Reviews for Austria Trend Hotel Europa Wien

Review 1:The furniture are old and almost destroyed from the time...old dusty carpets, noise from the heating, dust everywhere in the room. Just not a 4* hotel

Review 2:Location, breakfast, reception staff very helpful

Review 3:- Waiting too long at the bar to be served: the barman was counting his money and talking with his colleague instead of taking our order. - No small shampoo/soap pieces, only generic liquid soap (for a hotel of this class, this is a little cheap)

Review 4:- Very central location in Vienna - Nice breakfast with all hot and cold dishes - Clean rooms, not too noisy despite the fact we were there for New Year's Eve.

Review 5:I stay in this hotel every time I come to Vienna. The location is perfect, rooms are comfortable and clean with a good view. Breakfast is delicious. Staff is very professional. Special thanks to Seda Dincer, who was very helpful and professional. Recommend this hotel for stay in Vienna, hope you'll enjoy it the same as I did

Review 6:Found the reception staff rather offhand and not really friendly. An occasional smile would have been welcome.

Review 7:Good and comfortable hotel, very good location. Breakfasts very good.

Review 8:No tea/coffee facilities in the room but you can ask for a kettle for an extra charge. Nice little bar for a nightcap.

Review 9:Lovely hotel between Karlsplatz and Stephansdom. Plenty of shops and restaurants in the area so did not book breakfast. Excellent understated service and standard of cleanliness.

Review 10:Excellent central location. The bed and pillows were very comfortable but the room was small with the bed pushed against the wall. Not ideal for a couple!

Review 11:Bathroom needs some improvement (bathtub outdated and uncomfortable), staff service sometimes slow (in the hotel bar).

Review 12:Friendly receptionists, they took care of our car upon arrival. location in the city center, very good breakfast, abundance of choice.

Review 13:rooms a bit small, especially the bathroom... when showering, some of the water spill over into the bathroom floor (they all now have those walk in showers... kind of ok, but always wet outside!)

Review 14:Very friendly and helpful staff, gave some good tipps for parking. Location was awesome, just a 5 min walk to the Stephansdom downtown! Enough space for 2 suitcases to put down and open. Didn´t have breakfast, so can´t tell about that. You have your own heating in the room, can adjust it for your likeing...

Review 15:If you need a shampoo, barh gel or anything alse - you have to ask. Bathroom is too small. A little noisy.

Review 16:The location is great! The bad is comfortuble.

Review 17:Too expensive breakfast, not worth the money. The smell of smoke in the room and the stairs was not very nice.

Review 18:Really in the middle of the city, on the shopping street. Nice hotel bar.

Review 19:Dissapointed with the conseirge. They repeatedly asked me to come back a in 5 minutes few times. I did, he was busy then on break then he went off duty. I just wanted a few tickets, didn't get any help. I was really disappointed. I will not go back. I will pay money for better service, I felt unimportand. Being kind spirited I did not complain to make a fuss.....until now, since you asked.

Review 20:Great location, clean.

Review 21:Only that there wasn't someone to help us with the luggage up the stairs to the lift.

Review 22:Room was very clean and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. Also the hotel is right next to the central shops and square making it very easy to explore the city and not get lost.

Review 23:Perfectly located at the heart of Vienna; nice, clean, OK. There are details which depend on tastes: beds are really too soft; nothing to protect from sunlight in the windows...

Review 24:cable channels in German except CNN bed cover child size no coffee in room coffee cup size appropriate for children no drawers just shelves breakfast always the same assortment of cheeses limited minibar limited and is not refilled A/C is not user friendly

Review 25:excellent customer service

Review 26:I have no idea how this hotel got a 4 star rating. It's more like 2.5. The hose of the shower head was severely leaking, which made it difficult to shower, it was difficult getting out of the bath because of how high it is in comparison to the floor, faulty wiring at the bedside lamp, mysterious stains on the chairs, water stains on the walls and 70's decor. Basic amenities were missing, such as body lotion or a kettle with instant coffee and tea bags. We rang the reception and asked for a kettle, they said that they would look for one. When we got it we were not given any tea or coffee to actually mix with the boiling water. Overpriced.

Review 27:The excellent location.

Review 28:I simply liked everything!!! A fantastic place with very nice and helpful staff. The location is amazing, a few meters from Vienna Opera House, city attractions and nice restaurants. The breakfast is one of the best I`ve ever had. I will surely be back at this Hotel again.

