Reviews for Norcenni Girasole Club

Review 1:Mosquitos, can't blame property but bad weather really brought out the little critters

Review 2:Facilites even out of Season had everything we needed for short break, food in restaurant top notch

Review 3:Pools are not heated and were cold for young children Out of high season train is not riding anymore. Replaced by a van. Out of high season restaurant at top of camping is closed. At the end of our stay, only 1 restaurant remained open.

Review 4:Large camping with a lot of facilities. Very confortable mobilhome. We received a free upgrade. Very close to cities like Firenze, Siena Fabulous view on the mountains of Toscany.

Review 5:beds very small and uncomfortable for an adult. Wifi very poor

Review 6:great location to visit Tuscany beautiful setting, food, great pools, very helpful staff, well stocked supermarket

Review 7:The only negative comment is about breakfast, it was poor.

Review 8:The location, the staff, very family oriented, nice atmosphere. We rented a studio and it was in a nice traditional house with a great view over the surrounding hilly area.

Review 9:Clean towels weekly as well as sheet. A proper grill/oven and or BBQ.

Review 10:The facilities on site, the location and views, the caravan outside space and inside layout.

Review 11:The Existing Restaurants & bars are good, I think that maybe the Facilities would benefit from a little more choice of Restaurants and Bars

Review 12:Beautiful Surroundings the Apartments were great. The family atmosphere was terrific

Review 13:Wifi access was really difficult at night and at some locations od the camping. It was also expensive.

Review 14:The pools are nice, families with kids have lots of fun

Review 15:Stayed B&B, self-catering better vfm resteraunts onsite pricy.

Review 16:Stayed 3 nights with kids, good water slides, night entertainment, good facilities, kids happy, rooms clean, shops and resteraunts, busy and popular.

Review 17:The lifeguards at the laguna pool were a waste of space - while not an emergency, my son needed help and I had to go all the way to the top pool to find a guard and even then he just shrugged his shoulders. Three lifeguards (when they eventually all appeared) and all they did was stand on the bridge chatting and looking at their mobile phones The waiter at the Sant' Andrea restaurant seemed lost the whole time, just staring here there and everywhere other than at my face while I was trying to give my order - he forgot to come back to us twice (ketchup, dessert menu) We thought we'd treat ourselves to a junior suite but the pictures are unfairly flattering - in need of a little upgrade - the walls were very thin so it was pretty noisy There didn't seem to one ideal pool at the main site - either far too deep or far too shallow for our kids, none just right The train between the top and the bottom of the site is a great idea but a total scrum to get on board - you'll soon learn to forget calm, orderly queuing It would have been helpful to receive a print out of the kids club schedule on arrival

Review 18:In contrast to the ristorante Sant'Andrea, the staff at the other restaurants were very helpful and welcoming and the food was great, as were the atmosphere and the gelateria The laguna pool is great for the kids (although don't let them out of your sight - see comment regarding lifeguards) There are plenty of activities for the kids The site is well-placed to act as a base to tour the region, with Florence, Sienna and the Chianti region all close to hand

Review 19:Pools got very busy, the apartment had no air con which in 38 degree heat made it quite uncomfortable The bathroom was adapted for disabled users but that meant the toilet was very high and the shower, if it was on powerful, flooded the whole bathroom.

Review 20:Great location, it is quite hilly, fantastic pools which keep kids entertained for hours, lovely restaurants especially the Tuscan buffet evenings which served a massive variety of lovey Tuscan food, great staff, the land train was useful to get around the hilly campsite, however there was a bit of a scrum to get on.

Review 21:Booked a one bed appt through booking.com. 2 days before arrival was offered an upgrade to a 2 bedroomed appt for only 19 euro extra. not sure if this was wise decision as we ended up with a large room which had the kitchen and table/chairs with 2 single beds and another bedroom with double bed squeezed in - and no air conditioning. this had not been an option when i booked. our friends had an appt in a different block with 2 bedrooms, a smaller living area but had air con in each room. they offered to move us to a mobile home with air con for an additional fee. we stayed put and on day 2 they gave us one fan. It probably isn't usually as hot as we have had it this week but just note that air con is not in all the apartments as you may assume....

Review 22:Lovely location and the top pool with lazy river kept the kids busy for the 2 days that we were there. Restaurant up in that area was excellent too..

Review 23:We didn't realise that the camp doctor did not take E111 cards. Excellent attention and treatment for insect bites and stings, but so it should be at €100 and €120 per visit. Hopefully we'll retrieve most of this from our travel insurance

Review 24:Vecchio and Norcenni restaurants were, excellent, as ever. The grandchildren had a great time at the Lagoon, and my wife was very pleased with the spa. When it became painful to walk following an insect bite on her foot, the camp staff were very attentive and kind, including arranging transport back to our apartment.

