Reviews for Affittacamere La Lanterna

Review 1:Very nice and clean apartment with a beautiful view in a great location. Owners were very friendly and supplied a little breakfast each day that was not included in the deal.

Review 2:A little difficult to find, and parking isn't convenient, but nothing that should deter you from staying here.

Review 3:Wonderful room! Spacious, comfortable, beautiful view! Short walk to shops, restaurants, and tour boats. Breakfast is delivered to your door if you want it. The owner is a delight (but it will help if you speak a little Italian). It was raining the day we left, and the Internet was down throughout town, so we couldn't use our credit card to pay for our stay. Cash machines were out as well. She took us to her bank where we were able to change dollars for Euros, she borrowed an umbrella from one of the locals for our walk back, and even offered to buy us a coffee! We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend!

Review 4:No bad experience

Review 5:Perfect location looking out over the harbour from our little balcony. Spotlessly clean. Had extra sitting/dining area with sofa bed, fridge, kettle and coffee maker and plentiful free supplies of tea, coffee and packs of biscuits for snacks. Breakfast delivered to our door every morning by the pleasant owner- fresh rolls, cakes, sliced ham and cheese, juice and coffee.

Review 6:No parking after we specifically booked this, as advertised it has parking. Owner not very helpful in finding parking so we had to arrange ourselves. Owners English limited so phone communication difficult. Quite a few steps down to apartment so not elderly friendly or luggage burdened.

Review 7:Right in the heart of Portavenere. Lovely position and view amazing.

Review 8:Leaving!

Review 9:Owners Anna & Umberto were very friendly and helpful. Separate bathroom, bedroom &.meals area were great. Views from small balcony fantastic. If you don't mind some steep steps to enter/exit then this place offers a truly authentic Italian holiday located in the middle of the historic part of town.

Review 10:Nothing to complain about.

Review 11:Location was great and the breakfast was very good. We loved the atmosphere, we felt part of a friendly Italian community. The ferry to other towns was very close by.

Review 12:Wifi was spotty.

Review 13:Location was convenient to shops and restaurants. A wonderful view from the balcony. Very clean comfortable and spacious. Would go back.

Review 14:Affiticamere La Lanterna was one of the cleanest B&B’s I have ever been too. The room was clean and cozy, with a beautiful view from the balcony. The owner is a lovely Italian woman. She is extremely nice and helpful. Breakfast was laid out every morning on the table. The location was also great and you were able to walk out onto the cobblestone streets of Portovenere. I would recommend this place to whoever stays in Portovenere. I will definitely return to Affiticamere La Lanterna on my return to Portovenere.

Review 15:Prices in this area are quite steep. Was charged €20 for mohito, coffee and spritzer. This was common charge. Also be aware that many cafes and restaurants add on a cover charge and also charge for bread. The apartment needs to upgrade its A.C as although we reported it was very low and not working at all, the 'fixed' ac was not really any better and only for the electric fan we would not have been able to sleep with the heat. Also no cooking facilities in the apartment, just a kettle and small fridge and had to fill kettle, wash cups etc from the bathroom sink. Renting a sun bed nearby cost €10 each per day and €6 for an umbrella which is twice that of Spain and Portugal..

Review 16:Location was amazing and view from little balcony of the port and prom was fabulous. 'Anna' was very helpful and friendly and supplied a little breakfast each day that was not included in the deal. Much appreciated. Also 'Berto' was very helpful in printing our boarding passes for return trip home. The town and surrounding cinque terre villages were amazing. Great base for exploring surrounding area by ferry or boat. Had no problems parking, Anna supplied us with a €10 per day parking permit within ten min walk of the old town.

Review 17:Early check out

Review 18:The view from the balcony in our room was lovely, the position of the title is also v convenient and a decent continental breakfast was on the house. The early check out - 10am - is a bit too early but we still had the chance to leave our luggage in the b&b whilst we went for a final swim in the beautiful water of Porto Venere.

Review 19:The location of the hotel was a far walk from parking, but that's due to the layout of the town. The owner did provide parking pass for free parking for zones 2 and 3.

Review 20:The staff was very helpful. The location was perfect. Room was large and very clean.

