Reviews for Residence Campo Smith

Review 1:Staff rude, apartment worn out, electrics unsafe, insufficient heating, broken beds! We paid for 4 beds, got only 2, as the other 2 kept breaking every time you sit.

Review 2:Really unfortunate choice to pick this place - 3 nights out of 4 there was a local beer festival just in front of the hotel and the party with terrible music lasted up to 3am. Impossible to sleep! And our room wasn't even directly faced to the stage, can't imagine the feelings of those who lived in such rooms. According to recp. the hotel was fully booked, so we couldn't change the rooms. Unpleasant experience :(

Review 3:Clean rooms, reasonable cost, friendly staff

Review 4:Not a lot. Floors could have been a little bit cleaner in the apartment.

Review 5:Kids summer camp. Friendliness and helpfulness of the Ski School Bardonecchia staff (who run the kids summer camp). Location - lots of stunning walks and other outdoor activities, plus it is just a few miles from France. The apartments are located next to lots of the activities (and the ski slopes in winter). Lack of a built up tourist industry - we were treated like visitors rather than tourists. Very friendly.

Review 6:Nothing negative to report.

Review 7:Fantastic location - right on the ski lifts. Access to everything you need (equipment hire, lessons etc.) on the site. Very good value.

Review 8:No laundry facilities or shop close by. Had to drive into town.

Review 9:Excellent location and very helpful staff. Ski hire, spa and great wine bar (Lalimentari) right on the door step.

Review 10:Probably was just bad Luck but in our apartment the temperature of the heaters was stucked at 25 degrees and there was no way to put it down and it was a Hell at night ...too hot.

Review 11:The location is amazing!!! And the staff was lovely.

Review 12:there aren't any extra couvertures and we were frozen and we couldn't sleep very well and there was not the possibility to change the temperature of the room

Review 13:The noise from other apartments is too strong, very poor isolation.

Review 14:Wonderful area, close walks to the town center, plenty of walking routes starting in Bardonecchia, Melezet and other surrounding villages. Great staff, polite and very helpful. The benefit of booking on booking.com was that we got a 2-room appartment for the price of a studio, and for 6 days (an option that is impossible on the site of the Campo Smith itself).

Review 15:Not much in terms of shopping or places to eat. A few pubs opened at 7.This is probably to be expected in the summer months and a Sunday night.

Review 16:Location good for us for 1 night as travelling through europe back toparis. Going up Ski lift even though summer great to see the mountains.Rooms spacious for the 5 of us compared to other places in europe.

Review 17:Poorly insulated, bad old beds, mostly bunk beds and pull out sofas. Not more than very basic Confort. Go to Igloo Cafe for your breakfast. Wifi is not very strong.

Review 18:The reception is extremely friendly. The complex is located in a quiet part of town with direct access to the slopes and offers lots if specialized rental companies. Free wifi and ample free parking.

Review 19:The photo of the hotel on Booking.com is not the hotel. This is 2 hotels in 1. It's the ex-olympic hotel that has been broken up and campo smith got the worst part. No breakfast fascilities but bar and food is ok

Review 20:Location excellent

Review 21:Clean and decently comfortable, reasonably priced. Dog accepted without surcharge.

Review 22:Very little non-skiing activities. No shop in complex with town a 10 minute walk away.

Review 23:Skiing convenience - family friendly

Review 24:Great place under rated

Review 25:Few snow!!

Review 26:Nowhere close to buy provisions or fresh bread in the morning. Had to drive into the main town. Noisy bar at night nearby.

Review 27:Ideal location. Helpful staff. Spacious apartment. Great value.

Review 28:One member of staff really grumpy and not helpful at all, no grocery shop around Campo Smith, cooking facilities should be upgraded

Review 29:Location, Location, Location! Underground car park,

Review 30:Could use a bit of sound proofing between floors-all those tiled floors mean footsteps etc from overhead could be clearly heard in our apt. Supermarket in the town is 20mins walk away although a free bus runs until approx 5.30. We were able to buy milk in pizzeria next door but a small shop with some essentials nearby would have been helpful. Very small supply of toilet roll supplied in appt & no laundry facilities in the complex .

Review 31:Had ground floor apartment which meant kids could play in snow right outside the door. Could ski to the door! Close to ski hire shops and just minutes walk to ski lift Good restaurants with very friendly and helpful staff. English spoken by almost everyone we encountered. Free crèche / kids club & the girl was lovely - only used it once but could have used it more .

Review 32:Would have liked better bus / transport service to town/shops. Would be nice if there was a shop in the complex.

