Reviews for Agrihotel Il Palagetto
Review 1:Make sure you have a GPS because the place is not very easy to find, but that's also why it's so peaceful and beautiful
Review 2:Loved it, the bedroom was really big and comfortable and the view was amazing!
Review 3:This was our second stay here in 4 years. The continued upgrades to the property have paid off for Julia. She makes the stay so pleasant with her "bubbly" personality. We really enjoyed the food and hospitality during our stay.
Review 4:Nothing
Review 5:Absolutely amazing place! We stayed for three days and would have loved to stay longer. The staff is lovely and helpful, the views are stunning and the pool is great. Very relaxing stay!
Review 6:suggestions: 1. clean restaurant tables after use (breakfast) 2. more shade (parasols) by the pool 3. shower larger (at least for our room 12) If this cwould be changed we would rate it a 9 or higher.
Review 7:The room was very well airconditioned and comfortable. The pool is great with it's view over the landscape. The location gives good acces to Siena, Florence, Pisa, Lucca etc. The hotel is very quiet.
Review 8:The view is outstanding, the premises are typical Tuscany farm and is really great. The location is not that far from main villages and cities to see and the swimming pool is also excellent with the view after a tiring day !
Review 9:A little tricky to find the place, but my advice is to follow the SR68 highway in direction to Volterra. Then take the SR439 dir. Just follow the route and read carefully the signs in which you'll find the directions to the hotel.
Review 10:I really love this place, it's the most peaceful place I've ever been. Fresh air, open landmark, a piece of heaven on earth.
Review 11:Even with a GPS and putting in the suggested address, our GPS couldn't find it. We had to use the GPS coordinates, but our GPS took us on some very bumpy dirt roads to get there. We found out the next morning that there was a much easier way to get there by following local signs. I would recommending getting there for the first time when there is still light out.
Review 12:This place is exactly what you would be expecting and hoping for when you want to stay in the Tuscany countryside. It was up on a hill with a 360 view of the rolling hills around it. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. The food was amazing! Everything for dinner was home cooked and fresh. The free breakfast had a big selection of fresh baked good compared to most hotels. I can't wait to go back!
Review 13:Hard to find the location (Booking.com gps coords are not correct, hotel's website is better) Medium qual. breakfest Holes in my sheet
Review 14:Nice area, nice building, nice room Great pool
Review 15:There was not enough employees. Building was dirty, getting in worse shape cause employees do not have time to take care about everything. All bed sheets were covered by big yellow stains- very bad! Swimming pool needs reconstruction and better hygiene.
Review 16:Lady at reception was a hardworker- she did a job for 3 persons.Beautifull landscape and nice old building with medieval atmosphere. It could be unforgettable place, if maintaned well.
Review 17:Very poor service No STAFF
Review 18:Tuscan hills, Infinity Pool and Wine. It had it all, but failed. We stopped here for two days whilst on travelling around Italy on our Honeymoon. It looked perfect and the reviews really good. It’s quite hard to find but when we arrived it looked stunning. Room was lovely; pool was beautiful and couldn’t wait to eat. We got ready and went for tea, sat down in the restaurant and it was quite busy. 10 Minutes to get acknowledged, menus arrive. 30 min in to order drinks. 50 min in to order food. 2hrs and still no food. This we may have been able to deal with knowing it was busy but 3 other couples and familes arrived after us. Ate started and was on mains. Must have been mafia lol. We finally left, having nothing to eat and went to Volterra for tea…. I would return to the hotel as the setting was lovely and Volterra was beautiful. Glad they made us not want to eat in the hotel, however 2hrs of my honeymoon wasted. Hotel lacks staff and if busy be prepared to wait for the simplest things.
Review 19:Broken cot, wasp nest in child's slide, wet floor in one of bedrooms which soaked a suitcase and had to be mopped up at night, lack of staff, booked dinner for children at 6 o'clock. Nobody available to cook. Owner not helpful when these issues were raised. Lack of delegation to the minimal hardworking staff who were on site.
Review 20:The location and the adult food
Review 21:The pool, though beautiful had no shallow end so wasn't really appropriate for kids. The timetable (breakfast from 8am, dinner from 7:30pm) again was a bit later than we'd have liked with a toddler in tow but that's Tuscany, not this hotel in particular. Service in the restaurant was a bit slow and random but friendly and accommodating.
Review 22:This was a beautiful tranquil spot with amazing views all around. The pool was particularly lovely. The restaurant was fairly reasonable in price and suitably local in character. Our room was spacious, clean and quite elegant.
