Reviews for Acacia Snowy Motel

Review 1:Shared balcony with people talking loudly and smoking directly outside my room. Entry of cigarette smoke into room from shared balcony even though it was a non smoking room. Room had no air con and only ventilation option was to leave door to shared balcony open. Shared balcony removes room privacy. No internet - supposed to be wifi in common area but it didn't work. Room contained used soap and shampoo presumably from last guest.

Review 2:Location, price, comfortable bed

Review 3:The common areas such as the dining room and rec room were in desperate need of a clean and vacuum. In the 4 days we were there this wasn't done once. The bathroom off the rec room was in a very poor state, littered with paper towel and a dirty toilet.

Review 4:The in room facilities were good and clean

Review 5:Linen was not very clean. TV set was extremely small. No extra bed lights for each bed apart from the 2 dim ceiling lights for the whole room & potential 6 guests.

Review 6:Location & value for money.

Review 7:No real bad experience but an exhaust fan would make a lovely bathroom even more enjoyable We found the beds quite hard

Review 8:Convenient location; good sized room; good parking; friendly staff; generally good

Review 9:Great games room, rooms have a 'cool' retro Alpine feel to them. Bathrooms have been recently renovated to a modern and high standard. Conveniently located 30min from Perisher or Thredbo. Great value.

Review 10:Bed could have been more comfortable. Early breakfast is not available (before 7am).

Review 11:Location is close to Perisher and Jindabyne town centre. Price is pretty cheap for a group of friends.

Review 12:Nothing.

Review 13:Ran by a lovely, friendly couple. They make a mean cooked breakfast too! Also, I booked with booking. Com and there were heavy penalties for moving my booking dates. I contacted the hotel directly and they were more than happy for me to change the dates at no cost. I did give plenty of notice though. The accommodation is budget but clean and tidy. It's a 10 min walk to the main shopping area and the footpath is VERY dark. Very enjoyable stay and highly recommended.

Review 14:It's more like a Hostel than a Hotel. Cafeteria eating, bunked rooms, lots of young groups. You can hear the groups belting music and talking and having little room parties through the walls. Great for some, not for us as a couple. It's not really walking distance from the main part of town.

Review 15:It was what it was; a low cost motel/hostel used for a ski weekend. The room was comfortable and quite large. The showers were excellent. The cook-up breakfast was excellent, nothing fancy but very filling.

Review 16:Owner kept turning off WiFi. Claims that the WiFi stops working by itself. Then changes the story and says that it's because the "daily quota" has been used. Reception left unattended for most of the day. Have to constantly call the owners on the mobile to get some service. Disgusting and stained bed sheets. Did they even wash them? See attached photo.

Review 17:None to mention.

Review 18:The bunk beds in the room are not particularly comfortable, but ok for a short weekend get away.

Review 19:Breakfast is superb. Rooms have bunk beds so it is not difficult to add an additional traveler on your trip at late notice. Bathrooms were modern and clean. All facilities were very clean. The two single beds in the room were very comfortable.

Review 20:The breakfast tasted stale and old

Review 21:Grumpy man at breakfast and saw him recycle leftovers for next day's use. We were the last people at breakfast and he would limit out bacon to three slices each despite there being full tray left. Makes you wonder why he is being tight with the bacon because he's saving it to use tomorrow. Also saw him save the cooked baked beans for another day.

Review 22:Beds were uncomfortable, breakfast was really bad, wi-fi did not work, facilities need to be renovated for the price you pay.

Review 23:Female staff were really friendly.

Review 24:Staff are temperamental. I put a towel on the bathroom floor to be changed, and it was hung back up on the towel rail over a heater that only turns on between 4pm - 9am. Not ideal when you get back to your room after snowboarding at 3pm and your towel isn't changed nor is there is a replacement one. There was also a a few strands of hair laying on towel before I used it. When I complained about the wet towel, the sincerity on an apology was minimal. Won't be staying here again.

Review 25:Location was good. Lots of parking.

Review 26:There are a lot of stairs which may cause issues for some people, butr there are rooms that can be accessed requiring no stairs. Just something to keep in mind when booking.

Review 27:Pretty much everything was as expeceted. Simple room with good beds and a good bathroom, very spacious.

Review 28:Friendly owner and staff, clean neat and functional room with a bath and shower!! Great breakfast - hot and cold options. Accommodates up to six in the room with a mix of bunks and beds. Parking out the front

Review 29:Large room had plenty of hanging space and a big bathroom. Breakfast was served quickly with plenty of cereals, yoghurt and peaches and a good selection of hot items. Overall quite comfortable and good value.

Review 30:everything, big car park ,room size and nice bathroom with hot & cold shower, soap in the bath also good quality. Good and warm serviced from owner. Breakfast also good.Home away from home.

Review 31:Straightforward good accommodation in town at a fair price. Friendly staff, and has the basic requirements for a stopover, without the expensive and unnecessary frills.

Review 32:Large room, clean. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom as new. The shower was hot and strong. Breakfast was included and had a variety of foods that catered for all needs. The owner was friendly and helpful.