Review 29:Maybe the common spaces need an update, but in general I don't have any complains.

Review 30:The location of the hotel is excellent. The staff is always willing to help, and they helped us indeed to print a document when we needed it. It has conditioned air we even had an upgrade for the same price.

Review 31:Perfect location for us. We had never been to Vienna before so it was easy to get wherever we wanted with little effort. Helpful staff and great room.

Review 32:nothing but as suggestion, they should consider that whenever family is having a child , a bigger room to be given, some rooms are a bit small but would be fine for couople, but with child they should consider to give the bigger rooms of same catagory

Review 33:Everything was fine, location is fantastic.

Review 34:It'd have been great to have sleepers (gowns were provided), bathroom accessories were refreshed after the special request.

Review 35:Perfect location, metro station - two min from the hotel, all the main attractions are within 5-10 min walking distance. Careful and hospitable staff, all the requests were quickly and easily solved. Nice benefits for executive rooms - lounge, water in minibar, Nespresso coffee throughout the day. Quiet and clean room, nice view to the New Market square. Very comfortable stay.

Review 36:The room was cramped and could have been designed better - the shower had little water pressure and flooded the floor every time it was used

Review 37:Great central location and good breakfast

Review 38:The hotel looked dated. Everything you needed but it lacked design and joy. Perhaps mostly geared to business travelers. The bathroom was perhaps the worst part. Anyone older would have a real issue getting in and out of the tub,the bed was not really comfy and there was no curtain or real door for the shower and the water went everywhere...

Review 39:The WiFi was excellent. No need for password and it didn't time out like in other hotels. The location was great! Close to everything.

Review 40:No room service. Separated beds & bed sheets. Size of the room is too small. No kitchen in the hotel which was shocking for us!

Review 41:Location is the only advantage you can get. Also, free WIFI can be considered as an advantage

Review 42:Location is excellent. Really good value for money. Rooms are large and modern. breakfast was excellent. This is not a luxury hotel but very practical and very comfortable.

Review 43:Nothing!

Review 44:The staff were incredibly polite and accommodating. This hotel is right in the centre of Vienna minutes walk from the Hofberg Palace (Spanish horse riding school), the museum district and St Stephen's Cathedral.

Review 45:Lack of laundry facilities.

Review 46:Professional reception staff, very helpful. Comfortable room with extra facilities like the Executive Lounge to use. Close to shopping and walking distance to museums and churches.

Review 47:Parking only possible with hotel valet.

Review 48:We liked everything, location, room, service... great option is small nespresso unit in the room and such a good coffee

Review 49:Breakfast was extremely expensive.

Review 50:We loved the location. We were near the old Centre and there were fantastic restaurants in the same square. There was also an incredible grocery store next door. The hotel was comfy and air conditioned.

Review 51:We arrived and apparently our booking was cancelled, but that wasn't true, I called booking and it was still active!! we hassled them and all went well at the end but after we were pissed off!! There was one lady on the front desk who is training, don't bother asking her for information!! The idea of using a card for the elevator is tricky, if u forget the card in your room or if it's deactivated, you are trapped!!

Review 52:The location was perfect, if you don't care for luxury and you're more practical then this is a very good place to stay. Ask Stephan at the reception for information (places to eat, recommendations, etc.)

Review 53:Mattress and pillows were too soft. Breakfast menu was too limited and too expensive. Poor value for money, so went elsewhere.

Review 54:lovely room, excellent location.

Review 55:I've booked room with the Launch option. The choose of snacks and drinks were very, very poor! The thinks were not added on time.

Review 56:Everything was good. The location is the best.

Review 57:- Hotel rooms were small for our group of 8 people (including 3 children and one infant). When we requested for extra beds, staff provided matress on the floor because extra bed cannot be provided to our rooms. Upon verifying the availability of room upgrading, we were informed that all hotel suites were fully booked on that high season and the rooms we have already (Executive rooms) are the big ones! - We had free access to the disssapointing Executive Lounge, of which include coffee, tea, few selection of bread and empty bottles of wated (no wander why the hall was empty all the time). - The WiFi was not good either, you need to reconect every time you walk in the hotel (it doesn't connect autmatically). - The bath tub was half isolated from other bathroom area and one shower is enough to drawn the bathroom with water (and the rooms of course, if you did not provide towels down the bathroom toilet). - No public parking near by the hotel area (it is always busy there). Moreover, the hotel private parking cost us 36 Euro per night. - It felt that no sound-proof system in there. We could hear other guests voices and foot steps very clearly inside our rooms (very annoynig, especially at sleep time). - The elevators were small (two main elevators with max. 6 persons allowed for each). - On the way to hotel rooms from the elevator, there are few stairs step should be taken (could be challenging for elderly people or people with special needs). This note was no where noticed during booking or hotel fine print. - The reception area was too small (only one sofa was available and fits 3 persons).

