Reviews for Locanda Al Castello

Review 1:Access for cars is very difficult and therefore parking for a larger vehicle has to be in town.

Review 2:Welcoming reception from owners and help with luggage. Great views from room.

Review 3:Family run B&B, and everybody very helpful Room had balcony and an amazing view. Quiet location at end of a very narrow street. (Thankfully we had a car small enough to make it through). Easy walk down to the beach.

Review 4:Stunning location with fantastic views from the bedroom. Owners were very helpful and provided excellent service. Restaurant was very good. Road to this location was extremely narrow and the owner even offered to drive the car to wider roads for us.

Review 5:Nothing

Review 6:Very welcoming. Helpful staff. Warm friendly family atmosphere. Went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and at home. Very safe a d secure. Fantastic views. Best possible location at the top of Peschici. Maria the proprietor knows everything about the place and looks after everyone!

Review 7:Long walk with cobble stones and steps from bus station and to beach.

Review 8:Amazing view of Peschici bay, beach and sunset from our room. Staff, mostly family members, very friendly and helpful.

Review 9:Cold water in the shower. Hard to find parking place.

Review 10:Beautiful view of the bay from room's terrace. Firendly and helpful staff. Wonderful restaurant on the house.

Review 11:We expected Peschici to be quiet and quaint and weren't prepared for this pretty little bustling town. The view from our room was an amazing panorama of beach and town. The hotel owners were friendly and welcoming, as was everyone else we encountered there.

Review 12:Vey flakey wifi

Review 13:Great view although a long climb from the harbour and beach. Very narrow lanes to access the place meant I was very glad we did not have anything larger than our VW Up.

Review 14:One of our group had an accident requiring medical treatment and the host family couldn't have been more helpful in providing transport to medical centre, pharmacy and translation assistance.

Review 15:I always stay here when I visit Peschici. It is a true family-run hotel. The staff go out of their way to help. The hotel has good views over the bay or promontory, and is well situated for the old town and the steps down to the beach.

Review 16:Nothing at all.

Review 17:Overlooking the Adriatic, a lovely old house in a town of character. Maria is a wonderful hostess and a great cook. Breakfast is fresh and plentiful.Getting to Peschici on public transport, exploring inland and along the coast, is manageable, just arm yourself with Ferrovie de Gargano timetables!

Review 18:Personal inability to drive to exact location but very appreciative of Maria's driving skills.

Review 19:Location, location, location. Fabulous view from our terrace. Excellent fish/seafood menu and accompanying wines.

Review 20:Service at dinner was a bit slow, but we were the only guests. Our meal time clashed with the owner's family meal so we were left to ourselves for a while.

Review 21:Great location with stunning view from room balcony.

Review 22:Wifi didn't work in the room which wasn't too much of a problem.

Review 23:Great location, with a stunning sea view from the balcony. Very nice little town to explore, although if you go down to the sea be aware it is a fairly steep walk down a lot of stairs. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent and the hosts charming and helpful.

Review 24:Very, very old basic hotel. In the bathrooms no heating so we were freezing... The air conditioners were not strong enough to warm up the rooms. The prices too high for this kind of standart. Generally nothing to do in this town.

Review 25:The owner helped us to park the car in town as the streets were to narrow to reach directly to the hotel. She also helped us with luggage.

Review 26:I can not find fault with the hotel and the way we were treated.

Review 27:We had the quadruple room with a large terrace and some of the best views imaginable. The restaurant was very good for all the family, especially for sea food and a good breakfast too.The owners and staff made us feel very welcome and were very nice people to meet. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a lovely family run hotel.

Review 28:Fabulous location looking down onto the beach. Room 3 has a small balcony and wonderful views of the sunset. The owners were very helpful, cooking a special gluten free meal for us one night and offering to drive our car out of the `Centro Storico. Access by car through the narrow streets is interesting but not impossible -just take it slowly! We visited in October and were lucky to have glorious weather, warm enough to spend the days on the beach and swim in the sea. The 'holiday season' was over (in fact it ended early this year due to floods in September) but those places that were still open had a more relaxed atmosphere - the owners were out sunbathing too! The whole area of the Gargano has wonderful scenery to rival the Amalfi coast, but without the crowds.

Review 29:Tricky (in places) to get a car down the narrow lane through the old town, best to park outside, spaces in Viale Kennedy are free of charge (don't park in the blue or yellow boxes) and a short walk, once you've dropped your bags.

Review 30:Friendly people, good restaurant, proximity to town/bars/other restaurants, great view from room terrace

Review 31:The staff here are so lovely!! They made us feel right at home. The position is excellent, in the heart of the old town, which is so atmospheric. It means it is on pedestrian streets which you can't drive on in the evening, so we found it easier to leave our car outside of the old town walls and walk in along the pretty cobblestone streets, because driving here would be a bit difficult. The view is wonderful, some over the bay and beach, and some over the water. The room and bathroom in particular was large and clean. Very simply and modestly furnished and quite dated, but very comfortable none the less. We ate at the inhouse restaurant and it was delicious. Breakfast is a good spread, lots to choose from and very fresh. Totally recommend this place for its atmosphere, position and lovely people!!

