Reviews for Hotel Dream

Review 1:Very poor breakfast for 4* (except the fruit part) is served in a small room without windows. On weekends loud musik from the restaurant - we could hear it till 0.30am. Carpets in the hotel are not really clean any more..

Review 2:Location. Hotel is providing baby cot for free. Stylish interior. Fresh orange juice for breakfast. Free parking is a very nice benefit!

Review 3:Parking was weird - had to give out key to the front desk upon parking, so chose to just Street park. Room was very warm; no way to crack a window. Expensive breakfast.

Review 4:Located just down the road from the Belfry and Grand Place, Dream is a quirky hotel set inside a former church. Spacious room, very clean, great facilities, helpful staff. Our room had an amazing view! I would definitely recommend.

Review 5:It would have been nice if it had been mentioned that disabled persons can enter the hotel via the parking. This would heve made my access to the hotel a lot easier

Review 6:The best room for disabled persons that I have encounterd untill now. Very friendly staff

Review 7:This hotel is a renovated church although the original walls have been too well hidden which makes it feel an ordinary hotel breakfast was not well organized and quality of bread (not fresh) and fruit (not fresh enough) was insufficient

Review 8:Rooms were spacious and clean

Review 9:Quality of the bed was not equivalent to a fourstarhotel. The room was different from what we saw on the internet. Windows could not open. Mo view.

Review 10:Douche

Review 11:We left behind in the room a piece of medical equipment. We telephoned to ask if it had been found and if we could pick it up on our return journey. The reception staff said it had not been brought to them and showed no interest in making inquiries on our behalf. As far as they were concerned if it had not been brought to them it did not exist! We assume the chambermaid had simply thrown it away!

Review 12:Very comfortable hotel in a central location and with on-site parking. The way they have adapted an older building is quite remarkable. Very good buffet breakfast with option of freshly cooked omelettes.

Review 13:If the full price as mentioned on Booking.com is correct, then it would be too high in my opinion. Parking is free, but the parking arrangements are strange. Allow extra time when you leave, in case other cars have to be moved to let you out. Getting from the parking to reception involves walking through the dining room, which is quite tightly packed with tables. So can be awkward if you arrive with luggage during dinner time.

Review 14:I got a great deal on a comfortable room, in a quiet location near the town centre.

Review 15:Excellent cafe, and only a few hundred metres from the Grand Place. Easy and secure parking. Excellent wifi, friendly staff, and new facilities. Beautiful remnants of the church structure it was built from.

Review 16:There was no english menu avaulable at the restaurant either in the room.

Review 17:reception was very helpful, fullfilled my requests such as iron board and earlier check in.

Review 18:Window in the room couldn't be opened for some fresh air, the guy of the parking was arrogant in instructing me how to park my car, as if I wasn't able enough, the staff at the restaurant and at the reception were 'just doing their job'. On Mondays there is NOTHING to see or do in Mons. All musea, exhibitions, monuments, are closed. That day is just a dull boring day, and better to avoid.

Review 19:Nice location, nice little town, the expo at BAM about Verlaine and Rimbaud was very good. Bed, matrass, bathroom, everything comfortable and clean.

Review 20:Nothing to complain about. Very nice stay.

Review 21:Quiet. Close to the town centre. Staff personnel were very nice and extremely helpful. Interesting to stay in a repurposed church but the transition is tasteful. Had a beautiful stained glass window at the foot of the bed. Free parking is always appreciated. Solid Wi-fi.

Review 22:not enough clear info on how the parking of cars was carried out.

Review 23:Very different décor. Liked the room numbers woven into the carpet. But some of it not to my liking.

Review 24:Vey good location a short walk to centre of town. Good overall cleanliness but room starting to look a little shabby this year, needs wall painted. Nice touch of water and 2 chocolates in room on first night. Not to be repeated on 2nd or 3rd though. Also nice to have coffee facilities in room but only enough for one small cup each. A handful would have made all the difference.

Review 25:The road in front has some construction it made it difficult to get in and out of the hotel occasionally.

Review 26:Very friendly staff, the room was very quiet and large. It has a very nice ambiance throughout the hotel. Breakfast was very good with lots of selection. Wifi was strong.

