Reviews for Lavender Hotel

Review 1:the cleanliness could be improved especially in the bathroom.

Review 2:we just needed a room in the morning as we had a 8 hours to wait between 2 flights. the hotel staff let us have the room from 8am to 12pm which was very helpful.

Review 3:Staff are friendly but ineffective. An issue of me retaining my room was dealt with poorly. Room cleaning is intermittent. I was assigned a smokers room (ashtray at the ready) in spite of my stated preference for a non-smoking room. Sound-proofing of doors to corridor could be better.

Review 4:Good location. Decent beds. Reasonably sized pool.

Review 5:Room was smelling. I`ve requested for a non smoking room, received smoking one. Breakfast was very poor and expensive. No slippers in the room Room rate was expensive.

Review 6:Breakfast can be more diverse

Review 7:The staff is so friendly. This is the 4th time we come here. The staff is very polite and helpfull. Location super. And the rooms are nice

Review 8:I wish the breakfast was included too! However they did provide instant coffee, a kettle andd water bottles in the room.

Review 9:Housekeeping was quick to send up some toothpaste and an iron when I needed one in a jiffy! The reception let me pay for my stay per night which was really nice of them.

Review 10:The parking is horrible. They have a basement parking with very tight turns. You will not be able to park the car yourself and the hotel would offer to park the car for you but I didn't like that option as well. So be careful.

Review 11:The location is good and the staff is really friendly. The check-in and check-out process was fairly easy and didn't take much time.

Review 12:1- problem with Wi-Fi no Wi-Fi in the room 2- I am customer in Lavender Hotel I am coming each 2 or 3 month and stay with you but this time you give me high price 400 dirhm I am very sad about this

Review 13:I stayed with a friend but we've got two different rooms booked, it was a last minute dubai trip for me so I just booked it when I was at the airport because my friend insisted so we could be on the same hotel even if she's leaving the next day... I have travelled places and a hotel is very important for me as it will make your stay in that country an enjoyable one. The staff are nice, but not everyone as I have noticed that they have small "arguments" At the reception that made me feel like there's something wrong and this is not very welcoming. I worked in the hospitality for years and this is not a good team spirit . One more thing is that my friends are going to visit me during my short stay in dubai, so a guy friend came in first as some of my friends will follow afterwards... The security and the bellman suddenly became rude and told us that visitors are not allowed in the room, I asked the reception and they told me the same thing...At the back of my mind I've been travelling in and out of Dubai this year and this is the first time I heard such thing and my friends are not going to sleep there anyway. I do understand their point but the way they say it made me feel bad and want to check out immediately. I will NOT book this hotel anymore.

Review 14:The hotel ambiance feels modern and the interiors are nice...

Review 15:Breakfast

Review 16:Nice hotel, friendly and clean. Good spacious double bed room. Excellent bathroom! Bit disappoint with hotel hidden fee that I booked £36 for one night. Its good deal unfortunate when I arrived at the hotel reception they addition 10% service charge plus AED 10 tourism fee per room PER night... It's mouse trap and leave me a no choice to paid. tut! Good location, its not far walk to the Reef Mall. Swimming pool, good towel provide but water are freezing. Breakfast are bland and unquality.

Review 17:clogged sink, old disgusting towels, hassle to repetitively log in for Internet, they don't allow visitors to go to the room, Filthy water boiler

Review 18:Comfortable bed.. Near the metro station and restaurants..

Review 19:Reminded me of something out of Fawlty Towers, but staff are friendly and hotel comfortable. They even let us check in at 10 in the morning which was excellent. Basic but worth staying if you can get it for a cheap price.

Review 20:just one towel in bathroom closet shower badly working bed blankets not totally clean room noisy for traffic even in a upper floor room

Review 21:room big and comfortable very close to metro and Al Rigga road good staff

Review 22:Only had a sleep and was away all day long. Can't say anything that I didn't like

Review 23:Value for money. Lots of restaurants around. Alive neighbourhood. 500m from metro 15 min from airport. Parking available all night long

Review 24:The breakfast are not that good. They should include some rice on breakfast tough.. And mostly are indian staff...

Review 25:Near the al rigga and union metro station and also near the airport... And the restaurants are all near them...

