Reviews for Hotel Villa La Palagina

Review 1:Extractor fan very noisy and positioned right next to restaurant and below our bedroom window.

Review 2:Staff were very friendly. Restaurant was fantastic and outside area fabulous.

Review 3:I have to be honest that the shower could be renewed but it was really clean and nice.

Review 4:The view was amazing seeing over the valley. The breakfast was delicious. The staff was really helpfull and even helped when we checked out and were lost in Florence. We arrived quiet late in the evening and thus couldn't enjoy more the property but the swimming pool and surroundings looked amazing.

Review 5:That we had to leave :( this place is a must experience.

Review 6:Congratulations to the manager Sonia and all of her staff for the amazing work they do!!! Excellent facilities. The most beautiful place to stay in Tuscany!!! We miss it!

Review 7:smell in bathroom; water pressure in shower very low, water temperature low (barely lukewarm)

Review 8:location is fantastic. friendly and competent staff, dinner was great

Review 9:All I have to say is WOW, this place was fantastic. The pool area is absolutely stunning. The view overlooking the vineyard and olive trees were breathtaking. We had a two bedroom apartment with 2 washroom so for a family of 5 this was wonderful. The kitchen was nothing to talk about but the apartment had a great dinning table to eat. The bedrooms were fantastic! Loved this place would definitely stay here again.

Review 10:Everything was top! The staff, the location and the hotel as a whole impressed us more than what we had expected. We felt home from when we set the first steps at the hotel. Absolutely amazing to enjoy a cold white-wine on the terrace overlooking the tuscan landscape in which the grapes of that particular wine has been harvested. The staff is attentive and provides an overly pleasant atmosphere which is necessary at a small place like this. We are coming back next year, and years to come!

Review 11:The apartment we stayed in was not especially clean, VERY obvious that they only swept the middle of the floor. A wine glass (somewhat clean) was laying on the sofa. Ran out of toilet paper after the first day.

Review 12:Beautiful place and surroundings! Had a restaurant, pretty pricy.

Review 13:All great!

Review 14:Loved the location, the beauty of the villa, the gorgeous room, the grounds are stunning, with the villa surrounded by olive groves and vineyards, two swimming pools, outdoor seating for dinner, fountains, everything was just stunning!

Review 15:our room was small and looked out over the back - would definitely ask for front facing room another time....set dinner menu a bit full on and heavy for us so we chose to eat out in the evenings which was a pity as would have preferred to stay in

Review 16:amazing views over the countryside. Set in a beautiful location with 2 large swimming pools set in pretty garden. very friendly and accommodating staff..easy access to Florence and Sienna (train station 10 mins away)

Review 17:rooms are in an older building, thus noice from neighbouring bedrooms and the hallway should be taken into account

Review 18:great breakfast great view excellent dinner options (we took the tasting menu with accompanying wines)

Review 19:Great location with amazing views! Two outside swimming pools! We stayed in Villa la Palagina for three nights celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary! This place is just wonderful for the ceremonies/weddings! Great and very helpfull staff! This hotel should have 5 star rating! We will definetely be back!

Review 20:we had a 2 bedroom apartment which was very nice. It had large bedrooms with comfortable beds, updated bathrooms and a beautiful view. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay agsin

Review 21:If you want to eat somewhere else you have to take the car.

Review 22:A nice house with a beautiful view, garden/pools. The staff and manager were very friendly and helpsome. The food at the restaurant was of high quality.

Review 23:Swimming pools attractive but would be better if heated.

Review 24:The setting, views of countryside, friendly staff and wonderful terrace for dining. Food and service in the evening couldn't be faulted.

Review 25:Difficult to find, not enough signage. We had to wait a long time for our meal. On the day we arrived there was no water at the property and engineers were working to fix the problem, it only was put on at 7pm.

Review 26:Beautiful location. Excellent food, friendly staff

Review 27:A little "isolated" to our liking. Very few nearby restaurants or attractions. Perhaps others will be looking for just this? No wifi in the rooms.

Review 28:Great setting! Fantastic outlook on the Tuscan countryside. Good breakfast.

Review 29:Bathroom an idea too smal and the food is a bit too pretencious. Also I noticed that the writing on the coca cola cans was in german so I don t feel it s very italian to drink in Tuscany from a german imported can .

Review 30:I liked mostly everything, it is a typical Tuscany accommodation. The villa itself looks great. rooms are clean and spacious, surroundings are just breathtaking. I like the fact that all the guests are so friendly made you feel great. 90% satisfied would recommend it!

Review 31:Nothing

Review 32:The views were wonderful as was the food. A great place to stay and visit lots of villages as well as the known locations in the surrounding area.

Review 33:Small bathroom, food excellent but too rich for us to eat in every night, so a lighter bar menu would be nice. However this would not stop us from visiting again.

Review 34:Location, staff, food, clean, lovely pools. Will be back again

Review 35:We were there for three days, two of which had weddings on at the hotel, staff were not very attentive to there guests as they were wrapped up in the wedding, hotel menu was limited during these events and also very noisy.

Review 36:The position of the villa and it's surroundings.