Review 27:Room was too hot, no possibility of opening a window and no AC; extra breakfast charged by mistake at checkout did not give final positive impression

Review 28:Spacious and quiet room, clean, playful decoration, special "church" atmosphere

Review 29:No soap in the dispenser in the shower, but I'm sure this was a simple oversight on behalf of the cleaner. If we had stayed a second night it would certainly have been sorted.

Review 30:Amazing value. Ultra modern interior to an ancient building. Fabulous, huge church window in our room, very high ceilings. Excellent sound proofing. We'll certainly stay again. Location was very good - 5 minutes walk from the Grand'Place. Free private parking available too.

Review 31:The hotel is in an old church, but inside the hotel you hardly notice that. The first room we had, had 2 Velux windows that looked out on a wall and parking. The 2nd room only had 2 Velux windows high up in the ceiling, so no view at all. Breakfast room was too small for the amount of guests.

Review 32:Good location. Very near to the city centre.

Review 33:Uniqueness of the hotel. The hotel is a former church and they have retained some of the features such as stained glass window. They also off unique rooms, ours was the Eddy Merckx room.

Review 34:Difficult to find, especially with the one way road outside being closed and no obvious way of entering the car park unless you go down one way road wrong way. An email notification of the road closure would have been grateful appreciated. Reception staff were a little lacking for a hotel of this type.

Review 35:Loved the rooms, the hotel, restaurant, bar.

Review 36:The rooms are good but don't expect great design. It is a bit cheap qua look and feel and interior design...for example use of cow-motive and leather-look... Also you ùight think that you ordere a great room with a church-window but chances are more likeley you get an ordinary room without the great design feature of the church interior or window.

Review 37:As stated in some reviews, you leave your car keys at the hotel reception so they can double and triple park as there is not much space. NOT a problem for us as we only wanted to leave at about 10:30am. We were travelling with my 95 year old mother (hotel was advised) and her room was around a corner and through a fire door away. NOT helpful.

Review 38:Good location - walk into the centre - with free car parking. Interesting modern decor in a converted chapel/church. Breakfast buffet OK.

Review 39:Little buzzing sound in the room and the lack of fresh air in the room. Only through AC as the windows are fixed.

Review 40:Perfect location and the stuff over all very friendly and helpful.

Review 41:The four of us were not over keen on Mons itself as it seemed to be shut with little going on even on the Monday

Review 42:The rooms were amazing and the food was excellent both at dinner and breakfast.

Review 43:Had a bit of debacle with the spa bath but entirely my fault ! The only niggle was the pillows, which were small, square and foam... With better quality pillows, this would have been perfect..

Review 44:What a fantastic surprise, to find such a superb hotel. The location for the old town of Mons is excellent - just a 5 minute stroll to the main square.. Parking is secure and the welcome was great. I had booked a suite but had been upgraded to the 'royal suite'- which was excellent.. Some 'boutique' hotels are actually the opposite, but Dream has it about right, nice funky decor without being too self conscious . My suite had great quality decor, furnishing and fittings in a stunning setting.. I really wish we'd been able to stay an additional night to enjoy the full facilities...This would have been great value at double the price.. and this puts most other hotels to shame

Review 45:Very small room and with no personality (the ones on display on the website were much better, bad luck maybe), lack of parking spaces in the parking and all organisation around it (leave your key so car is moved). Entering from the parking and walking through the dining area to reach reception, didn't dine there but if I had to, I would have found that anoying all the people going by dragging their suitcases

Review 46:Idea of a hotel in a Church, nice bathroom, spa available

Review 47:We really enjoyed everything. We arrived earlier than checkin hour and the stuff did their best and we were given our keys. The breakfast was really good. The restaraunt on the ground floor was good (we liked our steaks)

Review 48:Nothing really, but car parking is tight and double parked so you need to leave your keys at reception. We had to wait 15 minutes while a 'non-guests' car was moved so we could leave.

Review 49:Modern 'boutique' Hotel in an old church but very well converted. Helpfull staff, great cocktail bar and gourmet restaurant (book it if you want to eat there – it fills fast). Near to the old town centre. Large, modern, comfortable room with aircon.