Review 58:- Hotel location is perfect (St. Stephans street is right behind the hotel and room-viewed). Amazing spot for shopping and dining. - The breakfast was good and served between 06:30 AM to 10:30 AM (however, if you came in the last hour, it is very likely to be informed by the staff that most of the food is over! - There was a free conceirge service to take care of baggage carrying (a service you may not find in most of hotels in Europe). - Staff at reception desk and breakfast hall were nice and friendly.

Review 59:The Air condition was very bad and when we complain for two times they told us that all rooms is like that because it's based on water cycle. Also the cleaning is very disappointing no sheets change, cleaning the baskets.

Review 60:Location

Review 61:Overlooked Karntner Strasse and was a bit noisy with deliveries in the morning.

Review 62:We were fortunate to be given an upgrade room which was great. The location is fab and overall everything met expectations.

Review 63:Room was a little light in the morning as the veulux window blind had not blackout.

Review 64:Excellent firm beds! The location is perfect for a weekend break. We got a free upgrade and the executive lounge has a buffet.

Review 65:Needing the key to operate the lift to get out, no button to call the lift, if the keycard didn't work, needed to get staff to call lift

Review 66:Location location location, big room, great bathroom, excellent staff, will definitely stay again,

Review 67:The staff specially stefan at the reception was very nice and help ful

Review 68:The cleaning lady will enter the room even if don't want her to come in. There is no mosquito barrier on a window in bathroom, so too many insects was in the room: small cockroaches, butterflies and so on, even on the second day when the window was already closed.

Review 69:English speaking stuff is friendly. Location it is just 6-7 minutes walking from train station.

Review 70:The staff gave us a lower graded room from my booking and they didn't notice us until we got all our luggages into the room. Although we got a sort-of better graded room at the end, the dishonesty from the staff still didn't make the stay pleasant.

Review 71:Great hotel with best location, most of sites are walking distance, underground is 1 min by walk from the hotel. Lots of shops, restaurants, cafés near by. Staff was very helpful , very good breakfast

Review 72:No problem in any way

Review 73:Absolutely superb city location right by Stephansplatz and the Cathedral and on one of the main shopping streets. A lovely vibrant location that suits well for seeing the city on foot. The room was lovely and the staff so helpful.

Review 74:Price for breakfast (17 eur) was too high compared to cafes and delis (just next door was Henry's where you could make your own muesli+yogurth+fruit salad + coffee for 4.90 eur). There was a faint smell of smoking as if previous guests had smoked in the room.

Review 75:Excellent location for a city-break. Nice and tidy.Special map for a nice morning-run in the neighbourhood.

Review 76:Air conditioning was hardly working. There was just Austrian channels on the tv, the slidind door on the shower was missing and there was no shampoo in the shower

Review 77:Location was great. The room was very nice but it is too bad that by lack of maintenance or household there were so many problems in the room

Review 78:The internet connection (although free) was not reliable. I kept losing the connection in my room

Review 79:On arrival my room was upgraded at no cost by the receptionist :) Very clean room, comfortable bed, great location , close to metro, shops and restaurants

Review 80:The air conditioner was a bit antiquated. Also being located between the window and the curtains made it awkward at night with the curtains drawn, but we managed!

Review 81:The location, location, location! The room was clean and comfortable and the staff very helpful.

Review 82:The air con is getting old and a bit noisy when the fan is turned up.

Review 83:Hotel is in the middle of the shopping street but the double-glazed window kept the noise away. Front desk staff friendly and helpful.

Review 84:The weather was excessively warm however the air conditioning was very well....

Review 85:The staff at reception was over the top with hospitality sharing their knowledge of the old city with us freely. Stephen, Seka, & Rainer made our stay in Vienna memorable. We will gladly return to Austria Trend Europa.

