Reviews for Alpenbad Hotel Hohenhaus

Review 1:I didn't like the fact that there was no parking space available and I had to walk from down the hill; that the whole hotel was smelling like grill in the evening and like omlette and pancake in the morning; that the food choice for dinner from Saturday was changed afterwards; that the view from my window was towards a wall; that even though I paid 125EUR per night, my bed was very tiny; the shower was leaking and couldn't be adjusted properly

Review 2:I liked the facilities, even though I didn't get to use them; I liked the food selection for dinner on Saturday night. In general the food was very good.

Review 3:- unpleasant behaviour of some of the restaurant staff ...

Review 4:- very kind welcome, large, clean and comfortable room, hotel taxi service to and from the ski lifts, quality (and also quantity ...) of the food in the restaurant (for dinners and breakfasts), wellness center

Review 5:Perfect sauna and bath area

Review 6:Swimming pool

Review 7:The sort distance from the Hintertux slopes, the food, the facilities

Review 8:The hotel is built in a steep slope. It might be a problem to go to the hotel by a car without 4x4 drive when it is a heavy snowfall (did not happen to us).

Review 9:Perfect location, cca 1 km from the lifts to the glacier. The hotel provides the shuttle to/from the lifts. Enough space for parking. Swimming pool and sauna available. Excelant meals.

Review 10:Clean and spacious rooms, outstanding views from the balcony, great cuisine and choice of wines, nice swimming-pool and saunas, well-organised playground for children, close proximity to the glacier station and hotel's own skibus that takes you there whenever you want to, extremely friendly and helpful personnel at the reception desk and lobby bar.

Review 11:Small shared balconies and the opportunity for neighbours to smoke outside your own (e.g. if window open), despite the rooms being non-smoking. Unpleasant if you choose not to smoke, or request a room which is non-smoking to then have people nearby smoke near to your open windows.

Review 12:Should Ban Smoking In The Bar Area! Rubbish Pillows

Review 13:What a great hotel. The location is good, about 10 minute walk to the gondola (Free courteous bus anyway) close to the apri ski bars. Food was great, huge offering at breakfast and a chef on hand to cook your bacon/eggs or omletes. There was a choice of three options for evening meal, all were very tasty. The rooms were large, comfortable and clean. The bar area and lounge were good as was the Spa area which was well maintained and was a great place to relax the tired legs. All the staff were very helpful, polite & professional, big thanks to Juna & Patrick who looked after us during our short stay. We will be back!

Review 14:You couldn't add water on the stones on oven in finish sauna!!! There is no stones!!! It is very pity for Russian and Finish people! Never more visit such kind of hotel.

Review 15:Very friendly personnel.

Review 16:Staff were wonderful! Hotel's shuttle service to the glacier was friendly and quick. Spa facilities were great, as were meals. Our family had a great stay!

Review 17:Very steep walk up to the hotel from the bus stop

Review 18:Service and facilities were great, also a great location for snow & mountain sports in the Hintertux area

Review 19:WIFI reception was not strong. Best reception was on my bedroom toilet. Each wireless extender on each floor needs upgrading to boost the signal to all bedrooms.

Review 20:Decent hotel swimming pool 10 metres rectangular so you can swim unlike some that are token gestures. Spa facilities are good too and a squash court was a surprise. The food was pretty good mostly buffet style. Sliced fruit course, choice of 2 soups, salad course, served main course and buffet deserts choice of 3 cakes 3 ice creams and various other cheeses

Review 21:Would be better to separate relaxing area from pool by door, because there is distracting children noise.

Review 22:There was very gourmet cuisine, amazing wellness and relaxing area and fantastic location in the Tux mountains. Staff was very kind, all hotel was very clean. We were satisfied and we will try to come back there.

Review 23:The only small inconvenience was the light in the room. There was onlyone unique switch for room entrance, bathroom and toilets. So in orderto use the bathroom or the toilets in the evening/night, almost allthe lights are switched on at once. So, when other people are sleepingin the room, it can be a bit disturbing.

Review 24:All staff people were very very friendly and always available andhelpful. The location is great. The food is fantastic. A perfect placefor relaxing and enjoying skiing and mountaineering. We hope to have thepossibility to visit the hotel and the area again!

Review 25:Nothing to object to.

Review 26:We enjoyed the location so close to the Glacier, the shuttle service to the mountains and the Spa/Pool facilities apres ski. The food was excellent and the staff very helpful. Everything went off without a hitch.

Review 27:The bad ventilation of bar meant smoke in all common areas of hotel. More then the norm for Europe. As non smokers we found this unpleasant

Review 28:This was a lovely hotel. Room large and stunning view. Food and wine served so attractively. Very tasty too. Attention to detail. All requests carefully listened to and actionsed. Staff efficient and friendly. Spa beautiful.

Review 29:The hotel was great! We had a double room facing the glacier, thenupgraded to a suite, just because the price difference wasn't thatmuch more. The hotel is close to the Hintertux Glacier, you could walkor take their free taxi! They drop you off and pick you up at thehintertux lift. They can also arrange to get your lift tickets. Theweather was really crappy one day of our stay, so they opened theSauna early. The sauna is great! Though the "hot tub" isn't that hot,but that is customary in europe. The breakfast is awesome! Quite alarge spread of variety to include an egg stand (where the chef makesyour eggs/omelets to your request). If you want a big omelet, have aman (husband/boyfriend) order and you will get a bigger one than ifyou're a female ordering it :-). There are snacks provided about 1500,a nice small spread, and the dinner is awesome. Every night somethingdifferent. You can have massage/spa treatments arrange at the hotelnext door; the taxi will even take you or you can definitaly walk. Thespa/pool at that hotel is for just guests, but one could use it. Theyserve snacks about 1500 as well, and offer a bigger variety and it isavailable for anyone in the bar! The Apres Ski at Hohenhaus Tenne (atthe hintertux lift) is awesomely fun! All in all, the hotel providedus what we needed for a great getaway weekend.. Just wish the weatherwas better..

Review 30:Duvet was not down, expect that in 4*. Food was average, ie one nightpotatoes were listed as 'grated roast potatoes' but was some horriblestraight out of a big package deep fried variety. Wine list was verylimited, Austria produces fabulous wines so expected a long list withchoice from several Austrian regions. Breakfast juices were not freshbut from concentrates, really unacceptable ina 4* hotel.

Review 31:Ski cellar had very easy access.enoyed home farm produces of yoghurtsand fresh cheese. Nice large spa/sauna area served prosecco for my sonsBirthday -very sweet touch! Reception staff was very helpful, removedcost of dinner from half board package at their own account when wedecided to have dinner elsewhere one night. Didn't even think of askingfor that myself.

Review 32:It was all good

Review 33:The hotel was wonderful. The staff was warm and friendly and helpful. We stayed 2 nights and would come back again in the future. Overall give it a 10 out of 10.