Review 23:- we had to cross the neighobours table and chairs every time to enter our room - towels were missing and when assigned, broken and spotted - air conditioning intermittently working - pretty strict in overall dotation of the room
Review 24:Courtesy of the staff Location in the very middle of the country and its view over the hills Overall the room was clean and bed comfortable The pool
Review 25:This hotel is outdated and feels like not updated since 20 years. Photos of facility are misleading as the current state is not what you expect of a 100 euro + per night hotel room. - The breakfast is tasteless and not fresh. - Cleaning is poor (dust and dirt on bed, furniture, floor). - Bed linens and towels have holes and stains. - Insect screens have holes - Swimming pool has yellow spots and needs restoration
Review 26:- view and location are stunning
Review 27:Far from restaurants, banks, etc., but after all that's why you stay here. To get away from it all and live the Tuscany life.
Review 28:Great value for the money. Breakfast was included with a good variety to choose from and great restaurant location with views. Not close to towns but there is a good restaurant on site. Great staff, very friendly and accomodating. Clean and comfortable rooms. Beautiful location.
Review 29:The hotel is currently very understaffed hence fairly rudimentary cleaning. It is very much in need of maintenance the towels are full of holes and the sheets barely ironed hopefully this will be rectified
Review 30:Position is wonderful with kind staff excellent breakfast
Review 31:Location is very remote - dining choices are limited.
Review 32:Set in picturesque countryside, offering plenty of peace and quiet.
Review 33:Wi-Fi charged if used in the bedroom.
Review 34:Friendly staff, excellent breakfast.
Review 35:Absolutely nothing
Review 36:The beauty of the place
Review 37:Access road not easy to find. Ambient temperature of red wine served at above 30 degrees seems to be too much.
Review 38:Everything wonderful, including food, pool, location, views, room, cats. I wish we could have stayed more than two nights.
Review 39:Location, swimming pool-large one
Review 40:The view was excellent. The stuff was very kind. The breakfast was awsome.
Review 41:The views and the staff were excellent , room very nice, dining room excellent
Review 42:Came in the room unanounced twice. Left stuff to clean with in the bathroom.
Review 43:Excellent view, because you are on top of one of the hills
Review 44:Location Atmosphere Lookout
Review 45:-The quality of the beds -Coffee at breackfast
Review 46:+The Location is Superb with great views +Easy access to all of Tuscany
Review 47:Location Views Food. Price Room
Review 48:wonderful location with 360 degree panoramic views of the Tuscan countryside. very relaxing and very friendly staff led by Giulia. excellent food especially the steaks
Review 49:Directions/Signs could be better as got lost.
Review 50:Location and views was best of all our stays in Tuscany. Infinity pool. Modern room. Comfy bed. Nice restaurant.
Review 51:We spent one night on the way to Elba. Fantastic Tuscan views, peace and total relaxation on the go. Maybe a little hard to get to the destination. I would recommend for people who like detachment from the crowds. Near the 20 to 30 km two wonderful small and charming towns. Good restaurant. Highly recommended for a relaxing break or stopover.
Review 52:Staff not particularly welcoming at all Room very noisy could hear people upstairs on tiled floors and water gushing when toilet or shower used. Bidet smelt unpleasant as soon as we arrived as if it had not been cleaned properly Staff unfriendly at breakfast no welcome or greeting and had to wait for place settings even though our arrival noted Meals expensive 20 euros for antipasta was too much even if it was to share....wasn't worth it Seemed to be a different menu for overseas visitors....we were put on a table some distance from others and are always suspicious when this happens Seemed to be in a rush to make up room on departure day - fresh linen left outside room very early not really any need fr this Breakfast was only adequate - nice range of cut fruit and cakes
Review 53:Beautiful setting and views Lovely pool Fantastic outside space Left alone therefore felt like home Free wifi in a zone provided Friendly cats Dinner good quality albeit expensive
Review 54:The street signs to reach the place should be improved becasue gps doesnot help much, the hotel facilities are in the middle of nowhere, faraway from main streets or town; the restaurant waiters could be moreprofessional and communicative.
Review 55:The location is amazing! The perfect place for a romantic weekend in theTuscan countryside.
Review 56:Unfortunately our room came with two singles pushed together to make a double. It did not affect how we enjoyed the hotel and was not a problem I felt I needed to raise with the staff.
Review 57:The whole set up was excellent. The staff couldn't do enough to help you, whether it was about your room, the local towns or where the nicest beaches were. They also spoke very good English. The room was great with everything you could need and was overlooking the valley and Volterra.
Review 58:Bed was like a brick, 1 pillow each,4 hangers and no glasses but wdid getmore hangers and pillows next day!! We took far too manyclothes. The pool was down a hill but we new that, no sun bed coversjust bare plastic!!
Review 59:The nice lady waited until midnight for us to arrive, had a great roomwith no steps as I hvae heart problems, and a fab view from windowstunning country side
Review 60:We had a room on the first floor of the the main building (no. 10), which was ok, but quite simple. No balcony, terrace or other private sitting area. Enough places to drop down outside, but it would have been a plus.
Review 61:The location! Great views, nice swimmingpool, friendly staff, fine food.
