Reviews for Tenuta Lonciano
Review 1:This place is paradise and we will surely come again. What impressed us the most is the care for the guest from the owners! Daniele practically prepared our own guide and routes where to go and what to see in Tuscany - incredible!
Review 2:We can name a lot of things we liked very much: from great location, superb breakfast, cute and clean rooms...but above that is the feeling being really welcome here! We thank Daniele and Massimo for this unforgetable days!
Review 3:Daniele and Max could not try any harder to make you feel at home. We loved the view. It is in the mountains so for the faint of heart it is a bit of a hilly drive but if you love an adventure, this is your place. Traveling to Florence is so easy by train from there. It is authentic and beautiful. Thank you Daniele and Max! We will be back.
Review 4:This is one of the most amazing places we have been. Everything was just perfect to the smallest detail, even had clips of tiny hearts... We hope to re-visit this beautiful place with wonderful people. Angelina&Roumen, Bulgaria

Review 10:Thanks a lot to Daniel and Massimo. Magnificent site, friendly personnel, magnificent breakfasts. Building of 1242 of construction. As history and smells. I will be in Florence, I will stop only here!
Review 11:Nothing. Car is important to go to there.
Review 12:Special view to see Florence especially in the night. Very very nice staff, Danialle & Maximo. This hotel make me feel "This is italy ".
Review 13:Fabulous villa with an amazing location and perfect views of Florence. Already the road to the villa indicates that your destination would be straight magical. The surrounding area has many trails to explore, adds the charm of a small stream behind villa. the best host I have ever seen. They really take care to make guests feel as much as possible the best! Breakfast offers the best local specialties. My girlfriend had a birthday and Massimo and Danielle had prepared a real surprise, a small cake and flowers. We experienced the first time that our destination deserves a trully clean 10! Worth every euro. Definitely coming back. Bravo Massimo and Danielle!!!
Review 14:Wi-Fi issues beyond the control of Tenuta Lanciano. We had no access for 3 days which may have made our stay that much more relaxing.
Review 15:Beautiful views, wonderful hosts, excellent breakfast. Danielle and Massimo could not do enough to make our stay very enjoyable.
Review 16:Niente ;)
Review 17:Perfect setting (in the Florentine hills, in a beautiful green estate), very friendly stuff, romantic atmosphere, plus great breakfast and the best cappuccino :) Thank you Daniele and Massimo! We hope to come back soon...
Review 18:A little tricky to find but don t be put off it s worth the effort.
Review 19:The room was in a basic style typical of the area. The bathroom was clean and modern and the little kitchen had everything you need (but a kettle)! The view were amazing and the owner couldn't t have been more helpful. Massimo at breakfast was a delight. Would go back again.

Review 22:Just a few insects while climbing up to the Pool/Jacuzzi area.
Review 23:This is such a fantastic place. The location, the owners, the views... Awesome. Had a wonderful stay and my kids loved it too. We were there for 5 days and I was really sad to leave. The owners are the most delightful people . They are very accommodating and extremely helpful. And the breakfast was finger licking. My 5 and 3 year olds enjoyed their whole sat, especially the jacuzzi. Will definitely be back.
Review 24:Low wi-fi signal, Very narrow and steep 20% road to the main road. You need helicopter if you have problems with your car or somebody else on the road. Horseflys around the entrance were very irritant.
Review 25:Very good place.High energy place. Good for relaxing and good for meditation.Extremly good panorama, breakfast and kind stuff. They work for you!
Review 26:My only problem the lack of air conditioning. At night the room was hot and stuffy and made it difficult to sleep.
Review 27:From the moment we arrived we felt at home , and had a wonderful 3 nights stay. Daniel arranged dinner bookings and explained the best way to see Florence.
Review 28:The view from the hotel and its location are very good. Breakfast was nice. Owner and staff are very friendly and hospitable.

Review 34:Everything, especially the breakfast.
Review 35:No negatives although make sure you pack insect repellent due to rural location.
Review 36:Everything! Excellent value for money.
Review 37:Would have preferred small tables for breakfast rather than large shared one.
Review 38:Beautiful views, spacious, good breakfast and good service.
Review 39:Staff, views, facilities
Review 40:Everything was fine
Review 41:The staff is so nice and welcoming. In that scent the best best placed We've ever stayed at!

