Reviews for Cefalicchio B&B

Review 1:Wonderful historical place that is very well maintained; very welcoming, extremely kind and accomodating staff and beautiful surrounding (in the country side) with old vineyards and olive trees around.

Review 2:Where to start? The attic room: windows so high you could not see out; very hard mattress; cheap bed; cheap lighting & so poor you could not begin to read; needed screwing up to make steady; one lampshade actually singed; bulbs missing too. Ikea stools as bedside tables (too low). Tiny shower with plastic screen that went hot & cold all the time; WC cistern dodgy; hole in top bed sheet! Dangerously steep stairs to access attic level (6 of 12 rooms); no outside door handles on doors. Photographs online show mainly 2 x 1st floor suites so most rooms shown not accessible to most guests. First breakfast appalling - stale, floppy toast (no fresh bread) & even plastic throwaway cups for orange juice! Second was just passable after we complained. Don't bother with restaurant (run by different people who don't care); no outside tables although parasols in situ. Spa (sauna and hot tub) still advertised but closed 2 years ago. Had to ask for a dog poo outside restaurant to be removed....

Review 3:The location: beautiful house and grounds and a good pool. The sitting area on attic level. The outside loggia there. Salvatore tried hard but did not have good enough English. Not expensive but see other comments.

Review 4:The wider surroundings are a very rural part of Italy, with the local towns not especially well-appointed for travellers.

Review 5:Extremely kind and interesting welcome from Stefano. Unbelievably beautiful building and grounds. Impressive historical decor in the rooms. Beautiful swimming pool in the grounds. Lovely local produce at breakfast. Relaxed atmosphere.

Review 6:Nothing

Review 7:Fantastic old country house, beautifully restored and offering fantastic rooms. Lovely grounds, surrounded by olive trees and vines. Great pool. Very welcoming and helpful stafg

Review 8:Cefalicchio is divine; a B&b that makes its own oil and wine and has a great restaurant. Ten minutes from Canosa, it is serene, restful, and very comfortable. Rossana is witty and super-competent.

Review 9:charming old house - comfortable room. friendly staff. excellent wine. beautiful settings. wifi inside and outside in the garden. I highly recommend this guesthouse.

Review 10:All the staff were particularly friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. A beautiful setting with walks around the vineyard. Simple but tasty food with fresh bakes for breakfast. The vineyard's own wine. What more can you ask?

Review 11:Bathroom very small for a suite

Review 12:I didn't think the management was able to fulfil the potential of the place

Review 13:The position and the property itself

Review 14:got a very warm welcome. wonderful breakfast of homemade yogurt, freshly baked cakes, fresh fruit and cold meats and cheese.

Review 15:Helpful advice...friendly staff...excellent English...fantastic wine. Close to historic picturesque village. Fours days in Puglia well spent.

Review 16:Horrible restaurant, bad food, can be bothered to serve people outside.

Review 17:beautiful room, friendly staff, lovely pool, great setting.

Review 18:services and small bathroom

Review 19:the calm of the localisation

Review 20:Very friendly staff Great wine tour and tasting Good restaurant Dont miss the top roof terace - bring a glass of wine nd enjoy the view

Review 21:Our room was located on the top floor, reachable via a narrow and steep staircase. The bedroom had 2 long but very high windows, so there was practically no view over the garden (contrary to what was stated on the booking form) and it was quite dark. No television and the internet was not working properly The free toiletries stated in the booking form consisted of 1 single tube of shower soap and a tube of aftershave cream. The fridge in the room was empty - It was however possible to get some wine and water from the reception. The breakfast was not the best.

Review 22:We stayed 4 nights in this beautiful villa a few miles away from the town of Canosa di Puglia. Located in a rural setting, is surrounded by a lovely garden with a swimming pool. On our arrival we were offered a glass of wine. There was a beautiful small terrace adjacent our room and a larger one on the floor below that we could use. Unfortunately the chairs and tables on the terraces were covered in dust. It is a place with lots of potential and because of its location should have offered more; perhaps it will get better in summer.

Review 23:Indifferent breakfast - surprising to have plastic bowls and spoons in such smart accommodation. Not an easy place to find.

Review 24:Lovely terrace, plenty of space, excellent food in the restaurant (when available) and very good value for money. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Review 25:- Very (very) hard mattress - Ordinary breakfast

Review 26:- Beautiful, charming house & domain - Kind welcome

Review 27:Beds a bit hard. But seems to be the norm in Italy.

Review 28:Beautiful property. Great wine. Loved it