Review 33:When I booked room it was advertised with a king bed when I arrived my room was 2 singles & 3 bunks. I bought this up with the owner Alan who said I will have room fixed only to see his staff putting the 2 single beds together :(

Review 34:It's location to town is just around the corner. Alan & his staff made great big breakfast for guests. Large room with renovated bathroom.

Review 35:Apart from a newly renovated bathroom which was great the place is a little tired and is utilised by school groups. Not a problem as such for us, just means not a quiet, relaxing atmosphere at the end of a day skiing.

Review 36:Available for 3 nights that suited us without lockout dates and minimums that can apply in winter in Jindabyne

Review 37:the way the booking was handled. Booked a family room for $600, then got told it was $180 extra for a 3 and a 1 yr old. Family room is not for 2 people in the common world.

Review 38:The location which was close to everything

Review 39:We didn't like the fact breakfast was doled out. The wifi did not seem very good and it seemed to be turned off several times we tried it. The room was not properly cleaned during our four night stay.

Review 40:The owners are very knowledgable of the area and were more than happy to offer advise, the room had a brand new bathroom and no expense was spared. We all had such a good time and not one of us had anything negative to say about the motel.

Review 41:It would be nice if there is micro-wave oven in the room.. otherwise it is tough to stay when you have young children. Specially it is not suitable in the winter without microwave oven. I saw few bugs in the toilet and in the room.

Review 42:a. The toilet is pretty clean. b. The Motel location is good. c. The staff is good.

Review 43:noisy upstairs guests- poor noise insulation id upatairs have heavy footed guests or young children running around at 3am in the morning.

Review 44:brand new bathroom

Review 45:The staff were friendly, helpful and informative .The room was a great size for a family and the facilities were very clean. The location is very close to town a short drive or possible walk

Review 46:Uncomfortable bunk beds

Review 47:Large room, freindly staff, new clean bathroom, plenty of off street parking. Bunk beds a little uncomfortable for anyone other than young children.

Review 48:The wifi was only in the lobby and often was difficult to connect to...

Review 49:The owners are so friendly and incredibly hospitable! So accommodating. It was delightful to stay there and you could not beat the value. Plus it was walking distance to town.

Review 50:Comfortable bed and warm room at a very reasonable price. The Bathroom was renovated and clean, the tea bags fresh and the biscuits with them delicious.

Review 51:Got attacked by bed bugs.alerted the owner and he denied they came from the hotel and refused to compensate me in any way. Haven't stayed anywhere else for a while and they're definitely not from home although they ended up in my luggage and clothes. Disgraceful service and hygiene. Don't stay here.

Review 52:Attitude from the owner on the phone was like it was an inconvenience that I was staying. i have a 5 year old and he wanted me to pay full price for breakfast for what was likely not going to be more than a bowl of cereal or a piece of toast... He said it was too hard to have different prices for different people. Ridiculous. Basically in a our conversation when we were excited about coming to the snow he made us feel like we were an inconvenience and if we didn't like it we could lump it. Once we got there it was pretty good but we just slept and left. I'll be looking for other options first.

Review 53:Clean, New Bathroom

Review 54:Thin walls ... Overly surly manager but I never let that worry me, his problem not mine. :)

Review 55:Recently updated bathroom. Big hot and powerful shower, great after a day on the snow. Very comfortable king bed and toasty heater. Plenty of room for storage of gear. Would stay again.

Review 56:Beds not so comfortable, postage stamp sized television

Review 57:Needed a place to stay a night in Jindabyne on the way to Thredbo & it provided that. Staff friendly, nice bathroom

Review 58:Common areas closed in the evening & barricaded off. Uncomfortable bed. Flat rate for breakfast even if you just had cereal/continental.

Review 59:Warm welcome Comfortable room & big bathroom Quiet despite being fairly busy.

Review 60:the bus that ran its motor for some time early in the morning in the car park. This could have been done in the street!

Review 61:warm room spacious room with big bed new and spacious bathroom

Review 62:One of the bunk beds had a extremely poor mattress. my friend had much difficulty sleeping

Review 63:Staff were so friendly and welcoming throughout booking and stay and very helpful

Review 64:1) No microwave in room or common area. So, there is no way of hitting food. If you are with kids, would be difficult to manage. 2) Very strict in their Check in and Check out time.

Review 65:1) Location was good 2) Value for money 3) Clean and good parking facility

Review 66:The room was comfortable however there was a street light immediately outside the room and light coming into the room was not well blocked. The mattresses on the bunk beds were a little tired.

Review 67:Allan was an extremely amenable host. We changed arrangements a number of times and he was very accommodating.

Review 68:Booked this accommodation because it had a restaurant and bar but neither was open during our stay which meant that we had to travel to Jindabyne shopping area for meals.

Review 69:Location was good to the ski fields.

Review 70:Paying August ski season prices!!!

Review 71:Was offered the last room, with six single bunks for my daughter and I. She thought this was amazing. Exactly what the owners described and as the pictures show. Great bathroom with a decent shower.

Review 72:Loo door didn't really close properly, so not that great for a group of unrelated friends bunking in together. Pinball machine right outside room was a bit loud, although people didn't stay in central games area too late. Very plain, simple accommodation. Expensive for what it is.