Review 43:Nothing.
Review 44:Very special small B&B with lots of character. Exceptional hospitality of the owner Danielle and chef Massimo. Unique, very personalized, old and yet comfortable facilities, great view of Florence. Five star and lavish breakfast. Great place to relax and meditate before and after visiting the eternal treasures of Florence.
Review 45:everything was just outstanding.. the views, the breakfast was over the top.. the rooms were all spacious, only about 6 rooms and we had 4 of them. hard to believe how well bathrooms were modernized with a 13th century conversion.. the owners recommendations where all excellent. all and all a 10.. remember this is on top of a mtn. in a national forest.. read other reviews on getting there. and u have to have transportation
Review 46:Very friendly hosts, eager to offer you a perfect stay. wonderful, quiet location with great view. Accommodation tastefully decorated with an eye for detail. Excellent breakfast ( try the cappuccino and the omelet 'complete'). Tip: do not follow your gps (indicated road no longer maintained) but follow the signs from sesto fiorentino onwards. Location is very well indicated
Review 47:Enchanting ambience, with the staff/owners providing an excellent service. The views are spectacular and the peace and solitude are sublime. There is no restaurant, but a superb breakfast is provided and there are two excellent restaurants within two miles.
Review 48:Directions from Sesto Florentino are a little tricky, maybe just me.
Review 49:The owners are very personable and engaged with their guests, but also provide space if desired. The property is very authentic, wonderful views and fresh air. The breakfast is spectacular. Spectacular road to the hilly country surrounding Firenze.
Review 50:This is a very cute hotel with lots of character. Our stay was outstanding and we would love to stay another night if possible. The staff was very help full and let us feel very welcome. The breakfast was extremely good. The rooms was very comfortable and big. We will definitely highly recommend this place to everybody as this is a special romantic setting.
Review 51:Wonderfull located, very friendly host who gave us the best information ( even tickets for the bus and train to visit Florence). The best breakfast. A large and beautifull room with kitchen.
Review 52:It's quite difficult to find it if you are not careful to the signsor if you dont have exact gps coordinates
Review 53:The torment to find it worth it! The scenery is wonderful and the hostsare very nice and ready to help you. This experience to spend some timein that place is amazing!
Review 54:Was difficult to find but we didn't have a gps. The owner was kindenough to lend us his gps and we had no trouble finding our way backwith that.
Review 55:Beautiful location, charming, old feel but with modern amenities, amazing breakfast! Extremely helpful and gracious staff, felt likefamily. Absolutely loved our stay there!
Review 56:It is a beautiful place set in an amazing location. We enjoyed every moment there. Owners were really friendly and helpfull.Breakfast offers great variety and quality...best cappuccino ever
Review 57:Our stay here was amazing - we booked last minute and only stayed one night. On arrival, we asked to stay another but Tenuta Lonciano was fully booked for 2 months - we were lucky to get in due to cancellation. We used the jacuzzi and our hosts were exceptional - offered us a coffee on arrival. A sit down talk of Florence and Siena, including maps. The breakfast next morning was delicious and included personalised omelettes (along with a huge array of continental options) and the most amazing latte art on our coffees we've ever seen. Even though we checked out early the next day, Danielle let us keep our bags there while we caught the train to Florence for the day. He also offered for us to come back, enjoy a jacuzzi and another coffee before we hit the road. Not to mention the complimentary bottle of wine. Amazing level of service for an amazing price - we'd love to come back one day - thanks guys.
Review 58:The work that Daniela and Masimo did to convert the 13th century conventto a great B&B is amazing. Very comfortable room, great breakfastwithout sacrifing much of the original charm. Daniela was veryknowledgeable about the area recommending the best places to eat withoutpaying the "tourist" rates and how to best get into the city -park for free in Sesto Fiorentino and take the train for just 3€ roundtrip. The views are amazing.
Review 59:This place is just Perfect, the location is very good, the view is beautiful breakfast is Amazing! Massimo and Danielle help us with reservations to museums and were very kind and their hospitality was a pleasure We highly reccomand to stay in Tenuta lonchiano
Review 60:A unique oasis in the hills above Florence. The house is arranged with a refined taste for beauty. The big garden is very well kept with nice swimming pool, jacuzzi, lounge areas, olive groves and a breathtaking view. Daniele was extraordinarily hospitable, a perfect host. It says a lot when you arrive for the first time and the host welcome you at the gate in front of the house...
