Reviews for Residence Le Terrazze

Review 1:For the price really just a very basic equipment. Wifi not working in the room. No tv channel working. Cooker not working. Not possible to adjust heating temperature from the room, it was controlled from reception only. So in the begining very cold, then very hot. I reserved a room with sofa bed but there was a bunk bed. Then we were moved to a room with single beds. Would be ok for 50€ but not for the price they ask for

Review 2:Location. Friendly staff

Review 3:Even by Italian standarts the breakfast can't be called a breakfast, there weren't even boiled eggs.

Review 4:There is a beach right in front of the hotel. It is a quiet spot while still only a fiffteen minutes stroll from the centre of Portovenere Large room with kitchen area As always it depends on the price. We've booked for 125 euro and I find that very reasonable even with the lack of a good breakfast

Review 5:Wifi wasn't too fast. Pool's water was salty. Pool chair and umbrella were 14 euros per day. We couldn't lock up balcony's door properly. Some ants on the floor.

Review 6:Scenery was amazing, Portovenere is a very beautiful and lively village

Review 7:Bad wifi - struggled to get a connection at all in all our devices A bit far to walk into town - we ended up driving there instead.

Review 8:The view. We arrived after the reception was closed, and it was not a problem to get access to the room. Ample parking.

Review 9:not good wifi Balcony had no cover from the sun and when you sat down you couldn't see the view over the banister in room 201

Review 10:Great location and breakfast

Review 11:Rooms was a bit dated. Maybe other rooms were more modern?

Review 12:Location was great. Pool was closed, but looked wonderful and would be a great spot to relax beside the ocean and close to town.

Review 13:The place is beautiful, the location is at the same time great and a little far - if anything can be far in Portovenere - but it's not an inconvenience if you don't mind walking. breakfast was nice and staff very kind. Highly recommend!

Review 14:Nothing.

Review 15:Wonderful setting on the edge of the bay. We got the evening sun on the terrace, which was lovely to enjoy the view. We only stayed one night but the apartment was very well equipped for a longer stay. Nice breakfast, plenty of choice and a pleasant setting in the restaurant.

Review 16:kitchen equipment not full, difficult to check in, the reception should be open till 20 , we were there 19.30 and it was already closed. They left for us some information, but in my opinion not enough.

Review 17:very nice view, very good located, clean, cosy apartament

Review 18:Fairly basic apartment. No oven in the kitchen. Guests are responsible for washing their own dishes (or get charged $30E) but no dish washing liquid or even a tea towel was provided.

Review 19:Fantastic views over the water looking back towards the main town

Review 20:The office was closed between noon and 3pm. Perhaps Italian culture but doesn't work in business environment.

Review 21:Parking, Position, flexibility to chose swimming pool or the mare, restaurant meals superb quality and quality apartment.

Review 22:fold out sofa bed for the children was squeaky and uncomfortable - it took up all the living space. We would have preferred a second bedroom option with single beds. Breakfast was expensive and not included.

Review 23:Location to Portovenere. The beach is right out the front.

Review 24:Breakfast is very poor.

Review 25:Location is great with free parking

Review 26:A beautiful place to stay. Superb views and close to port town cafes restaurants. Thoroughly loved our stay

Review 27:Terrible management. They could not care less. They even said so on the phone to others in Italian when they thoughtake I could not understand.

Review 28:nothing

Review 29:The location was great, staff was nice and brought us some water when we arrived. room was clean with a great view of the water

Review 30:No bad experience, only suggestion: small table on blacony would be nice.

Review 31:only 20 minute (slow) walk to centre of Portovenere.

Review 32:Great balcony view over beach, harbour. Lovely breakfast. Room & bed fairly basic....just slightly above average....

Review 33:There was nothing I didn't like.

Review 34:Beautiful hotel, lovely room, stunning view of the gulf and Portovenere from the balcony.

Review 35:Staff very friendly and comfortable room with a small terrace. And they allowed us to use their laundry facilities.