Review 25:Very busy but expected that.

Review 26:Great fun for the kids. Good entertainment. Restaurants, ice cream shop, shops and supermarket all well stocked. Fantastic for families.

Review 27:Advertised "free" wifi was limited to 50Mb per day, very poor. Connection was also shotty. Paid wifi worked, but low speed and connection dropped occasionally.

Review 28:Great staff and good facilties. Good choice of restaurants.

Review 29:The site was packed with people and it was difficult to enjoy the overcrowded pools or sun lounge areas. Self-catering facilities were not good as there were limited cooking utensils.

Review 30:Our first time staying at a camp site - we stayed in a duplex apartment in the old villa. We were impressed with all the facilities and particularly enjoyed the choice of restaurants - we thought the food was excellent. All staff were friendly and very efficient. We had lovely fresh towels left into the apartment each day and our beds were made up too.

Review 31:To start, we would stay at this property again in an instant. To give a balanced review, the following are items we noted: The apartments are in remodeled old buildings & such structures will invariable have cracks that small critters can get into. In this case, ants will appear if you leave food out. Just don't leave food out (as we unfortunately did), and this will not be an issue. One of the burners in our unit was not working properly; took forever to warm up. Not a big deal, but neither pool is heated. I can imagine it gets cold in spring or fall (we stayed in early summer).

Review 32:This place was an unbelievable find. If you book the apartments, you'll get a place in the villa or the buildings right down form the villa. We had a 2-bedroom in a building just down from the villa. It was spacious and very nice. We thoroughly enjoyed our time & would book again. The facilities for kids are excellent (2 large pools, slides, etc.). Our kids are 9 & we thought they would want to hang out at the larger pool (at the bottom of the facility), instead they really enjoyed the long slide at the upper pool (which is otherwise better for smaller kids). The location is amazing. It's set on a mountain top over a valley; 30 minutes to Florence, 60 to Siena; 45 to San Gimiagnano. This is a family oriented place that has just about everything you could want. It's not the 4-Seasons, but it is comfortable & absolutely perfect for a family to relax & have a great time.

Review 33:No negative comments!

Review 34:Wonderful location, fit to visit the whole Tuscany. Wery kind personal. Excellent price-prestation rate. Wide range of comfort from tent to romantic villas.

Review 35:Very poor cleaning, toilet in apartment was not clean. WI FI very bad connection, poor signal and expensive

Review 36:Various activities and recreation facilities. Lot of plants and very good gardening.

Review 37:Not enough parking spaces near the houses.

Review 38:Good starting point for tuscany sightseeing. Our smallest children loved the pools, for us the wather a bit too cold. The staff was very friendly. We were impressed by the full infrastructure of the place - everything is working perfectly inspite the fact the place is huge.

Review 39:"Lego club" has nothing to do with Lego bricks. Our boy was unsatisfied about this. Most of day-activities were aimed at children up to 3-4 years.

Review 40:Pools were really beautiful, especially the upper ones with the lagoon for kids. The "train" riding from the bottom to the top of the village was really handy. Many restaurants with really good food, especially the one with open-fire oven. Animations for kids every evening were quite interesting.

Review 41:It may be a bit hard to find, but if you put in the coordinates in your satellite navigation and then follow the signs when you're close, you should be able to find it.

Review 42:The staff was friendly and helpful. The pool/swimming facilities were good.

Review 43:The views from the site were amazing! It was great value for money and I can see why it's the perfect spot for a family. We were passing through while looking for a wedding venue in Tuscany, so didn't stay long, but would definitely stay again in the future.

Review 44:The internet connection isn't the best. There was no TV in the room. The walls between rooms are very thin, so the noise insulation is very limited.

Review 45:The restaurants have a great variety and good quality. The entertainent area for kids, is well maintained and big enough. Most of the staff is multilingual and friendly.

Review 46:The prices in the store are very high, so better to go in town in LIDL

Review 47:The whole complex is great with all the pools, restaurants, and all other facilities. It is huge and there is everything you need to relax. Great Tuscan tour agency. The complex is located in the middle of Tuscany and therefore is great as a base from where you can explore Tuscany, visit Florence, Pisa, San Gimignano,... have a taste of Tuscany. The mobile houses are great, with everything you need. The employees are great and helpful and will answer all your questions and requests. We will return again.