Review 21:Great location in the historical part of the city but close to the sea. Very friendly owner. Very nice room with a wonderful view. Pleasant breakfast. Nice osteria vis a vis - we reccomend

Review 22:Parking in portovenere is a nightmare so prepare yourself for a walk.

Review 23:It's a small little rustic house right to on top of the marina with a great view. The lady owner was extremely polite, helpful and pleasant, making sure that we'd need nothing else. The bathroom is very spacious, the bed was large, comfortable and clean, and there is a living/dining room with a couch that makes an extra couples bed. Breakfast is decent. Wi-Fi worked great. Location is excellent, tight in the middle of the village.

Review 24:Leaving.

Review 25:Porto venere itself was very nice little village with narrow, steep and old "no cars -alleys". There were just stunning views around, when you climb up the village. Also village's cemetery was quite unique, because of the steep cliffs and lack of space. We had very nice service everywhere although my italy is quite poor. Our hostess Anna was so nice, many thanks to her kindness and helpfullness! Apartment itself was spotlessly clean and cosy. Our nice little balcony above the harbour was best place to sit and have coffeebreak or sip some wine while watching boats to go and come. There wasn't any noisy restaurants around, so we enjoyed good sleeps at every three nights we stayed at this lovely place..

Review 26:After been to cinque terre for a few days I'm so glad I made a detour to portovenere, which became my favorite in the coastal trip. The village is lot more local with few overninght guests. Town is beautiful and small with only two streets, one along the harbor and one up behind the colorful building along the harbor. This hotel is on the later. It is a very narrow street with mostly local shops and residents. So a quite authentic feel. The hotel is a short walk from San puerto, which is great for sunset watching. And balcony directly overlooks the harbor. Very quite residential building.

Review 27:Absolutely everything, from the quaint cobbled back streets to the fabulous views, to Anna the lovely hostess. My husband was very sad to go as he could have taken root on the balcony watching eveything & everbody go by. The room was immaculate & breakfast filling. We would certainly recommend this B & B to EVERYONE!!!

Review 28:Need to park you car quite far (though the owner issues you a voucher that lets you park for 24h for just 5€). Room rate is a bit high for shoulder season.

Review 29:Location, location, location! Lady owner is very kind and helpful. The whole "hotel" consists of just 3 rooms so you are getting almost an exclusive experience.

Review 30:while I love everything about this Affittacamere and highly recommend it, Portovenere itself seems for me somehow unwelcoming place despite of its beauty

Review 31:Perfect location at the main street and with direct seaview, quiet despite of central location, very kind and helpful owner, big, comfortable room with separate eating/leaving area and large bathroom, beautiful decoration and of very good quality, good parking option (as for such location): not very far and at decent price

Review 32:What words could explain this beautiful, magic, historic, quaint steeping back in time coastal village with a scenic view from the room over looking the harbour. Anna the host was lovely & the room/bed/bathroom were immaculately kept. The water pressure in the shower was good the bed comfortable with extra pillows and blankets if needed. We were very sad to leave & next time will book for longer than 3 mites. You will not be disappointed.

Review 33:Lovely place right off the main alleyway in the old town. The whole place oozed atmosphere - we felt as if Byron could have been staying next door. We had a little balcony overlooking the harbour -fantastic! Room and bathroom were very well done out and comfortable. Breakfast in the little dining room was lovely and more than enough. A delightful place!

Review 34:Nothing to mention!

Review 35:View on the little harbour, nice rooms, the entrance from the old street. They offered breakfast!

Review 36:nothing

Review 37:very good location, clean, friendly and free breakfast +_+!!

Review 38:The location is amazing, the furnishings are so nice and comfortable, the staff are so nice!

Review 39:Cosy little studio, with balcony and view on the port of Portovenere. Nice breakfast offered by the owners!

Review 40:Excellent location and beautiful view

Review 41:Very friendly owner Amazing location

Review 42:The location was fantastic. The local restaurants were great with a cast range of food and local wines.

