Review 1：A bit further from downtown Salzburg. No problem for me though as I was heading for the airport.

Review 2：Modernly decorated hotel with a touch of Austrian style. Budget room had a good bed, nice bathroom with excellent shower and a separate toilet. Good breakfast buffet. Close to the airport and highway.

Review 3：I didn't have a bad experience but I was disappointed to learn that the hotel was in the process and/or being renovated subsequent to having made the booking. There was no disruption however the room furnishings were a mix of old and new.

Review 10：The hotel is absolutely lovely. Everything has been done with care and great thought. It is more like a four star hotel than a three. Rooms are grest with balconys and nice views. Indoor pool and spa area is great. Breakfast was really really good. Excellent hotel close to Salzburg airport and not far from town either. Lovely!!!

Review 11：This was a gorgeous hotel, with friendly and very polite staff. They sent a minibus to pick me up from the airport which is only 7 minutes from the airport, for free. The room was spacious and meticulously clean. The breakfast was excellent. The restaurant food was a little pricey but very nice food. I have walking difficulties and they ensured that I was catered for. If I return to Salzburg I will only stay at the Hotel Gerl.

Review 12：The room we had was for five adult family members. Plenty of beds but the shower and toilet is surrounded by see thru glass so it became uncomfortable using the shower or going to the bathroom.

Review 13：We just needed one night for five adults before flying out of Salzburg airport and Hotel Gerl was the perfect location. It is only a five minute drive to the airport. The hotel is surrounded by farm land and mountains. They had an indoor and outdoor pool but it rained upon our arrival. There are only a handful of restaurants in the area and most are closed on Sunday's and Monday's. We settled for a Chinese restaurant but the food was awesome. Overall, a nice pleasant stay.

Review 14：The only thing is they don't have any hot water kettle in the room. As I stayed there with my 2 years old son, I needed hot water time to time. However, they arranged it later from the kitchen.

Review 24：Bizarre ensuite bathroom in the family suite with glass walls thatgave absolutely no privacy. Fine for a pair of newlyweds perhaps, but not a great idea for a family room with two rather self-conscious teens! Every time they wanted to use the bathroom we had to locate the room. The hotel is located adjacent to a road taking traffic to the motorway so was a little noisy, but keeping door shut and the aircon on kept it to a minimum. Ashtray on balcony full of cigarette ends and a unwashed table top on arrival was a bit poor, and suggested speedy cleaning after previous guests had booked out.

Review 25：Good location for visiting centre of Salzburg. Great view from the balcony of the mountains. Friendly English speaking staff who offered good advice on travel options to Salzburg. Great place if visiting the city for a day or two. Swimming pool and sauna were great and the (new) room was modern with good fittings and air-con.

Review 26：The outdoor pool was a very attractive proposition after a very hot day in Salzburg. Breakfast selection of choice was good. Hotel staff went out of their way to assist with getting us to the airport. Very attractive reception area. Food at dinner was of excellent quality, and the chef helped us out with gluten-free options.

Review 33：The hotel is suffering from the plague of mosquitoes, there is even room preparation against mosquitoes. you cant sleep well in the night. Besides the hotel there is a chicken coop, so if you left a window open in the room, you wake up early in the morning from the rooster sound. Very small hotel pools. No reception position after 22 o'clock . There is not enough flow of hot water a bath. The family room we got is nothing like the photos on the site.

Review 57：It is possible for me to be one of the few guests totally unsatisfied, but my experience was the worst I had in a hotel booked through booking.com. I booked a room by the usual "intelligent offer", being a frequent user of booking.com. I was expecting to be basic, but not a torture room. I didn't mind too much that windows are covered by drapery to hide the view of a renovation site, as it was somehow warned by the hotel. But I deeply mind to spend 3 hours to hunt over 30 mosquitos which were already my room-mates, before my arrival, not to be able to open the door/window because I would be invaded by other hundreds of insects (I would like to suggest to the owners that wire nets for insects are an usual accessory for the PVC or aluminium windows/doors), not to have air conditioning when temperature is over 30 degrees, to have spider nets and swelled and cracked varnish on the ceiling, finally I really mind to receive a room which would be offending even for servants with the excuse that I paid only 59 euro for it. The only reason not to cancel the reservation and to search another option nearby was that I arrived late in the evening, in a place where I've never been before, very tired and while outside started a storm. If you ask me, I would never rent such a room if I would want to keep my name and prestige of the hotel. I would close the hotel until I would finish all the renovation, then I would open it in the best conditions that I'm claiming to have.

