Residence Il Gavillaccio is located in an extremely panoramic area bordering Chianti Region and is at the center of an artistic triangle including the cities of Florence, Siena and Arezzo.
The residence is part of a medieval fortified area surrounding the former castle of Gaville, which was destroyed in the 13th century. The establishment is set in the remains of a facility that once served the castle. Today it has been restored and brought back to life, respecting its original character and using traditional materials. Nonetheless all the apartments offer state-of-the-art comforts.
The complex is set 4 miles from Figline Valdarno. The village's historic center boasts a beautiful town square where you can find various shops, boutiques, pharmacies, pubs, restaurants and banks. Figline is also served by a train station, with trains leaving for Florence S.M.N. central station every half hour.

Review 2：Beautiful furniture and textiles everywhere. Handpicked antiques. Fully equipped kitchen with nothing left to ask for. Extremely nice staff. Pretty patio. Huge appartement with lots of space.

The pool was immaculate with stunning views across Tuscan hills. The cats were so cute and friendly. Lorna was very welcoming and provided great advice about visiting Florence by train. A great location for visiting Chianti & Casentino regions.

Review 9：Very nice location, perfect for families and those who want to be 'out of the world'. Very nice appartments, with all what is needed for cooking, sleeping, TV, internet, great pool and sport possibilities. And all aroung proud and friendly cats:-). Put in navi as a city Gaville!!!

Review 10：We had several connectivity issues with our apartment's wifi, which luckily for us was not a big deal, but it might have been a problem for others.

Review 11：It was absolutely perfect! The facilities are even more beautiful than the photos show. The pool area is idyllic and well-kept. Like another post mentioned, the small details in the apartment really make a difference - the vases with fresh cut flowers, the books and CDs, the kitchen stocked with necessities, etc. We truly felt like we were staying at our home away from home! You can tell right away that Lorna has thought of everything to the last detail, and she has wonderful taste. The two cats that roam the premises are so sweet! Also, I must add that the breakfast (10 EUR) was very well done. We definitely hope to visit Residence Il Gavillaccio again!

Review 23：I would have liked more comfortable seating, there was one armchair and a sofa bed which was not very comfortable,apart from the dining chairs. I would also have liked a microwave and washing machine though there was a laundry available at a charge. It can get quite chilly in the autumn evenings and we did resort to heating on one or two occasions. These types of properties are by their nature noisy and the neighbours upstairs could be heard which was a bit intrusive. It is not an easy place to find as there are misleading signs on the road. Guests would be better advised to go into the village of Gaville before looking for the residence.

Review 24：It was a very unusual place, with beautiful views of the Tuscan countryside. Built almost into a rock, it has a fine swimming pool and lovely gardens that are well tended. Our apartment was very spacious, clean and well equipped. We enjoyed the peace and quiet but liked having wifi and television if we wanted it. We liked the eco friendly attitude of the proprietor who had plenty of bins outside for sorting recyclables and who promoted local produce such as olive oil, wine and handmade soaps. Don't be put off by the approach to the carpark.

Review 32：If you are considering staying there, make sure you choose an appartmentwith the view and terrace on the mountains. We were extremelydisappointed with this. The purpose was to sit on our terrace and enjoythe Tuscan mountains. It wasn't the case at all. Our appartment andterrace were facing an old building . Totally defeated the purpose.Although from inside, some rooms had a view on the mountains, thewindows are to small to appreciate. The internet was inconsistant. Noair conditioning. In the description, it mentions laundry service:actually you have to give your laundry to the cleaning lady and theycharge you 5 euros per wash. Not convinient for a family of 4.

Weespecially liked doing (half) day trips to towns and cities and thencoming back to this very relaxing place.