Review 62:When we arrived at the hotel, the receptionist was confused about ourbooking. She didn't know what room to give us, and she couldn'treach the owner, so we had to wait for quite a while before we couldsettle in. We had dinner there, but the food wasn't great (notreally refined). There was not much variety for breakfast.
Review 63:An excellent view over the Tuscan mountains.
Review 64:Tv isn't working. There was only cold water. Meals are expensive.Bathroom sanitary was broken. You can find better around, probably withdiverse rates.
Review 65:Perfect location, along tuscan hills
Review 66:A little too quiet at meal-times. I suggest some background music. What about organising a wine tasting event?
Review 67:Location, Location, Location Friendliness of the Staff
Review 68:the rooms we got didn't really look like those on booking.com website; the place needs a bit of maintenance here and there, and the water of the swimming pool wasn't clean
Review 69:Although it is not easy to find, the view is amazing!
Review 70:Make sure that you get good directions from the website (which I did not do). Hotel is not on most GPS and we ended up waaaaay off course late at night. Otherwise, no complaints.
Review 71:Although this place was difficult to find at first--especially at night, it was well worth the effort. Leopoldo and Giulia were amazing! The location is perfect as a place to explore Tuscan hill towns, 15 minutes from amazing Volterra. The property is idyllic. We took a cooking class with Marco in the kitchen and learned how to make three kinds of fresh pasta. It was a highlight of the trip!
Review 72:I loved the remote location so much. The gps actually got lost but wefound it by a helpful neighbor. A wonderful place, absolutely nocomplaints. A beautiful restaurant and a big free breakfast. I would goback in a heartbeat and visit the town of Volterra next time, too!
Review 73:A typical boring italian breakfast, in a dreadful Breakfast/dingroom. That they could easily bring up to date...
Review 74:The staff was excellent, extremely helpful and proactive, even if we arrived at 1.30 after midnight. The rooms were big with a view over the Leaning tower. Ecxellent location. The hotelis a bit run down, but clean and niet.
Review 75:View of the countryside from the terrace was obscured a bit, walk down steep path to the pool, finishing touches needed here and there outside on walk ways and gardens
Review 76:Very nice room, nice freindly staff nice pool
Review 77:The coffee at breakfast was bad as it was from an instant coffe machine. Pool had a lot of dead insects floating on the surface, they could have cleaned it much better from insects. We booked doubleroom superior with terrace as we thought we would get a private balcony/terrace, but it turned out it was a shared terrace. I think no rooms had a private terrace.
Review 78:Breakfast OK, but not the best we have had. Youghurts were the cheaper brands (no pieces of fruit in them), bread the standard white bread. Salami/ham, cheese, marmelades, cornflakes, some different cakes, etc. The setting of the hotel is magnificient, fantastic views. The pool was nice, very big and with view over the hills around.
Review 79:Very very nice. Great location. Beautiful countryside. Staff works hardto make visit enjoyable. Also serve full dinner; was told for thoseinterested, also pu on cooking class bu need to book in advance.
Review 80:The quality of breakfast and specialy evening meal to be improved. TheRoast was cold and a very small portion.
Review 81:The position is fantastic; very difficult to find ( even with anavigator ) staff very friendly, rooms very clean, beds verycomfortable.
Review 82:It was the most romantic hotel I have ever seen! It is situated on ahill, with panoramic view of Volterra and Tuscany hills...magic... Ourroom had a sunset view behind Volterra as well! The weather wasmarvellous: 20 c in February! The way to the hotel from the Volterra-Pisa road is just 1,5km off----rural way, but well signed the hotel. 9Kmfrom Volterra, than see Cozzano village sign on your right (at the 2ndcross, not at the first!), and you arrived in the middle of the nature,in the middle of Tuscany hills...in the middle of romantic Italy...andthe hotel has several cats.
Review 83:Love the location of the hotel. It is I'm the middle of Tuscany, cozy and very family oriented. We had a great time there. The food is excellent!
Review 84:Can only be reached by car
Review 85:Very beautiful place. Good value for money
Review 86:Wifi didn't work to well.
Review 87:Delightful, relaxing hotel, about 10 minutes from Volterra. Beautiful and relaxing setting, very calm and soothing.
Review 88:Surrounding, very friendly staff, swimming pool, view to the Voleterra and hills. Good cost benefit.
Review 89:The room are too small and the breakfast is very continental
Review 90:View is amazing
Review 91:Room dull and dark. Pool exposed and dirty Midges
Review 92:To be find better get direction from desk. Very nice located on top of mountains. Beautiful view. Good for relax in beautiful Tuscania area.
Review 93:Everything was perfect. Thank you for making our stay so remembering.
Review 94:Location, service, food.
Review 95:Some roads to get their were in poor condition
Review 96:Beautiful Tuscan country views, great food and a warm rustic feel