Review 86:Very friendly and helpful staff who speak english. Very comfortable stay. 10 minute walk in any direction takes you to all the places you need to see in Vienna. i.e. Strauss Statue...national theatre, opera, ...St Steven's Catherdral, shopping in Karntner Strabe.

Review 87:Was expecting shampoo and had to buy some . Since Ionly have coffee and a croissant for breakfast , there should be a half price breakfast too .

Review 88:Everything from the obliging and welcoming staff to the comfort and cleanliness of my room and bed . Most of all it was right in the middle and I walked everywhere . Loved it !!

Review 89:It was faultless. There is not much more to say other than maybe on the website, indicate that the front entrance is not on the main pedestrian strip but then again maybe I missed the instruction when booking.

Review 90:The door to the room did not shut tight, which could cause a noisy environment. The door to the bathroom was made of frosted glass, did not have a lock and it did not shut tight either. You could see into the bathroom (both the shower and the toilet). The bathroom in our room was placed in the hallway, which made the problem with the gaping door less.

Review 91:The room was clean. The hotel had an excellent location - in the middle of many areas that a tourist might be interested in.

Review 92:The room itself was pretty outdated, but still very clean.

Review 93:The location could not have been better for this hotel! Walking distance to all the top tourist attractions and museums.

Review 94:There was some stairs before the elevator. A problem if you havedifficulties with stairs. Internet was quite slow sometimes. Can´t besure but I suspect that wlan is more to blame than my Ipad.

Review 95:Very nice staff, big and clean rooms, located in the absolutecity centre

Review 96:Not a thing

Review 97:The effort on the part of the staff was as good as any that we have received in some of the finest and expensive hotels around the world. Good advice on dining, attractions and directions.

Review 98:The bath tub was quite small, but for one night it is ok.

Review 99:The room has a lot of space and i was surprised how confortable the bed is, i felt at home. The breakfast was excellent. The staff very friendly.

Review 100:The reception and the rooms have stairs, is not the best for someone in a wheelchair or special needs.

Review 101:The location is the best feature. You can reach anywhere just walking. The room was spacious and quiet.

Review 102:The hotel staff were friendly and very helpful and efficient. The breakfast was great and the bathroom was fantastic. Also loved the location- very close to the Opera House and museums and galleries.

Review 103:Just a small one, the toilet tub was small and the water temperature control was a bit hard.

Review 104:I can say, with a bigger smile, that this hotel will be my preference one from now on. The staff, all of them are fantastic people and I want mention especially the receptionist young lady Seda Fatima.

Review 105:My nieces and nephew shared an executive room the art pieces were attractive- but the toilet reeked of pee - the bathroom needed more attention -space needed between the sink and the shower, and they complained about the beds being uncomfortable

Review 106:The cleanliness of my standard room, bathroom included , the comfort of the mattress and pillows. The bar staff - Alban and Daniel offered exceptional service - we spent a great deal of time in the bar as it was our meeting point and our oasis at night after a night out in Vienna we always found our way back for a night cap

Review 107:The free wi-fi was appreciated but was sometimes slow, particularly in the evening.

Review 108:The hotel is just a few steps away from Stefansdom and from the Graben, as well as just 5 minutes away from the Opera and the Museums. The staff was attentive and the hotel was clean and modern, so nothing to complain about.

Review 109:Nothing particularly, perhaps WI-FI but not that important.

Review 110:Located at a perfect area, very clean, staff is friendly. Especially Seda at frontdesk was extremely helpful. It was a pleasure to stay at this hotel.

Review 111:To get to the left you have to use like 10 steps stair. No ironing machine in the room only one room for this purpose in fifth floor if each floor has one it would be better but those also were minors

Review 112:Mostly everything the reception staff were very cooperative housekeeping staff were very very polite room were clean and spacious overlooked karntnerstrabe the busy street. We stayed in executive room with access to executive lounge which was nice with a varaity of hot drink. Breakfast was value for money hotel location in the heart of vienna. Nobody can get to the floors unless he got door card

Review 113:Some noise from Kärntnerstrasse could interrupt sleeping in the weekends, but not more than you have to expect in the middle of a city. And it's a shopping street more than a party street.

Review 114:Nice hotel in brilliant location. Minibar, safe, flatscreen tv and a comfortable bed, plus a small but clean and nice bathroom.

Review 115:WiFi connection is not strong and reliable. There are not enough English language channels on TV.