Review 48:free wi-fi is very-very bad (in public area too) - system of internet registration does nt work well. cold water in pools far enought from Firenze

Review 49:apartment - quite, clean, big

Review 50:- internet only in reception area

Review 51:- great and beautiful place but if you are traveling with the car; - very friendly staff; - free parking; - camping with many entertainment options-swiming pool, restaurants, shops, bars, etc.

Review 52:1. even though we paid for the room with daily cleaning, our room was cleaned just once in 5 days. They didn't change towels at all. 2. Breakfast was good, but very small selection. This means that if you stay in a hotel for 5, 6 days, you will be eating same food.

Review 53:Location is excellent, view fantastic, huge complex with many facilities available - excellent for children.

Review 54:Booking.com should be aware this is a huge/massive camp site and not a place for an overnight stop, it should be advertised as a camp site , it is huge, enormous, up a steep hill so not easy to walk around, you had to have a map! Shower did not work, called for help, they came, pressure probs as usual in Italy- not unusual, cooker did not work, could not even make a cup of tea- supposed to be self- catering, no sockets had to use bedside light one- apartment was up steep steps, parking is a nightmare, thousands of people there that day. Set in a valley with very steep roads and paths, it is for families with children not a one night stop- it should be listed as a camp site not on booking.com under apartments or villas or hotel rooms- it is NOT! Would never go there again- it is for happy campers! I complained to them in the morning- they were polite. The whole place is huge never seen a camp site so big in my life- a few apartments in the middle does not make it a place for travelers passing by.

Review 55:Accommodation was ok but nothing special, resort as it is one and very big never seen anything so huge has plenty of restaurants and the food was good, as it is self catering the apartment has everything except sockets! Plenty of clean towels and bathroom was ok, slept 4 so price was good considering it was so large but we were only using it as a stop over.

Review 56:Relativno drage gostinske storitve v kampu. Mobilne hiške so stvar okusa...

Review 58:the place was great, we had a lovely time, we had everything we needed. All staff are very professional and always happy to help. will definitely recommend this place to others!

Review 59:Wifi could be better and the external play areas are not well kept

Review 60:we just wanted to visit Tuscany and it's beautiful landscape so we did not want to go in the city. Lots of facilities and restaurants and close enough to most points. Parking is available easily.

Review 61:I'm not sure that in the period when there is yet possible to have quiet a holiday since there's obviously people staying with children and to play is safe and used space within the complex where I stay. Of course with the children like everyone we have no right to complain . The problem was that many of the mobile homes had no waterproof shelter materials on the terrace. About that I earlier had menshioned in my other critics, but I hadn't seen any changes. I hope that you'll fix this problem and tell the other camps about it

Review 62:I already said that I like the idea of complex mobile homes. Layout is incredibly rational within the home, and provides comfort intended number of people. Place's worth a visit and is in the middle of Tuscana, very close to Florence (40 min to the center). I was with my wife and two daughters (4 and 14 and with my brother's family who has two older children and wife,'course). The complex also has a fun time so it's guaranteed, after all who wants to. A

Review 63:Went there with two children, they loved the swimming pool, but not all the rides were open, staff said it was too cold (went there in april). Really nice place, close to Siena and Florence. We really liked it, will be going back but always off season, we don't like crowded places.

Review 64:Our stay was exceptional and we found no fault with the accommodation or facilities.

Review 65:Location was excellent, the nearest town was around 5mins drive, and Florence was under 1hr. The park itself if huge, we had initially booked to stay in the Villa Norcenni but on arrival we were offered a choice between the villa or a Waikiki mobile home. We chose the mobile home as it was more spacious, had WiFi (on the veranda) and was closer to the resort centre. There was a bar and restaurant onsite as well as a small Spar for groceries. Some of the pools were closed but the main pools were open. The site is huge, it was very quiet when we visited and I can imagine it is packed in Summer. The mobile home was comfortable with plenty space, a nice veranda and a microwave and hob. There are washing facilities a stones throw away for washing and drying your clothes. The staff were helpful and James on reception was always cheerful and happy to help.

Review 66:It was a long walk uphill to our villa but I think we needed the exercise.

Review 67:My husband and I are from Australia. We did a 5 week trip of Europe and this place was in the middle of our holiday. We stayed there for 3 nights and didn't leave the property. It was very relaxing set in a beautiful location with great food and everything you need!

Review 68:2 weeks before end of season and everything was closed except for main entrance bar/rest/pools. No trips bookable etc. Understandable of course as there were probably only a tenth of occupancy on site. In high season it could be very busy as accomodation units are very close together

Review 69:Location and quiet park, but that was due to end of season. Olympic size swimming pool excellent, and good indoor pool too which was needed as the weather was poor. Main bar restaurant reasonable food. Supermarket on site helpful but pricey.

