Review 1:Very friendly and welcoming staff, neat interior and very clean suit, comfortable for a family of 4. Delicious home-made dishes for breakfast.15 min.drive from Volterra.
Review 2:Restaurant was closed on Wednesdays which was such a pity because, if the breakfast was anything to go by, the retaurant would have been exceptional.
Review 3:Lovely room, very helpful owner who hauled my bags, gave us a free glass of wine as a welcome and a fabulous breakfast. Wish I'd booked for a few more days!
Review 4:Nothing
Review 5:This is a super hotel. The owner and staff were great, Ricardo and the 2 Valentina's made our stay very welcoming. The hotel is good for visiting Volterra and Siena/Pisa are within an hours easy drive. We used the restaurant on 2 occasions, the food was excellent try the risotto. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Review 12:Extremely neat and clean. New furniture in room. Best breakfast. Worth the 10 km commute to Volterra. No "musty" character ascribed by Rick Steves to many older rooms in Volterra.
Review 13:The bathroom has a few problem, mod and the water desen't drain.
Review 14:The staff is very friendly, the breakfast is very good and a lot to choose from, the position is close to the main cities in the area, the room and the hotel in general is very clean and the restaurant has a rich menu.
Review 15:-Very Expensive for what you get -The bathroom state was just not acceptable for the price we paid. Mould and broken shower hose stand. - location quite noisy -cable tv 99% mulsim channels -breakfast really basic
Review 16:Friendly staff
Review 17:a real haven in the Hills of Tuscany . Ricardo was a great host . Very kind and accommadating . Valantena & nonna Niccolina very warm and friendly. They treat their guests with charm and friendship
Review 18:Beautifully renovated antique Mill, with splendid décor, retaining a charming feeling of the past. Al fresco and internal restaurant space, intimate bar area, internal breakfast room and large parasol protected patio decked with flowers, cacti and herbs where one can choose to have breakfast, or enjoy a late evening drink as the sun sets. A large barn opposite, which protects your car from the daily heat; and another large room for wedding receptions and events. Riccardo is a most charming host, always ready to offer conversation and intriguing information about the Tuscan region, and ably supported by friendly staff, one of whom, his brother Marco, is the Master Chef. The food is excellent; they grow and make everything themselves: bread, olive oil, pasta; a local farm provides the eggs. Location is in the heart of Tuscany, giving you a solid base for trips out to Pisa in the Northwest and Florence in the Northeast. To the West is Cecina which boasts a lovely beach on the edge of a pine forest, and where one can explore many other small coastal villages. To the South is Montepulciano and Siena. Above is the nearby Medieval hill town of Volterra. On Riccardo's advice we rose early and drove through a morning mist to the hilltop, watching the town emerge above us in the rising sun and finally gazing below at the cloudy landscape through which small houses and farms could be seen warmly glowing in the sea of white that curled around them. We loved absolutely everything about this place and would thoroughly recommend it.

Review 24:Everything-fámily run place, very clean, delicious food- Marco and Ricardo aré amazing!!!
Review 25:Friendly staff, great restaurant, comfortable rooms. Very good breakfast.
Review 26:Bathroom needs some maintenance, noise from other rooms. Several kilometers to drive to arrive at your desired places
Review 27:Very friendly people, good food
Review 28:Luckily we had a car because the location was further than expected. It's 9 kms along a very windy narrow road to reach the historic town of Volterra. As long as you know this the hotel is good value and a great place to explore Tuscany from.
Review 29:Ricardo and his staff were friendly and welcoming. The restaurant food was excellent!
Review 30:The restaurant is closed on Wednesdays so we were unable to try the home made cooking.
Review 31:Friendly familly run hotel Quiet, just a few kilometers from Volterra Interesting building: a converted old mill Great breakfast with homemade bread
Review 32:Hotel was closed at time of arrival, nobody responed phones. Room was loud, and looked very old (not as picture promised). Bed was old and non comfortable....really it hurts...
Review 33:Breakfast.
Review 34:That we only made reservations for 2 nights and had another reservation in another near-by town we needed to take. We should have stayed longer. If we had it to do over again, we'd have spent our whole time in Tuscany at Il Vecchio Mulino.
Review 35:Everything. Ricardo, the manager, and Marco, the chef, were fantastic. They were extremely hospitable, the breakfasts had a great variety of fruit, cereal, yogurt and delicious espresso or cappuccino coffee. The location was wonderful for exploring Volterra and other surrounding Tuscan Hill Towns. Ricardo gave us helpful advice of other towns to see in the area, as well as where to take laundry and purchase a telephone. If we return to Tuscany in the future, this is definitely where we'll stay!
Review 36:The owner Riccardo was very friendly, the rooms were clean and comfortable, the dinner and breakfast were very tasty. The hotel is easy to reach by bus from Volterra. Saline is a fairly modern town, but, it is a great gateway to historical and natural sites nearby such as Volterra, Montecatini, and the beaches of Cecina.
Review 37:Great hotel.