Review 50:I was disappointed that we did not get a room that showed off some feature of the old church, Oh well.

Review 51:I liked the restaurant very much. Excellent food and really nice staff

Review 52:The town itself wasn't really great ideal for a coffee and something to eat with a lovely town square but leaving that there is nothing else to do or shops to look in

Review 53:As Belgian, the free wi-fi quality was very poor compared to 4G connection

Review 54:Very unique style as it is a former church that has been converted to an hotel.

Review 55:The location close to the city centre but not at all noisy is excellent. The design and decor of the hotel room has a "wow" factor, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Review 56:The Sunday breakfast experience was awful. Too few staff to provide the service required for such large numbers of diners. We ended up having just a roll and cold coffee and waited ages for those!

Review 57:The location was excellent but guests should be advised to set any sat navigation device to find Rue de Soeurs Noirs and to then to turn first left into Rue de la Grande Triperie. So that you are at the correct point in a tricky one way system The hotel is then on the right just a few meters along.

Review 58:Could not get to the fourth floor in the lift. Unable to get wifi in the bedroom

Review 59:coffee / tea facilities in the room. efficient hotel reception staff

Review 60:I detest carpets (moquette) in hotels. Fortunately, this one was new and clean.

Review 61:Great concept: hotel in a dismissed church. Everything brand new and clean.

Review 62:Nothing, it was all great.

Review 63:Quirky room in a splendid building. Great location with an easy walk to everything. Lovely staff. A very comfortable, pleasant stay. I'd definitely stay here again without any hesitation. I didn't try the restaurant or breakfast so I can't comment on that.

Review 64:The only route from the hotel car park to the reception is through its very popular restaurant, which feels very disconcerting.. Having traveled through downpours by motorcycle, meant I did the walk of shame for the entertainment of the diners, leaving a trail of water for the waiters to slip on. The popularity of the hotel and restaurant means they have to employ a valet to juggle the cars around, so do not expect to to exit the car park quickly

Review 65:Lovely, helpful staff. Room upgrade to carnival room with fantastic. unique decor in a truly unique hotel. Highly recommended: Treat yourself to a stay here. They also allow dogs

Review 66:Only very minor things - breakfast was a bit chaotic and parking was a bit unusual, but at least there was parking and it was free!

Review 67:Taste of Belgium themed room was excellent in every way. Beautiful decor, old church windows, very comfortable bed, spotlessly clean, no noise could be heard from the rest of the hotel. Location was superb - three minutes walk into the centre.

Review 68:Bar staff very chatty, unfortunately to each other and service a little slow. Always polite though.

Review 69:Super location. 5 min walk to main square. Nicely decorated

Review 70:Hotel Dream is situated in an excellent location within a short walking distance from the main square. The hotel is a converted church with creatively designed rooms each floor with a different theme. The staff are very friendly and helpful. My 4 teenagers and myself enjoyed using their sauna facilities and the breakfast buffet was delicious with a large selection . Many thanks.

Review 71:It is not clear what the hotel is trying to be. The rooms were comfortable but strange decor. It felt like it was trying to be a niche hotel, a mainstream hotel, a quality hotel , a young person place, upmarket, middle stream. As you can see it basically gave a confused impression .

Review 72:Location was good and central. Staff were really trying to help generally

Review 73:Loud music from the restaurant until 2:30am, resulting in a very poor night's sleep. Broken reading light not fixed over 2 days. Windows don't open. Not a warm or inviting atmosphere.

Review 74:Hotel is located a short walk to restaurants and the Grand Place. Free parking (although complicated to retrieve your car).

Review 75:The hotel is advertised as 4-stars, but that's very far off as some toiletries, as well as slippers and bathrobes were missing. No wardrobe exists in the rooms, and you can only get some hangers behind a curtain. Beds, pillows and breakfast were acceptable but again, not what you would expect for a 4-starts hotel.

Review 76:The location is good and very close to the city center, restaurants and shops. Rooms and bathrooms are big.

Review 77:I did not receive the code for entrance at night. Staff had forgotten.

