Reviews for Honeysuckle Cottages
Review 1:When booked, it says 'Continental breakfast is provided'. Well... They are all raw.. Raw bacons, eggs, breads, cereals, pork sausages were provided in the fridge.. They are seriously generous with the portions..
Review 2:It was a fairytale experience staying at Honeysuckle Cottage.. The settings reminds me of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The cottage was well-maintain and clean..
Review 3:Sadly the shower was slippery despite the non-slip mat that was provided, I still had a nasty slip despite using it as it didn't grip like it is meant to, and almost landed on my butt on the floor on the first night. A cheeky little brown snake greeted me the first morning and gave me a nasty fright just outside the front of the cottage. The tiny TV almost required a pair of binoculars to see it. The chairs out the front were hard and cold so we had to use the spare kitchen table chairs to sit on out the front.
Review 4:I loved the generous, delicious breakfast basket, the really comfortable beds, a very well equipped kitchen, the free DVDs and Wi-Fi to the room, and the kind, generous owners who allowed us to arrive very late despite it being long time passed our check-in time. Stanthorpe has its own bred of small but persistent flies thank God the cottage Windows had flyscreens! ???
Review 5:The cottages were awesome
Review 6:The hosts were great communicators and lovely people a pleasure to stay with . We will be back . Cheers Glen and Annette .
Review 7:Not as clean as expected. Quite a lot of cobwebs. I also found a number of bobby pins on the floor.
Review 8:Loved that there was a fireplace and it was all set up ready to go. Breakfast basket was excellent. It was surprisingly quiet given the location.
Review 9:To nitpick, a bigger telly might have been nice - it was a struggle to see. If staying for more than a weekend, maybe a dishwasher would be good. We only stayed o/n so it didn't bother us. Also no grill/oven.
Review 10:They have almost everything you could want (see negatives) and the breakfast basket was brilliant. It could have easily lasted us 2 days if we'd stayed that long. We will stay again. Young fellow at front desk (who's name I've forgotten) was very helpful.
Review 11:Liked all, but could offer vegetarian option for breakfast - eggs were great, but even a can of baked beans in lieu of bacon, etc.
Review 12:Location and setting. Cosy cottage.
Review 13:Having to clean up free my own "supplied" breakfast basket. "If you use the self cook facilities, please clean your cooking" - breakfast basket provided required us to have to use self cooking facilities. for the price, I don't want to be charged extra to not do the dishes on a one night stay. Also the wifi didn't reach our room and the restaurant was closed on the night we were there - on one website it says closed Monday's but on the welcome email it said closed Tuesday's (night of stay). as this was one reason we choose this place, it was disappointing.
Review 14:Bed was comfortable, spa was great.
Review 15:Everything - excellent location, cottage, staff, comfort and privacy. Our stay was to celebrate a special occasion and we would have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone we know wanting to have a private getaway.
Review 16:No wifi, onsite restaurant not child friendly, no children's menu and only offers Asian cuisine, needs a more diverse menu.
Review 17:Cabins very private, a good supply of wood for the fireplace.
Review 18:I liked everything about the cottage and to add to that the manager/owner, Rick, was most helpful when my wife realised in Tenterfield, that she had lost her hearing aid in the cottage. He and his staff searched the cottage, found it and posted it back to our home address. We felt so relieved when he phoned to say they had found it. Thank you Rick!
Review 19:Channel 9 reception was not great (bad for State of Origin night!) We would have preferred two single beds in second bedroom. Lounge chair could have been more comfortable. Driveway was somewhat difficult to reverse out of.
Review 20:Kitchen had everything we needed. Staff very helpful. Fire was easy to make and sustain. Close to Maccas for coffee!
Review 21:The spa didn't work. Were a bit annoyed about that because the main reason we booked was because of the spa.
Review 22:The breakfast basket was well received.
Review 23:could have papers delivered in mornings would be great, and perhaps some flowers in room on arrival
Review 24:From the time we arrived early There wasn"t a problem. staff friendly room was just so nice and quaint Restraunt really good, food and service great Will be going back for sure. Our friends stayed elsewhere and were a little bit jealous on our value for money
Review 25:Too close to main road and right behind an all night service station with Macdonalds. however not too noisy but was not a very busy time. This could be a problem as a lot of trucks use the road. Australian sausages not well liked by our party! On site restaurant only serves a strange mix of asian food-agin not our personal choice so not used.
Review 26:Surroundings were good and breakfast basket provided ample for hearty breakfast. Owners very helpful and unobtrusive.Kitchen well supplied with equipment for self catering and a choice of teas and coffee.
