Reviews for Albergo La Rocca

Review 1:If you attempt to go up there from the main coach station, you might as well go hiking instead

Review 2:Modern, clean rooms at nice location, quick to walk up to Rocca Maggiore, accessible by Bus Route C from P.Za Matteotti.

Review 3:Parking charges a bit of a con as the spaces belong to La Rocca, however was probably worth the extra E35 for 5 days

Review 4:Location really good, just below Rocca Maggiore and the castle, as we had a hire car. Just away from main tourist areas so all trattorias etc not overpriced and good quality.

Review 5:It was needed turn on the light even in the daytime. Bathroom is small with simple shower curtain. Location is not very recommendable for seeing monastery. I saw many of good reviews with meals (dinner and breakfast) in restaurant they run, but it was so so. I think food in this accommodation is average of this town.

Review 6:I wanted to see sunrise on the hill so that is the reason why I chose this place but actually Assisi is not too big so most places are not too far from the hill. This place is pretty end of town. Feels like a little isolated. The room is not bright and wall is thin I heard snoring from next door through the night.

Review 7:As I wasn't going to use the breakfast room for the first morning I wasn't shown any other facilities in the hotel. However, with the timetable I was on, I didn't really have time to use them - so I cannot comment on them. Given the warm and friendly attitude of the staff, I am sure they would have done this if I had requested it. One negative though is that the floor of my room was not clean. Having returned wet from heavy rains I removed my wet shoes and walked around the romm in bare feet only to discover my feet were filthy. I was with a group of 24 staying at various hotels in Assisi and as a result we compared our hotels. I have to say, whilst I was happy with my stay, having shared details with other members of the group, they had better service and facilities for less than I paid .

Review 8:Staff were friendly and patient especially when (through my own fault) my room key 'didn't work'

Review 9:Difficult to locate and your map should have made it clearer specially to drive to the place since most of the streets were one-way only.

Review 10:The view and ambiance.

Review 11:The Street out front of the Hotel was a little busy

Review 12:Amazing food at the restaurant Great location towards to top of Assisi Very close to San Rufino Pretty view from the room

Review 13:Nothing.

Review 14:Everything, friendly staff and great location, safe parking for 7Euros. Paid wifi which worked all over the hotel. Would definitely recommend and would return here.

Review 15:The room was a bit small and not in the same building as the reception. It was tough getting through the cobblestone streets with our suitcases :). We were next to the kitchen and the entrance, so it was a bit noisy during the evening and night... The staff didn't know too much English. They had a basic explanation ready when we arrived. But if you had extra questions, they couldn't really help.

Review 16:The private parking was useful. The hotel is housed in a beautiful old building. Very atmospheric. The breakfast was ok. The wifi didn't really work... The location is excellent. Assisi is very beautiful and the hotel couldn't be closer to the city center!

Review 17:Wi-fi is not free (¿?). The configuration of the bathroom makes that when you take a shower, the floor of the whole bathroom gets all wet.

Review 18:Nice place run by a family. Nice view from the terrace.

Review 19:Small bathroom meant the shower is not separate from the toilet, which gets a shower when you do. Lobby of the building we were in is dark and obviously not used unless rented for special occasions. Turning on lights and letting it function as a real lobby would be a good thing to do.

Review 20:Good location with a parking area of their own very nearby. Christian Roberti, who seemed to be the man in charge, was extremely cheerful, helpful, and friendly. He speaks English well; very helpful for those who know no Italian. Room was clean, comfortable, and attractive. Bathroom is quite small but was well maintained.

Review 21:great location, nice staff, small but nice clean room.

Review 22:A tour group in the same hotel was incredibly noisy.

Review 23:Ease of parking. Excellent breakfast. Helpful staff.

Review 24:The room is a little crowd. And wifi is not available.

Review 25:Great breakfast! The landscape is beautiful! Very romantic!

Review 26:Inadequate wi-fi

Review 27:Good location. Availability of parking. They also have a very good restaurant. Everything reasonably priced. Staff helpful.

Review 28:Nothing

Review 29:This is a lovely hotel with air conditioned rooms and very helpful staff. The terraces are perfect for coffee, drinks and socialising.

