Reviews for Masseria La Chiusa Delle More
Review 1:The staff was warm and welcoming. There wasn't a thing we'd change. The facility was beautiful and clean. The view of the village of Peschici was gorgeous. The meals were superb.
Review 2:The bed was quite hard. It was a shame the hotel hadn't made arrangements with any local beach clubs to arrange discounts/ free entry like other hotels we'd stayed at. For a hotel of this cost, I would also have expected at least some complimentary bottled water in the bedrooms.
Review 3:The owner was very friendly, the pool lovely and breakfast a real treat. The evening meals were a real show-stopper but be prepared for a very large amount of food, served late. Definitely worth it at least once. It's a comfortable place to stay, although neighbouring town not particularly nice. It's definitely one of the classiest places to stay in the area.
Review 4:An extermely well appointed property with stunning views and a very welcoming host. We had dinner cooked by the proprietor's wife which was outstanding. The whole experience was very relaxing and enjoyable.
Review 5:room was a little small for the cost, but the location, plunge pool, swimming pool and hospitality more than made up for it!
Review 6:Lovely location, tucked away from the hubbub in town in an olive grove. Beautiful views over the valley and out to sea from the terrace. Superb breakfast of homemade goods, cheeses, meats and fruit. Also very kindly accommodated my wife, who is gluten free and pescitarian. Fantastic meal (set menu), again accommodating my wife with ease!
Review 7:- Francesco is a wonderful host - Very clean - Professional staff - Nice little room with mini-private pool - great look from the nice terrace - great meal (not in price included!)
Review 8:Being a valued guest in this beautiful guesthouse with magnificent view and so close to the beach and many beautiful sites to visit. The dinners were optional, but we took them every time! Some of the best Italian cooking we ever had!
Review 9:Small thing: it was hard to find and my GPS had it in the wrong place. Totally worth the extra time it took finding it.
Review 10:The laid back setting, the wonderful meals, the view of the city and the wonderful hospitality made my three days here a relaxing yet stimulating experience. The shower even had lights to show when it was hot. In addition to the very helpful host, the guests were also friendly. At first I thought a three day minimum was too much but next time I come, I will stay even longer.
Review 11:I only wish there were a jacuzzi for everyone's use. But that's a small request.
Review 12:Wonderful! Francesco and his staff are attentive without being intrusive. The grounds are well-kept and peaceful with a beautiful view of Peschici. It is secluded but close enough to either walk or drive to beaches. We walked to Baia Jalillo one day and then drove to Vieste and rented a boat to go cove hopping the next. Magical! And Francesco has great recommendations. The breakfast is the best I've had here in Italy with a great combination of sweet and savory, all freshly made, and including fresh fruit. While dinner was a bit costly (35€ per person plus wine) it was well worth it: a set menu of 7 courses, all absolutely delicious. Our children are 15 & 12 and Francesco's wife prepared a 3 course meal for them for 15€ each. There was enough antipasti to share. In all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wish we could've stayed longer. Three nights wasn't enough!
Review 13:The hotelier looked after us really well. The food was excellent, dinner was a set menu but preferences were well accommodated. The first night we were brought a selection of 5 different vegetable based anti pasto, prepared by the hoteliers wife who was in the kitchen these were exceptional, this was followed by pasta, pork fillet with potatoes, melon ,a beautiful tiramisu followed by coffee for 30 euros a head. This was excellent value for such lovely food. There is agood selection of wines at reasonable prices. If I was to come to this area again I would stay at the same place again but this time for more than 2 nights.
Review 14:No wifi in bedroom. Dinner, although served well was somewhat pricey for what it was.
Review 15:Breakfast goods on the terrace. People that work there. Local wines at excellent prices. View from the terrace. Plants and trees.
Review 16:Nothing not to like.
Review 17:Beautiful masseria (old farm house) within ten minutes walk of Peschici's main beaches, set in old olive grove, good swimming pool and shady rest area, excellent restaurant - great local food, served on a verandah overlooking the valley and Peschici. Made to feel very welcome by Francesco and his wife, especially after we struggled to reach the masseria following a tortuous, traffic-filled day in Italy's tourist season.
Review 18:We found the accommodation itself very nice but also a bit overpriced. However the dinners alone are worth the "price of admission." What an experience. If you're a foodie you will love it here. Truly outstanding. Apart from this a very nice albeit pricy place to stay.
Review 19:Leaving
Review 20:The food and accomodations were exceptional. The service was incomprable; an absolute addition to your "bucket list." The owner, Francesco will see to your every need and his staff will ensure that your stay is plesant--graziemille Francesco.
Review 21:Everything, but chef Antonella's meal offerings, both breakfast and the multi-course dinners were outstanding. The dining patio is beautiful with lovely linens and serving plates, and the service staff is attentive and warm. Owner Francesco is congenial and helpful with information, and they have created a stunning oasis for travelers to experience the Gargano. The cascading bougainvillea, and beautiful pool area create such an elegant atmosphere. We spent three weeks in Italy--and had many wonderful meals, but nothing compared to Antonella's cooking.
Review 22:Can't think of anything bad really!