Review 78:The parking is at the hotel. You leave your key at the desk & staff takes care of (moving of) car, if necessary. Most of the staff members are very helpful, friendly.

Review 79:Lack of parking space meant our car had to be shuffled and our keys left with reception while we were in the hotel. Not a major problem but not ideal. The blinds in our room didn't work and one of the windows was stuck closed.

Review 80:The staff were very helpful. The food in the Brasserie was excellent.

Review 81:The design was excellent, parking is tight and access to the hotel from the car park is a bit awkward as you have to walk through the dining room - odd but not too bad,

Review 82:Great useof a building quirky mix of style & arty, very much to my taste. used nearly 20 hotels in the last 4 weeks & this was by far the best (& 2nd most expensive) breakfast. Resyaurant food reasonably good & at reasonable price.

Review 83:The overly modern bedroom decor was not to my taste, but others might like it. Car parking a bit fretful but it worked having warned them when I would need access to car.

Review 84:Courteous staff, excellent dinner, decent bar.

Review 85:Could not have breakfast on last morning as hotel could not cope with a large party and other guests. No room to sit down so no breakfast. Not impressed.

Review 86:The quirky style of the rooms

Review 87:The hotel is a little quirky - black carpets in the hall and the rooms on the 4th floor have only rood lights - but nothing that detracts overall from the good points about the hotel.

Review 88:The location of the hotel is very good; the staff are friendly and attentive.

Review 89:Layout of hotel somewhat strange - having to walk through brasserie and restaurant to get to the breakfast room. Also, lack of proper storage space (drawers etc) in bedroom; could not open windows for ventilation

Review 90:Staff were always cheerful and friendly

Review 91:The breakfast could be routed better. Sup par food quality and especially a coffee machine with not so nice coffee. A contradiction with the otherwise good kitchen.

Review 92:The location - Personell -Ambiance It was a very nice stay and the nice extra is the good restaurant, where a lot of locals seem to dine. A good sign. We stayed two nights and after a nice meal the first night were pleasantly surprised the restaurant was able and willing to have 17 persons of our travel company for a nice dinner in a semi separate room. Superior valet parking service and for free in the middle of a city centre.

Review 93:The parking, it was overcrowded. We had a little argument over where I should park my car at the time I checked in.

Review 94:The ambiance. I loved my room. it had stairs inside the room. It was a good size room. I wish I was not working. I would have enjoyed the city better. I checked in on Monday and hotels restaurant was packed with people pass 10 pm.

Review 95:Wifi didn't work in my room (117) also bad cell reception. My collegues didn't have the same problem though, theirs worked fine

Review 96:Location, nice decor & great food

Review 97:Car park is too small and cars double/ triple park, resulting in a lot of wasted time trying to locate the owners. Some sort of car registration scheme required.

Review 98:Too much: too much design, too much quasi-creativity. On the other hand the waiters are reluctant, on the weekend don't try the breakfast after 10 (Iwas almost sent away). In the room you c an not open the window - not for claustrophobics. The price is extremely high!

Review 99:elegant. Almost perfectly comfortable. For visiting the European CulturL Capital, Mons - it is OK, but overvalued.

Review 100:Parking arrangements. Good to have on site parking; but having to rely on having car moved because of cramped space was inconvenient. It took us 30 minutes to be able to leave, on departure.

Review 101:Excellent location

Review 102:Airco did not work. Windows could not be opened. After we had complained and wanted to Check out we were given one new room. Both rooms had only windows on the roof. Managed to open these windows with some help. It was dissapointing that we were not told before that the airco did mit work and that none of the windows could be opened.

Review 103:Nice location, rooms were smart and well maintenained. The design is modern, however does not realy reflects that this is a former church.

Review 104:Another car in hotel parking blocked my car and I had to wait over 40 minutes in order someone to move the car and unblock my way. And after all this, the staff did not even apologize.

Review 105:Clean and comfortable room.

Review 106:No problems at all.

Review 107:A lovely modern hotel within easy walking distance of the attractions of Mons. Fabulous restaurant. Although modern, the hotel is within an old chapel, so many if the columns and windows are part of the new décor. So very reasonable in price. Fantastic shower too.

