Reviews for Hotel Sacher Wien
Review 1:None at all.
Review 2:We had a perfect wedding at Hotel Sacher, Salon Maria Theresia. From the very beginning, the level of attentiveness and respect of the staff exceeded all expectations. Our requests were promptly fulfilled - flower arrangements, catering, signage, bookings etc. were delivered without fault. After the wedding we had a photo session in the hotel's magnificent settings, with the staff guiding us through some of their historic rooms. The next morning we had a delicious breakfast in the room and watched ballet dancers rehearse on the top floor of Vienna State Opera. We also loved the spa and the bars at the hotel. Definitely an experience to remember, thanks for making that day so special for us!.
Review 3:The furniture in the top deluxe room is a bit outdated. We asked for anti allergic pillows and duvets, and it took quite a long time before the housekeeper came, she just left them and took the other ones without making the bed again. The majority of the guests are 65+ years old, maybe not a really comfortable feeling for a family with a toddler.
Review 4:Beautiful hotel in the center of Vienna. Great location. Most of the staff are very friendly.
Review 5:We were not offered a top deluxe room with good view we had made reservation for.Instead the offered an old degenerated suite with a small window against a wall!We had to wait to long to get our room! Delay 1 hour!!!!!
Review 6:Close to the Opera!
Review 7:The only tiny irritation was that there was no tea or coffee facility in the room. Other than that.......perfect.
Review 8:An excellent hotel in a prime location in the centre of Vienna. Exquisite room with large bathroom and shower facilities. Everything to the last detail was perfect. The Hotel is one of the best in Europe. Excellent service from Receptionists, waiters, bar staff, chamber maids.
Review 9:We stayed in the hotel several times in the past. It still is my favorite hotel in the world. Very special and discreet atmosphere. Gorgeous rooms, great restaurants.
Review 10:The spa was very small but these are old buildings so that is to be expected
Review 11:Luxurious rooms and bathrooms. The staff were tripping over themselves to help us.
Review 12:Nothing!
Review 13:Fantastic location, old world charm, beautiful decor and stunning bedroom suites. Calming environment and so quiet despite the city centre location. Staff bent over backwards to help- the concierge in particular was fantastic.
Review 14:Lovely hotel in a great location for sightseeing. The staff was very attentive and solicitous, the room was very nice and clean, and the food was excellent. We felt pampered and well cared for during our entire stay. What a wonderful experience and would definitely go back!
Review 15:Meeting of European ministers regarding Syria took place during that weekend so too much security and police everywhere also at the hotel lobby
Review 16:All was great nothing to complain about.
Review 17:- I wish there was a coffee machine in the suite. - the concierge staff were not friendly. I greeted them most of the time but no one greet back while they should star with greetings or at least smile. - the pillows were low which was not good for neck support. - heating wasn't good enough in the suite. Although it was fine in the living room but was bad in the bedroom. - the bed was not a king or queen size bed but was two joined single beds. - the receptionist who handled our check out was cold (not friendly) but to be fear she wasn't rude.
Review 18:- the location is excellent although it's noisy. - The upgrade to suite because we were staying for 7 nights was great and my thanks to Tamara from reservation for that. The suite was comfortable although its decoration was very classic. - The bellmen were very friendly and helpful. - The receptionist Manuel was very welcoming and friendly.
Review 19:Perhaps the breakfast, even though it's really good, could improve a bit. We understand there's a lot of guests, but something could perhaps be done about the presentation. We would also prefer a bit more quiet environment. But please understand these are small things.
Review 20:As close to perfect as you can get. The staff is exceptional. The blue bar, the green restaurant Anna Sacher and the beautiful room, all was absolutely perfect..
Review 21:I thought my Bookings price included two breakfasts but breakfast was not included in the Bookings price.
Review 22:The hotel was the second best of all hotels I have visited and I travel over 100 days per years fro the last 5 years. The hotel is expensive but more than worth it and the breakfast is the best I ever had. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. The location was perfect and the comfort supreme!
Review 23:Hotel Sacher Wien offers the accomodation everybody woud love but not everybody could afford. On my vacation (I have travelled and stayed on all continents) I prefer to stay at the best hotels but the Sacher Hotel was still something special. The service and the rest were second to none. I would highly recommend this hotel to anybody looking for the memorable stay, The Sacher Hotel maks Wien even a more desirable location.
Review 24:Beautiful rooms, restaurants and all other places in the hotel. Great staff and excellent service. We cancel our reservation of another hotel in our last night in Vienna and stay in Sacher again. Definitely will come back if we visit Vienna in the future!
Review 25:Absolutely nothing
Review 26:Everything! This is a hotel that is a cut above the rest. I would highly recommend it, and look forward to returning. The staff were exceptional.