Review 33:Location beside slopes, large clean apartment , lovely hot showers.

Review 34:Its not a major negative but there are no shops close by to get food supplies so bring your breakfast for the first morning!

Review 35:We travelled with children age 3 and 6. The location was perfect just beside the baby slope and ski school meeting point. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We will happily go back to Campo Smith again.

Review 36:But beds were very uncomfortable and not enough sheets/blankets provided. kids club was small and claustrophobic.

Review 37:large apartment in a great location, right next to the slopes - a real bonus when trying to get kids to ski school on time. Parking underneath the residence is handy, and the reception were friendly and helpful at all times.

Review 38:Bardonecchia is lacking the shopping center - so I'd recommend to visit Briancon in France (beautifull 30 km of drive accross mountains). The only small problem we had - is that the rooms are cleaned once a week.

Review 39:We arrived very late at night - but still were able to get the key to the room. The hotel is quiet, perfectly located, with planty of free parking spaces, and the beautifull trails are just a couple of minutes of drive from the hotel. The appartment was quite good furnished, the kitchen allows to prepare your own food. We had a very large balcony with a moutain view. Dogs are welcomed - so we have had no problems with our friend. There is also no national park around - so the dog can enjoy mountain trails with you. We definitely plan to visit the place next year - despite the very long distance from our home (2000 km)

Review 40:The corridor smelled of cigaret...

Review 41:It was very clean and the room was very big, (we had book a big apartment that can accommodate 4 people, but we were just 2). The kitchen had everything you need for a short vacation.

Review 42:Staff did not exist because I was in gap between ski and summer season.I had to go to another hotel and get them to call and locate a stafferto get me and give me a key and show me to my room. After that staff didnot exist. Not a big deal after I got in as I was just there to hike fora few days in the alps.

Review 43:Location was great esp. Because I could use train to get directly intothe italian alps.

Review 44:Self catering facilities can definitely improve i.e. no washbasin plug, no microwave, internal heating not constant, no kettle. Very noisy, especially Friday and Saturday nights. Requires general upkeep and maintenance.

Review 45:Location Easy access on bus route

Review 46:Looked like a prison camp. Apartments in poor state of repair and very basic. Facing hanging off outside of apartment door and no balcony rail, it had been removed so other guests used the area to knock snow off etc making it noisy. Ground floor apartment noisy with communal entrance. Only one toilet roll for three days.

Review 47:Location near the slopes, friendliness of reception staff. No queues at lifts.

Review 48:Many skiiers without control, easy to be mowed down from behind. Had to pay extra for the spa,

Review 49:The setting next to the skislopes were excellent for our purpose. Everything you basically need except groceries very nearby. the communal bath was just over the road.

Review 50:Very busy during half term. Restaurants start dinner at 7 pm, not great if your child is used to eating earlier. Some of the staff might benefit from a bit of customer service training.

Review 51:Ski to door. Many skiing schools in the complex, with great instructors. There was a mix-up with our booking and we were very unhappy with the apartment we were offered at first. We complained and were given a spacious and very comfortable apartment, with a great view (at no extra cost).

Review 52:location was great. we had a ground floor room so could ski straight out to the lift. a couple of problems with the booking that were sorted fairly promptly by the staff. Kitchenette useful but no shop nearby

Review 53:Friendly helpful staff and excellent location, facilities and town for a short summer stop over.

Review 54:It was really hard to enter the building. especially from the parking

Review 55:Good location next to slope. Nice rooms with GREAT balconies.

Review 56:Nothing

Review 57:Cleanliness very good

Review 58:Flat was a bit cold and it took time to heat it

Review 59:Perfect location to go skiing

Review 60:Being next to colomion ski slopes The possibility of renting ski material just in the campus

Review 61:The location was great, rooms with kitchen.

Review 62:No local supermarket During weekdays, most bars closed pretty early(20:00ish)

Review 63:Location - right next to the slopes

Review 64:Very limited facilities in the apartment.

Review 65:Very close to the ski lift and bottom of slope. Good value accommodation.

Review 66:No Wifi connection No Oven or Mircowave

Review 67:Location

Review 68:No supermarket in Campo Smith, pathjs a bit slippery with ski boots on.

Review 69:Location is great, right next to slopes

Review 70:beds are very uncomfortable, spa is a bit expensive,no internet.

Review 71:good location,lovely view from the balcony,friendly receptionists,big rooms,kitchen.

Review 72:sui campi da sci e la natura, appartamenti ampi, ben arredati e puliti. Bar e ristoranti nel complesso.