Review 108:Parking is there but they triple park and you leave your key with reception for them toove around if needed. Ours was not moved as they seemed to put those staying on one side and restaurant guests on the other

Review 109:This hotel is fab! All rooms are unique and ours had cartoon characters which was weird but wonderful! Once we opened the cartoon inspired curtains we had the most fantastic view through a beautiful gothic window! The restaurant was also really great! I would reserve a table though as it seemed really popular although we did arrive as lunchtime on a Sunday. Will easily stay again!

Review 110:We asked for a double room and were given a twin

Review 111:We got an excellent rate when we booked - half price! The hotel was all it promised in the way of design, comefort and atmosphere. restautant was excellent.

Review 112:The Wi-Fi connection was not so good, but worked.

Review 113:Excellent location. Very comfortable and clean. Great spa center. Helpful staff. Private parking was perfect, as it would otherwise have been difficult to park.

Review 114:The suite wasn't very spatious. Nicely decorated and well equiped but the size of a normal room.

Review 115:Nice monastery conversion, good decoration. Free parking.

Review 116:Walking distance to the Grote Markt, musea, restaurants and pubs. Free parking. A beautiful room en suite with a view on the Belfort. Comfortable bed.Very nice staff.

Review 117:Breakfast was very poor and very poor value for money. Not much literature about the hotel or Mons in the room. No description of, or menus in brasserie or restaurant, so one made a blind choice.

Review 118:My first dinner in the brasserie!

Review 119:Breakfast on the second day was very sparse - we came down form breakfast at 8am and there was hardley anything left and it was not being replaced.

Review 120:Everything

Review 121:From car park, the only way to reception goes through the restaurant and pulling luggages among the tables is strange. Parking only through valet and keys must be left with the staff. Expensive breakfast.

Review 122:Room themes are fun. Good renovation, good bathroom. Nice staff. Free parking. Good city location.

Review 123:One very small complaint is that the hotel sauna was not ready at 9am when my partner wanted to use it. However everything else was so perfect you could forgive them.

Review 124:Completely unique hotel, also very comfortable. Got given a free upgrade upon arrival to a deluxe room which literally took my breath away. Lovely bar and restaurant. Slept better here than in my own bed!

Review 125:The room was hot and although there was air-conditioning we didn't get the room down to a better temperature (in winter).

Review 126:Room, staff, location, breakfast buffet. The lady at the reception spoke remarkably good English. All staff was very friendly and helpful.

Review 127:Couldn't open a window at all in our room. And no air con. Dining room a bit of a corridor

Review 128:A quirky hotel, well designed in sympathy with the original monastic architecture. Good restaurant. Centrally placed for Mons and easy to get to Brussels and Bruges.

Review 129:No hooks to hang up bathrobes Would have preferred a sofa in the lounge

Review 130:What a stunning place We had the Expo 58 room absolutely stunning Loved the bathroom, the original church windows just wow

Review 131:Need to book restaurant in advance at the weekend. We couldn't get a table

Review 132:Great value for money. Rather chaotic but it's a new hotel so has some teething problems.

Review 133:Only fault would be the quality of the bathroom towels!

Review 134:First class service First class restaurant Excellent location Modern hotel Excellent value for money

Review 135:Parking, access, slippery shower, confusing light switches and air conditioning, average breakfast

Review 136:Decor, attention to detail, reception staff, room comfort, convenience to get to the Grand Place, bar and restaurant

Review 137:Parking spaces limited - so know that you need to leave car keys in the reception in case they need to move your car.

Review 138:Room was 'different' in decoration and for someone who travels a lot - a nice little change. Wi-Fi was OK for browsing - uploading (work) so-and-so. Nice location a short walk away from town.

Review 139:Reception looks like an afterthought in in the middle of the restaurant and one has to cross the dining room to reach the car-park (free). Evenings car-park was full with diners cars and had to leave the key to the car to a valet.

Review 140:Recently renovated rooms and corridor design is inspiring. Room was sizable, with drums for coffee tables and modern, comfortable arm-chairs. Friendly staff. Convenient location.