Review 73:Cheapest sleep we could find in Jindabyne.

Review 74:The room was a good size and comfortable. The bathroom was recently renovated and very nice. The owners put the heater on for us, so the room was warm for our late arrival!

Review 75:You can hear through the walls. Bathroom, not totally clean. No remote for tv Arcade games take money and you can't get it back. You can't serve yourself breaky, a grumpy man does it slowly for you.

Review 76:It was fine for sleeping. And close to shops Has arcade games room

Review 77:At room some cockroaches I seen. Few times power missing, pillows were so old. Everywhere dust. No hangers.not enough towel. I have been mentioned we have children still he charged me extra $30 besides he said he can't make the bed for children. We had to make the bed for my children.when I asked him to make the bed. He we are owner we can't make the bed. Cleaners gone home.

Review 78:Actually there is nothing I really liked. They are totally commercial. Just I paid full amount that's why I had to sleep there.otherwise I wouldn't sleep there.

Review 79:That its a 5 hour drive from our house.

Review 80:We liked everything about our stay the rooms were very clean the bathroom new and big very friendly staff. The lounge/games room was very comfortable. Will definitely go back.

Review 81:Power cut out & had to get manager No remote for TV in room, had to ask for it in reception. Long walk to room at far end of building. Light was out in front of door so couldn't see the keyhole. A connecting door to our room was locked & the light on the other side was on constantly which came into our room at night.(not sure what was on the other side).

Review 82:Beds were comfy Large bathroom, separate toilet. Easy parking & close to shops & access to Bullocks Flat for train.

Review 83:It was sometimes a little noisy but I managed by sleeping with earplugs in.

Review 84:The hotel was in a good location. It took us about 15 minutes to walk into Jindy but the location was perfect to miss the morning traffic up the mountain. The owners were lovely and you could get a full hot breakfast for $15. The room were comfortable and enough for us for a long weekend. I've booked again for 3 weeks time as it is great value for money.

Review 85:Games room promised had limited offering and had to be paid for each time. Wifi intermittent and only in common areas. Budget room VERY basic. Mattresses and towels had seen better days and pillows smelled, although bed linen was clean. Drying room not very efficient and not very secure.

Review 86:Owners were friendly and helpful. Room was warm. Shower was hot and bathroom clean. Lots of easy parking.

Review 87:The Acacia was a comfortable, clean place to stay. Its close enough to everything and staff were helpful and always pleasant. The curfew (when schools were there) was a reasonable time and was enforced so it meant my young kids slept. All round very satisfied

Review 88:The bed linen. The pillowcases were stained and three of them had hairs on them. The heater had a faulty switch. No milk in the fridge our first night, we had to ask for it in the morning. No remote for the tv again had to ask for one in the morning

Review 89:The staff were approachable and listened to our complaint and rectified it.

Review 90:Room very dirty , smely , dirty linen, seems like you are in pig house. Dont go there if u work hard for money.no wifi if u staying in corner room.

Review 91:Nothing just location and bathroom are good but dont expect bathtub.

Review 92:heater did not turn on automatically resulting in the room being cold. Would have been nice to see the fire lit at least once during the week.

Review 93:good value, clean, friendly staff, free parking, heated ski room

Review 94:Breakfast should be included given the tariff per night. Nice fire place in the communal lounge but the owners don't seem to light it. Parking is a problem.

Review 95:Quiet, comfortable and spacious. Bathrooms renovated and good size.

Review 96:Beds were extremely hard - sleeping on a wooden board. No microwave in the room. Expensive for what was on offer for a family!

Review 97:Bathroom was new & clean & definitely roomy.

Review 98:Manager was not helpful and rude in my queries; He directed me to the maps and find the answer to my questions...literally. Chef didn't know tonite's menu; Beddings were old, floor carpet is filthy; tv is too small for the size of the room; no microwave; kettle doesn't turn off automatically...facilities are just old model...WHOLE HOTEL REQUIRES UPGRADING!!! The price a night is too pricey!!! Never again!!!

Review 99:I liked the renovated bathroom!!! Location is close to snow field.

Review 100:Male Owner was very unfriendly. Towels have marks, mattresses need replacement. Read the Booking condition when making online booking, the owner might send you confirmation with incorrect info, so please avoid misdirection.

Review 101:Good location, new bathroom

Review 102:Tv to Small Noise from families with young children running past our room all night. No Hairdryer To far to walk from centre of town Wi Fi signal very weak and can not use. Very outdated motel needs refurbishment only bathroom was renovated. Bar not open.

Review 103:Bathroom

Review 104:The recently renovated bathroom had the toilet placed smack bang in front of the vanity so you couldnt open vanity doors or stand at basin head on. Rediculous

Review 105:The bunk bed mattresses were a bit hard. There was no blankets provided. When I booked, my reservation email never told me that I needed to bring my own blankets. It would be helpful to add that to the confirmation booking. It was lucky that I had spared blankets in the car.

Review 106:The room was not clean.

Review 107:Bed linen and pillow cases were not washed. It smelled.

Review 108:Friendly staff

Review 109:The mattress was bad.