Review 70:Stayed 2 nights only. Wi-Fi wasn't free.

Review 71:Had a family room with breakfast included at surprising price. Towels were changed daily. Views from our windows were amazing. Plenty of activities for kids.

Review 72:Quite noisy and there seemed to be noises coming from the heating or water pipes that woke us up several times during the night.

Review 73:Very clean, comfortable rooms, friendly staff and decent food and amenities. The resort also had a mini market and bar.

Review 74:We went to this site a number of times when our children were younger. While the facilities (pools, restaurants etc) are good they can be very busy. Worse, the owners have increased the number of units on the site which has exacerbated the problem. They also allow private functions which inconveniences the paying holidaymakers and seems nothing short of greedy. Hiring out/closing the bottom restaurant on a Saturday and having a large function at the top pool complex over a weekend may bring in more income for the owners. but didn't enhance my experience.

Review 75:Well located for exploring. Good but busy facilities. Helpful and friendly staff. The apartment was spacious but rustic

Review 76:1. pool was freezing took breath away 2. Mobile home moved, coudnt work out why. 3. No over to cook on

Review 77:1. Friendly/helpful staff 2. Good eating out to choose from 3. Lovely views 4. easy to sight see main towns 5. clean park and quite

Review 78:For a 2 week stay we got fresh linen after day 5 only for the full 14 day stay. Linen was just left and beds were not made up. An oven would be nice also in chalet

Review 79:For 1st time visitors a 15 min approx information session on site activities, available supports on site, suggested activities for age groups, tours and orintation on site would assist visitors to make the best use of their stay from the start of their holiday.

Review 80:Reception staff seemed stressed and inefficient. Long walk down hill (and back up) from accommodation to breakfast restaurant.

Review 81:Great views, fantastic pool area.

Review 82:The takeaway wasn't that great on site which was a shame.

Review 83:Location was excellent..only 30 minutes from Florence which we would highly recommend a visit to! The resort itself is fantastic for all ages. We have a 5 year old who loved the range of swimming pools, slides and parks! We ate in 2 of the restaurants and the food, service and atmosphere was without fault. We will definitely be going back again next year.

Review 84:2 bedroom mobile homebit small for 4 of us bit of a squash bunk beds were not adquate for teenagers so would have gone for bigger if know this

Review 85:perfect location great restaurants simming pools stayed at the bottom area which was best for older kids and famlies

Review 86:Only 1 mirror in the caravan but that's it, no other complaints!

Review 87:Lots of pools, very safe kids pools and lots of slides and rides perfect for kids young and old and in the most breathtaking scenery ever. Great restaurants with fab food and reasonable prices, we loved every minute.

Review 88:The apartment was outdated with no sofa or TV. Very limited kitchen facilities. Could do with oven in the kitchen.

Review 89:Perfect location in the hills of Chianti, very nice swimming pools, very good range of activities for kids, variety of restaurants, take aways and two shops on site

Review 90:Could have done with more outside furniture with the apartments & perhaps numbered to coincide with your apartment number so that you have a table etc that you feel is yours for the duration of your stay. Would have liked some assistance at the end of the holiday getting suitcases etc down to the info point for checkout. Difficult to do on own negotiating stairs & steps.

Review 91:The site itself is brilliant - a stunning location, swimming pools are fabulous especially the lazy river! plenty of sun-loungers enough for everyone so no need for the mad scramble to get a lounger first thing in the day as we have experienced at other sites, excellent restaurants & ice cream parlour. Everything you needed was there. The tourist train ran all day ferrying people from the main square to the upper village which was great in the heat of the day! Well run excursions

Review 92:We disliked the food at the restaurant. It was really bad. Service at the breakfast was a bit rude. Perhaps you could write that some food is gluten-free, so you do not have to come over to the clients afterwards and point out that they have taken food reserved for those that only eat gluten free. The room we at first was offered had all the windows closed by brick-stones like a prison. It was really scary, and we had to drive back by car to the reception and ask for another room, as the service guy that brought us up to the room, could not call the reception and ask if they had another room. The place is so big that you have to take the car, even to go for breakfast or to go to the reception. Maybe it is 1 km. away in car. Parking next to the reception is very difficult and time limited (5 places and 5 minutes). The train taking you from the rooms and to the reception leaves at 9.45 in the morning and the breakfast closes at 10. So you arrive late, and have to take the car and park it, instead of using the train which is already there. That is a shame. Because that mini-train is a great idea!