Review 61:Would be grate to have some vegetables at breakfest..like tomatoes, cucumbers...
Review 62:Wonderfull place up in the hills. Its like fairy tale. Daniele is very friendly owner. He open doors to his paradise: jaccuzi, swimingpool, nice and super clean rooms...beautiful garden. Our teens told to us: ''its grate life''. At night we was sitting in jaccuzi and watching Firenze from hill side. Unforgetable :) In distance 1-5 km 3 grate restorants with the view down to Firenza. Grazie!!!
Review 63:The best place we have ever stayed at! The atmosphere is lovely and Daniele and Massimo are the most warmhearted people and they really go the extra mile to make you feel at home! We just loved it, thank you!!!
Review 64:We stayed when it was very warm, there is no air con so rooms were quite warm at night.
Review 65:Made to feel very welcome, breakfasts were excellent and the scenery gorgeous.
Review 66:The detour I had to take to reach the Inn because of a roadwork on the mountain way. I was 3mins away (on the GPS) before realising that I had to drive all the way back down the up the other way. But it was well worth the drive! I wished I could be warned earlier tho :)
Review 67:We loved the beautifully decorated place. The furnishing, the food served and the every delightful host Daniele whose really helpful and nice
Review 68:Great location, specially if you travel with car. Amazingly quiet with a great view and relaxation garden around Hotel. Daniele, Massimo and Maria were so great and helpful that we felt like home. Breakfast was above all expectations, but what must be recommended is Massimo's capuccino, stunning! We recommend Tenuta to all who wish to explore Tuscany but yet want to have good relaxation to recuperate for a next "walking" days and Tenuta Lonciano itself is a Tuscany in it's full glow. Also, listen to Daniele's advice regarding trips and leave car just next to train station in Sesto Fiorentino, free except Thursday from 13-16:00, and take a train (15 mins. ride) to Firenza and back. It saves a lot of time and money. Absolutely fantastic 4 days!
Review 69:Road access is steep and looks like a problem, but it's not. Just drive in low gear...
Review 70:It was absolutely perfect !!! You feel welcome like at a friends home. Never had a hotel experiance like that. Unfortunately could just stay 1 night before we had go back home. Thank you very much !
Review 71:Nothing. It was the perfect accommodation option for us.
Review 72:Our hosts Daniel and Massimo were warm, friendly, hospitable and extremely accommodating. Room was luxurious with amazing views over the valley and Florence. A serene environment to unwind and enjoy our honeymoon. Very affordable.
Review 73:Where can I start??!! A stay here should be on everyone's "bucket" list. Absolutely superb. This is a renovated small convent built in 1249. The renovation is to an extremely high standard, very carefully thought out with a great eye for detail. Our hosts Daniele and Massimo welcomed us into their home as part of the family. We were shown how to access Florence quickly and cheaply by train which was very helpful. I wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the surroundings and good company. Thank you so much. We will be back!!
Review 74:Daniele and Massimo is great hosts. We enjoyed our stay very much and it is worthed to drive extra 10 kms to reach there. I just only say make sure that you book early.
Review 75:Access from the road is steep and partly unmade. Not a problem but requires care.
Review 76:Super location in the hills above Florence, quiet with great views. Massimo, Danieli and Maria were all very helpful and generous, they made the trip so much more personal. Breakfast were fantastic, The room was very clean and well maintained with a kitchen and eating area. While the buildings are very old they have been renovated very well and with modern amenities. We had a great time, and would recommend to anyone who wants to visit Tuscany/Florence, with convenient access to the city, but staying in the quiet of the countryside. Thoroughly enjoyable!
Review 77:You definitely have to be on a wheels to stay here since there's no public transit but it was not a downside for me. Also you have to be in a good driving experience - the road to Tenuta Lonciano pretty hilly and sometimes pretty narrow.
