Reviews for Hotel Za Maria
Review 1:We enjoyed our stay in Sept. The staff was very friendly and the room was spacious and comfortable. Beautiful view and the beach and pool were an added bonus. We will definitely return.
Review 2:The staff working I the hotel is totally hopeless. We arrived at 3:30pm our room was not ready, we waited for 15'. Nobody apologised or offered us a drink of water or anything during our wait. Every time we arrived or left the hotel the staff at the counter would not say 'hello' or 'welcome'
Review 3:Good position just across the road from the sea. Clean and reasonably priced for the time of the year
Review 4:Most of The staff is not kind and doesn't speak english at all. One of them even shut on us few times, because we ask him to solve problems or fix things at the room. The beach and the pool are 10 min walk - You need to cross the train lines over a bridge
Review 5:After along discation we got a free late cheekout . The men at the pool was very nice
Review 6:Location is a bit out of town. It could be a good hotel but the main focus appeared to be on the function room and not the hotel guests. A cordoned of section of the restaurant was the dining area for hotel guests and we had to take breakfast in the reception / bar area as the dining room was once again being prepared for a function.
Review 7:Building is stylish and well fitted out, good sea views albeit that the railway line ran between the hotel and beach. Wifi was free but reception in rooms a bit erratic.
Review 8:rather for local people cause nobody speaks English or German poor breakfast there is a train in front of the hotel - between the hotel and swimming pool in the middle of nowhere - also the first town in the neighborhood is really boring
Review 9:Clean and comfortable hotel nice swimming pool affordable
Review 10:Too isolated, beach is pebbly not sandy. Pool bar has erratic opening times and could be much improved. Breakfast too.
Review 11:Quiet, relaxing, beautiful view from room, right on the beach, great pool. Simple furnishings but comfortable.
Review 12:bed was firm.
Review 13:Beautiful view of sea. Friendly staff. Clean hotel.
Review 14:Very nice rooms with balconies with a view to the sea! Very quiet. Nice wifi. Wonderfull breakfast. Very nice team.
Review 15:The management/family ate dinner in the restaurant, which normally wouldn't be a problem. However, they have children who were quite loud and disruptive. The children were certainly old enough to have better manners, or understand to take their poor behavior elsewhere. Instead we had to endure the noise and poor behavior.
Review 16:The hotel management (family, I believe) are quite helpful and friendly. They made sure all our needs were met and we were comfortable. The sea view from the room was spectacular. The food was well prepared and presented. It was comparable to other restaurants in the area.
Review 17:We stayed at Za Maria for 4 days, and it was 4 wonderfull days. The rooms are perfect with sea view. The Beach and pool are very close and never too crowded. the sea is beautiful and perfect to swim in. The Restaurant has a fantastic open terrace with sea view, so you can sit and enjoy your meal while the sun goes down and a cool breeze comes in from the sea. Food and vine is very sicilian and absolutely fantastic, both breakfast, lunch and dinner. The staff and owners of the hotel are very kind and helpful and the atmosphere is very free, easy and relaxed. If we ever go to visit Sicily again-we will go to Za Maria.
Review 18:A bit tired looking overall. Wallk across the railway line to pool / sea was a bit disconcerting at first, but infrequent, local trains so not a problem.
Review 19:Comfortable room and facilities with sea views (and great sunsets!) Good breakfast - lovely to sit out on terrace. Nice big pool and easy access to sea.Handy little shop next door - otherwise you need a car to drive anywhere; nearby San Stefano was a surprise and a delight.
Review 20:We didn't see the parking area at all and we had to park in the street, next to the main road. The swimming pool and the beach were separated from the hotel by the railway (this is just a point of comfortability, not really negative)
Review 21:The staff were attentive. They prepared dinner for us, although it was too late. They also prepared breakfast at 5.30 am for us, gave us cereals, toasts, croissants, and even a bottle of water to take away, although breakfast time was at 8 o'clock. Really nice staff. Thank you.
Review 22:Its unfortunate that the method of walking to the pool and sea is by aroad over the railway and you have to go past a place where the rubbishis collected. I think the hotel should lobby the authorities to getthis changed to a different place in the village. Even so, for us itdidnt affect enjoyment of our stay but I can see it could be offputting for others.
Review 23:We had a lovely stay at the Za Maria. Beautiful rooms with sea view anda panoramic view inland from the corridor. Breakfast was superb withfresh fruit eaten on the terrace looking out to sea. The swimming poolis really lovely and quiet with direct access to the pebbly beach andsea, good for swimming.
Review 24:This hotel is focused to italian guests. No english speaking staff members. They are very warm to italian guests, but as a foreigner they let you feel that you are a stranger.
Review 25:quite location - nothing for party people ;) , pool and beach not very crowded. Great ocean view from room.
Review 26:My husband and I travelled to Saint Stefan in the winter when there werevirtually no other guests in the hotel than ourselves. Found it curiousthat the hotel was open at all. None the less the room we had was veryspacious and clean with a nice size bathroom. The bed was comfortable. The staff spoke only Italian but we got along well. The breakfast wasvery poor, in fact more than poor. We hope it was due only to the lowtourist season.
Review 27:Breakfast was very poor and the overall service was poor/fair.
Review 28:very nice, family run hotel, clean and safe, you will need car to stay there, safe parking, every room has see view.
Review 29:A very loud children´s party a saturday until midnight
Review 30:Nice newly renovated room with balcony and with a very nice sea view.
Review 31:It is a good place to relax near the sea, if you do not need entertainment in the city, as it is not near.
Review 32:The view over the Thyranian Sea, Frindly personell