Review 37:We did have an apartment, and those were not well located, and had no nice view. We were basically looking onto a parking. Wifi only available in the lobby, often slow and sometimes running out of IP addresses. These days, you expect better coverage and quality. Relatively pricey for what you get.

Review 38:Beautiful, old hotel, superb view from the terrace and pool. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Review 39:- they forgot to clean our room one night - they accept to many people at the restaurant, so you need to wait long - manager is dutchman and tries especially to please dutchmen.

Review 40:- very friendly staff - rooms are cosy and in accordance with the villa - pools - amazing view over the Toscane hill - good dinner

Review 41:The restaurant service is extremely slow.

Review 42:Everything . Big rooms , amazing view , the whole place is beautifully decorated. Nice staff , great location to stay relax and visit Tuscany. Nice pool area , nice staff , very helpful and friendly. Great restaurant .

Review 43:hot water upstairs was a bit inconsistent more fans, cooling needed at times during night as windows cannot be left open due to insects

Review 44:amazing Tuscan/vineyard views comfortable rustic villa loads of space beautiful infinity pool relaxing outdoor space well equipped, spacious bathrooms secluded but not isolated

Review 45:The food at the restaurant was disappointing.

Review 46:Everything about the Villa was old world luxury. Stone double sinks in the kitchen, traditional elegant windows even a luxurious hot tub in one of the bathrooms. Gorgeous location we did not want to leave.

Review 47:The rooms could use some renovations, very basic and need a paint job. The digestif at the restaurant could have been offered after what we spent for dinner (something that was the norm in other restaurants we tried)

Review 48:The grounds and the pools are beautiful. The restaurant is a little pricey but everything was delicious. The staff was very kind.

Review 49:Staff paid more attention to the people that had also diner in thehotel. One girl from breakfast staff was really not friendly (girl withtattoo on her arm was friendly!).

Review 50:The view from the hotel is wonderful, one of the best views we ever had.Nice big swimming pools (2) with enough free sun beds. Lunch menu wasnice. People at the Reception were very nice and helpful!!

Review 51:Beautiful surroundings, how you dream Tuscany looks like. Lies close to the Chianti region where Chianti classico is made, as we learned. Also close to the impressive and gorgeous Florence. Very friendly staff, and they are constantly working hard. Wonderfully maintained hotel down to the last detail, with gorgeous pools, terraces, and sunbeds. Also the food at the on-site restaurant was lovely and delicious. Amazing that we found all this at such a price.

Review 52:After the bustle of Milan, Venice and Florence, this was a wonderful way to relax for a couple if days before hitting Rome. The pools were wonderful. Dinner at the restaurant was amazing. Local wine tasting was great. Wished we'd booked at least another day.

Review 53:Overall everything was great.

Review 54:Aboslutelly brilliant villa! Hotel staff was amazing, the views were great, dinner excellent. We felt like hollywood stars here, service level very very high. I would say definately value for money, we got a good discount on booking_com. No sirds iesaku, ja gribat baudīt luksusa viesnīcu par labu cenu.

Review 55:It was hard to find but luckily we ran into two little Italian girls who helped us find it. We had to use sign language, laughter and pointing but it was fun!

Review 56:The swimming pools and poolside massage.

Review 57:Our family of 10 stayed here for 3 nights. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We absolutely loved everything about this place and would love to come back.

Review 58:Nothing - it was wonderful

Review 59:Relaxing and beautiful surrounds Lovely staff - friendly and helpful

Review 60:Amazing place to stay! The best staff.

Review 61:Staff, booking process, stay ruined by staff at check in

Review 62:Location, pool area

Review 63:No hotel details in the room

Review 64:Lovely location very friendly staff

Review 65:The most beautiful villa with breathtaking views! The food was excellent...the best meal we had in Italy.

Review 66:Terrible room (junior suite), it didn't look like the picture.

Review 67:pretty landscape

Review 68:Perhaps some fly screens on the windows!

Review 69:The position, views and staff were amazing!

Review 70:Charm and beautifull place with a good restaurant. Very close to vineyards.

Review 71:Fantastic food, great view. Love swimming pool and very friendly people

Review 72:Not cleaned before we come. Lots of spiders inside. Door jammed. AC leaked water on the floor. Everything was old and abused.

Review 73:The location only.

Review 74:Great experience

Review 75:Lots to visit and enjoy nearby as recommended by the staff.

Review 76:noise, poor WIFi, no elevator, hard to reach

Review 77:location

Review 78:Peaceful setting, fantastic restaurant, great breakfast and stunning views.

Review 79:Loved it all!

Review 80:Whole experience, good service, helpful staff, ideally situated to explore Tuscany Beautiful scenary.

Review 81:very nice staff, amazing view, great cuisine, very romantic, chic rooms

Review 82:Very nice hotel and good cuisine. Clean rooms with a very nice view over the valley.

Review 83:The food didn't meet expectations, despite being highly recommended.

Review 84:Loved the stunning views and beautiful grounds. Staff were very helpful.

Review 85:poor isolation of noise between the rooms, lack of electric lights in the room

Review 86:Big rooms, excellent bed.