Review 93:We liked the acquapark a lot, and our child had so much fun. This was a perfect holiday for children. A bit stressful for the adults with all the people around, but amazing playground for children. The breakfast in the morning is good and offers different things.

Review 94:The two dearer 2 bedroom (42 and 43) apartments were very basic - no aircon (or even a fan) and no fly net on the windows so we got bitten badly at night or too hot to sleep. No TV/ radio and whole apartments needed a refurb with plaster flaking from the walls. Kitchen/dining table was at rear of apartment with no windows so very dark. No living area and table for eating outside was some distance away and overrun by ants.

Review 95:This was our second stay at Villa Norcenni and our large family group had 3 apartments between us. The site is fantastic with loads to do for kids off all ages, well priced supermarkets and good restaurants. Pools are awesome and the top pool is right next to Villa Norcenni. Easy drive to Florence, Montrpulchiano, etc for sight seeing and shopping. Cheaper 1bed apartment (no18) that my farther was given was bigger, had aircon, flat screen tv, bedroom, bathroom, large living area and separate kitchen and was in a much better state of repair.

Review 96:Carpet, windows in apartment not clean. Shower not cleaned on daily basis

Review 97:Location. Thoughtfullness of staff. Campsite facilities. Entertainment. Breakfast buffet excellent.

Review 98:Nothing

Review 99:We stayed in Norcenni in a Junior suite in the mountain.. Even if you are the impression that the Club is in the middle of nowhere, it is about 20 minutes of Florence and an hour of Pise. In fact, we stayed there 2 nights and it was not enough to take the advantage of everything. Staff speak a lot of foreign language and the restaurant are really really good!

Review 100:great site with lots of swimming pools and areas to relax, the site has a few different restaurants and a well stocked shop. free wifi was good in the communal areas but we did not get any in our room. we were upgraded from a bungalow to a room which was a relief as the bungalows looked very small. great coach trip, to florence daily and we also went to pisa, very reasonably priced!

Review 101:The location on a steep hillside does'nt make it easy to walk about for people with young children in buggies,The Appartment we stayed in was dark and stuffy and did'nt have Air Conditioning even though we were led to believe it did

Review 102:Facilities, i.e pools, restaurants, bars etc. were excellent. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Arrangements for viewing World Cup Matches were first class.

Review 103:Α perfect place, a paradise for holidays!!!! Nice nature, friendly atmosphere, variety of sport and entertainment facilities. You could find everything, there. I would like to visit it again and again.

Review 104:Some mobiles very small & poorly located with little or mo shade & only an umberella provided. Upper Buffet restaurant wanted to charge adult prices for 10 year olds. Very poor as in everything else kids were over 12.

Review 105:Great pools, restaurants & facilities. Staff friendly but not very well informed.

Review 106:Kids loved the two pools and exploring the grounds. Very friendly staff, nice market and several good dining options for families with young children.

Review 107:There was nothing we didn't like

Review 108:Everything was super we stayed in an apartment in converted Tuscan building super two bedroom two bathrooms great fab facilities brill pools and restaurants We will be going back

Review 109:A little overcrowded in the pool areas at times.

Review 110:Excellent value for money. Great place to entertain kids. Our room was comfortable. Beautiful surroundings and view.

Review 111:Fantasy place for autumn season

Review 112:The walk up hill to villa ( 1st world problem lol)

Review 113:Loved "il Vecchio" restaurant and fhe food! Great facilities

Review 114:Large room, parking

Review 115:Attention to detail and quality for everyone in the family

Review 116:Everything was good

Review 117:We thought the site was very nice and well organised and would recomend it to others

Review 118:The place great!!!! Perfect for children!!! Nearby there's horse riding

Review 119:Beautiful surroundings.Tuscany style old house.

Review 120:Steep hill need another train please

Review 121:Wine tasting with band fantastic also Daran Irish security guy

Review 122:internet

Review 123:Location, location, location. Facilities excellent generally everything is first class bar Internet coverage

Review 124:Very uncomfortable beds

Review 125:Great place, nice swimming pools

Review 126:Facilities were good, ease of access

Review 127:Pool and sports area

Review 128:Everything

Review 129:Not enough shade/parasol late morning with young children because all spaces were reserved early in the morning.

Review 130:The ice cream was good

Review 131:Too busy in the restaurants leading to stressed staff.

Review 132:Easy access to Florence.

Review 133:No air con in our apartment.

Review 134:Apartments, scenery, pool areas, range of activities.

Review 135:It's too far from any cities or towns of interest.

Review 136:It's a fun place for the kids with lots of activities.