Review 36:the room was good with a little balcony to watch the sunset. Loved the pool, it was still warm enough to swim !

Review 37:Nothing

Review 38:Everything

Review 39:Arriving by Ferry and the spectacular view!

Review 40:- Located on the beach - Lovely beach - Within walking distance to Portovenere - Parking facilities

Review 41:The breakfast was miserable, no choice at all and poorly presented. If you can, go to a bar, any! The pool is not the hotel pool but is next to it to share with a private beach which makes it crowded with people and noisy. And you have to pay for it.

Review 42:It appeared that on May 20, 2014 the facilities were not quite up andrunning smoothly for the 'season' yet. There was plenty ofmaintenance and upkeep going on preparing for the upcoming crowds butnot available for our stay. That was a disappointment. I would haveliked to have been aware that this is more of a seasonal facility andnot as accommodating in the 'off' season. Air conditioning wasnot available although it was hot and greatly needed. The rooms areplain and sparse. We were further from Portovenere city center then Ihad realized but it was a beautiful walk. Personally, I would not stayhere again but families with children would probably enjoy it more.Especially if they are coming for rest, relaxation and swimming. I cameto explore and experience Portovenere, and wanted more of a'Hotel' experience. The pictures are more expressive then theactual facilities.

Review 43:The staff was wonderful and quick to assist in any way possible.

Review 44:What a great location to explore Cinque Terre towns. We loved Portovenere and the castle. We were there in the shoulder season so it was not busy and warm enough to utilise the great pool area, I could imagine the pool would be a beautiful place to relax after a day of hiking in the warmer weather. We had an excellent view of the town and surroundings from our balcony. Would stay there again!

Review 45:The location was very good with beautiful views. It was about a 10-15 minute walk to the town square, so it was very quiet. We took a ferry from the town square to the towns of Cinque Terre. It was very convenient.

Review 46:Internet coverage was patchy and was non existent on one of the days but it was a national holiday so no one was around to sort it out. It could do with providing salt and pepper in the kitchen, and minimum washing up liquid and sponge so you can do the washing up.

Review 47:Great location overlooking the bay, and lovely views from the balconies. The pool was closed as we went at Easter, but it looked very nice, and I would like to go back in the summer months to enjoy this side of the facilities. The staff were friendly and did their best to sort the few small things out that we needed. The flat was simply but nicely appointed.

Review 48:There could have been a long mirror and tissues in the room. The restaurant had a wrong interpretation of the menu in english. We were 2 single ladies in off season and no-one in restaurant at breakfast to get coffee on last day.

Review 49:Only one thing, the oven in our room did not work but it was not a real issue.

Review 50:If you like being away from the main towns this place is great. Location was right on the water so the view was terrific. Breakfast was perfect and the staff was very friendly.

Review 51:Nothing to dislike.

Review 52:The location is very good. It's at the end of the Cinque Terre drive and out of La Spezia. Portovenere is a beautiful town with tis old church, fort, town gates and picturesque lanes.

Review 53:Internet access was almost non existent and even when it worked, the speeds were very poor. Couldn't get a cup of tea at breakfast two morning running because the machine was broken. Ever heard of a kettle?

Review 54:Great location and good restaurant.

Review 55:We had a great room with a little terrace looking to the poets gulf. Everything was so clean. Great location to start your trip for the Cinque Terre towns.

Review 56:The accommodations are spartan and windows are not placed to take advantage of the view. The breakfast did not compare favorably with other places we stayed on this trip.

Review 57:The location is quiet and beautiful. It is a short walk to restaurants and piers for boat trips.

Review 58:Double bad. We have specifically ordered double bad, however the bad in room was made of two separate single bad without a top mattras.

Review 59:Location. Separate entrance and independence from the other hotel guests and staff. Nice beach near the hotel and nice view. Lovely kitchenette and specious room.

