Reviews for Hotel Belvedere
Review 1:The staff was nonexistent, very cold and not welcoming. They forgot to give us back our passports when we checked out left and we had to go back.
Review 2:The room view was stunning.
Review 3:The breakfast was not up to standard for such an establishment. We arrived an hour before it was due to finish and a lot of the food had already been eaten and was not replenished.
Review 4:The position of this establishment was perfect to take in the spectacular views of the bay and Portovenere. Close to restaurants and just above the promenade. We paid extra for a room with a sea view and it was extremely comfortable. The hotel was accommodating in alllowing us to leave our luggage there for the afternoon after we had checked out.
Review 5:Our visit was too short
Review 6:Location was wonderful, view of the bay was pretty and breakfast was very nice. We enjoyed this area and alllll the sights of Portovenere including the trail on Palmaria
Review 7:Breakfast was very basic. Wifi was free which was amazing for being in Italy (not common to find) however Internet was very slow.
Review 8:Loved the proximity to the centre of Portovenere. Almost all rooms have amazing sea view and great lighting. Very quiet and safe location.
Review 9:Very poor breakfast buffet. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was not great either - better food to be found in town. Our room was OK but in need of an update.
Review 10:Great location on the waterfront with nice views, and close to ferry dock for traveling around the lake. Nice terrace with a small pool to cool off in.
Review 11:A rather pricy hotel
Review 12:Large airy room with balcony and sea-view, somehow dated, but still wellkept, clean and nice. Good sized bath. Basic, but good breakfast, with healthy choices like fruit and vegetarkost, plus bread, pastry, yoghurt and cereals. The breakfast-area is partly a large open balcony with a great sea-view as well.
Review 13:Nothing.
Review 14:A classic hotel, with cozy old fashioned atmosphere. The location is superb. For Italian standards the breakfast was excellent. Friendly staff.
Review 15:The walls are bit thiny between the rooms, but for a short stay was no problem.
Review 16:Very firendly staff. Nice sea-view, the location. Close to the port to Cinque Terre. Air-conditioning. Everywhere available free wi-fi.
Review 17:Furniture in rooms is a bit dated. Shower is very small. Note: lift is for 1 person and has a low weight limit. There are several high steps to get into hotel and lift.
Review 18:5 minute walk to waterfront. Lovely water views. Comfy beds. Friendly staff. Parking. Lift / elevator.
Review 19:Parking was an issue, but we managed to get one of only three slots outside the hotel. No pool.
Review 20:Location a little outside the noisy town centre. Access to all facilities in 5 minutes walk.
Review 21:Parking at busy times in Portovenere is a 'challenge' beware! Lovely hotel but you do pay for it. This was a treat whilst staying in Portovenere for the festival of the White madonna festival, that is exceptional and a bucket list desire.
Review 22:Excellent spot for Portovenere and further exploration of the cinque terre. Rooms are comfortable and sky access is a bonus. Nice breakfast on the terrace.
Review 23:The staff seemed dislocated from the guests and showed little interest whether we were dead or alive. The promise of parking on Booking.com ad was not realized, so we had to park over one kilometer away from the hotel. Breakfast was very simple and in tact with the feeling that guests are not the center of attention.
Review 24:We loved the view from our room, which made up for the room itself, which is outdated and tired. Breakfast was okay, but the sea view from the terrace balcony made up for that. Location is perfect, and Porto Venere itself is a dream.
Review 25:Appalling internet background music in seating area which was jumpy/intermittent and best when switched off. One staff member (female) was brusque but the other staff members were lovely. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room
Review 26:Great position, fabulous view and some really nice staff. Good breakfast.
Review 27:It is one of the pricier hotels but we have no regrets. We hope to return in the future.
Review 28:The hotel was centrally located and the parking cost was very reasonable and flexible to visit surrounding sights. The room was comfortable and clean. We had breakfast at the hotel the whole week and enjoyed coffee on the terrace. The staff was available and helpful. There were great local spots to visit with easy access to visit surrounding sites by train, boat, hiking and driving.