Review 26:Booking.com advertised all rooms as having a balcony and panoramic views - we were not given a balcony although were moved when I requested one. There were no panoramic views but given the built up location of the hotel I failed to see how there could be. The second room we were given had quite a musty smell but sheets were changed when requested

Review 27:The staff were very friendly and very helpful - the food was excellent, varied and good value Breakfast and lunch were buffet options and al la carte evening menu or Mexican. 10 mins walk from metro. Taxis readily available. We booked tours through hotel as they were cheaper than tour centre near metro. Free wifi. Would stay there again

Review 28:Breakfast is ok. But then again at 35dhs for two what more can u expect. The sofa in our room had left over chips crumples.

Review 29:Very friendly reception staff. I would stay here again. I got upgraded to VIP room which was noise free. Clean lobby.

Review 30:within deira region but a little away from the new city(marina division) and jumeriah(palm island).

Review 31:staff was really really friendly and helpful. tasty breakfast and well furnished rooms with cozy beds, amenities and facilities were very satisfied. thanks a lot for management.

Review 32:Breakfast not that desirable, limited options

Review 33:Very polite staff from reception esp Vanadette, very clean, spacious rooms, very close to metro and bus station, close to food joints too

Review 34:The staff were remarkable, very pleasant, helpful with information, readily available to assist with any query and they respect your space. The rooms are spacious and clean - for the price you pay, it is real value for money. I liked its proximity to the metro, supermarket, restaurants. It felt like home away from home as i was there for weeks.

Review 35:Very good location, very friendly/helpfull staff especially the indian guy at the travel desk. The breakfast was very hearty and varied and tasty. Clean and comfortable room, fresh towels, water, tea, coffee every day.

Review 36:Internet requires a daily change of password and access may be a bit complicated. Once connected, internet is fine.

Review 37:Well located near Union Square in Deira for both metro lines. Size of rooms offers value for money.

Review 38:The location of the hotel is not good as no much taxi drivers knows Al Jazeera road in which the hotel is located, besides it is far of the nearest metro station (Union station). Some of the towels was very old, and the painting of the walls and the floor carpet were not clean.

Review 39:The reception staff was very friendly. The bathroom was clean and big.

Review 40:Shower water pressure was a little on the low side but when called to rectify, maintenance responded promptly.

Review 41:No music and noise from nightclub as mentioned in earlier reviews (I was on the first floor too!). Very respectable crowd and family orientated. Rooms and bathrooms very large and spacious

Review 42:Breakfast was a bit sloppy, could have been better. TV not working properly

Review 43:Close to metro. Room was spacious and wifi was working well inside the room!

Review 44:The dirty walls, we only got our room cleaned once within 10 days and also the view was of another building which was right next to ours so couldnt see anything at all and had bird droppings on our window so that didnt help. Had a problem with a socket which wasnt working so the guy came up and didnt even check it but said my samsung charger was broken, basically said ok and went. Paid a decent amount and didnt even get a microwave and barely got refills of water bottles. Had to move hotels as i couldnt sleep here at all.

Review 45:Rooftop pool was decent but freezing water! Couldnt even swim in it.

Review 46:Room furniture is not very nice. Breakfast was poor, with only a few choiches of sweet and bakery products. noisy road close to the hotel

Review 47:Spacious room, nice swimming pool on the roof, good and clean toilet. Good location, 5 minutes walking away from the underground station

Review 48:wifi is not available in the rooms. but this is stated in the description. although everything is clean and tidy. i think it could do with a lick of paint and some freshening up in the next year or so. it is called the lavender hotel. so i think they need a bit of lavender in the colour scheme!

Review 49:I travelled with my mum. we stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. we were out most of the day so the hotel was mainly for sleep, wash and breakfast. it is about 7 mins walk from union station. nice places to eat nearby. few corner shops nearby. didn't really get to explore the area. the best thing about the hotel was the staff. they were so friendly, helpful and nice. the hotel is clean and tidy but it is 3 star. so it is more like "things at home" rather than everything in prestine condition. breakfast was fine and toiletries in the bathroom fine. bed and bedsheets clean and fresh. called room service a few times. very prompt and helpful.

Review 50:only the bath towels looks a bit old.....

Review 51:all the staff are very friendly and especially the guy in the pool...thanks so much..we really enjoy our stay....

Review 52:Parking was a headache, though the hotel staff wud help if u handed the keys

Review 53:Breakfast had limited items, but was pretty good. Hotel has a very upscale feel, close to very nice restaurants and ghurair mall.