Review 30:It can be hard to find, no big signs outside, but belive in TomTom and you will be there. The check-in close at 20:00 and make sure you have time enough to find it. No internet - pretty bad now a days.

Review 31:Great location in the old city in walking distance to everything, the big churches and places. It is a great experience to stay in this old school city and really feel the spirit of it. You can park for 7 € on their own parking space and that's a huge bennefit, as parking is close to impossimble in the city. Great value for money!

Review 32:We booked 2 rooms 4 months in advance.Unfortunately it was 1st May and therefore very busy, from the car park which we had booked to being given a disabled room when we are not.The sheets were damp which could have been solved by putting the heating on but as this did not happen I was forced to get the manager to change the sheets at11 pm! such a disappointment as we had really praised this place to our friends. The manager had a couldn't care less attitude

Review 33:We have stayed here before and all was excellent.unfortunately they now seem to be interested in large groups.Food was excellent as usual

Review 34:Absolutely nothing!!!

Review 35:The location was just fabulous. Very scenic surroundings. People are very nice. Hotel is family run and very well cared for. Food at the hotel restaurant was very fresh & very good. Nothing overpriced. So many beautiful places to see and experience.

Review 36:Living in Italy, and traveling quite a bit throughout Italy and Europe, the only thing we would say to the negative for La Rocca is that their beds matresses and pillows are a little harder than we prefer.

Review 37:Albergo La Rocca is in a wonderful location and just a few minute walk to all of the highlights of Assisi. This was our second trip to Assisi and the first staying at la Rocca. We would recommend this little Albergo to friends and stay ther again ourselves.

Review 38:Wifi not included in room tariff.

Review 39:Location, right on the edge of the historic centre but close to the bus station. Many rooms have balconies with lovely views.

Review 40:All was very nice we both enjoyed very much the hotel and everythingaround it . My sister lives in the usa and wanted to see Assisi. She wasvery happy with everything

Review 41:bathroom needs shower stall. breakfast was bad news. no fruit only breads and cereal. someone with celiac cannot eat here at all. cappuccino not good quality.

Review 42:View from balcony

Review 43:Found the hotel just a little difficult to find = more signs wouldhave helped

Review 44:Loved the friendliness of the staff and their willingness to try tounderstand an non Italian speaker

Review 45:The rooms were a little bit small, but not too bad, especially for the price.

Review 46:Best location in Assisi, friendly staff, ridiculously low price for a decent hotel. A great value!

Review 47:The only negative about this hotel is what I call "Europeanshowers" with the shower not separate and just a floor drain, but Ihave learned to consider it as part of the charm. The bathroom wassmall, but everything else made up for it.

Review 48:This was my third stay at this hotel. It sits at the top of the city ofAssisi near the fortress, which is a great spot to tour....It is a shortwalk down the hillside on cobbled streets to the Piazza delComune....the town center. This is a sacred, medieval city and there arenumerous sites to see related to St. Francis and St. Clare...and plentyof shopping, and dining at all price levels, as well. I had aspectacular view of the countryside and valley from my room. Others haveviews looking over the tile rooftops and hillsides.

Review 49:It was difficult to find the place, and I had to park outside Assisi and walk in, then out, in order to figure out the one way grid and proper access ... limited our stay and enjoyment in the town!

Review 50:Quiet accommodations ... friendly and hardworking staff!

Review 51:Location was great, just beside the Rocca Maggiore. Also the service was good. Easy to reach through bus line C from Assisi train sation.

Review 52:paying for parking

Review 53:great location especially with a car great view from rstaurant terrace

Review 54:Showering over the toilet. Wifi carries extra charge. Parking carries extra charge.

Review 55:Good location, very good breakfast

Review 56:Tranquillity

Review 57:Breakfast menue.

Review 58:The location / view was great. Evening meal was great witha a romantic view...

Review 59:Very friendly service, good room, easy access to the town, good restaurant and charming facilities outside to enjoy diner.

Review 60:Coffee and croissants outside in the mornings, view of the hills from the (shared) balcony.
