Reviews for Albergo Roma

Review 1:The owners are lovely and all the staff are extremely friendly. the Hotel is a bit old but well maintained. the swimming pool has a decent size and the location is great for day trips to Florence or even to the beach. it was a real nicely stay and we will definitely be back.

Review 2:The Spa {renovated} was advertised as the main attraction and was shut! not much else to do in this town for a one night visit. The restaurants were slow to create any atmosphere, perhaps the season had not started?

Review 3:The pool, setting and facilities suited us very well

Review 4:The air conditioning wasn't turned on so early in the season, but we would have appreciated it. The staff did provide a floor fan when we asked about it.

Review 5:A comfortable and traditional hotel serving authentic dishes. The staff were really welcoming and the prices were extremely reasonable.

Review 6:Nothing !

Review 7:Everything was wonderful about this place . Apart from the comfort and attractiveness of the building and its setting the hostess/owner made us feel so welcomed . She spoke excellent English and spent a lot of time checking that we were well catered for . The food was good too . This is how a place should be run . Thank you !

Review 8:Casciana Terme is a small spa town and the hotel appears to attract a more 'mature' visitor. When we were there the town was very quiet but we managed to find a very yummy pizzeria for a late dinner and it wasn't a big problem for us.

Review 9:The staff are very friendly and helpful. Very clean rooms of good size, in a functional italian style. The hotel is in a good location for Pisa, ca. 40 minutes drive from the airport with good off-road parking.

Review 10:The room was too cold in the evening despite using the extra blankets provided.

Review 11:The high score this hotel receives is fully justified and is noticeable through the attention to detail at this family run hotel. Friendly service from the owners who were helpful in providing information on our next destination as well as providing a discount voucher to the nearby spa. The room was spacious and comfortable. The quality was in the well maintained room and details such as having plenty of good quality towels and the fridge. We were delighted to be able to use the pool even though it was late September. Breakfast was plentiful and the home-made jam and cakes were delicious.

Review 12:The staff could not do enough for you- nothing was too much trouble. Lovely little hotel with great home made cakes and jam for breakfast. Great pool.

Review 13:We were headed down to Rome and decided at the last minute to stay south of Pisa. Hotel is in a wonderful town in the Tuscany region. Low key area, wonderful main square. Had dinner in a small restaurant one block over from the square. Best meal we ever had. Owners of the hotel were wonderful.

Review 14:I spend couple of days in this hotel this summer, with my wife and our 16 years old son. I recomend Albergo Roma for all those, who are looking for quite hotel in a quite city, and rather for those, travelling with own car, if you want to visit e.g. Pisa, Lucca and other main touristic points in Tuscany. Casciana Terme is not one of them, but it's also nice city. You will meet there rather only local people and Italian guests, mainly visting local Terme, but thanks to this, you will feel there atmospehere of real Italy. Same is also with the Albergo Roma hotel. Building is old and furniture in all public areas (lobby, corridors) is really oldfashioned, but therefore you can feel its uniqe atmosphere. Hotel is really very, very clean. We had large triple room, which was equiped with new furniture - not so oldfashioned already, as this, which was outside of it. Bathroom was large and clean. Beside of really good room, private free parking, nice small pool, biggest advantage of Albergo Roma hotel, is nice and very, very helpful lady, who works at the reception and speaks English very well. (Giovanna, once again, thank you very much for your hospitality and help. Regards, Marek and family.)

Review 15:Putting on weight

Review 16:Good dining facilities Great Breakfast Beautiful swimming pool Great location in small village Good local cafes, superette, local laundry facility.

Review 17:The air conditioning is quite old and needs updating as it's not quite functional enough but this is the only negative

Review 18:The pool - pretty, and visible from the hotel where you can sit ur the vines and drink your tea, play chess, read a book and watch the family splashing. The staff - so very kind and helpful, with good English The food - not a lot of choice but what they do present you with is beautiful and even the kids ate everything. Their own wine/melons/tomatoes too! The charm of the hotel and fabulous bedroom - high ceilings, large windows. it was like staying in an old Scottish stately home but with charm and Sunny weather. Really couldn't fault the Alberga Roma we will definitely stay here again.

Review 19:Very friendly hotel staff very welcoming pool and garden area perfect for relaxing rooms spotlessly clean beautiful old building very carefully looked after

Review 20:The transport to the nearest station by bus takes 40 minutes, so one really needs to plan trips out of CT well. If you miss the buses, you either wait another 1 hr or more or take cabs back to the hotel which is very expensive.

Review 21:Giovanna was very very helpful, responsive and warm! It made our stay experience all the better. The room size was large and well laid out. The location is beautiful and quite. Casciana Terme is great if one is looking for a quite retreat and not wanting to head out to city often. Or one needs to plan the outings well and catch the buses to and fro.

Review 22:Friendly staff and big and nice rooms

Review 23:Very Friendly Staff. Room with lots of space and comfortable bed. Free Wifi. Secure parking. Good breakfast selection.

Review 24:Very nice and helpfull People working at the hotel. Lovely traditional Tuscan Food.

Review 25:very friendly. excellent food and facilities. central location. excellent value. second visit and would keep going back.

Review 26:hotel staff very helpful and friendly

Review 27:Very comfortable and reasonably priced with secure parking and a very friendly staff. Nice large rooms. Good breakfast.

Review 28:The location, the people and so easy to relax.

Review 29:Nothing

Review 30:Giovanna - the owner. Location. Breakfast. Personal attention. Pool. Really enjoyed our stay at this super friendly and traditional hotel.