Review 54:The staffs at the reception, not very accomodating. Didnt inform me about the timings of the pool, the breakfast, i had to ask it myself. nobody accompanied us to the room. And when I called the reception to ask for something, the response was not in a nice way. Thank you

Review 55:The room is ok, bed is comfortable. Breakfast is good, value for money

Review 56:Breakfast is not so good...Indian food not available ...but staff is good and friendly

Review 57:Friendly staff...specially the travel desk person Mr Anees...and ground staff...great

Review 58:The staff was very friendly, helpful and always courteous. The travel desk agent is very knowledgeable of the products and provided us with sound advice when assisting with selection of day trips in and around Dubai. The hotel is well located close to Union Station and other transport hubs, and close to a wide variety of eating and shopping outlets.

Review 59:The food in one of the two restaurants wasn't good at all.

Review 60:Almost everything but STAFF stands out: Professional, helpful, honest and smiling all the time. Big thank you ladies and gents.

Review 61:- room was a bit noisy as windows where not closing completely and a lot of noise was comming from the street - breakfast was tasty but rather poor in variety. We stayed 10 days so it got boring quickly. I would not recomend it for longer stays - a fitness room would be a nice thing to have

Review 62:good location, near Union Metro station. By the time we got to the hotel, all standard double rooms where booked so we got an upgrade to a suite. It is one of the cleanest hotels I ever stayed in. Towels where changed everyday. Nice but rather small pool on the rooftop, to bad it's opened only between 9am and 6pm

Review 63:Free room wifi didn't work or kept cutting out. Had to ask every day for towels. A little too far out of the main centre. No where much to eat around here.

Review 64:On Dubai standards not too expensive

Review 65:There is no driveway in front of the hotel. It is difficult to hail a taxi without causing blockage on the traffic.

Review 66:The hotel was easy to find, just about 5 mins walk from Union metro station. Fastfood restaurants and small grocery are close by. Bathroom is clean. A/c is easy to control. Wifi is working well. Bed is big even for the single room.

Review 67:Biggest problem was creating the wifi connection. If you're spending 17 days in a hotel and every time you leave your room and go back you have to re-enter the username/password to access the wifi, it becomes quite tedious. On top of that you also have to get a new username/password combination every day The hotel is on a street corner that has quite the impatient drivers. So when on the street side, expect honking to happen quite frequently between 08:00 and 23:00. When the normal chef is off, the Mexican restaurant is not the same standard. So make sure you ask if the regular chef is there, it's a tall guy

Review 68:The Mexican restaurant they have is really good and very reasonably priced. From sizzling Fajita till Buritos, they were all good. And I should know, I've had half the menu. I've never had breakfast there though, only dinner. You have a choice of two metro stations about an equal 7 mins distance. Which is fine on most days, although on the real hot mornings I would take the cab, which is always just a few seconds away. There are few Westerners, which is great because it means the pool isn't so crowded. Rooftop pools are limited in space and this is no exception, but there was always room and most of the time I would be the only one there. The bandwidth of the wifi connection is very good. I've had almost no problems streaming videos in HD (720p) quality. which is not always the case in a Dubai hotel.

Review 69:The staff was extremely friendly. They went above and beyond for my sister and I. We had a mix up at the airport for our 1:30 am flight out of Dubai and had checked out at about 10pm. When we couldn't get on the flight we went back to the Lavendar and they kindly gave our room back to us. We were so grateful to have a place to sleep. They also let us store our luggage there the next day, as we were on the same late night flight out as the night before. The room wasn't perfect but for what we paid, we thought that it was great! Thank you to the staff of the Lavendar, from the front desk, restaurant, all the way to the housekeepers and pool staff. You made our stay in Dubai a very memorable one.

Review 70:Lift lobby on floor had a horrendous smell which was also in my room. Other floors did not have this smell. I was on the 2nd floor. Mini bar only has 3 drinks in it. At 10 dog Rams each they were 5 times the price of the shop around the corner. Not a single taxi driver new the hotel as Lavendet Hotel.

Review 71:Pool was great.

Review 72:I have been charged £100.00 more then what i should of. Can you please tell me. What is the contact detail of the department to complain. Thanks.

Review 73:We needed to move rooms as the original room allocated to us was not suitable. The shower was not easy to get into for the mature or short people, and no rail that I could reach. In general the hotel in particular needs to be refurbished, painted, and pool area needs to have a little more attention.

Review 74:staff were very friendly and helpful. close to rail was very convenient.

Review 75:Too far from the main area, but you get what you pay for here! Wifi was useless. Lots of issues with room but most were sorted out.