Review 60:Difficult to find as the hotel was not well signed on the front and looked like apartments rather than a hotel

Review 61:Clean and comfortable room with self catering facilities - the latter was not expected. Fantastic view from the room over the harbour

Review 62:The breakfast was quite poor. The room had a very strong smell of rosé perfume.....we had to leave all windows open all night!

Review 63:Great location with terrific view of the sea and the town. Room and bathroom were spacious. Worth staying for at least 2 nights as a base to visit the 5 towns via boat and to see Portoveneres old town and castles.

Review 64:Kitchen had no jug, toaster, dishcloth, washing up liquid, tea, coffee sugar sachets. Apartment very basic.

Review 65:The terrace off our room, proximity to beach and easy walk to town, the view

Review 66:matrimonial bed was two twins pushed together and kept separating - really annoying. paddle boat had broken pedals so it was a disappointment.

Review 67:great location: sea view with wonderful balcony with table/chairs and umbrella, beach chairs & pool available, parking onsite, restaurant great for fish/seafood. owner very accommodating and helpful - we extended stay for additional night, did late check-in, provided beach towels and changed batteries in safe immediately so we could use. would definitely stay here again

Review 68:No tea or coffee making facilities in room.

Review 69:Lovely room with own terrace, equiped with sunbeds, table and chairs and plants! It had a fantastic view over the bay and beach. Luxury bathroom. Excellent air con cold and quiet. Lovely food in restaurant.

Review 70:Breakfast poor, "Team Terrazze" breakfast lady uninterested and slow. Swimming pool not open till10 and closed by 6 so had to use sea and beach in front. Wouldn't recommend full board as restaurant has no atmosphere was empty and service at breakfast poor

Review 71:Car park underneath as parking is a problem in Portovenere. Good view from outside on patio with chairs, umbrella and sun beds. Reception efficient

Review 72:Wow, great location. Beautiful Pontovenere is a great place fromwhich to explore Cinque Terre. The ferry boat leaves right from theharbor in Pontovenere to the Cinque Terre towns. We had fantasticrooms at Residence Le Terrazze, both of which included a full kitchenand great deck with fantastic views. Front desk is not 24 Hours whenwe were there.

Review 73:Rooms overlooking the water and being able to relax on our private terrace. Easy walk into the town. Excellent restaurant with good food and service.

Review 74:No hot water overnight until resolved next day. Had to requestdish cleaning soap and scrubber,no teatowel. Again these wereresolved quickly.

Review 75:Location of the hotel is excellent with beautiful views back toPortovenere. Excellent place to base oneself to trek the Cinq Villes.Note at the moment most are closed and can only go between Monterossoand Vernazzo. We used the day ferries that run between the towns butnote they are weather determined and wernt running two out of the threedays we were there. In this case you need to travel back to Spezia bybus to catch the train between towns. Great outside balcony where we atemost nights looking out over the bay.Roomy one bedroom apt with pull outbed couch.

Review 76:I ve asked for a twin share room when i ve done the booking and when we got there reception did not see that so the room wasn t ready , had to go out for one hour till room was ready During the night yjere is nobody at reception , should be 24 hrs , shouldn t it ??

Review 77:Great view Breakfast was very good too

Review 78:The location close to a port and beautiful walks along the Promonade, close to town and quanit restaurants. Friendly Staff and will doinganything for a pleasant stay. Great Value. We will stay again. Highlyrecommended.

Review 79:The internet kept on breaking down but the staff tried their best to assist. The problem is that because it is not a hotel, staff are not available between the hours of 8pm & 8am.

Review 80:we loved being next to the sea. It is more an apartment than a hotel but this was a positive rather than a negative.

Review 81:wi-fi connection Room was cold and there was smell of humudity.

Review 82:staff

Review 83:No working wifi!!! Which is a MUST for overseas travellers!

Review 84:Beautiful location! The town is delightful!

Review 85:Location was excellent. Restaurant was lovely and facilities were beyond expectations.

Review 86:only few channel tv. sofa bed in apartment was camping bed.

Review 87:location

Review 88:No free wifi. No free breakfast.
