Reviews for Gasthof Kronburg
Review 1:Nothing
Review 2:This is an amazing place to stay, very very special and memorable. Firstly, the friendliness of the staff, who sent a welcoming e-mail in advance, and when we got there made sure that we had every comfort and convenience. The dinner was first-rate; we ate outside with wonderful views over the little church and the mountains (be aware that there isn't anywhere else to eat once you get there). The room was spacious and spotlessly clean; the entire gasthof, while like a modern hotel, has a reflective quietness and calm. It has a deeply spiritual ambience, being run by the Church, but this is in no way forced upon you. I don't know when I've enjoyed staying in a place more; we will definitely be back.
Review 3:The internet operates a censorship filter. This is Austria, European Union -- not Saudi Arabia! I found this unacceptable. I understand that Kronburg is a religious institution (although I only learned this on arriving; it was not clear when I booked) but if it's open to the public, this is still not acceptable. I would also warn the reader not to pre-judge or make assumptions as to what I wanted to do on the internet that was blocked, because any such obvious assumptions will most likely be wrong; it was nothing sinister.
Review 4:Staff, breakfast, location
Review 5:A bit remote - it is a 15 minute drive from Zams, and not 4.5 km. Also, the wifi connection is not secure and I was unable to connect for this reason.
Review 6:Wonderful place and excellent food. The ladies that take care of the gasthaus are really, really nice.
Review 7:I imagine that the road up to Kronburg could be tricky if there was heavy snow. Maybe chains required.
Review 8:The guest-house was connected to the church and had a very peaceful aura. I used it as a base for skiing local resorts but also popular with walkers. Rooms comfortable and spacious, Half board food was plain but tasty; there was an a la carte menu which I did not try. I enjoyed my stay, but it is not suitable for people who wanted night life. Great view from Kronburg Castle.
Review 9:There were a few bits here and there in stark contrast with the rest of the place. Lights were dim and scarce, antique appliances in the room, beds were small.
Review 10:Quiet retreat next to a monastery.
Review 11:I'm not writing here why i do not like because I do not have something to say on the negative side, just want to share some important info: From the end of the village that is located at the same level of the highway/national road you have 1.6 km road until the hotel going up, and such distance in the summer is not an issue, but in the winter period the road might become slippery. The machine to take out the snow from the road is coming every day there and this is good, but sometimes you might need chains attached to the tires when the ice is present on the road surface. You do not need 4X4 traction , I did this road with FWD and only 1 time in 1 week period I attached the chains to the tires. You just need to drive carefully and you are safe. The address of the hotel can be found on the GPS, so no problem to find it, if you do not have GPS , from the village entrance, I forgot the name now, is starting with Sh(just look on the google map),just make right when the road is divided (50 m from the main road) and than keep straight ahead until the hotel, do not make left or right, the road is ending in front of the hotel.
Review 12:This hotel is isolated from city noise, you and the forrest there, BUT very close to town. The staff is very friendly, the room is very clean, free WiFi, great food, great location with the view of the city. The hotel have also room for keeping your boots and ski equipment, free parking, play room for different games like chess. The location of the hotel is making walking enthusiasts to come here and explore Tyrol mountain in all seasons, from the hotel you have 5 or 6 different destinations including a castle. I will definitely return here.
Review 13:WiFi seemed to be intermittent and only available in certain parts of the Building. Access can be difficult after heavy falls of snow and one may have to wait for the Snow Plough.
Review 14:Elevated position and Fantastic Scenery. A great place for walking. Friendly and helpful Staff
Review 15:We biked to the hotel not realizing the elevation and were almost dead by the time we got there
Review 16:The mountain scenery is exquisite from every vantage point. The hotel is totally modern but retains a mountain charm. We were upgraded to a suite which was nice. The food in the restaurant was good and that's important because once you are up there you aren't going anywhere else for dinner
Review 17:It could a bit quiet & isolated at night.
Review 18:Beautiful setting that was brilliant for walking, clean, quiet, friendly & spacious. Breakfasts were excellent. Although isolated it was easy to find. On local though road from the west cross the river south to north, then north to south & take next right & follow signs.