Review 32:Very noisy at night - can close all windows to make it quieter and there is Arizona but air con old a bit smelly and noisy. Difficult todrivesiwn round to locanda - staff very helpful with this but can't drive car to locanda in the eve - roads are closed. Did not expect this from information on web

Review 33:Lovely location

Review 34:Nothing - superb stay.

Review 35:We had a wonderful stay in Locanda Al Castello and the staff were absolutely fantastic. We had trouble finding it by car as the signs indicated we could not drive into the small streets, however after abandoning the car and walking there, Maria's father returned to the car and helped drive it in. Good parking once there. We had room 3 and had a glorious view over the whole bay of Peschici. There is a short cut down stairs for a swim and a regular bus to bring you back up again. Very quaint town with a Greek influence in the buildings. Unfortunately we were only there 1 night and were meeting friends for dinner at another restaurant so couldn't try the hotels - however it seemed very popular.

Review 36:Not easy to park - we decided to rent a parking place nearby despite of crossing the so-narrow streets full of tourists

Review 37:Nice view - it is amazing actually Lots of restaurants and gelaterias nearby Good price Nice staff - we received a small gift either which we was very happy about Tremiti islands is near :) - must to see

Review 38:Access by car to the hotel is a little tricky - a call to the hotel beforehand would be a wise move!

Review 39:This is a wonderful small and simple family run hotel. Staff make you feel welcome and all were very helpful. We couldn't fault the service given at this hotel. Our room with a balcony overlooked rooftops towards the magnificent bay. The location of the hotel is very good being set in heart of old Pesichi. Within very easy walking distance there are many restaurants, however the hotel has a wonderful place to eat of its own serving a range of local dishes many featuring fish. We love our food and are always keen to try out new places, however after eating here on our first night we very quickly decided to eat in the hotel on each of our three nights. The cooking was excellent especially as it used locally caught fish. The homemade pasta was terrific too. Wine was available by the carafe which we think is great - no need to pay inflated prices for a bottle. At the end of each meal we were offered homemade limoncelo which was truly magnificent; something not to miss! The hotel has good parking facilities.

Review 40:The view from our room was an absolutely amazing panarama, from th coast across to the hills. Maria went out of her way to help us with parking, drivi us to and from our car upon arrival and departure.

Review 41:Location in the historic center (the old castle itself!), up-to-date and comfortable facilities, great view.

Review 42:wi fi not great in the room, but that not a deal breaker

Review 43:Friendly owner and staff

Review 44:Staff and breakfast. Drive into front door is a tight squeeze but fun.

Review 45:Beautiful view from our room with terrace, overlooking Peschici beach. Maria was very welcoming and made us feel at home.

Review 46:Maria and the view

Review 47:It is a little on the expensive side (as Peschici)

Review 48:The view, the location and the staff

Review 49:A little difficult to get to by car.

Review 50:Staff are very helpful. Restaurant food is excellent

Review 51:Couldn't get the wifi to work That's all

Review 52:Amazing location Friendly and helpful staff

Review 53:The view from our bedroom was excellent. The owners were very very helpful especially about the car parking

Review 54:Unbeatable location in the old town, great views, generous breakfast, good wifi connection and very friendly & accommodating staff.

Review 55:Great position, great views, very friendly and helpful owners

Review 56:WiFi didn't work in our room - but was fine in the restaurant.

Review 57:Fantastic view. Very friendly owner who speaks very good English.

Review 58:Food was very simple but amazingly good

Review 59:Very nice and helpful staff. Great view. Nice room. We loved this place!

Review 60:Nothing - just a bit hard to get into but they will help you if you ring them - even driving the car in for you.

Review 61:Friendly and helpful family who run it cannot do enough for you! Don't expect much English - but you are in Italy so go with it! Food is fantastic and so are the views over Peschici!

Review 62:Finding the place by car is nearly impossible the first time but well worth the effort. Park outside the Centro storico if you can and walk in - it's not far and the streets are very narrow. There is parking at the Locanda if you make it in.

Review 63:Fantastic views from the terraces of the upper rooms. Very welcoming atmosphere. Would definitely go back.

Review 64:Very, very, narrow one way street access - good job we had a small car!

Review 65:Great balcony views overlooking the sea. Friendly atmosphere and the owners are very helpful. Situated in the old town, full of character.

Review 66:This was the best ever! A beautiful place in the historical city. Extremely nice people and very helpful. Call the owner when you approach the old town. It is not very recommendable to drive yourself and they gladly drive your car for you. And what a view!

Review 67:Nothing negative to say.

Review 68:A warm and friendly family run hotel. Great location in the old town with beautiful sea view. We had a very nice dinner in their restaurant.

Review 69:Great location, gorgeous views from rooms over sea and beach, friendly family-run feel.
