Il Gabbiano was the first hotel on the island of La Maddalena, built in 1955. It offers beautiful views of the crystal clear sea and the islands of Caprera, Santo Stefano and Spargi.
Il Gabbiano has a private dock for those with their own sail boat. You can relax in the private garden and on the terrace, right next to the sea.
All rooms are comfortable and include a balcony with a view of the ferry channel between La Maddalena and Palau. They include a TV, minibar and private bathroom.
Breakfast is buffet style and the restaurant serves traditional Sardinian cuisine for dinner. Free parking is available and free Wi-Fi is available in public areas.

Review 1：The hotel could benefit if they painted the outside walls.
Review 2：The staff was amazing, giving us very good advice on the best beaches in the islands and the best places to eat.

Review 12：The hotel is located close to the sea offering a splendid view to Sardinia. Very easy to find, visible from the ferry. The breakfast was very good and quite varied. A simple and nice hotel. The personnel was great. Massimo, thank you thank for everything!

Review 16：The decor is dated and tired all throughout the hotel. The breakfast is probably the most basic we found anywhere on our journey around Sardinia. The hotel felt a bit sad really, possible it was very good in its hay day but that was probably in the seventies. A door was hanging off the hinge on one of the cupboards in our room and we couldnt work out the air con.
Review 17：The view from the hotel would have been amazing had we had better weather - it was really windy so we couldnt really use the balconys. The staff did source us some extra pillows on request but it did seem to take a very long time. The cleaner was lovely and really friendly and the rooms were clean.

Review 36：Nice staff, super breakfast,big rooms facing the sea with balcony, great location just by the sea at a very quiet corner of the island. 5 mins walk to city center. Comfort and clean family run hotel. It's a pity that No meal provided in the hotel except breakfast. Pizza is the best choice for meal on the island since most of the restaurants are not good and very expensive.
