Reviews for Hotel Della Baia

Review 1:Hotel staff a bit cold. Plus the cleaners started hoovering early in the morning to clean and woke us up which made it quite unpleasant. Prices too high for what they give you and considering the season.

Review 2:Nice area and much easier to park than Portovenere

Review 3:There was a funky smell in the room when I got there. Took me a while to figure out it was a towel. Room is far from modern, but OK.

Review 4:I found a good price on Booking, several months in advance. Location on a quiet harbour halfway between La Spezia and Portovenere.

Review 5:Only space for about 4 cars free parking, however they issue cheap parking in public car park so not a huge problem.

Review 6:Sea view, next to the water, managed to get a free parking space just outside the door of the hotel

Review 7:Overall the staff were not at all interested in making your stay special and the 'bar' was very strange..not an optic or bottle in sight..and the drinks varied in strength and price!

Review 8:Loved the location..it was very quiet but close enough to the interests of the Cinque Terra

Review 9:Room was a bit run down & room accessories were rather poor, however the courtyard in the sea front rooms made them comfortable & gave the feeling of a lot of space in the room. Definitely worth upgrading to a seafront room.

Review 10:The restaurant was in a lovely setting & the food good & good value for money. Service in the restaurant was good.

Review 11:The bathroom was very small and the shower wall did not cover enough of the shower area so the floor got wet. Also, our room had a problem with ants.

Review 12:The location was great, it was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful.

Review 13:The location away from the bulk of local tourists and only a mile or so from the boat to Cinque Terre. We had the surprising benefit of a local festival that was aimed at the region a celebration of the patron of the village. And it is beautiful and quiet.

Review 14:Room too small. Shower hard to adjust. Door to small patio not functional.

Review 15:Restaurant was excellent. Wifi and A/C good. Bayside location and village charming.

Review 16:Very expensive for what it is or maybe it was expensive because we left it to the last minute to book. 3 star but compared to other 3 star hotels not quite.

Review 17:Close to bus stop to access Ferry to Cinque Terre

Review 18:Bathroom very dated and shower dirty. Staff at reception not very friendly, we felt like they didn't want to talk to us but they were helpful when asked direct questions. Bar is poor, it's just stuck in the corner of reception.

Review 19:Swimming pool

Review 20:No fault of the hotel but it's not convenient for getting to Cinque Terre in a timely manner. Wifi not completely reliable.

Review 21:Quiet picturesque setting. Friendly helpful staff. Nice free breakfast.

Review 22:the beds were a bit hard for our taste.

Review 23:The location is fantastic, right across from the sea and a 10 minute walk to the port where the boat takes you to Porto veneer; they have electric bikes you can borrow to visit the town or nearby Portovenere, the restaurant staff and food was delicious. All staff were very friendly.

Review 24:Unfortunately the Internet connection failed for a few days, but once it was up, it was splendid. Wifi in our room was great. Not sure this was true for all rooms, as a lot of people logged in from the lobby

Review 25:Our 3-bed room was right above the hotel entrance. Not a problem. Not a sound could be heard all night long. The aircondition was very quiet, but at times we could hear sounds from the corridor. But nothing that caused any concerns.

Review 26:beatiful town not overly touristy very easy to get to porto venere by bus. Let us borrow their electric biked for free and went for a great bike ride around to porto venere! great restraunt!

Review 27:Reception hung on to my confirmation notice until after I had paid and I did not notice until too late I had been overcharged 63 euros - I did get a refund but the hotel was a bit slow to pick up on the problem. Balcony was a bit poky with only room for one chair. Restaurant seemed popular but we were frustrated by the tepid main dish served on stone cold plates. Information in the room booklet was a bit vague and inaccurate.

Review 28:View over bay Proximity to Portovenere and La Spezia for train to Cinque Terre Convenient, frequent bus Interesting artworks in lobby

Review 29:Wifi signal very weak, even in lobby. While pool is open at night the lights were not turned on making use of pool difficult. Restaurant options for Tweens limited.

Review 30:Breakfast was good. View from hotel great. Patio on first floor room nice.

Review 31:Away from portovener, beds and pillows were not that comfortable and wifi was not that strong, they could irove their services.