Review 31:Giovanna - the host was brilliant so accommodating and couldn't do enough for her guests

Review 32:This is a wonderful hotel for peace and quiet The staff are great especially Giovanna, who really is at the heart of the hotel She works very hard to make sure your stay is enjoyable Lunch in the garden is heavenly Beautiful food, lovely flavours

Review 33:Everything was excellent, but the best was the attention. The lady at reception was extremely nice and attentive, and very helpful. Excellent place to stay.

Review 34:We had a good wholesome dinner, but perhaps the dining room was a bit cavernous and light. Maybe some more subdued lighting might make the room seem more welcoming, especially in the evening.

Review 35:On this occasion we were infact travelling with 88 year old mother, who is blind, and the hotel very considerately put us in ground floor rooms, so that there were no steps at all for her to negotiate. Good parking area at rear of hotel. Owner of hotel was exceptionally helpful and friendly.

Review 36:The only thing to point out in the Hotel is the breakfast. Short-time of breakfast 7:30 til only 9:30Am (for us was early because its suppose to the person be in a relaxed environment and not having to wake up at 8 or 9 to run into the breakfast). Breakfast itself was quite poor (only sweet stuff like jams). some bread and croissants, and 2 kinds of ham and one kind of cheese) Some yogurts and basically thats it....I hope the Hotel takes this information as constructive critic to improve their breakfast...

Review 37:The staff, especially the owners were very very friendly and helped us in everything: from discount vouchers in the Thermes to pointing out what other things to do in town!. Fantastic pool with a very relaxing environment, perfect for a chill-out weekend! Rooms are spacious with high ceilings. bathroom has all commodities although pressure of the shower not so high (depends on tastes).

Review 38:nothing at all.

Review 39:Family run hotel. Very friendly. Great facilities and well located for touring Tuscany. Super value. Lovely town. Private car parking.

Review 40:the mattress was a little hard but i still slept fine.

Review 41:giovanna was so helpful and a wonderful host. really nice family run hotel. great value for a wonderful weekend stay with a lovely swimming pool and very pretty garden. wonderful location in casciana terme, cute town with other towns nearby that have wineries. beautiful tuscany setting! air conditioned rooms were helpful in the hot summer!

Review 42:Could not think of anything !

Review 43:Everything ! An ideal hotel for a Tuscan break. The hotel, the facilities, the people, the location, the village and the restaurants were just perfect. Highly recommended.

Review 44:Absolutely fantastic. Friendly owners and staff treated us like part of the family. Great big rooms cleaned daily. Fresh cakes for breakfast and home made wine. What more could you want. I would recommend the hotel and the area to anybody.

Review 45:The hotel is located in a very peacful setting with friendly residents. The hostess, Joanna, went out of her way to make sure that we were all comfortable and there was honestly no request which was too much for her. She remembered everyones names and spoke to us like we were old friends and although I only stayed 3 nights it was very emotional leaving, thats how welcome she made me feel and I cannot wait to go back!

Review 46:We were staying here as a group of young 20somryhings, before we got married. We literally took over the hotel, and Joanna could not have been more helpful or accommodating! Although it wasn't a luxurious 5 star hotel, it was a lovely hotel with everything you could need.

Review 47:We had a great 6 night stay at Albergo Roma. Located in a quiet small town it is an excellent location to explore northern Tuscany by car. Close to some of the best medieval hilltop towns. Staff are super friendly and the pool is perfect for catching some of the Tuscany sun. Parking is on site and gated after hours. Overall very relaxing atmosphere.

Review 48:On arrival we were welcomed as friends. Nothing was too much trouble and Giovanna is a perfect hostess. The bedroom was clean and comfortable as was the entire hotel and grounds. Everywhere is neat and tidy and the owners and staff have great pride in their hotel. The hotel has been in the family for 101 years we understand. Wine and fruit jams and other food are home grown and home made. We normally prefer eating out and exploring new places however the food we ate at the hotel was superb and service excellent. I can't fault anything (so rare). Much better than many 3 and 4 star hotels. It is not a pretentious place to stay but ticked all the boxes for us. Great location, pretty town and good base for exploring the area. We had a wonderful stay and will certainly be returning.

Review 49:This beautiful 18th Century hotel in rural Tuscany was just perfect forour needs, as we wanted to be within fairly close proximity of theTeatro De Silencio for the Andrea Bocelli concert 2012. Giovanna,Bellarmino, Claudia and staff were absolutely lovely, so helpful andalways very attentive. They arranged our taxi to and from Pisa Airportand transport to the concert and provided us with sandwiches, fruit anda bottle of Bellarmino's own wine to take with us! Nothing was too muchtrouble for them. The Hotel was very clean and the pool was an addedluxury, as it was very hot in the Tuscan Mountains. The town ofCasciana Terme itself is very small and quiet, with only a fewdelightful restaurants and bars, so if you are staying longer than afew days, it might be best to hire a car so that you can visit theother nearby towns in the Pisan Hills. We were disappointed to findthat the Casciana Terme Spa was closed, although you could still go fortreatments if you wished. This was directly opposite the hotel. It wasjust perfect for our relaxing few days though. We would definitelyreturn for another trip.

Review 50:We didn't like the fact that you had to order from the menu well in advance so we only had one dinner in the hotel

Review 51:This was a beautiful hotel in beautiful surroundings with peace and tranquility , a lovely pool to cool down and relax. Family run friendly and helpful .

Review 52:Excellent, beautiful hotel. Gorgeous gardens and pool. Very friendly staff.

Review 53:Nothing to dislike

Review 55:Friendly,efficient staff. Excellent garden and pool.

Review 56:We had a really relaxing time in this family owned hotel. It is the hotels maxime that the visitors feel comfortable and they did their job well!

Review 57:Service, atmosphere, food, pet friendly

Review 58:The owners of the Albergo Roma are exceptionally friendly and welcoming.