Review 29:The location of the hotel was great; away from the shopping street but close enough of everything. The hotel was a beautiful old hotel with a good breakfast and very cosy and clean rooms. Definitely worth of recommendations!
Review 30:The WIFI was not good-we could not access with our original ocean view room, and had to be switched to a street view room. Breakfast was not fantastic.
Review 31:The location is right in the center of town, near the downtown shops and restaurants The hotel was very clean The young man who works there was very pleasant and willing to work with us.
Review 32:Bedrooms pretty small and in need of updating
Review 33:Good location.
Review 34:Convenient location with nice views from waterfront room,
Review 35:The Internet connection is really bad. Have to go down stairs to get the signal.
Review 36:Nice view, easy access to everything.

Review 70:Convenient location, quiet hotel, good breakfast on lovely veranda.
Review 71:location, sea view, atmosphere
Review 72:Nice view, verry good service and Portovenere old town is a butiful and quiet place
Review 73:Everything about our stay was fantastic! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, the room had a fantastic view of the water and the bed was comfy. We also enjoyed our breakfast overlooking the water.
Review 74:A little pricy but think that is just the whole area to stay. Restaurants etc are still reasonably priced so do stay here and give it a try!
Review 75:Staff were very friendly, printed train routes for us and helped. Location is PERFECT, thanks
Review 76:They did not have an ocean view room that allowed us to connect withtheir wifi network. We ended up switching rooms in order to be able toaccess their wifi. It is an extremely slow connection as well.Staff were sometimes friendly, sometimes testy. Young man who works there was the most friendly staff person. Others were brusque or even rude. Breakfast was not even at basic European standards.
Review 77:It was located right in the middle of the bay, close to thecenter of town.Very clean hotel, comfortable beds and pillows.
Review 78:Very noisy indeed from the bar on the ground floor (not part of hotel). Music and loud chatting till past 1.00 am. The main road into town runs past the hotel, so traffic started up early; although it's only a small town so not too bad. Small petrol station between hotel and road. Wifi very dodgy in room, but fine in public rooms.
Review 79:Views over the bay from our little balcony were delightful. The staff were friendly and helpful. Good location for bus, and only a short walk to main square, ferry, tourist info, restaurants. Gorgeous little town, very well located for Cinque Terre.
Review 80:Minuscule bathroom with the tiniest bathroom we've even seen. Overall hotel decor very basic. Very hard and uncomfortable pillows. Very hard Double bed was 2 singles pushed together. Wifi reception non existent in the rooms but reception was good in the lobby and breakfast area.
Review 81:Location was 3 minutes walk to the square and church. Byron's bay a short walk with interesting alleys to explore. Helpful management and staff.
Review 82:The helpfulness of the staff, especially Adrianna who on short notice & wIth a full hotel found for us the perfect harbour facing room. The position of the hotel overlooking the harbour in the town of Portoferraio. Plus its closeness to the ferry terminal & many restaurants.
Review 83:Small bathroom and small shower and little place for 2 luggage pieces. Specially if you are travelling for 3 long weeks
Review 84:Good situation and helpful staff. Overall good quality
Review 85:Delicious continental breakfast, accommodating and extremely helpful staff, clean and spacious rooms. We were lucky enough to have gotten a room with a balcony. We sat out on it and watched the boats come in and out of the harbor all evening. I'd return to this hotel in a heartbeat!
Review 86:Small bathroom. Wi-fi internet don`t working proper at room, but not problem with connection in lobby, good speed.
Review 87:Very good location. Room with sea view. Very close to all Portovenere attractions. Very good breakfast, including ham, cheese and fresh fruits. Close to parking places, if available, or garage.
Review 88:Rooms were adequate but showers very tight. Breakfasts not up to standard,
Review 89:Location is excellent Sea facing and within a short walk of everything. We were lucky and got free parking outside the front door but in peak season parking could be difficult, Family run and staff all very helpfull
Review 90:Great location. Beautiful view. Parlor with nice view for cocktails or breakfast. Friendly staff. Very helpful. Would definitely stay here again. Portovenere is beautiful. Nice day trip distance to Cinque Terre also.
