Reviews for Mediterraneo Palace Hotel

Review 1:No shower. Very low water pressure. The air conditioning was limited to a bare minimum, so the room was only comfortable long after sundown. The temperature in the room never got below 25 degrees celsius during the day. Parking was located beneath the hotel and only accessible by navigating a labyrinth of streets and they charge 8 Euro per day if you're fortunate enough to find it

Review 2:Pretty good location at a great price. Friendly staff.

Review 3:Air conditioning didn't always work Would have liked more than one towel and restock of toiletries everyday however, when asked at reception very accommodating to supply extras.

Review 4:Staff - Extremely Helpful Breakfast Cleaners great

Review 5:If the shower head can be detached it is more convenient to use and won't wet the bathroom floor.

Review 6:Location, friendly staff, convenient to access train and bus stops

Review 7:Restaurant just opened; some teething problems.

Review 8:Secure garage below hotel. Situated in main precincted shopping street. 15 min walk on road/steps down to historic Ragusa Ibla. Good room with view over one of the city bridges.

Review 9:hard to find by car restaurant poor breakfast dreadful stale bread watered down orange juice food ran out as coach loads of guests got there first

Review 10:in a good location reception staff excellent

Review 11:Restaurant poor atmosphere, breakfast not very good quality. Large parties of school children which were disturbing to other residents and caused unnecessary disturbance.

Review 12:Rooms, helpful staff in reception

Review 13:renewd recentlybut need still soe refurbishment our window had humidity inside double glazing and could not see well outside window frames had old moisture

Review 14:very central location, very helpful garage

Review 15:The lady at breakfast wasn't really helpful and didn't offer us a fresh cup of coffee where some other (Italian speaking business type) guest were offered some.

Review 16:Great price/quality ratio. Spacious and clean room. Good and central location.

Review 17:Wi-Fi poor in room at end of corridor.

Review 18:Modern, clean & comfortable. Most staff helpful, friendly & spoke good English. Good breakfast choice. Very central, best approached by car from south, park on via Roma Viaduct.

Review 19:The aircondition does not work properly, the shower head is fixed so it is very uncomfortable, the room flooring is in bad condition etc etc ...

Review 20:The only positive comment I can give is that the receptionists were very kind and helpful.

Review 21:Some guidance on how to get the car to the car park would be useful as the location is on a no through road. Quite tricky in the dark Taps in the bathroom almost too stiff to turn Bath plug would not come out unless attacked with a pair of scissors Air conditioning not effective - impossible to get room below 23/24 degrees. Impossible to charge meals to room account Testy staff in dining room The only hot food for breakfast was scrambled egg which seemed like it was made the day before!

Review 22:One lovely guy on reception who was really helpful Location in centre of town Underground car park

Review 23:Breakfast could be better.

Review 24:Helpfull staff, great location. Hotel is very good equiped, despite it is not very new. We stayed only fo 1 night, it was perfect for us.

Review 25:breakfast area was not as well stocked as it should have been. choices were less than expected.

Review 26:on site parking

Review 27:ugly and not friendly reception stuff..

Review 28:location, price discount

Review 29:Position, Breakfast

Review 30:Dimension of room

Review 31:Position in the pedestrian area

Review 32:Leaving

Review 33:Irene and Andrea - just super The room was beautiful The lobby was Italian sleek The breakfast was nice The promenade was charming and fun

Review 34:corridors were looking a bit tired

Review 35:Staff were helpful, location provided easy access to what we wanted to do

Review 36:Breakfast

Review 37:There were not a lot of restaurants next to the hotel.

Review 38:Location is good. The personnel was welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was good.

Review 39:I like ALL))) The hotel is situates in the centre of Ragusa Superiore, 10 min from railway station (it was important for me). Window of my room looked at the canyon Snata Domenica and Ponte Nuovo - wonderful sight. The breakfast was splendid. The staff speaks English fluently (rare in Sicily).

Review 40:Wifi in rooms was non existent even after reporting this failure on different occasions. The repercussions were loss of communication from my end for work reasons. Various items of Breakfast food were missing especially after other guests in groups had been down to the restaurant ahead of us. Confusion at the reception during check-in periods blocking access at times from the street inwards. Groups could be coordinated better and in an orderly manner temporarily placing everyone with their luggage, in restaurant adjacent to reception area. The problem becomes even worse when the group consists of children. It is evident that although the majority of the staff at lower level i.e. receptionist, catering, cleaner are poorly managed even though they try to please the hotel guests with all requests. Hence the problem is definitely at managerial level which shows lack of coordination and leadership .