Review 32:Value for money and good location, but 3-4 km away from portovenere which is not ideal, did not realize this before booking and breakfast could have a little more variety, but overall a very good stay

Review 33:Beds hard but then most Italian beds seem to be! Rooms at the back don't have a nice view at all, best to get one at the front overlooking the water. Internet difficult to use on laptop.

Review 34:Relaxing hotel, good swimming pool, not pretentious, good position. Easy to walk to Portovenere in less than half an hour.

Review 35:Non-sea view rooms a bit dark, small, uninspiring. Breakfast OK but no comparison with restaurant quality.

Review 36:Excellent location on the bay; quiet; parking easy; pool area nice; restaurant fabulous (worth spending a bit extra on the taster menu)

Review 37:The rooms are a bit worn out and the shower is tiny. I had to forgo taking a shower on the last day because I couldn't deal with the space. The bright tiles in the hallways makes it feel like walking into a pool locker room.

Review 38:This is a nice, quiet hotel with many rooms that have a balcony with a sea view. The lobby is upscale and the restaurant is really good. The staff was super helpful and friendly. There is a bus to take you to Portovenere and La Spezia, but know that this is a hotel that is a bit out of the way. The taxi from La Spezia will run you about 28-30 Euros. The bus is number 11 or P, but is a bit hard to find the stop from the train station. If you are prepared for that, you will enjoy the peacefulness of this small town (Le Grazie) and harbor.

Review 39:The Wifi did not cover our room very well, but worked ok in the reception area.

Review 40:Friendly and helpful personnel. Kids loved the swimmingpool, and it was never crouded. Good breakfast. Clean.

Review 41:Very average room .marks on the sheets. Shower head held up by string . Light globes blown and didnt replace. Tv light on all night

Review 42:Right near the water

Review 43:The room s at the hotel are a bit small for the price paid but overall a very nice experience.

Review 44:Gorgeous harbor view from our room, nice pool and easy walk into town for meals. Even an interesting Roman ruins in the hills. Le Grazie does not attract many tourists which we like. All the townspeople are very gracious and accommodating.

Review 45:Excluded on Valentine's night even though we were guests. Long walk in the rain to find a pizza. Spoiled our night and Resturant staff were very unhelpful

Review 46:The cappuccino from the automatic machine was awful but they serve me immediately a good one from the bar after telling them

Review 47:Very quiet place. The hotel is very clean and staff were friendly and helpful. Wonderful view of the small port from our balcony. The restaurant is excellent by all-means.

Review 48:Reception staff could have been friendlier.

Review 49:Foyer and art works throughout the hotel. Good restaurant. Reasonably friendly reception staff. Restaurant staff at night more friendly. Easy parking. Good pool.

Review 50:Our stay was very brief, just an overnight. We arrived after midnight after driving from Milan. What impressed me was that the desk clerk was waiting for us. Although he didn't speak much English, he went out of his way to tend to our needs. He was friendly, thoughtful and committed to serving us. Breakfast in the morning was also delightful.

Review 51:Not that close to Porto. Veneer which could be good and bad. If you have a car highly recommend it but if you want to take the boat from Poerto Venere to Cincue. Terre could be an issue to fine pay public parking, very difficult

Review 52:Nice facilities Great pool Nice room Decent size bathroom with ok shower Very nice breakfast Beautiful view of the Old Marina at Le Grazie

Review 53:The mixture of saltwater and chlorine in the pool was terrible for our eyes. Saw a few other guests as well as my friends react to it.

Review 54:Good placement of pool and bar, a nice view.

Review 55:Bedrooms are a bit basic. Although the swimming pool was clean and a decent size the water level needed topping up.

Review 56:The hotel Restaurant was excellent, also there is another great seafood restaurant 50 yards away in a nearby hotel. Don't miss the pizzeria a short walk away the quality of the pizza belies the appearance of the restaurant. Hotel was really clean. View from room was gorgeous. Don't even bother trying to drive to Portovenere. We used the ferry which was great there is a regular bus service too.

Review 57:The front desk staff did not seem knowledgeable about local activities and activities such as hiking at Conquest Terre. As this is a major activity and reason for coming, I would expect the front desk to have the latest info available. We were told that all training,so we're closed but in the different villages, we saw many hikers enjoying at least some of the trails.