Review 27:hope can stay longer
Review 28:Elegant hotel at the heart of Vienna. Very nice room. Staff are extremely helpful. Sacher Cafe is also a nice place to hang out. Major attractions within walking distance.
Review 29:Everything was special. There was nothing we did not like.
Review 30:Personalized service, warm and friendly, always helpful. Superb chocolates and fresh fruit in room on a daily basis. Special anniversary coming up? They remember!
Review 31:The room was a bit small, but the space was efficiently used.
Review 32:We had heard that Vienna might be stuffy, formal and unfriendly. Our experience at the Sacher was just the opposite. This is a grand hotel with a staff that is warm, personal and attendant to detail. A delight. Breakfasts was outstanding. We would be happy to return.
Review 33:Zero issues.
Review 34:Remarkable location, customer oriented, top luxury, varying roomoptions, best concierge, many facilities, great air circulation, fastWiFi, good tv channels selection.
Review 35:The concierge was useless and was not helpful at all. I suggest the hotel management to replace them with more interesting people in the job.
Review 36:Everything else was perfect
Review 37:We spent two nights at Sacher for our wedding. Upon arrival we got upgraded to a fantastic suite on the top floor with balcony (I think there are only a handful rooms with balcony) with splendid views. When we came back after the wedding there was a big bunch of long-stemmed white roses, a handwritten note from the hotel director and a CD with jazz music from their Blue Bar waiting for us. The bed was decorated with pedals of red roses. Service was impeccable and the food very good. We had probably to best stay ever in any hotel.
Review 38:The Famous Sacher Red Bar was full on a Sunday, and had tried to make a reservation there as our Opera started at 4pm. So the Concierge staff gave us some alternate suggestions, had already made reservations for us (which was very thoughtful), but we didn't go to any of their options as all were 2nd or 3rd rate. So surprised that the staff was not more sophisticated in this area.
Review 39:We ended up in an extra-ordinary Suite for your price of a "delux room." Quite an amazing experience! Felt like we were part of the 19th Century Viennese Nobility, canopied bed, fantastic bathroom, desk, sitting area. Wonderful and original art work from the 1850s. And, we give them 5 stars for only having a "tiny" TV, which we never turned on. Would have given them 6 were there no TV at all, but we do understand that we are in a minority on that issue.
Review 40:The staff has become like family. Conceirge service is second to none. Very accommodating to our travel needs and super helpful at making our "wishes" happen.
Review 41:Absolutely everything was good and in excellent level :) Luxury rooms are clean and quiet, hotel service is top level high and professional. Breakfast is excellent and of course the location - it's best of all as it's in the heart of Vienna ! Thank you for making our stay unforgettable !
Review 42:Air conditioning didn't cool quickly.
Review 43:Everything. The location is great, service was superb & best of all, the upgraded us to a suite from the Top Deluxe Room that we had booked.
Review 44:I would suggest if a guest is planning on having an evening meal in one of the restaurants at the Hotel Sacher make sure to make a reservation as soon as possible. The restaurants are excellent and can be continuously busy places.
Review 45:The staff was so professional and friendly. The Doormen and the Bell Captains are amazing as they handle arrivals and departures. The front desk and concierge are a pleasure to do business with and the restaurant staffs are busy because they are so great, so make a reservation for meals.
Review 46:We were disappointed in the restaurants - high hopes but got very high prices instead with no justification (mediocre bowl of soup costs 8 Euros) and the Sacher Torte is dry and not worth the price. (Locals told us that although they call it the "original" in a court case, another place kept the original recipe...go figure.) Also, the pillows were down - fine if you like that but absolutely no neck support. Finally, there is a bit of "snootiness" going on here - lots of attention to the pictures of famous people on the walls so that you "understand" how great a place this is. I tend to make these decisions based on facts on the ground and not reputation so I didn't appreciate the attitude...
Review 47:The location is terrific - walkability to everything. Buffet breakfast is also very good. Decor is "old" Vienna - exactly what we were looking for rather than a chain. The service was as it should be for the caliber of this hotel.
Review 48:Loved Hotel Sacher. The staff was wonderful, the hotel beautiful. The location was perfect, across from the Opera House and Albertina. It was easy to walk or take the metro everyday. The concierge was incredibly helpful and his suggestions were right on target. Easter in Vienna at the Sacher, it was the perfect trip.
Review 49:Excellent and very convenient location. Artistically decorated rooms with meticulous thought given to every detail for comfort. Professional, welcoming and helpful staff.
Review 50:The best hotel I have ever stayed at! Located opposite the opera house , this hotel has the best location of all of the hotels in Vienna - we did go for drinks at the other hotels but were glad we had booked this one. Faultless service from concierge and all of the staff at the hotel. Amazing breakfast.
