Reviews for Lake Jindabyne Hotel

Review 1:Nope, it was great.

Review 2:The location, right on the lake, is amazing. This was our first Alpine visit in Summer. It was a shame about the single digit temps and rain, but the lakeside location was amazing anyway. The included hot breakfast was hassle free and set the family up for a couple of big days exploring up in the mountains. Our family room was very comfortable.

Review 3:The vanity is out of the bathroom.

Review 4:Location is excellent, right at the water front and close to everything. Breakfast is simple but fresh and abundant.

Review 5:Very well located on the edge of the lake with lovely view, breakfast room pleasant and food plentiful. We had a meal in the hotel and the food was good and we sat on the terrace which was lovely.

Review 6:I was happy to see that they had a swimming pool (it didn't say that in the description). However it was closed. So cannot blame them that they didn't add it but it would be so nice to be able to access is :).

Review 7:Outside chairs were old and dirty. No outside table. Pretty shabby and needs upgrading.

Review 8:Great location. Average accommodation - looking old and tired.

Review 9:Extra space near vanity basins would have been good. Breakfast, although included, was not good - tasteless, colourless scrambled egg, dried up overcooked bacon. You'd be better off going to a nearby restaurant.

Review 10:Great view of lake from room. Spacious, clean, comfortable, very convenient having additional hand basin in separate toilet. Good value. We loved Lake Jindabyne.

Review 11:I had the worst scotch fillet steak I have ever had. It was tough and inedible

Review 12:Great Location with a lake view Facilities adequate & value for money Great buffet breakfast included with room rate

Review 13:Nothing much bad but it's still a wonder why the reception was closed at 4pm. Though it's not a huge issue as check in was smooth.

Review 14:The motel was really comfy and you can park your car right in front of your door, if you are on the ground level. The reception was closed when I arrived which was weird because I arrived at about 4pm. Nevertheless, check in was a breeze because the keys along with an envelope filled with details were left at the bar. The place is quiet and overlooks the lake so you can take a morning stroll if you want to. The convenience store, cinema and many other shops are just a 5 minute walking distance. Especially fantastic about this place is that you can drive up to Charlotte pass in 40 mins to see the snowy mountains.

Review 15:The rooms were clean and modern. Staff were friendly and the location is great, being right next to the pub! Parking right outside your room is fantastic and makes it a lot easier after a big day on the mountain. Breakfast was included too which which was a big bonus!

Review 16:Don't ask for anything that is not out at breakfast (I asked if I could have a fried egg rather than the poached out). You will get a very grumpy response!

Review 17:Location is fantastic and breakfast included makes for great value.

Review 18:Would be good if they had a cappuccino machine rather than the brewed coffee. Would prefer scrambled eggs as an option for breakfast rather than the fried/poached eggs currently available.

Review 19:Breakfast included in price. Good selection of items for breakfast. Bistro is a good option for dinner. The prices are reasonable and the food is good.

Review 20:Late night wake up by noisy partygoers outside our room in car park.

Review 21:Proximity to town facilities, lakefront views, great pub atmosphere with good recently refurbished accommodation.

Review 22:Bring your own pillows as theirs are lumpy. As the location is so central to all the pubs, the LJH is always noisy late at night - bring your ear plugs - there is no such thing as a quiet room - we've been going there for years.

Review 23:Breakfast is the highlight.

Review 24:Fridge was too cold, everything was frozen. Rooms could be cleaned a bit more during stay.

Review 25:Great location and views. Convenience of included breakfast. Comfortable room.

Review 26:For an accommodation facility catering for skiers not to have a drying room was disappointing. As a consequence your room resembled a laundry in an effort to dry our ski clothing.

Review 27:Location, breakfast and size of room for a couple was good.

Review 28:three nobs lighting a webber at 1 am below our balcony smoke came in our room but they were gone next day.

Review 29:convenience to shops. friendly staff in bistro and bar. clean.

Review 30:Wifi was a bit slow, but really cant fault LJH.

Review 31:Great location. Facilities are great and all you need for a trip to the snow! Will defiantly stay again!

Review 32:No bad experience, its just coming from QLD I have to admit that I wish the rooms were warmer. We did get cold and we bought extra blankets

Review 33:The location and vicinity. The breakfasts are a welcome addition and the 10 dollar meals at the hotel were suitable.

Review 34:Our room was right on the end and there was out of range for the wifi, unless we were in the corner of our room. Buffet wasn't great, included in the price of the room so it's better than nothing. We did stop eating there after our 3rd day though.

Review 35:Good location, well priced, bar and games rooms to keep occupied at night. Nice views of the lake.