Review 58:The location is fabulous. Le Grazie is the most beautiful place,a real gem. The hotel is in a lovely position, it was fantastic to wake up in the morning to the sound of water lapping against the key side and church bells in the distance. The hotel is not luxurious but is excellent value for money with the best restraunt in town. I will definitely return as soon as possible.

Review 59:No Air-conditioning or Heating facilities. Wi-fi not working in room. Noisy with people singing and talking outside the hotel till 1.00am

Review 60:Staff made us feel like we were an inconvenience.

Review 61:Nice view.

Review 62:rooms are small and old.

Review 63:the view, (if you get a room with a view) nice village where there is market and fair. Great restaurant

Review 64:Poor water pressure.

Review 65:Perfect location and good staff.

Review 66:Rooms were very noisy, paper thin walls. All floors in corridors and rooms tiled so suitcases etc really noisy

Review 67:Great location for attending a wedding in Portovenere

Review 68:Bathroom in need of updating

Review 69:Excellent Resturant especially sea food

Review 70:Very expenisve and de rooms are really old fashioned and not comfortable

Review 71:Nice location on a beautiful marina and close to portovenere

Review 72:the location and pool

Review 73:Wifi

Review 74:Location, cleanliness decor

Review 75:No soap in the bathroom, only shampoo. Terrible wifi.

Review 76:Position, quietness, view, spacious room

Review 77:Great hotel, with close proximity to Portevenere, but tucked away from the crowds and hustle & bustle.

Review 78:Great location not as touristy

Review 79:Quality of WIFI

Review 80:Excellent situation facing harbor and a few minutes from portovenere Friendly staff Good restaurant Nice swimming pool

Review 81:Free, on-street parking can be difficult

Review 82:Fantastic view

Review 83:Location, setting

Review 84:Restaurent meal in evening a little disapointing. Limited places to walk in evening.

Review 85:Large room with sea view and outside patio, great pool.

Review 86:None

Review 87:Location

Review 88:Bit impersonal- hotel a side kick for restaurant Shower and toiletries quite poor Balcony good but could have made more of it

Review 89:The hotel is located in a small village by a cove, very close to Five Fishing Villages. Hotel restaurant serves excellent food. We enjoyed the stay.

Review 90:The reception staff were brilliant and could not have been more helpful!! The view from front over the bay is idyllic!

Review 91:The fact that it showed up as a hotel in Cinque Terre and I booked only to find that it was not. What a disappointment

Review 92:The hotel was clean and cozy

Review 93:room was small, pillows could have been better

Review 94:view, Dinner was exceptionally good. Breakfast was good. wifi worked

Review 95:Beautiful view on the bay, great food, noce spot to visit porto venere and cinque terre

Review 96:Wi-Fi requires registration every time used.

Review 97:Breakfast Pool

Review 98:breakfast was poor

Review 99:nice room with a nice view pool is very nice

Review 100:restraunt

Review 101:location restaurant relaxed traveling via bus to PortoVenere

Review 102:My tip: if drinking house wine in the restaurant, go for the white ; DO NOT TOUCH THE RED! Rough as *****

Review 103:Great location - beautiful view from hotel window. Large rooms, nice pool area, staff all friendly & good service in the restaurant

Review 104:the bed was hard, the bedroom was tired and needs updating, bedroom was disappointing compared with the other areas in the hotel.

Review 105:the reception area, dining room, pool area, having a balcony overlooking the sea. The breakfast was good the artwork

Review 106:Very limited vegetarian menu options at hotel restaurant. Hotel advertised on Booking.com as being in 'Portovenere' but is actually 3km from the town of Portovenere in La Grazie (which is just lovely and much quieter than Portovenere and very pretty and tranquil - at least it was when we went in April!).

Review 107:Most staff spoke excellent English. All staff were super helpful. Rooms were just lovely. Beautiful view of the port. Breakfast was excellent. Wifi worked perfectly. It was so helpful that there was excellent signage in La Grazie to the Hotel (or we may have got the bus all the way to Portovenere and then had to make the pilgramage 3km back to La Grazie!)