Review 27:nothing
Review 28:We loved the setting in the trees and big granite boulders. Listening to the birds in the morning. Great spot to stay if going on a winery tour as we where, the bus picks up from the front gate. Loved laying in bed looking at the fire burning. Highly recommend we will go again.
Review 29:Bed and pillows could have been a bit softer.
Review 30:The character of the furnishings which reflected early 20th Century charm. The bushland setting where every cottage has it's own area.
Review 31:My daughter said she felt we had been shrunk and ended up in a lovely dolls house. It was clean and homely. We all had a lovely time and the kids could scoot around and explore all the paths through the bush.
Review 32:the staff were wonderful and very knowledgeable about the area. nothing was too much trouble. everything we needed was provided for, right down to the fresh milk for the coffee!!
Review 33:Had to go home too soon !!
Review 34:The cottages were superbly kept in comfortable country style and the warmth of the fire was fantastic. We enjoyed catering for ourselves and eating out in the local town as all was close and the cottage had everything we needed to feel at home. The owners were welcoming and helpful on places to visit for walking and sight seeing. The wine tour was fantastic.
Review 35:Not relevant. !
Review 36:We loved staying in Cottage 2 with 2 adults and two young children. Peaceful, private and perfect for a Stanthorpe getaway. Owners were very hospitable - breakky hamper was generous - cottages were quaint and extremely comfortable and cosy. Lots of room in lounge and kitchen/dining room for a family. We 'll be back as it was so conveniently located and handy to everything.

Review 60:Comfortable accommodation with fire. Kitchen very well appointed. Spa. Proximity to vineyards.
Review 61:Nothing!
Review 62:Great spa, delicious breakfast basket, very warm fireplace and endless peace and tranquility!
Review 63:As it was the beginning of the winter season, I do think everything should have been pristine and clean and I don't feel that it was.
Review 64:Facilities had everything you would need and guests were left to their privacy.
Review 65:Yes the breakfast basket which we had for dinner followed by the balance in the morning; but not just that alone, it was just the setting; faciliites and of course the fireplace even though it was not really cold enough, but we just had to light it, good fun..
Review 66:Its a small item but a dishwasher would have been fantastic.
Review 67:The way the cottages are set on the property give everyone a private feeling about their cottage.
Review 68:There was nothing we didn't like, We knew if anything would have been of concern to us,our hosts would be there to quickly resolve any issue.
Review 69:Rick and Maxine are great hosts, who were always only too happy to provide helpful local information. In doing so,showed us how caring and professional they were the whole time we stayed @ their Cottages. We look forward to our next stay in Stanthorpe and Honeysuckle Cottages will be our 1st choice for booking. Thankyou,Rick and Maxine,
Review 70:This was a great place to stop the cottages had everything you could need the breakfast in the hamper for you to cook in the morning was ideal will go back again
Review 71:Nothing really!
Review 72:The location and positioning of the cottages; very private setting. They were very comfortable and cosy. Am recommending them to all our friends and work colleagues. The breakfast basket contained a mountain of food; we had trouble eating it all. Had a wonderful long weekend.
Review 73:Breakfast is poor. We received a basket for 3 days in advance, 3 days the same food and very limited apart from eggs.
Review 74:Lovely quiet location, but still close to main road.
Review 75:Absolutely nothing.
Review 76:Absolutely everything. The best accommodation I have had in nearly 10 years of travelling around S E Queensland. I would go back to Stanthorpe just to stay in Honeysuckle cottages.
Review 77:Nothing I can think of. Perhaps some might object to the neighbouring property having roosters, but it did not worry us unduly. They were some distance away from the cottages anyway.
Review 78:The cottages were all situated for privacy. They were well-appointed with a very 'cottagey' feel, even down to the linen apron hanging on a hook near the sink. The breakfast (supplied with the room tariff) was a very generous country serve and the hosts (owners) were absolutely delightful. The rooms were clean and welcoming with lots of little touches. I would expect they would be a delightful winter holiday place. (We did not use the log fire.)
Review 79:The hotwater was not turned on and we couldnt find the power box until we were leaving.
Review 80:The setting in the bush and individual cottages. The "country" feel about the decor and the open fire. The restaurent was excellant and a nice walk back to cottage.
Review 81:Fireplace did not work properly continually smoked and set off alarms
Review 82:Great location Very roomy
Review 83:That for a 2 bed unit there was only one bathroom with toilet --should have had either an ensuite or separate toilet facility.
Review 84:Nothing
Review 85:Everything
Review 86:Very comfortable, clean. Home away from home. All our needs were meet. Good value for money. Would recommend this to friends.
Review 87:Lovely garden with flowers but only plastic flowers in cottage.
Review 88:Privacy of cottages, having dinner served to our room. DVD library.