Review 23:We couldn't find the hotel using satnav so we gave them a call to ask for directions. They didn't give us directions - they actually came out and found us instead! Very warm, friendly hosting and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent; delicious breakfast on the terrace. Had dinner there both nights, some lovely food served. Location is lovely and pretty peaceful. Overlooks olive groves. Only a mile or so from the beach. The rooms are very clean. Furnishing is simple and comfortable. Bathroom immaculate. Only 30 min drive or so from forest umbra.
Review 24:Wonderful setting Excellent cuisine
Review 25:Room perfectly fine but not top notch.
Review 26:The food was superb. Fantastic location, views, ambience.
Review 27:The amazing food, lovely staff and a great location.
Review 28:The small bathroom.
Review 29:We liked the wonderful breakfast, the pool and the garden and the excellent dinners at the hotel. The friendliness of the staff.
Review 30:Food and staff were excellent
Review 31:Location and friendliness of the staff. Food was also amazing.
Review 32:Beautiful masseria with a pool and a 10 minute walk from the beach in Peschici. The restaurant is among the best we've ever eaten in - outstanding local cuisine.
Review 33:Nothing. It was all good.
Review 34:The owners, Francesco and Antonella, are two of the nicest most helpful people you could wish to meet. And Antonella also happens to be a superb chef!! Breakfast was excellent, lots of home baking. Decide in the morning if you want to dine at the Residence and enjoy an excellent meal and wine all very good value. If not, walk in Peschichi in 20 minutes or so and there are lots of restaurants to choose from. Lovely beach, good sea swimming and in September not crowded. Rooms are comfortable and clean, nothing fancy but everything you might need.
Review 35:the hotel is too expensive for what you get, the rooms are nice for parents with children but just very normal (beds equipment...), you cannot open the curtain and the window as just opposite there is another room with windows at the same level so you can great each other. The owner is quit gentle but he proposes a lot and is not always able to keep his promises. We wanted to go to the tremiti islands and he proposed a private trip. On the first day there where not enough guests, on the second day the sea was too rough to go, he always told us after the departure of the public boat so whats left: paroli paroli paroli
Review 36:very good breakfast
Review 37:This is a fantastic hotel. Francesco made us feel very welcome and provided us with a great overview of places to go around Peschici. The breakfasts and dinners provided by Antonella were out of this world. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. It was a genuinely delightful experience.
Review 38:ABsolutely not a thing.....
Review 39:Property is beautiful, the breakfast served outside on a lovely terrace with superb views of the olive trees and Peschici. Francesco is a wonderful host, his wife ANTONELLA is a chef extraordinary- her meals were the highlights of our stay.
Review 40:A great place to use as home base while exploring the Gargagnopromontory. Close to beaches, a national forest park and other keydestination. Be prepared, however, for mountain roads with many twistsand turns. The best thing about La Chiusa is just staying there. Therooms are clean and comfortable. The grounds and pool area are wellmaintained. Be prepared to eat very well while there. Breakfast are verygood but the dinner meals are especially good. The menu is fixed eachevening and alternates daily between fish and meat with typical Italianmulti courses.bBoating
Review 41:The price of the room (in early june) is on the high end, after all itis not a suite. But the price for the dinner offers compensation.
Review 42:La Masseria is really very beautiful. Once you have passed the gate yousee and feel that this place is very well maintained. The highlight isthe cooking. Do not miss the opportunity to have the best of yourdinners on your trip. And breakfast is equally delightful.
Review 43:Finding the place! One needs more specific directions to the masseriafrom the main road. It was impossible to see the little sign indicatingthe road. Even when it was later pointed out to us, it was stilldifficult to see and understand the direction one should drive. (Weneeded to call the owner, from another hotel, to come and pick us up!Even our gps didn't help.) a very specific map, with distances, wouldbe helpful.
Review 44:The setting and design of the Masseria. The excellent dinner offerings(at an additional price). The breakfasts - more extensive than most ofthe Italian offerings. Dining on the porch overlooking the pool and theolive groves.
Review 45:Masseria is set in the rolling hills outside of the bustling resort ofPeschici. This means that your stay here in the middle of this beautifulolive grove will be peaceful, relaxing and away from the raucous resorthotels and campsites. The gardens and pool overlook the countryside andhills of the peninsula. Our hosts Francesco and Antonella, were extremely welcoming and kind. Their careful suggestions about what to see, where the best beaches are and what to visit, were much appreciated. But leaving the best until last, is the delicious food. Lovingly prepared by Signora Antonella using ingredients fresh from the garden, our breakfasts were a simply wonderful combinations of fresh produce and delicious homemade cakes and pastries. Dinners were a triumph of taste and a true representation of the best Puglia can offer, again using freshest ingredients from the garden and alternating between the land and the sea daily. We were so sad to leave and truly wished we had booked for 10 days rather that 7!
Review 46:Everything was good, nothing to dislike.
Review 47:Everything - Small family run hotel with excellent food, service and facilities.
Review 48:Rather expensive compared to equivalent agriturismos in other regions
Review 49:Breakfast and dinner outstanding
