Reviews for Hotel Cala Lunga
Review 1:Hotel does not deserve 4 stars I believe. Two issues to be addressed by hotel management asap: 1) Quality of food - Breakfast is not up to 4 star hotel standards - choice is poor and quality is very poor. 2) Bathrooms needs immediate renovation - breaking up shower is not appropriate for 4 star hotel.
Review 2:Location has a perfect location to relax, private beach.
Review 3:Resort caters to private yachts. No water sports or boat rental facilities on site. Car rental recommended. Dining choices are on-site but limited.
Review 4:It is a beautiful, quiet and secluded waterfront location. Beaches and pool are excellent.
Review 5:There were no places to go for dinner other than paying for a full course dinner in the hotel restaurant. One would have hoped for a little pizza place or at least have the chance to order just one course in the restaurant. If not, the hotel should provide little kitchens in each room so that you could self cater as well as use the hotel.
Review 6:The hotel is in a quiet and very attractive marina with a private beach
Review 7:Our flight left at 7am and the hotel had confirmed a taxi for us. The taxi was over 40 minutes late, which made us miss our flight and we had to spend an extra €500 for new a flight. Do not rely on taxi drivers for an early flight. Rent a car.
Review 8:The location is excellent!
Review 9:The awful Restarant around the corner which I found out isn't part of our hotel. Bad food - extremely expensive and husband got ill-don't eat there - raw veg platter was 2 lettuce leaves 2 sticks of cucumber 2 radishes 2sticks of green pepper with like a salad dressing 30euro :0( eat at hotel far better
Review 10:Lovely kind staff - location location location beaches pool beautiful wished I was there 3 nights lovely
Review 11:The hotel itself is slightly strange. It's a four star so you do expect a certain standard, and the location and exterior of the building suggest a little more than what is delivered. It's a little shabby in places and could probably do with some renovation. Not without it's charm but our room was very small an the bed was hard as nails. I've very glad we got a deal on the nights we stayed because I would have been put out to pay full whack for it. The staff are accommodating, but, dare a say slightly snooty. It's a posh place and we felt like we were in the cheap seats. An interesting experience all the same.
Review 12:Cala Lunga has a breathtaking location. The staff of the hotel are pleasant, but the guy running the bar 'il Mirto' is a legend. He really made us feel welcome, and all the other customers, in their native language too! The pool is lovely and the 'beaches' are great for snorkeling. Food wise, we had some lovely bites in the bar from the hotel menu, and ventured out one night to a nearby campsite with an surprisingly excellent restaurant on the grounds. Porto Massimo is quite an interesting place for people watching and yacht spotting!
Review 13:You have to pay for using the beach towels and dinner is quite pricey.
Review 14:The location is superb for those who would like to spend some time in the Mediterranean paradise: the water is of the most unforgettable color, beautiful and picturesque landscapes. This hotel is quite isolated and I would strongly recommend to hire a car as it is quite difficult to get anywhere without it. The hotel is very good, the rooms are spacious and comfortable. We had two balconies. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Donato from bar Il Mirto is a great person!!!! So nice, sympathetic and hospitable!
Review 15:It's pretty isolated if you don't have your own transport. You are therefore rathe forced to eat at the hotel or at the expensive restaurant next door. There is a cafe too but they serve meals with plastic knives and forks and bowls. Not great. I didn't think the place had much atmosphere. It had a bit of a deserted village feel to it.
Review 16:The setting is lovely. The water is beautiful. The little beach is fine.
Review 17:Our rooms was simple but clean and the free WIFI connection was poor to non existing.
Review 18:Lovely staff and surroundings. We did not have to pay our 5 year old boy's meal, which was very kind as he had 3 out of the 5 course diner.
Review 19:The hotel was isolated with its own restaurant but otherwise within reasonable walking distance of just one bar which meant dining options were very limited. There is a small supermarket on the site but no cooking facilities. There is a clear expectation that you arrive by car. We did not and therefore found ourselves a bit stuck in the evenings as the bus only runs during the day. Reception staff not very forthcoming with helpful suggestions.
Review 20:Beautiful location right on the coast with sea views from rooms. Nice pool and private beaches (although if your mobility is restricted they would be difficult to access due to hilly paths). Very friendly waiter in the hotel's bar.
Review 21:angolo paradisiaco. ci siamo trovati benissimo. tutti gentilissimi, dal primo al ultimo dipendente. un caro saluto al grande Donato e alla Sig. Emma come anche al Sig. Massimo, titolari molto attenti. Luogo e posto meravigloso. Ci siamo trovati coccolati come a casa. tanti saluti dalla svizzera, Franco e Maria.
Review 22:40 euro daily charge for using the sun tan beds and umbrella + 3 euro for each beach towel change - this is outrage for a hotel that chages for an overnight 260 euro for their cheapest room!!!