Review 43:Air con not strong enough to cool entire room

Review 44:Beautiful big room. Great location. Friendly staff

Review 45:All good

Review 46:Location staff friendliness

Review 47:excllent location, spectacular sea view, delicious breakfast, would stay here again

Review 48:Breakfast Italien with a Little boaring bread but otherwise okay

Review 49:Location, Room , view and cleanliness

Review 50:Difficulty in finding, as per most places we stayed in Italy

Review 51:Location, view, breakfast, and hospitality

Review 52:NARROW AND DARK

Review 53:VIEW FROM SMALL BALCONY

Review 54:I'm fussy - so breakfast was my only slight issue

Review 55:great view, location central, owner available to help always. No problems

Review 56:Great location to visit Cinque Terre a boat can take u there

Review 57:The view was amazing! Anna was very friendly and accommodating, had a wonderful stay!

Review 58:Nothing

Review 59:Location is Perfect and value for money is good. Balcony with a view over the harbour. Very good restaurants 50meters away.

Review 60:Wished the bed were more comfy. Bigger, softer

Review 61:We lives the view and that we were close to everything

Review 62:The place is a part of history, but that comes with an element of discomfort by 21st century standards. For us the slight downsides did not impact on the utter delight.

Review 63:We loved this place. Felt we had fallen into a little heaven on earth. Having admired the photos of portovenere it was wonderful to find ourselves right in the middle of that delightful piece of Italian history. We'll be back.

Review 64:The bed cover, but only because I have plenty of allergies - would recommend a synthetic duvet instead of an old blanket...

Review 65:The location : a balcony with a sea view! The hostess is wonderful. Highly recommended. We will definitely return there should we again to Portovenere.

Review 66:None, everything was perfect

Review 67:Biggest room we had the whole month in Europe! We had a living room, little breakfast table, a bedroom, a private bathroom, and a balcony! It was amazing! The balcony looked over the harbor and it was beautiful. Cutest little town as well, many good restaurants and markets. A very good breakfast as well. The room came with a coffee maker and some dishes. I really wish we had stayed here longer!

Review 68:Not having WiFi is the only thing that stops it from being perfect!!

Review 69:The location, the friendliness of the staff and the convenience of the facilities is simply unbeatable!! Fantastic view from the patio, nice breakfast and very, very kind people.

Review 70:As the room stays in the old town, only accessible on foot, you have to carry your luggage by hand. (it comes with the place, it's just as it is, if you wanna stay in the old town :)

Review 71:Staying in the middle of the old town, nice view from the small balcony. The person in charge was also very helpful.

Review 72:This was an amazing place in Porto Venere, we were pleasantly suprised on arrival to find it right above the strip of shops with amazing views over the harbour. We loved it!

Review 73:Staff don´t speak English and this is a huge disadvantage for tourists that do not speak italian.

Review 74:Everything was perfect, staff very friendly, beautiful and comfortable rooms.

Review 75:What a sensational little place, complete with fridge, clothes washer and a superb view from the little balcony. Bars and restaurants right below on the waterfront and the ferry to the Cinque Terre villages 150 meters away. In our view this is a far nicer village than any of the Cinque Terre. Access is form an pedestrian only lane so parking is a little further away.

Review 76:Parking in PortoVenere was a nighmare during high season. And not cheap! Be prepared to walk many tight stairs down to your room. Don't lug heavy suitcases.

Review 77:Being smack in the middle of the harbor town.

Review 78:Couldn't find any wine glasses to enjoy our bottle of vino on the balcony! Tepid milk at breakfast.

Review 79:Large room with balcony overlooking the harbour. Great air-con. Lovely lady owner who we managed to converse with in broken Italian/English!

Review 80:Our room was lovely and well equipped, and had a balcony with the most amazing view out over the port. It was so nice waking up to the sound of the ocean and sitting on the balcony with breakfast and a morning coffee watching the activity along the waterfront. Also restaurants and little shops were right outside the door, and the boat to the cinque terre leaves from just down the road

Review 81:the view and location

Review 82:Lovely apartment, perfect location, wonderful view of the sea and harbour, very kind owners. I will stay here again. :) Grazie mille!

Review 83:Pre wrapped croissants. But other food for breakfast.

Review 84:lovely view of harbor and comfortable for us. Location great. Small deck to take in view.