Review 76:Staff helped with all our problems as best as they could

Review 77:was used by a lot of indian people who are very noise [all shouting] cannot talk quietly even at midnight when going to their rooms they have to have a conference on the landing.evening meal menu[Mexican] did not vary food was excellent & was told that anything i wanted the kitchen would try to oblige. hot water was only warm

Review 78:location helpfulness of staff room size

Review 79:Wi-Fi needs some improvement. User name and password should be same for all instruments (mobiles and laptop use) for each guest.

Review 80:Good location, reasonable room rates, reception staff is very friendly, tour guide available in the hotel, availability of different type of food at breakfast time.

Review 81:Their free wi-fi was very bad. It was so hard to connect in the rooms and guest has to stay in their lobby to have a strong wi-fi connection (not convenient at all).

Review 82:The hotel's fixtures are all new since they just recently renovated. Very comfortable especially their beds.

Review 83:Not enough towels in the bathroom for two persons When we ask for water , they said you have the right for only two small bottles I only drink green tea and they said we only have regular tea

Review 84:Location close to everywhere

Review 85:receptionists are friendly but not enthusiastic..no bedroom slippers and toothbrush ready..one curtain was not fixed properly

Review 86:affordable..comfortable bed..very good room service staff..

Review 87:Nothing bad for the hotel accept the location is a bit too far and no sign boards for direction

Review 88:Staff is very helpful and cheerful. There was always a smile on their faces. I could see them going out of their way to make their guest comfortable

Review 89:Breakfast - don't bother, unless it's included in room rate. Pool opened at 9, not 8 like in other hotels (considering in September temperature reaches 35 degrees by 9 o'clock)

Review 90:Nice hotel with very friendly staff

Review 91:The bus tour of Dubai, arranged by the hotel, was convenient but very disappointing. We were not given any map or pamphlet by the hotel or organiser and were left in the dark as to what was happening (ie transfer from a little van that appeared to be going to the airport!). The tour guide was very hard to understand and his commentary was lacking in substantial info. I would avoid using this hotel booked tour and go for one of the reputable official tours (can find them in malls) instead.

Review 92:The staff were friendly and the room was large. WiFi worked well too.

Review 93:The location of the Hotel is far away from Dubai's highlights. The internet network is complicated. You will have to log in every time you move floors in the Hotel. After doing this it has happened several times that the code had been experide. When this is the case you will have to go back to the lobby for a new code.

Review 94:The room, service and booked activities have been good.

Review 95:The parking facilities are limited, especially if you have a large car. Also there is no concourse at the front of the building to park when you arrive or leave. Having said that, the staff did assist me with both of these issues and so I did not experience much inconvenience.

Review 96:The room was spacious and well appointed. It was very quiet and very clean.

Review 97:The breakfast is poor. More choice of fruit and breads would be nicer.

Review 98:Staff recognized us from a previous stay. Location nearby ghurair mall and stations.

Review 99:The pool closes too early (18 hours), at a time when tourists return from their ride of the day

Review 100:Furniture is old Very good location near a metro station Very good value for money

Review 101:Nothing

Review 102:Me and my family of 5 enjoyed every part of this hotel. It was our first time travelling to Dubai and choose lavender hotel because of beautiful pictures and reviews. The Location, rooms, wifi speed, staff, were all great. Additionally we all enjoyed the variety of food for breakfast and how friendly staff were. Definitely returning in the future.

Review 103:Taxi didn't know where Lavender Hotel is. This is because Lavender Hotel used to be Lords Hotel. Tell taxi that Lavender Hotel is next to Rigga street at Al Maktom street. No ceiling lamp.

Review 104:Free wifi, good location, easy to find taxi just hail taxi. Spacious room and bathroom. When we want to go to the airport, the staff hail a big taxi for us. 15 minutes away from airport and naif.

Review 105:Breakfast coul be more reach.

Review 106:Very clean and modern lobby, restorant, bathroom. it's no croudy ,so all servise are fast.Late check out with special permission. Easy location. No nigth club, so it's not noisy.

Review 107:No major TV channels. No channels for different community people. Very bad and worst.

Review 108:Nice hotel to stay. Staffs and securities are responsive. Clean and neat. Nice breakfast.

Review 109:Staff did not even know there is a ATM 50 meters from the hotel and send me to one that is 600 meters away in a shop that was closed

Review 110:No problem with an early checkin

Review 111:Everything was OK.