Review 78:Everything was perfect. Actually the experience we've got was a bit above my expectations from reading reviews. Danielle and Massimo are doing a great job in satisfying every aspect of traveler's accommodation. There were so many nice little details: streetlights turning on automatically when you enter the pathway down to hotel or a parking lot, old-style door locks that looked like antique but worked properly, the smell, the cleanliness, very well maintained pathways, chairs and poufs anywhere you like, the view above Florence, Massimo's omelet and cappucco... Very special thanks to Danielle for his help and assistance on best routes, restaurants, places to visit and so on - he was very scrupulous in his recommendations. I'm glad that we had a chance to stay here (4 days) and will not be surprised if there is a long queue to book this lovely place (it has only 5 rooms which is also perfect).
Review 79:My wife and I recently spent 5 nights / 6 days of our honeymoon here atTenuta Lonciano while we explored Tuscany. After arriving back home ourfirst impression was that we want to go back and stay at the same place. After being home now for over 2 weeks, our impression is still the same. From our understanding it was a former convent and now it gives theimpression of being an old style farmhouse, but with modern conveniencesand elegance. When we arrived, the driveway from the main road down tothe b&b seemed a bit daunting, but then once we started down we realizedthere was nothing to worry about. There was a small parking area whereone of the owners, Daniele, met us and promptly gave us a tour of theproperty. He then gave us advice on how to get to Florence withoutspending a lot on parking (12 minutes by train) and advice on where notto eat (I.E. where the overpriced coffee shops and other restaurantswere) and where the more reasonably priced places are. He willinglyoffered that if we needed a taxi to just call him and he would come andpick us up or to call him if we were in any kind of trouble. Our roomwas very nice, comfortable, and more than what we expected as we hadboth our room and a small room that would have been used by children ifwe had any, but which we used to store our luggage. The room includedboth a large bathroom with toilette plus a small toilette room. Thepictures from their website tell the story accurately. There are severalcanopy seating areas outside on the property to enjoy a romantic eveningas well as a pool to help you refresh after traveling or touring. Whenwe enjoyed the pool we felt we were alone in a forest with Florence inthe background as the lavender that was planted next to the pool gave awonderful aroma. The breakfasts were well set out with a large variety of offerings including bread, fruit, meats, sweets, cereal, and fresh juice.
Review 80:We liked the whole atmosphere (the people of T.L., the location of the hotel, the breakfast, the special made cappuccino's, the room we had and the hospitality). The road to the B&B is steep, but we got used to it.
Review 81:You need a car( preferably with gps) to get to and from tenuta Lonciano, limited public transport, There are restuarants 3km away but osteomorella is well worth the effort to dine at.
Review 82:To be greeted by daniele with such warmth, energy and friendlinesscommenced what was to be a superb stay in tuscany. An easy trip tobeautiful florence and then escape back into your own peaceful villa inthe mountains (0nly 10km). Recharge your battery with a walk or bikeride in the mountains(bikes supplied). The rooms are beautiful, spacious, spotlessly clean, scent filled retreat, with superb gardens.Breakfast matches any 5 star hotel with the happy intimacy that massimoprovided. You could stay for 2 or 20 days and still regret leaving. Amust stay.
Review 83:The location of Tenuta Lonciano in the forested hills only a few km from Florence and all services, make this an absolutely perfect place for a break from the routines of a working life. Danielle, Massimo and Maria were excellent hosts. Danielle provided exceptional assistance in booking train tickets and sorting out a motorway toll gate problem. The rooms are quaint, different and superbly clean. The breakfast food choices are incredible. The small farmyard and collection of animals helped create an atmosphere of isolation and peacefulness. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and loved the staff. We recommend Tenuta Lonciano to anyone wanting to stay in the Florence area.
Review 84:We were in Tenuta Lonciano for our honeymoon. The place is fantastic! The location, Danielle/Maria, the donkey, the breakfast and the designof the rooms are all amazing. All rooms have there own unique style. Wewill definitely come back to Tenuta Lonciano if we return to Tuscany. Thanks Danielle and Maria!
Review 85:Everything was lovely! The building itself and the garden are well kept and the rooms are beautifully decorated and comfortable. The breakfast was good. Wifi works. Daniele, one of the owners, runs this place with heart - I have never before felt more welcomed in a hotel. He gave us very good sightseeing and restaurant tips. We loved the animals too!