Review 36:The hotel itself feels broken down and discount. Stuff is held together with cable ties or just broken. Doesn't look like they're investing in the place at all. Would suit people who didn't mind those things. We went somewhere else for dinner and will stay somewhere else next time. Can't believe the prices they're charging. Probably wouldn't return.

Review 37:The accommodation (bedrooms) are in ok condition, good view of the lake.

Review 38:Typically exorbitant price at Jindabyne this time of year. Room was dark, need a few more light bulbs.

Review 39:Nice view to the lake. Close to the centre of town.

Review 40:Wifi not helpful, the bed really hard, stayed there on saturday night it was really noisy my family cant sleep since our room located near the pub

Review 41:Great location and breakfast pretty good

Review 42:Rooms were quite cold and variety at breakfast was non existent, the fourth day of poached eggs floating in water was a chore.

Review 43:Great location and view across the lake, right on top of Nuggets Crossing and restaurants are a walk across the road.

Review 44:After our first night out bed was made but out glasses were not replacedwith clean ones. On our second night our bed was not made however ourglasses were replaced with clean ones..?

Review 45:Location! Wifi! Locationnnnn!!! The connected bar/ bottle shop andthe ease of checking in after reception had closed. The room was comfy, the view was awesome and so were the fascilities. The bathroom was alsonewly renovated which was lovely.

Review 46:1. Didn't have my reservation that was paid 6months prior. 2. Was given keys to an occupied unit as I found out when I entered the unit. 3. Noisy drunks everywhere after 10pm so constantly woke our children. 4. Noisy rooms you could hear everything going on in each unit. 5. Glass doors have nasty draft which was bad since our children sleep in bunk beds in front of doors so we're constantly cold. 6. Woke up each morning to glass bottles n cans on our back porch. 7. No onsite managers our car park was constantly being taken. 8. Check in is at 3pm yet reception closes at 3pm so you have to walk up to bistro to check in???? 9. All outside furniture was a disgrace so outdated. 10. Loud music n people returning from pub on Friday n Wednesday nights. 11. Breakfast was constantly a hit or a miss.

Review 47:The view and that's about it.

Review 48:beautiful view and access to the lake, close proximity to shops and restaurants - supermarket across the road. Great location, easy and short drive to all snow attractions.

Review 49:During rush hour (dinner time), the kitchen staff missed one of the items. Waited for 20mins for them to sort things out. Also the place could use some renovation to spruce up the place.

Review 50:Location!!!

Review 51:Bathroom not quite clean: shower walls and toilet seat had smears on it and shower walls had some hairs on them.

Review 52:Great location, very friendly staff, warm and comfortable rooms, well presented.

Review 53:The cleaner parking outside room 10. This caused our neighbour in room 10 to park outside our room 9. When we got back to our room, the neighbour in R10 would not move and we had nowhere to park until I found the cleaner and asked her to move.

Review 54:Location and the superb view

Review 55:The room we booked was excellent value for money. We paid the extra money for the larger family room & couldn't have been happier with this choice. The included breakfast was hot & plentiful.

Review 56:only bins emptied, no vacuum or bed made or sink wiped. Bonfire out the back would be nice and a light outside and maybe a little more private from next door rooms. No one ever at reception

Review 57:Location, central and lake front; beautiful

Review 58:Bathroom a bit small. Would have liked a room with spa.

Review 59:Great free breakfast. Central to everything u need. Fantastic lake view. Staff r friendly. Simple but very clean accomodation. Have stayed there twice now and will again.

Review 60:Noise travels very easily through walls, sauna wasn't open, I prebooked gluten free bread for my stay but I ended up needing to use my own stash I brought up for emergencies. I'm suprised clean glasses were not provided during stay once used.

Review 61:Great breakfast, warm and comfortable room, close to shops

Review 62:There is no covered access to the breakfast room so it can be a little bit annoying when it rains. The wifi in our room drops every now and then.

Review 63:The room is clean and spacious. The lake view feels so relaxing to look at anytime of the day but most especially in the morning. Some recreation in the area if you don't feel like retiring early.

Review 64:Contact with reception or staff was impossible due to no intercom in the room. No checkout info. No room service. Vanity was located outside the bathroom next to the main door.

Review 65:Cleanliness and location

Review 66:No hot water, especially after a cold day in the snowies you want to come back to a hot shower but unfortunately the showers were barely lukewarm even with the hot water full blast and cold water turned off.

Review 67:The room were clean with a great view, both comfortable and roomy. Close to restaurants and shops and not too far from the national park either.