Review 23:Location lode to the beach
Review 24:Breakfast was just bad in all meaning - bad/poor selection of food and what is available was not tast and bad/poor quality (like just one type of cheese looks like overdue and having no taste). Overall breakfast is not appropriate for 4 stars hotel. Starting from second day we simply went to the supermarket to purchase fruits, jogurt and cheese to bring it with us for breakfast
Review 25:Hotel location is "outside busy world", which is nice for relax. We went low season so it was very quiet
Review 26:Wi-fi only in certain areas. There is a restaurant close by the Hotel but is not part of hotel. It is way over priced. Best to go into town to eat dinner.
Review 27:First, the staff was amazing. Siliva and the other ladies there at the front desk went out of their way to help and be accommodating with any request (including to help get a dental app. when a crown came off one of my teeth.) Dounoto, the bartender at Bar Mirto, was exceptional. They made our 10 day stay an unforgettable experience. We found breakfast to be delicious. They offered a nice variety including fruit, eggs, and much more. The facility is gorgeous. We had an amazing time much do to the staff and location. It was very private and not a lot of noise. One evening we choose to stay at hotel and the bartender, Dounoto, prepare for us an amazing appetizer with a lovely variety to munch on. Thanks to all for a wonderful vacation.
Review 28:Reception staff ignorant could hardly speak english, actual receptionist very bad at explaining what the hotel facilities are and where , gave us a photo copy map that was just black and you could not read.Rooms air conditioning broken ,repair man sent out and repaired after one hour but no offer of another room or alternative while he repaired the air conditioning and when it was fixed did not function correctly .No apologies a disgrace. The hotel is not a 4 star standard.
Review 29:Location very good ,
Review 30:Breakfast was low quality and very sparse. Could easily be improved with at least baking better bread. Still - a great hotel to stay in.
Review 31:The view from the room was fabulous. And more picturesque place for a hotel is rarely seen. Nice staff.
Review 32:No wi-fi in the hotel room. But we could reach wi-fi in the beautiful reception desk with very comfortable sofas.
Review 33:Perfect location, beautiful seaside around hotel, extremely friendly, professional and helpful hotel staff, great breakfast with fresh food and very good coffee. Rooms were clean and spacious and also bathroom was very spacious. Beautiful private hotel beach is 2 minutes walk away from the hotel reception including nice swimming pool with sweat water and with great sea view. The hotel interier is really nice and matches perfectly with sardinian seaside. I would honestly recommend hotel Cala Lunga to anyone traveling to island la Maddalena.
Review 34:Nothing
Review 35:Staff was very friendly and helpfull. Room itself was very basic but clean. Location-far from the main town but surroundings near hotel -just charming.
Review 36:-internet only in the reception and bar (not in the room)
Review 37:-the location is very good (sea direct to the hotel) -staff very nice -good breakfast -nice room (sea view, clean)
Review 38:- Very poor breakfast with very limited options – consists of a few pastries covered in sugar, just some plain omlette every now and then, one or 2 fruit avaiable and some sugar full cereals - The room is much smaller than advertised: about 14 m2, plus 3 m2 balcony, plus 4 m2 bathroom. = 21 m2 - No internet connection in the rooms and working rarely also in the lobby (about 50% during the 8 days stay here) - No telephone connection!- very poor signal, just in some places around the hotel – not good if you need to get or make calls. - No decent food venues around (in fact lacking in the full island) except a terrible ripp-off restaurant La Scogliera offering average food at exorbitant prices – check the internet.
Review 39:- nice location in a small marina, but a few km away from anything – avoid coming here if you don’t have a car - Very clean - small beaches and swimmingpool available to the hotel guests, away from crowds
Review 40:No Internet at the time, La scogliera restaurant very much overpriced
Review 41:Beautiful setting, nice rooms, lovely beaches, friendly staff, good in hotel restaurant
Review 42:Overall it was a very good stay - but the breakfast could been better with some fresh fruits and better bread. But nothing really to complain about.
Review 43:The restaurant staff was very nice and helpful. Really liked the environment in Porto Massimo, nice quite beaches and surroundings. (we were here in low/mid-season). The room were clean and fresh.
Review 44:Very Good location with friendly staff. Perfect breakfast.
Review 45:The private restaurant near the pool was rubbish and nothing to do with this hotel.

Review 50:Everything was perfect! The beach was excellent! So quiet and peaceful....
Review 51:List of drinks could be longer. Beach could be more sandy.
Review 52:Everything :)
Review 53:It is part of a condiminium so there is not much going on apart from the hotel.
Review 54:Nice hotel on a beautiful beach.
Review 55:Location, pool

Review 57:The bed was a little too hard for me.
