Reviews for Parkhotel Hasselt
Review 1:The reception wasn't open the two times I went to check-in. The "double bed" was two singles pushed together which quickly separated on the laminate flooring.
Review 2:The price was the cheapest
Review 3:- Old building. So, it could get cold in winter. - Hotel owner not very friendly.
Review 4:- Staff was Kind enough to leave our keys outside, since we got to the Hotel late. - Gas Station near by. Open 24 hrs. Fresh Food available at the Gas Station - The Hotel / restaurant next door is also very kind.
Review 5:The hotel itself is OK. But it is located over 3 miles away from the city centre. Buses stop running back from the centre/train station to the hotel at 8.30pm weekdays. Taxis cost anything from 14-17 Euros one way. The vending machine in reception was empty when I arrived and the coffee machine was broken. There are no shops for miles around the hotel. Not even a convenience store. Buy any food/drink/snacks you want from the station/centre shops before arrival.
Review 6:Friendly staff.
Review 7:no bad experience but parking difficult
Review 8:Very friendly reception. Room adequate and clean. Loved the "continental" breakfast good value for money
Review 9:In general, the place is not very suitable for pedestrians - but this is hardly anything the hotel can be blamed for...
Review 10:Quiet and relaxed athmosphere, beautiful view onto the nearby lake. Good italian restaurant nearby. Breakfast was good and plenty, very accomodating staff.
Review 11:We reserved double room with twin bed and got queen with one planket. We was arranged travel bed for other people and actually that bed was better.. Internet connection went down at second night and owner didn´t want to fix the situation becouse at reseption the wi-fi worked (did not beleave us or wanted to check). We also got some unpolite ponts outs fromowner - althou we did not complain anything but trying to be nice - eaventhou we did have reasen to complain: f.ex. there was tupacco small in unsmoking-room... and TV image was bad.
Review 12:There was lots of room for parking car.. and nice neiberhood for walking with dog.
Review 13:Worn out or damaged floor, stairs, blankets, bathroom equipment, door locks Poor breakfast (no fresh supplies) on days following the weekend. Very weak wi-fi signal in the rooms, although the antenna was right at my room door.
Review 14:Quiet surroundings, parking facility.
Review 15:It was a bit cold in the room
Review 16:My brother and I were travelling from the UK to Italy, we booked at very last second, best price found and quality was good. Breakfast was excellent
Review 17:Bed linen needs to be updated Don't use next door Italian restaurant. An expensive, pretentious place not connected to hotel management
Review 18:Nreakfast buffet excellent Room facilities
Review 19:Bed a little small for someone 6' 2"! but I didn't ask if a room with a larger one was available. Room also quite small but nothing to bother about. There is a rear car park in addition to that at front of hotel, but I could see no sign indicating such.
Review 20:Clean, quiet and a great breakfast. Wi-Fi in all areas (didn't try in restaurant though) which was free and not a paid for option. Very good value at the rates I paid. Should I hav occasion to visit the area again I will use the Parkhotel. Relaxing garden. Free room safe.
Review 21:-The hotel was in the middle of nowhere, an hour walk from town centre. Not the 20 mins they advertise. There is nothing around there except for an expensive restaurant in the nice hotel next door. -They also advertise "luggage storage", but they had no idea what I was talking about when we got there. We ended up leaving our things in their lobby by the front desk, with their assurance it would be fine. It was fine, but it made me uncomfortable that there was no real security. -The woman who owns the place was the absolute rudest person I've met in the hospitality. The morning of our departure she phoned our room 3 times to "remind" us we had to check out at 11, like we were 12 years old and late for school. She then came to our door and demanded that I go in the bathroom and tell my husband he was "showering wrong" because there was a leak in the room below. I told her I would check, but he was still in the shower with the door locked, and we were leaving 20 minutes later so it could've waited, but she was very insistent. I told her it was probably because there was no door on the shower, she replied with "you have to check out at 11", for the 4th time. I then asked her to leave and closed the door, which jammed and it slammed fairly hard unintentionally, but she still decided to yell at me through the door to be quiet and called me an expletive word. She had began the conversation by accusing us of doing something we had no control over, and ended it by calling me a very rude name. When we tried to confront her on our way out, she told me to "shut up". I don't care what you THINK a patron has done, you should never speak to someone that way. One of the worst experiences I've ever had in a hotel.
Review 22:Not a lot.
Review 23:Breakfast no reasoning with owner for late breakfast. expensive for what you got Doesn't deserve a 3 star Dusty and musty rooms, needs a complete renovation, needs new bathrooms, cleaners didn't clean our rooms once. I had to ask for clean towels everyday
Review 24:location Garden

Review 50:Everything
Review 51:No one was on 24 hr reception. We arrived late and they left a key in an envelope stuck on the door. The problem was that it was pitch black and we had trouble finding it and then gaining entry.
Review 52:Breakfast!