Review 68:Need to extend the hot water timer, shower goes cold too quick.

Review 69:Great relaxing stay, awesome views of the lake and sunrises. Best value for money accommodation in Jindy.

Review 70:No shampoo and no hot water during peak times (save your showers for midnight or 2am!!!) The water pressure is abysmal! Not to mention the bursts of ice cold water when you're in the shower. Requesting a full refund

Review 71:Location, breakfast

Review 72:Nothing to complain about

Review 73:Great location in the centre of town, including a view of the lake. Good basic accommodation for a great price (at least out of season). Breakfast was basic but adequate. Room sleeps up to 4 without being too cramped.

Review 74:Arrived in driving rain and reception was closed. Finally found someone who told us we had to check in via the bottle shop, we had no way of knowing this as there were no signs posted. Had a meal in the resturant which was disappointing as the entree came with the main meal.

Review 75:Location, free breakfast

Review 76:The pressure in the shower was jot very good. It was not hot enough.

Review 77:The bed was very comfortable and the location was great.the air conditioner wokred very well.

Review 78:Hotel did not close until after 2AM which is not good when you are staying in the accommodation very close by.. At around 2.15AM an argument broke out on the balcony of the hotel which is right in front of the accommodation which brought people out of there rooms to investigate. Not a good nights sleep

Review 79:Breakfast was plentiful, staff were friendly and polite and helpful.

Review 80:A room with no Shampoo, no Face Cloths irregular flow of hot / cold shower. Slow warming of room airconditioning. No courtesy note to say Bistro closed for a private function.....we did eat in the bar in the end

Review 81:The bed was very comfortable. The hotel food was enjoyable

Review 82:they are still re modelling and the new carpets have that smell,

Review 83:stay here every 2 months, it is a value for money hotel, even thou its on the Highway rooms are very quiet and the view over the lake is fab

Review 84:We had a downstairs room at the end of the block that was very cold on entering. Slowly thawed with reverse cycle heater but had to be left on all night to maintain adequate warmth (we don't generally like overheated rooms). Stayed in early April (hardly midwinter).

Review 85:Great location overlooking the lake in centre of Jyndabyne. Short walk to shops and restaurants.

Review 86:Great views and close to everything in town. Excellent breakfast and lovely staff in bistro and bar. Room very comfortable and hotel facilities close.

Review 87:Hotel separate & under Renovation had No Dinner Bistro & a Noisy Beer Garden Clientele.

Review 88:Loved the Town of Jindabyne & great Views. Great accommodation & Breakfast.

Review 89:This hotel is good value for budget minded travellers and great for families. There is access to Lake Jindabyne from all the ground level rooms via beautiful rolling lawns, the views are beautiful and instantly relaxing.

Review 90:The poached eggs swimming in water were pretty awful. They should just stick with simple scrabbled eggs.

Review 91:The location of this hotel is great - right on the lake and close to lots of great walking locations including the mountains.

Review 92:Breakfast chef needed help, how can you expect her to cook and clear tables for 100 people by herself!!

Review 93:The room's with the best view of the lake. Very beautiful area.

Review 94:No one at reception before 8 am!

Review 95:Convenient location - easy to spot from the road - great off street parking! Across the street from a number of cafe's and restaurants!

Review 96:Put a towel on the floor over the lip from the carpet to tiled floor after stubbing a toe going to the bathroom during the night.

Review 97:Despite the age of the property it was clean and cared for - and the view out the back door was simply stunning! Would certainly stay again if passing through. Great value for the price.

Review 98:Most rooms had outdoor furniture our place lacked a small outdoor table to put the glasses on but had chairs. Other than that the area was well mowed and clean.

Review 99:The hotel was well located on Lake Jindabyne the rooms were waterfront. A bistro was onsite which was convienent. The room tariff included a help yourself hot/cold breakfast. The place was quiet and you could sit outside your room and enjoy the lakeview or go for walk along lake esplanade.

Review 100:None

Review 101:Lake on one side and town on the other side. It is a great location. Was travelling solo so the pub next door was good too! Staff were great even when they were busy handling large groups. Facilities are what you get in a typical motel.

Review 102:I did'nt like the terrible smell in the room, and also the noise of the other guest that went on til all hours of the night

Review 103:the bed was very comfortable, and the shower was excellent

Review 104:The only negatives I have are that I would have preferred the hand basin and mirror to have been in the bathroom rather than next to the front door. Also several of the light bulbs in the room did not work which was a bit unusual as they were LED which are supposed to last for 10 to 15 years.