Review 41:The desk clerk didn't know the difference between having reception on his cell phone and us having a working wi-fi connection. (Which we didn't. At all.) The room was VERY spartan and because of this almost felt like a nice prison cell. We passed a comfortable night, but it was one step up from a hostel, priced like a nice hotel. Mistake to book it.

Review 42:The location was good, if you want to be in upper Ragusa. In retrospect, I think I would have preferred Ragusa Ibla, but for the upper city this hotel is well situated.

Review 43:Price not good value considering we saw a cockroach and the customer service at the check-in desk was lacking.

Review 44:The location of the hotel was great--about 10 minutes or less from the train station, centrally located in Ragusa, located near walking a bus connections to Ragusa Ibla. There is a grocery store about 5 minutes away too. The woman who checked us in a the reception desk was friendly and polite, but gave us inaccurate information about the local bus service and didn't have a map other than a terrible photocopy. It's strange that hotel reception wouldn't just pick up maps from the tourist information center, which is close by. We saw a cockroach right inside the entrance to our room, walking just as bold as you please. While we didn't see another, we were kind of grossed out. The room seemed clean enough otherwise, and it was a decent size. Wi-Fi was free, with a fairly slow connection. The bed was comfortable and there was hot water in the shower. The breakfast at the hotel was quite good, but since we saw the roach and the customer service at reception was not very helpful, I wouldn't return here again.

Review 45:Inadequate staff during Breakfast; one person is definitely not enough for a room of that size!

Review 46:Right in the middle of Upper Ragusa and walking distance from Lower Ragusa (Ibla)

Review 47:Lack of advertised facilities ie. air conditioning, wifi, sound proofing. Very difficult using underground garage as staff controlled door access without having view of door so twice nearly had door lowered as trying to drive in. Do not find memory foam beds comfortable. Plastic chairs unpleasant to sit on in hot weather , especially with no air conditioning. Hotel popular with school parties who were noisy morning and evening and dominated the restaurant.

Review 48:Breakfast orange and carrot juice.

Review 49:-No choice of food outlets -Dining in (room service) - food menu with a choice of 1/2 item -Baby cot not in so good conditions -Lack of foreign TV stations (only Italian) -Did not have face cloths

Review 50:-Spacious room for a family of 4 -Large bathroom -Private garage (against payment) -Pillow menu (never seen before) -Illy coffee machine in room -Centrally located hotel -Well lit room

Review 51:The hotel lies just at the start of a newly paved pedestrian zone. Theroom is well insulated from the outside noise. Breakfast is great.Really loved the coffee machine in the room.

Review 52:The lack of "hustle and bustle" that should be present in a large hotel of this size. The black and white decor of the large lobby. No food of any kind available on arrival in the early afternoon, not even a cup of coffee. The bar was closed.

Review 53:The very large modern comfortable rooms. Notwithstanding our criticism of the hotel below, we enjoyed our stay of four nights. The Duomo is just a short walk from the hotel. And by the way, if one is feeling peckish during the day, there is a lovely modern eatery in front of the Duomo. It's called Cafe Italia and has a good range of food, especially at lunchtime, including wine, icecream, etc. The hotel serves Dinner in the restaurant at 20.00.

Review 54:The hotel is OK, but its glorious days are definitely in the past.

Review 55:The hotel is in very central location, but bear in mind that if you plan to go to Ibla by walking - you will have to walk up the hill for 30 mins or so. All good restaurants are located in Ibla.

Review 56:Words fail me,what staff!!! Manager was amazing, even sent a staff member to hairdressers with my girlfriend to translate what she would like done.Superclean,superfriendly.Felt like I've known them for years, even old Giovanni in the car park.Well-done Mediterraneo Palace great stay.Eóin :) from Ireland

Review 57:just a very good modern functional hotel which was minimalist and clean if a bit soulless with good breakfasts - the location was good for buses around the area

Review 58:Excellent position in the shopping centre and near the cathedral Goodwell stocked bar and modern dining room with good choice of menu. Staffat reception very helpful

Review 59:The breakfast was rather poor with scrambled eggs and bacon.

Review 60:The cleanliness and reception services with a smile. Also the fact thatit is in a central place for shopping, as well as the parking facilitiesunderground. We shall be coming there more often hopefully. Thank you.Carmen and Teddy Cilia