Review 53:the hotel is quite far from the city (4 km), so you need a bike or car to get there. if you are happy with the park, this is of course no problem
Review 54:the hotel was, when I booked it, quite cheap. that means there is no point complaining about the lack of a smart of flatscreen tv. wifi was good, hotel room was quiet, breakfast was good
Review 55:The entire hotel would be non smoking, but the room was damp, smoky and beds were terrible, we did not sleep for many seconds that night. We will never recommend this hotel to anyone.
Review 56:Good staff and good breakfast.
Review 57:I don't even know where to start mentioning all the problems we had with Parkhotel Hasselt...Previously in 2010 we had a guaranteed reservation via Booking.com during Pukkelpop festival dates and were refused entry at the hotel, saying it was fully booked! Since payment hadn't been made -only guaranteed by credit card- they simply sold our room to other customers for a higher price, and we ended up going to the festival camping. Now, this past August 2013 the situation amazingly repeated itself but this time we had not only already paid 50% of our stay on the day of the booking -around April- but got charged the other 50% by mid July without even having been warned! -the other 50% was supposed to be paid on the day of arrival-.But that was only the beginning...when me and my friends got to the hotel on Thursday 15th August around 15h the reception was closed to our surprise and called the management. To our complete shock and disbelief the owner was denying we had any reservation there, although we had paid for our whole stay a month earlier -triple room for 510€-. She kept on denying we had any reservation there and kept saying we were at the wrong hotel, refusing any kind of contact with us!! We spoke to the nice people of the hotel next door called Dai Hotel and asked them if they could talk to the manager of Parkhotel in flanders over the phone for us to see if we could sort this situation out. Parkhotel owner kept saying we had no booking at their hotel and was even making up the numbers of other people's bookings to sustain her lies...No one showed up until half an hour later a dodgy looking guy came out and simply said we had nothing to do there whilst he was mocking us by waving goodbye through the reception door!! Then we called Booking.com to explain what was going on and they confirmed our reservation was ok and no one had cancelled it -opposite to what Parkhotel owner was declaring- so they put us on hold while they were contacting Parkhotel.
Review 58:The only positive aspect I can highlight is the location if you're looking to stay during Pukkelpop dates.
Review 59:Location, facilities, breakfast was to early and the people around the hotel where not nice, i would never go again as its probably the worst country i have ever been too
Review 60:The tv
Review 61:The internet was very unreliable. Decoration is dated and a bit worn out. But price is low.
Review 62:Location is nice, in the woods. The road can be noisy though. Very good price!
Review 63:The bathroom looked a bit out-dated. There is no air conditioning, which could be a problem in the summer.
Review 64:Clean, spacious room&bathroom, nice breakfast, good wi-fi.
Review 65:We had booked a family suite, with a double bed and bunk beds, bathroomand kitchenette. The entire hotel and especially our rooms allowedsmoking..the smell was unbearable. The rooms were very tired andequipped on a budget and the items in the room look like they had beenfound in a flea market. The room was dark and depressing and thekitchen....this comprised of a fridge ( too dirty to use), a kettle, a 2ring electric stove which was rusty and a few odd cups and plates andcutlery. The bathroom was so old we didn't use the shower or thebath....we wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone and I am verydisappointed with booking.com as we have been very happy with theirrecommendations before. This was 160 euro per night....I Wouldn'thave paid 20 euro for the night.
Review 66:Unfortunately not a lot;( the beds were ok to sleep in, not toouncomfortable and the breakfast was adequate.
Review 67:Stale smell in room. Shower curtain to long, blocking drain.
Review 68:Location was excelent, nearby customer location. Quick service on checkin / checkout. Nice breakfast facilities
Review 69:We were in the hotel only for 1 noght, because we went to an even in the Grensland hallen in Hasselt. So actually we did only sleep, shower and have breakfast. For that the hotel is OK. But we did not see much of the surroundings because when arriving and leaving it was raining.
Review 70:A little dated and worn. Not really near much tourist stuff. The halls were very dark and it was hard to see.
Review 71:The breakfast was good and the rooms were clean. It was a decent value for the money. Internet signal was strong.
Review 72:Good location outside of Hasselt. Free parking & WiFi. Fit for purposerooms at a good price. Tea/coffee-making facilities in the room. Helpfulowner. I've stayed here previously and would stay again. Book withconfidence.
Review 73:Location is reallly too far away from Hasselt centre, bus connection isgood but unfirtunately ends very early in the evening.
Review 74:Nice place, nice breakfast
Review 75:The rooms were well laid out and the beds were comfortable although the covers were blankets which I found very heavy. The rooms also smelt of smoke and as a none smoker it was quite sickly sleeping in it. Also they gave us plastic cups for our tea, the excuses was given when I asked for a ceramic cup ' I can give you one but you must make sure they are returned to the reception on leaving' I have trouble with people stealing them so I put them in the rooms. This was not as I had hoped, it was not as cheap as others in the location and I would not go back. I think for what I paid for, I should of atleast got proper cups and bed linen.
Review 76:The breakfast was good and a very good veriety of things to eat.
Review 77:Unfriendly staff.Expensive, poor packed lunch. Muddle over payment.