Review 105:The rooms are fairly basic but comfortable. The motel is located right next to the lake so it had excellent views. The motel provides a very good gym for guests, one of the best I have seen in a motel, with all the modern weight lifting machines. The room rate includes a full buffet hot breakfast which was very tasty. Located across the road from shops which is convenient. Over all a pleasant stay.

Review 106:The staff wasn't very welcoming but maybe it was just a first impression because they were helpful.

Review 107:We arrived very late at night and they made sure there was someone there to give us the keys. The rooms were extremely clean and tidy, great shower, lovely view to the lake and near a Saturday market we could enjoy. Breakfast was generous and included.

Review 108:Bathroom a little tight but shower good. Internet reasonable not really fast but occasionally dropped out for very short periods, overall not bad.

Review 109:Excellent location, good room, will come back again for sure.

Review 110:Not sure sheets had been changed so would have to think carefully about returning, which is a shame.

Review 111:Location was terrific. Buffet breaky great. Easy stroll to shops. Comfy room despite tight bathroom.

Review 112:Smoke alarm went off twice. No one in reception on arrival but clearly not peak time in Jan so not overly surprised or put out

Review 113:Lovely view of the lake. Newly renovated bathroom . Liked the sinks and mirror in the room. The hotel restaurant was really good. Really enjoyed the salmon.

Review 114:No issues, good communication regarding check-in.

Review 115:This motel is part of the hotel/motel complex. Handy for a nice evening meal and breakfast was good value. Room was large enough and comfortable.

Review 116:Absolutely nothing to dislike.

Review 117:Fabulous location, exceptional value with wifi & cooked breakfast included. Dinner at the hotel was great value, and was taken on the balcony overlooking the lake. All complimented by friendly & obliging staff.

Review 118:The noise of the speed boats and their owners lack of thought when parking them. It was generally impossible to park anywhere outside of your room.

Review 119:Situation and quality of food

Review 120:very tiny room and the 3rd person was very cramped. sink and bathroom cabinet just inside the front door - very open to the room. No shampoo/shower gel. breakfast included great idea - however cooked element of breakfast was the worst we have had in a long time (sorry)

Review 121:location right on the lake was fabulous with beautiful views, good value meals in the pub. cleanliness was good with pleasant smelling room staff nice, parking great

Review 122:Would loved to have had a microwave and toaster but other than that everything was great

Review 123:Loved the location great room easy access nice hot shower friendly staff walk to shops and eating venues have booked again

Review 124:May pose a problem for those on weekends with bands performing either at this hotel or elsewhere. A rehearsal from across the road was quite loud and fortunately very short. The remote on the TV was without battery but this is nit picking

Review 125:Cleanliness Good views of the lake outside your window Staff not in your face but there at call Meals were reasonably good too

Review 126:No contact - had to find my way to the bar for help because Reception was closed when I arrived at 3pm. There was personal contact made with me during the two days and nights that I stayed.

Review 127:Breakfast was OK

Review 128:Could use some hooks behind the bathroom door.

Review 129:Stayed here 12 months earlier, this time in a family room (last one available). Very comfortible and quiet, room and bathroom recently refurbished. Excellent hot buffet breakfast. We will come again.

Review 130:Bathroom sink etc in main area. No where for hand towel. Toilet way toclose to door and shower. No room to move. No privacy on frontbalcony??? Shame as looks on Lake but everyone walking past see all.

Review 131:Location right on lake and close to all shops. Nice breakfast included.Bed comfortable. Clean

Review 132:limited menu options, erratic shower, some noisy neighbours

Review 133:fantastic location looking out onto lake, good size, clean and comfortable room. Good value food, friendly and efficient staff. Will definitely book here again.

Review 134:Food quality for breakfast is adequate at best, but lots of nearby restaurants.

Review 135:Lake view rooms are clean, functional, and a great view of the lake and access to the walking path.

Review 136:Having a bar/bottle shop on site, it was quite noisy (even off-peak). You could also hear through the walls.

Review 137:Great breakfast, great lake view, hotel old but recently refurbished. Very good value for money.

Review 138:Going home at the end.

Review 139:The room was immaculate with a view of the lake. We are a family of 4 and paid only $100 per day including an excellent hot buffet breakfast. The staff were relaxed and helpful. We will be back!

Review 140:the bistro food wasnt to a high standard and the entree came out with the main meal. price was rather high as well for the meal.

Review 141:great location and great room

Review 142:Turned up at 6pm & checked out at 730am - both times no reception was closed. Room was also missing a hair dryer & tv remote, try to call as reception closed, no one answered the phone during my stay.