Review 87:The room, the grounds, the restaurant. The pool was beautiful, but it rained both days we were there.

Review 88:the staff is not very thoughtful

Review 89:the pool the view

Review 90:Wifi availability was poor.

Review 91:Beautiful, well kept grounds/pools. Fantastic resturant and a beautiful location. Would stay again.

Review 92:The only disadvantage - you can hear all that neibours say and do.

Review 93:Everything is perfect, expecially athmosphere, food and surroundings

Review 94:The view and pool where great! Also we really like the food and staff in the restaurant. Ratio price / quality of food is excellent.

Review 95:Everything was perfect. Our room was small so they were very nice and offered us a larger room for no additional charge. It was fabulous!

Review 96:Ideal location Loved the view Restaurant was amazing - food and fabulous service (try the risotto) Our room was huge

Review 97:everything, beautiful place!

Review 98:Maintenance, cold pool

Review 99:Location, villa

Review 100:Was very difficult to find at dark

Review 101:Every thing but finding the location at night

Review 102:Room spacious, but lacking fresh air due to a very small window. Make sure you book a room facing the pool side. Restaurant overrated.

Review 103:The location and the swimming pools.

Review 104:No water or tea and coffee facilities in the room, no changing facilities by the pool, check out time was too early (10am)

Review 105:Beautiful views, great food at the resuarant, lots of sun beds by the pool

Review 106:Stayed in the apartments this year which are in need of a little attention. Nothing really to complain about but will go back to villa Belvadere or hotel next year

Review 107:Great location and very helpful staff. 5th year we have come back

Review 108:The cleaning charged was 25euro higher than indicated on our booking. We were told that must have been an error, not mine, but we were still asked to pay.

Review 109:The Tuscan region is amazing and the views from the Villas are breathtaking. The grounds of Villa La Palagina are well kept, very peaceful and tranquil setting.

Review 110:-----

Review 111:I love this hotel and I will come back again. It is so romantic and beatifful. Personal is verry friendly. View was fantastic and peacefull. If you want to feel real Toskana- that is the place!

Review 112:Restaurant is expensive. No evening entertainment when we were there in April...not a lot to do if you are there for an evening. Most of our evenings were spent in Florence ans area.

Review 113:Beautiful location in the country...about a 40 minute drive to Florence. Beautiful grounds and staff was very nice!

Review 114:It's a great place to stay and we definitely recommend it. We just didn't really like the restaurant. We didn't think the food was special and in our opinion you can eat better in the towns near the hotel for half of the price. I think the staff could have been better prepared to give the guests instructions about the attractions and the tours. But they were friendly and ready to help, just didn't have many great advises.

Review 115:Beautiful place, with great view. Very quiet. Close (by car) to many interesting towns to visit. You need a car to get around, because it's not in a city. But the drive is really nice, with the green landscape and the hills. The breakfast is served outside with an amazing view of the hills, and the outdoor area of the hotel is just beautiful!

Review 116:nothing

Review 117:We stayed in the Margarita Villa with a large group and it was wonderful. The view from the house was amazing. We only had some small issues with a toilet and heating but the staff was very responsive and prompt. I highly recommend staying here and wish I could have stayed longer. You definitely need a car. There were restaurants nearby as well.

Review 118:There were only two lounge chairs for 4 person apartment. There were a few cobwebs and no plug for bathroom sink and broken bathroom shelf. None of this spoiled our enjoyment of the holiday and we would definately come back.

Review 119:Our apartment had a lovely patio outside. The pools were fabulous and the location wonderful. Extremely peaceful and beautiful surroundings.

Review 120:The hotel’s position in the midst of the Chianti hills, surrounded by vines and olives trees gives it an unrivalled natural advantage and you should go there just for this. However the complete experience at La Pallagina is much much more - the rooms, the food the staff the value for money are all excellent.

Review 121:Breakfast could be richer. The pay for view cable tv didn't work. The villa we received wasn't very clean.

Review 122:Beautiful place and great location. The house restaurant was also excellent. Very friendly staff.

Review 123:Location was a bit far from anything - 10km drive to find a store -but not a big deal. Room had a bit of dust and cobwebs but wasotherwise clean.

Review 124:Beautiful property among vineyards and olive trees - truly in the Tuscancountryside. Great facility with beautiful pools and delicious food atthe restaurant. Staff willing and able to help/accommodate. Twobedroom apartment was away from the main hotel building but was safe andsecure and had a quiet, private location. Room itself was large andcomfortable.

Review 125:I spent three weeks with my girlfriend travelling europe and la palagina was our favorite part. If you like wine and going to wineries Chianti is the place to be. There is great shopping and Florence is only 20 min drive.

Review 126:Reception staff can be patchy. One receptionist was brilliant, totally welcoming and very helpful when we arrived, the other Receptionist not very good or helpful at all.

Review 127:Beautiful place to stay. Two decent sized inifinity pools (you can properly swim in both!) and overlooking the Tuscan countryside were just perfect - we couldn't decide which pool to sit at so did a few hours at both!! Dinner was amazing - food worthy of a Michelin star in our books. Definitely recommend as a great place to stay close to the Chianti Classico region.