Review 112:Staff very helpful with local knowledge - resturants and also helpful as hotel is near Heathrow airport and it cost us only 30 pounds in a taxi to catch our flight

Review 113:Parking spots are rare. The underground parking got a mistake in it. The parking is engineered wrong and it caused my car mirror to totally break. The guys at night shift around midnight did not help me in parking and lied to me and said no parking sports underground while there was a B2 with empty spots but again the building is engineered wrong you have to be very careful going down and its exhausting and u always need assistance.

Review 114:The hotel is very clean and its location is perfect near everything. Beds are comfortable and bathrooms are neat and wifi is good.

Review 115:It's not near anything, there is no alcohol anywhere (minibar, restaurant, bar), but that might be a UAE thing.

Review 116:good breakfast, swimming pool on rooftop, helpful staff. Walking distance to metro stop to go into town or to airport.

Review 117:There was nothing we did not like. Reception could be more responsive to new arrivals rather than the initiative having to be taken by the incoming guests.

Review 118:The staff were helpful and personable and reception went out of their way to allow very early check-in. The studio room was very spacious and well furnished. The facilities for eating and coffee where fine and the food reasonably priced for the quality.

Review 119:Well, not as such. I would just suggest the staff needs to know how to behave in hospitality field. I don't have any complain against any staff, but they need to be smiling when dealing with customers. They do the job but not with smile :)

Review 120:A good hotel in a good city of Dubai, its value for money!

Review 121:Nothing...

Review 122:I think marychele the Filipina lady on the receptionist desk is a hard working lady with much smiles on her face.I think she needs an increase of wages.thanks

Review 123:Nothing at all

Review 124:By far the best hotel i have stayed in. 5 star Facilities and Ambience at Budget Hotel Price. Absolutely no Non-sense Hotel. Will be staying here everytime i drop down to Dubai

Review 125:Parking space access is very difficult because of very tight ramps into and out of the basement parking levels.

Review 126:Location. It's near shopping centers.

Review 127:Only gave us room after 2pm even though we requested early.we were at hotel at 10am gave us a bed twin for couple.put them together but was very unimpressed. No beach access. Staff were not very helpful

Review 128:Location.pool

Review 129:Had to get a new WiFi code every 24 hours. No place for a taxi or any vehicle to stop in front of the hotel (there is a place around the corner from the entrance though).

Review 130:Breakfast included with our package. Early check in with no hassle. Comfortable bed.

Review 131:Basement parking is too tight. especially for suvs.

Review 132:The Security Guard at the basement parking is very kind and does his job very well. He assisted us in parking our car. and most of the time does valet parking as well. Clean room and bathroom.

Review 133:Occasionally other travellers were inconsiderate talking loudly during the night as they accessed the lift near our room.

Review 134:Clean, comfortable, friendly staff

Review 135:I liked everything about this hotel. There is nothing I didn't like. I will definitely bring my family with me to this hotel next time. And thanks booking.com for saving me hundred dirham. The regular for the room I stayed was 260 but with I got it for 160 with booking.com. Thank you so much! I love you guys!

Review 136:Cleanliness, nice and professional staff, location is near everything, great price.

Review 137:1- Very bad barking,I went to B2 with my 4 wheel car then I can't go out, the hotel's driver told me that noway to come to B2 and no any warning signs for that. 2- very bad smell in the hotel. 3- no paring in the front of the hotel or side for picking my family. 4- very bad arrangement for the furniture inside the room, you feel the room is very narrow. - finally, I went to my friend and stay with him.

Review 138:Swimming pool was lovely,i enjoyed every minute in it. The hotel room was spacious and clean and very convenient to two metro stations. Staff were very helpful.

Review 139:There was a lot of mold under the decoration of the wash-basin. The room wasn't clean enough. Some sockets were not repaired. The TV worked with small pauses which occured every 20 seconds. Coffee bags were not changed after previous guests, so they were already half-used. The lamp shades were a little bit dirty. The beach was far away and there was only one bus 28 which went to Al Mamzaar. It showed up every 30 min.

Review 140:We liked the helpful staff, the concierges, porters and cleaners. The room was very spacious. There was a balcony and good air conditioning. Free tea and coffee facilities. Everything was in walking distance. There were metro stations of both red and green lines. There were so many street cafes at Al Rigga Road, a shopping mall and plenty of supermarkets, including carrefour. It was possible to smoke on the balcony. Not far from the airport, two metro stations away.