Review 51:None
Review 52:Travelling as parents for an opera performance with a small child babysitted by her grandmother, we booked two rooms - an upgrade for adjoining suites was the first pleasant surprise. Personal greeting by the hotel director was a nice gesture as well. The interior of the rooms were classy, the bathroom is elegant, the reception staff and the concierge did a flawless job in meeting our requests. We have also tried Restaurant Sacher, and enjoyed a great fine dining experience there. This great hotel lived up to its name!
Review 53:Free upgrade and bottle of champagne on arrival.! The staff went out the way to make the stay as perfect as it could have been, could not have asked for more! Absolutely Beautiful hotel, best I'll ever stay in I think!
Review 54:The ” deluxe room" size and conditions. The management unhelpful, argumentative, rude behavior.
Review 55:Location. Breakfast buffet. Choosing to move out after one night stay to the Park Hyatt Vienna.
Review 56:Everything was superb. No complaints at all.
Review 57:The central position was wonderful. The support from all staff particularly the concierge was second to none. The room was faultless. The breakfast excellent but pricy. Worth spending some time exploring the art work on display in the hotel.
Review 58:I cant find a single issue to complain from whatever I needed was just there thank you sacher hotel for everything
Review 59:I loved the classical Style of the hotel in general the furniture , the colours and the fabrics they have used in the whole hotel also I like mostly the size of rooms and bathroom in addition to the layout of the bathroom every thing was just right , elegant, and classy, also most important the sacher cake that you should not miss , adding to that the chocolate and fruit they generously provid daily in the rooms but I like most the cleanness of the rooms and bathroom
Review 60:(1) the water temperature in the shower was only just comfortably war even when set on maximum - which said 50deg but was nothing like (2) the shower head was old and difficult to get into a good position (3) the curtins did not keep out the lights from the front of the hotel to the degree I would like unless positioned by me and held there with a chair or something.
Review 61:Service staff excellent, but at a level one would expect.
Review 62:We were initially given a room with a poor view which did not look like the pictures in the website. We were told that it depended on your luck. Luckily the front desk was accommodating and when we requested, moved us to the room we saw online. They then forgot our selected option if the daily newspaper. This process of transfer was not what we would expect from a hotel of this reputation. They do not have any coffee or tea maker. Strangely we only had one water glass though with 2 wine glasses- but no wine opener. We had to share a glass during our 4 day stay. Finally our showers were property fitted and the hand shower would run with the rain shower.
Review 63:The beds were the best! It was soundproof and well heated. Very comfortable and luxurious rooms. Location was prime and close to everything you needed.
Review 64:Location was superb. Literally in the center of everything. Hotel was gorgeous and service was excellent. i hope to have the opportunity to visit Vienna again and enjoy another visit.
Review 65:No negatives at all!
Review 66:I was travelling with my sister, and we were upgraded to a lovely suite on the 6th floor, overlooking the Opera and the Albertina Gallery. Everything about the room was first class: it was spacious, with huge windows along one wall, comfortable, quiet, and very clean, with luxuriously silky bedlinen. The marble bathroom had underfloor heating, a large separate shower cubicle, a huge bath, two basins - and a fresh white rose in a bud vase! Fresh fruit and chocolates were on the coffee table! So often on holiday one gets a room which is inferior to home, no matter what the star rating - however, this hotel, expensive though it is, exceeded expectations. And the staff could not have been nicer or more helpful.
Review 67:If you like staying at the Waldorff Astoria in NY, then you will like this hotel. Seems like it is meant more for business travelers than for leisure travelers. It is a great hotel and the location is excellent but the restaurant, bar and lounge are full of business people. Concierge very helpful.
Review 68:Nothing
Review 69:We loved the comfort and beauty of this old-style Viennese hotel. Our room was beautiful. We loved the magnificent dining room. The service was second to none. We thoroughly recommend this ideally positioned hotel.
Review 70:The hairdryer was very heavy and I had to press the turn-on button continuously. No Nespresso machine
Review 71:Perfect location very clean, comfortable bed, large bathroom, kind staffs
Review 72:Breakfast. Very poor in quality and in service. Way too expensive for what they were offering. Worst TV ever. I'm not a fan of the TV, but they have this old fashion TV behind a mirror. Sacher cake is not that good either.
Review 73:Location was great. Very close to almost everything that matters to a traveler. The bathroom was very good.
Review 74:The hotel is superb. It's located in the heart of Vienna, close to everything you need to see. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is great, a varied menu. The room was gorgeous and extremely confortable. Everything consists of little details that matter. Iwould come back to Sacher anytime.
Review 75:Hotel Resturant claimed all tables were booked for dinner ... However concierge kindly intervened and arranged a booking. It was evident several tables were empty all evening !