Review 116:Personnel is wonderful. Location of the hotel is perfect, close to everything - restaurants, cafes, shops & museums. Breakfast is good, a lot of choices to make. The bed is comfortable.

Review 117:Staff Service: We had a very unpleasant situation when asked reception staff to book a car to the airport at their special offer (displayed at the reception desk). But in turned out later that the sraff just called a usual taxi cab which was much more expensive. Wi-Fi quality was poor.

Review 118:Location is excellent, rooms are spacious and clean.

Review 119:the WiFi didn't work as I was expecting since I was there for business purposes. Intermittent access to the net and when I asked them to find a solution they replied I was the first to complain! Furthermore, the room was not very clean and the air conditioning didn't work properly. It was very hot and you couldn't stop the heating. There are a lot of other hotels a bit away which are a lot better with a better price. It's the third time in the last 10 years I stay in this hotel and I believe that they just sell in very high prices the very good location in the city center.

Review 120:very good location of the hotel

Review 121:Little bit warm during sleeping

Review 122:Perfect location, we could see Steffl Store from the window:) Room is very cozy and modern designed. Great breakfast. Garage for car. Every time in Vienna we stayed in different hotels but we finally found our favorite! We are coming back definitely!

Review 123:Everything else sucks: no service at all, the executive lounge"doesnot offer any food or drinks, just bread, butter, and water, thecomputer in the lounge did not work, Internet very slow, thereceptionists do not give prompt directions, not so friendly stuff, didnot change toilet paper, etc.

Review 124:Only 2 good thnigs - The location and the room size for the money I havepaid for an executive room, everything else - no good!

Review 125:The double bed was two single beds brought together.. You easily fall in the crack :(

Review 126:The location at the heart of the city The breakfast selection The spacious rooms Fantastic large windows looking over the shopping street

Review 127:The hotel doesn´t have the old Wien atmosphere and although its new has no really modern style

Review 128:Position is EXCELLENT for shopping and Opera visit, the rooms are comfortable and breakfast is also very good, definitelly good value for money

Review 129:Excellent location - in the heart of Vienna! The staff is friendly, always ready to help. The room was clean and comfortable. I will highly recommend the hotels to all my friends.

Review 130:The service level of the employees is under the level we normally experience in this price range (320,- euro per night). During check in the employee did not have time at all for us and it looked like she had to finish the check in within one minute without giving us any information we needed for our stay. What was not described in our reservation or booking papers but only was told us during our check OUT and not during the check in was that the mini bar for our room was included in the room price. This information of course should be given at the beginning of our stay during the check in and not when leaving the hotel. So after all we had paid for a service which we couldnot use since we didnot know we had it. The free use of the food and drinks of executive lounge during the complete days till 21.00 oclock was described in our booking papers, but in practise the food in this bar was just available in the mornings. Also the intetnet/wifi in our room was not of sufficient quality. So, our final conclusion is that this hotel was ok (not bad), but far too expensive for the service and comfortlevel as offerd in practise.

Review 131:The location and breakfast in this hotel is good. We booked an executive room which was relative big and ok, but for round 320,- euro per single night we expected more comfort and quality.

Review 132:No slippers and no bathrobes in the room, also no hygiene kits in the bathroom.

Review 133:Location is perfect for exploring Vienna city center, our room was quite small, but cosy and always clean.

Review 134:- bathroom door is a simple sliding window panel with no smell isolation or sound. If you're single it would be ok, but with someone else in the room it's really uncomfortable using the toilet, if you know what I mean. It's also the same at restaurants, where they use transparent glass in front of the toilet seat. Awesome view - I would propose unisex toilets next. - WiFi was free, great connectivity and performed better than the one in Ibiza. Speed could still be better, though.

Review 135:- location was perfect: right near central subway station, shops street, Opera, etc. - good English speaking personnel and polite - it's nice to begin the morning with a smile! - tasty breakfast choices. The freshly baked croissants were my gf's favorite; I was impressed by the mini breads and cottage cheese - awesome view of the plaza below. I had a nice room. - LED TV is a nice touch - wish I would've brought an USB stick with movies

Review 136:I really cannot understand why the lady from the cleaning was keep entering into the room, checking the minibar, bringing the bottles, etc. Why dont you do this stuff when we are out of the room ? It was really bad. This happens really often, we have been here 6 times and last time was the same.

The Fine Print
