Review 1：When booking we were given the impression that the only option was half-board. However after some protracted e-mail we managed to change to B & B because some of the recent comments on the restaurant had been not very good. We were staying for 11 nights so wanted the option of eating out. Obviously this was not liked by the staff as the reception was cool on arrival as were some of the breakfast staff and the bar manager - it seems we were the only guests on a B & B basis. We noted that the guests had to choose their menu for the evening at breakfast so were pleased we had changed. It was not until the day before our departure that the iciness started to melt. Whilst a shuttle is provided, it is, understandably, only available at certain times and outside these times, the walk to/from the beach or town involved around 150 steep steps (up on the way back which is not ideal after a good meal).

Review 2：Facilities at the hotel are good especially the shuttle service to/from the beach/town. Comfortable room with a good balcony with great views overlooking Diano Marina. Very good breakfast.

Review 4：The staff were friendly, particularly Mario, who drove us to beach daily. Rooms are clean, beds comfortable and the dinners were really fabulous.

Review 7：A hotel set menu diner = 25 euro - was a disappointment and sort of rip off. So better make a nice 15-20 mins walk to the town centre along Promenade and have a tasty Italian diner in one of the local restaurant: much greater value for the same or even less money + undoubtedly more delicious + genuine Italian ambience and evening to remember.

Review 8：Check-in / check -out were easy and prompt. Free parking. Very clean, nice, spacious and comfortable room with a sea view, nice bathroom though a bit tide. Fast Wi-Fi. Heated well sized pool (good for laps) and comfy deck chairs set in a pretty gardens. Breakfast was good to have, though coffee was a disappointment. 10 -15 mins walk to the town centre. We stayed 1 night and enjoyed it.

Review 9：It would have been nice if a waiter was around during the day to serve coffees beers etc during the afternoom..... We could still buy them during the afternoon but had to ask reception rather than at the bar. However, not a massive problem just a comment for improvememt. Only real negative comment concerns the allocated beach sun beds. The beach section allocated to the hotel was probably the worst location in the whole bay. The sun beds are crammed in like sardines compared to all the other beach sections. Totally claustrophobic and unpleasant. it was a shame as it spoilt the overall experience of the hotel...... We stayed away fr the beach.

Review 16：The views from Hotel were stunning, The staff throughout the hotel were polite and helpful.The room was always clean. But above all the restaurant was superb,stayed 10 days and the food / wine was allways of the highest standard..We could not fault the staff friendly / knowledgable under the quidance of a very competant manager. Facilities at the hotel and beach excellant. Easy routes to local attractions by train and bus. Steep walk to beach but can use hotel transport or even a bike. . We found the cost very reasonable as a half board guest plus wine and drinks Holiday to remember hopefully will return hotel a must for all the family.

Review 17：Everything was fantastic. This hotel gives opportunity to taste the spirit ot Italy. The cuisine in the restaurant is *fabulous*. The sea view, the food, the waitor - all were perfect. There's a man who drove us to the beach and back two times a day and always was smiled and kind. He opened a car door each time and you feel like in 6 star hotel. We had a problem with booked room, but this problem was resolved the second day. It's 1 hour driving to Côte d'Azur - Nice, Cannes, Saint-Tropez, Monaco is a perfect one day trip. We had amazing vacation and highly recommend Hotel Metropol.

Review 18：Free sun loungers at the beach are right at the back. Felt like sardines on the beach. Might be worth paying extra to get a lounger at the front.

Review 19：Food, staff are very friendly and helpful. Superior rooms are great with an amazing view, all the amenities are top notch. In some respects could be a 5 star however the layout of hotel is a bit odd. 2 lifts to get to our room.

Review 24：Good food with a great choice. On the whole quiet and peaceful except when football world cup matches were shown on television in the lounge !! Great swimming pool which was very clean. Did not use the beach so cannot comment. Will def. stay again even though the steps down to the town are a bit steep. There is free mini bus provided by the hotel but again we did not use it.

Review 51：A perfect hotel with fantastic atmosphere. Very good room with a splendid view to the sea. We had to leave one day earlier than we have booked and this was no problem, the manager was extremely kind. We should not pay for the day we had booked, but did not use. The food is real italian - very very good. The waiters were the same as 2 years ago, where we stayed at this hotel, it must be a good place to work.

Review 52：1) Hotel beach "rules" - you cannot use place nearer than 10m to the sea - by their rules. Even if all places on the first 2 raws are empty (we were there in June - almost all the beach was empty this time) - they did not allow you to use them and insist you to use place on the 3rd raw. Why? (Btw we had quite expensive room in their hotel - question: who uses first 2 raws then???) =&Gt; Stupid rule which breaks all the comfort on the beach.2) staff on the beach is not friendly and do not speak english enough 3) breakfast is ok / well but every day is the same (no any changes during more than 1 week) + no olive oil or any other sauce. All other is good with this hotel - they must change this stupid rule and give their clients comfort to choose any empty place on the beach! In this case they will be the best. But current rule breaks all impression and make the rest uncomfortable.

The Fine Print

Some rooms, bathrooms and lifts are suitable for disabled guests, while the swimming pool is not wheelchair accessible.The private beach is suitable for disabled guests but it is located at the end of a steep street. It is also accessible via a staircase or a free shuttle service, at scheduled times.Parasols and sun loungers in the rows closer to the water come at extra charge and upon availability.The swimming pools, beach shuttle and beach service are only available from 1 May until 30 September. The beach is available from check-in day to the day before check-out.
