Review 1：I did not think 4 stars were reflected by the overall impression , the room and bathroom and also swimming pool are a bit old now. But we were very happy because the hotel staff was very friendly and they accepted the animals.

Review 3：The "mountain-view" room we had should be called the "parking lot-view" room. Considering the price of €115 the room was too small and the furniture too outdated (in a bad way). The enclosed bathroom had a very loud vent.

Review 8：This was truly fabulous. We spent 4 wonderful days there and constantly thought about returning for a longer stay. When I planned our trip I had a hard time deciding between Lago Maggiore or Lago Orta, between staying in Orta S. Giulio or outside of it. I opted for the latter because we wanted direct access to the water. And indeed, having looked at the other options in the area I am convinced we had the best hotel for what we wanted. Other hotels on the shore have very small unpleasant beaches, or none, as in the case of those in town. At Approdo we walked out in our bathing suits and swam in a stunning setting surrounded by typical mountains+towns views of Italian lake resorts. The hotel has extensive beautiful grounds unlike the cramped outdoor space of others; not a lush flower garden, though, but quite varied, with lawn, a big pool and surrounding terrace, restaurant terrace, garden kiosk, all by the lake as well as tennis courts in the back. Our room was very spacious and bright and, being on the ground floor had a nice patio, and it felt the whole lawn was ours. The decor was very tasteful 70s which I like a lot but some might find old-fashioned. The restaurant has a lot of outdoor seating and great food and the breakfast (served in a different setting) was also extensive and good. The dinner that comes with the demi-pension does not have an antipasto buffet as our hotels in Aosta had. Must add that there are nice public areas, like a sitting room between the lobby and the garden, with comfy armchairs and a library. There were many families with kids and it was nice that they could eat their own food on the outdoor tables in the garden.

Review 9：internet not so good Hotel decor was a little worn needs a refresh got lots going for it. Maybe some entertainment for pool and evenings.

Review 12：Lovely hotel overlooking Lake Orta. We had a large comfortable room with balcony looking over the lake and swimming pool. Very comfortable seating areas when the weather is not so good. Friendly, efficient staff.

Review 16：We always stay at Hotel L'Approdo on our journey between England and Italy (and visa versa). The lake is beautiful, peaceful after a long day's drive, the room always comfortable and the restaurant serves very good meals. And on top of that, the staff are always helpful and efficient.

Review 17：Wanted a double bed. Only have single beds pushed together made as one. Uncomfortable as one of us would end up falling down crack between the two mattresses.

Review 46：We have stayed here on our way from England to Italy and back several times and love to arrive, get into our room and sit gazing at the lake, watching the ducks going about their business and the sun setting over the mountains. The restaurant is good and the staff always helpful. Very good breakfast buffet and plenty of parking (usually - there was a party on this time and it took a while to find a space).

The breakfasts were excellent and were served in a very spacious room looking over the pool. The location of the hotel on the lakes edge makes for excellent views.

Everything was just as before and we will stay there again, asit is conveniently located for our purposes.

Review 52：Small thing. It is definitely walkable to the town but there is only pavement for part of the way and we decided it was probably not safe to walk back on the side of the road in the evening. Not sure how easy a taxi would be to find so one of us had to play designated driver.

The restaurant was brilliant and great being able to get meals by the pool. Review 62：A stunning location beside Lake Orta. Our room had a balcony and wide full length windows so we could sit and watch the view inside or out. The food was marvellous and the service very attentive. We found the hotel very easily using satnav and there was ample parking out of season - not sure how it would be when the hotel was more occupied.

Review 63：The staff were not very friendly. The breakfast was of very poor quality and not much choice. I booked and paid for a room with a Lake View and had a huge tree in from of my window which did not allow me to see the Lake. A huge dissapointment.

Review 67：Everything was great! Firiendly staff, comfortable atmosphere, pleasantspatious rooms, a good private garden, beach and pool. Everything oneneeds to have a quiet rest from the noisy city life. We spent 3 days inl'approdo, then left for the seaide (as was planned), but after taking alook at the stuffy hotel, streets crowling with people and the sea withdead fish in it, we canceled our sea reservation and returned back tol'approdo. So much better there!

Review 68：Clearly room was used by smokers. The decor was nice in lounge but a complete mosh mash everywhere else which was dated in the rooms. Horrible taste and hotel generally looks tired and looks nothing like in booking.com pictures. Our ceiling had damp patches. Bathroom was way too small and my pregnant wife really struggled to get in and have a decent shower. Breakfast was a disaster I had to ask for everything as only the butter was on the buffet table. Coffee was late and waiters completely useless and clueless. Not a good experience and a waste of money mind you hotels in Italy are mostly poor and I've stayed in plenty to know this is true.

Review 70：It felt a bit impersonal. The largest number of any nationality were germans which meant that it did not have a particularly Itralian feel. Other than the scenery, it did not feel as though we were in Italy.