Review 91:The walls in this hotel are paper thin and you can hear everything (and I mean everything!) from other rooms. Very noisy and difficult to get a good nights rest.
Review 92:Their WiFi policy, 3 euro for 30 minutes.
Review 93:The view from our balcony was absolutely breathtaking. The view from thebreakfast room was also very good. The location is excellent.
Review 94:The Hotel Belvedere was just perfect. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room clean and comfortable and the view outstanding. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Portovenere and the Belvedere.
Review 95:Not cheap, but pricing is appropriate for Portovenere area.
Review 96:Stunning views! You'll have breakfast overlooking the Portovenere and La Spezia bay. Rooms are small but very efficiently and tastefully decorated. Clean and well maintained. Excellent breakfast. Staff is fluent in English. Parking permit for parking in street available at €10,-. Portovenere center is at 5 min walking distance. Nice lounge.
Review 97:There isn't really anything we didn't like. Those who arrive by car should however be aware that it is quite difficult to find a parking space in the vicinity of the hotel during the summer period and that they might need to park on the outskirts of the town and take the "girobus" . It would be helpful if information about the parking and girobus (both paying) were added to the description of the hotel.
Review 98:The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The hotel has a lovely character (bit of an old feel in a nice way!). The dining room with terrace overlooking the seafront, and lounge were spacious and airy. Our room (seafront with small balcony) was clean and comfortable. The location is excellent. Very close to the port and the old centre, but quiet.
Review 99:Loved, Loved, Loved everything about this hotel. Staff, above and beyond gracious and helpful. Sweet and charming through out. Breakfast wonderful, views awesome great restaurants close by and ferry to Cinque-Terre,
Review 100:Rooms were a bit small for family but we were out most of the day exploring
Review 101:It was close to amenities and trips to Cinque Terre. Ocean view bedroom a plus
Review 102:A wonderful place to stay! The view was beautiful, the staff helpful andeverything was close by. Couldn't ask to stay in a better place. Ourkids loved it as well.
Review 103:Very central, close to all the sights in Portovenere. Nice view over the bay, good breakfast, helpful staff. There is NO parking in Portovenere that is easy to find but we arrived at the hotel and the staff quickly organized parking for us in the street below the hotel.
Review 104:No tea or coffee making facilities in bedroom.
Review 105:Great view. Good breakfast. Very helpful reception. Great location for access to bus, restaurants and the ocean.
Review 106:The room had a gorgeous view, but was a bit shabby, and actually very cold with no heating and not enough warm bedding. Not an enjoyable place to be stuck due to the torrential rain outside. The worst things were the stained bed-sheets and the constant noise from the room next door that kept waking us up all through the night - partly due to a horrendously noisy family and partly due to poor noise insulation. However when we decided to leave early as a result of the noise, the staff were very courteous and understanding.
Review 107:The staff at the hotel were really great, and the views out over the water were truly lovely. Location is perfect, just a very short walk to the old town and ferries. Great breakfast too; in better weather dining on the terrace would be fantastic.
Review 108:No one to help us with our luggage. Parking was difficult. Noisy inside and out..
Review 109:Location View. Staff was very nice. Gentleman was helpful and friendly.
Review 110:Not having longer there!
Review 111:The location was great. You could spend a day travelling to cinque terrevillages and return to portovenere away from the hustle and bustle.Beautiful position!
Review 112:Small rooms, outdated bathroom, insufficient parking
Review 113:Location, location, location
Review 114:Parking non existent!
Review 115:Location was right on the sea and view from rooms great.
Review 116:No parking and over-priced
Review 117:Superb location overlooking the water
Review 118:N/A
Review 119:Staff were extremely helpful and the view was fantastic.
Review 120:Problem with the AC
Review 121:Amazing staff. Terrace to use for everyone. Even bring your own wine and food.
Review 122:Nothing! Great spot!
Review 123:For four people we had a two room suite. One room looked over the water, it was lovely and comfortable.