Review 58：This hotel may have premises to become a really 8.6 rate booking.com, but in the future. Really good and rich breakfast, if you can ignore the multiple persisting flies which are inspecting your meal.

Brand new comfortable and clean rooms, outstanding breakfast, nice lobby, friendly staff, fine location (shirt drive into Salzburg). Good value. The hotel parking was full of cars, as it works for airfield parking (!), so it was hard to find free spot, we had to park on a muddy field just by the hotel(!), not to say, our car was whole in mud.

Review 76：Summer heat wave was intense, and we had no A/C. Found out that most rooms had it, but not ours, then they closed up our room when they cleaned so we came back to a very hot room. Tried to charge us to use towels for pool. Some street noise with open windows.

Review 85：STAY AWAY - its a scam! The hotel has to be closed until the renovation is compete. You basically have a room at a construction site: drilling and grinding starting from 7:30 am all workers have to go through the part where guests stay. The new area is right next to the rooms. But also rooms in the old area and the kitchen will be renovated. At breakfast we were sitting next to a builders planning meeting - construction works will last the whole summer 2015!

Review 93：Great location for exploring Salzburg and surrounding area! We were able to reach all the major sites in just minutes from the hotel. We also are always on the lookout for hotels with rooms for large families, where we can all stay together; Hotel Gerl offers several family rooms. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast and pool were also both nice features we appreciated. The area is just beautiful and we enjoyed a lovely mountain view from our room's balcony.

They also make some exercises in the pool for people who live nearby, so, when we wanted to go for a lil swim, it came out that the pool was all busy with some senior women. I guess they arrange that to earn some money during the off season.

Review 119：The pool and pool area, the ambience is just so relaxing. You can also tell from the crystal clear pool water that this is very well maintained and managed hotel. There is a big playground for kids. We are a large group with 6 kids, they all just loved the playground facility. Restaurant service: we met 2 very friendly waiters. good service.

Review 120：When we got to the hotel manager told us that the hotel is full booked. The hotel's computer system does not work and when I arrived at the hotel at around 19.00 manager told us we do not have room because of it. Hotel manager knew about the mess in the morning but did nothing in the hope that someone will cancel the booking and everything will be ok. Luckily we found a room at a nearby hotel and we stayed here only one day of the two booked. is the only time this happened to me. Attention. Call for room booking confirmation otherwise you have no room.

The receptionist contacted us by mobil about half hour before clousing of check-in. And when we went the gearl from hotel team gave us a key of our comfortable room with balcon. And in the morning we had a lot of enjoydue to good fresh breakfast. We were allowed to have breakfast at the garden. It was very convinient for us because we were with our little dog

Review 133：The hotel is very close to a busy road. Our room was facing it so having the windows open in the morning was not much of an option. The outdoor pool was freezing (even in the middle of summer) so thank goodness they had a n indoor pool!

Review 134：Very nice place with a wonderful staff and comfortable rooms. The breakfast was very good with traditional European foods. My kids loved the hot chocolate and the eggs. The location was very close to Salzburg's downtown area (5 - 10 minutes) and we didn't have any issues with parking in the center of Salzburg (during peak season) The indoor pool and trampoline was a hit with the kids (we had 2 families and 5 kids). We would certainly stay again!

Review 136：Spectacular stay for our family of four. Staff was genuinely kind. Room was large with great patio space to relax at night. Restaurant was delicious and well priced. Outdoor space was superb! Pool, trampoline, playset, giant chess board- it was kid heaven! All I had to do was sit there, drink the beer & relax! Short drive to Salzburg & Berchtesgaden, tons of things to do! Wish we had had more time!