Review 108:The hotel is 15 minutes bus ride away from Portovenevere. And La Grazie didn't have much to offer, everyday you have to go to Portovenere for a good dinner. The hotel swimming pool is a joke. Wifi is only in the lobby. Overpriced.

Review 109:The view with sea view room was very good. Free parking available.

Review 110:The staff at the check-in was anything else than helpful and friendly, same as for check-out. We had also emailed in advance that we would be 4 people (2 adults and 2 young kids) in a triple room and got approval for that. Still there were only beddings for 3 people set up and towels for 3 people.

Review 111:The location is great since it is close to Portovenere and Cinque Terre. There are many nice restaurants close by but the restaurant at the hotel is really good too. The kids loved the pool that had just opened for the season!

Review 112:The restaurant was not up to par and after eating at fabulous restaurants in the Cinque Terre area for the three days, I was very disappointed. Note that this hotel is not in Porto Venere and you must drive or take the bus to get there.

Review 113:The Staff were very nice. The hotel was clean and modern, although the bathroom could use a bit of updating. It was quiet and there is parking immediately in front of the hotel and the surrounding area.

Review 114:Hotel is at La Grazie, which is about 3 km from Portovenere. The village is nice, but a bit sleepy: hotel’s restaurant is good, but we couldn’t find another place to dine.

Review 115:Nice interiors (really more than 3 stars), large clean rooms, excellent wi-fi, nice views from the balconies or windows, friendly staff. The hotel has a few free parking places, so at low season is a great possibility for free parking.

Review 116:Breakfast was disappointing, and our room was small and smelled rathermusty. We were also disappointed that it was a drive and/or bus rideto Portovenere.

Review 117:Price was good for the area.

Review 118:Auto parkimiskohtadega esineb augustikuus raskusi.

Review 119:A lovely hotel set in the perfect location for exploring Cinque Terre. It is in Le Grazie, which is a short bus ride away from Portovenere andfrom there you can get a ferry to the towns of Cinque Terre. The hotelhas a lovely pool, lovely rooms, friendly and helpful staff and isextremely clean. It has a really good restaurant too. The setting isvery lovely in the Le Grazie harbour.

Review 120:Rooms are small and although they have all the necessary facilities, completely lack atmosphere. You need a car to get to Portovenere or La Spezia.

Review 121:Nice swimming pool. Good breakfast. Free internet in lounge. 4 free parking spaces.

Review 122:Bathroom facilities quite tight.

Review 123:Loved this hotel. It has a welcoming feel as soon as you walk in. Sea view onto Le Grazie Bay from the two balconies in our room was superb. We didn't eat in the hotel restaurant as there were reasonable restaurants and bars around the bay; parking right outside was full but the nearby public car park was fine. The hotel is in a quiet position and is perfect for a weekend break. Staff very helpful and spoke English. Lovely pool. Breakfast is taken with a view of palm trees and sun dappled water.

Review 124:Primarily it was price, and bad value for money but specifically: therooms were very small ( by European not North American standards)there was barely room for a bed. The decor, particularly in thebathrooms was dated and the fixtures cheap. The hotel service rangedfrom indifferent to poor. The hotel is not located in Portovenereeither. I would say staying here is only worthwhile if you get a roomfor under 100 euro a night.

Review 125:The hotel is of a reasonable basic standard but this is marred by itspricing, which is similar to much better located hotels which it fallsshort against in every respect.

Review 126:The room is small and facilities are very simple. It smelled cigarette which we did not like at all. Plus there was no blanket.

Review 127:Location is good and has a good resturaunt. It is close to Portovenere where is very beautiful.

Review 128:it's not in Portovenere but it's in a near small town Le grazie ( 5 min by bus or 20 min by foot in the Nature!) anyway it was really fantastic.

Review 129:everything: really amazing! the kindness of staff, the cleaning, the breakfast! the restaurant is the best in Portovenere

Review 130:Absolutely nothing.

Review 131:A lovely hotel set in the perfect location for exploring Cinque Terre. It is in Le Grazie, which is a short bus ride away from Portovenere and from there you can get a ferry to the towns of Cinque Terre. The hotel has a lovely pool, lovely rooms, friendly and helpful staff and is extremely clean. It has a really good restaurant too. The setting is very lovely in the Le Grazie harbour. I liked everything about this hotel and can't fault it.
