Reviews for Hotel Tiber
Review 1:Perfect both for a stay over before a flight in Fiumicino but even for a little vacation with excellent fish restaurants and swimming-pool. You can also go to Rome during the day.
Review 2:Staff at reception desk extremely helpful..... also Staff at restaurant especially Veronica & Mauro and Agostino the Chef! Food at Hotel Restaurant highly recommended too! Above All Very Clean Hotel!
Review 3:Winter, the rooftop bar was not open but the lounge was nice.
Review 4:Great proximity to airport, transiting to Sicily. Did not need to get into the crowd of Rome. Interesting views of fishing boats and good restaurants in walking distance.
Review 5:Excellent staff. Knowledgeable and friendly. They ensured we had everything we needed. Ate in the restaurant and had a very good experience receiving recommendations from our waiter.
Review 6:All good.
Review 7:Very nice property, clean, spacious rooms, most facing the canal and water, very close to the airport. Staff very accommodating. Free wifi and free breakfast included, good value for those wanting to stay close to the airport. We have stayed there on several occasions.
Review 8:So convenient to spend our last night near the airport, something I usually do not do but, Ciampino is a very nice, seaside town with great restaurants. My third stay here. 15 min shuttle to the airport
Review 9:Difficult to find any negatives but, I asked one of the staff on the front desk if someone could come to our room and show us how to get English TV. He said I had to read the instructions. Also we found ourselves stranded at a concert venue late on the Saturday night (I don't think Italian taxi drivers like to take English speaking people). In desperation we telephoned the hotel, but the man on the desk said he couldn't help us. I think we were unlucky on both occasions with the member of staff as everyone else was extremely helpful and friendly.
Review 10:Friendly staff, shuttle bus, nice restaurant in hotel and plenty of restaurants nearby.
Review 11:Very far very city center. Italy is so very expensive. To bad I would love to return.
Review 12:Shuttle from airport. Thank for the requested room heater. Breakfast and coffee were very good.
Review 13:Restaurant didn't open until 7pm, wrong meal delivered and when it did arrive, steak was very tough. They did compensate by a free glass of wine and discount meal.
Review 14:Great location near airport but with things to do in the area. Wonderful view over river and fishing port.
Review 15:Bed cover was synthetic material.
Review 16:Not far from the airport, quiet location, nice view to the sea, excellent food, professional service. I would stay here again.
Review 17:Poor breakfast. Expensive shuttle bus
Review 18:Excellent location for those who need to stop near the Fuimicino airport. Driving time to the airport 10 minutes. The area around the hotel is also very nice, especially for those who love sailing and the view of the harbor. Many seafood restaurants are in close proximity to the hotel, few of them are of really high quality.
Review 19:Check in staff are a little, let's say, "stiff" . Lighten up guys!
Review 20:Perfect for a short stay before we had to travel home the next day. Very modern and comfortable. Was pleasantly surprised by Fiumicino itself. It's a great seaside fishing port and the hotel is directly opposite the wharves where the fishing boats are moored. Plenty of nice restaurants near the hotel. It was a nice way to finish off our Italian holiday before returning home and away from the hustle and bustle of Rome.
Review 21:Not a bad experience, but breakfast variety and quality could be improved. Breakfast room on top floor with nice sea views.
Review 22:We have stayed here before. Room very comfortable. View of the canals with fishing boats and the sea beyond is lovely. Great location to the airport. Seafood restaurants nearby are good.
Review 23:The area for pickups and drop offs is basically on the street and not that close to the doors (driveway and plaza area in front of hotel was chained off both days and I never saw it open) so in the pouring rain it was not that convenient to load our rental car. Facilities are there, but we were told they could not open the chain even for a hotel guest.
Review 24:Great location near the Rome airport (use the local taxis NOT the Rome ones if using Taxi to arrive). Good view and great dinner and breakfast. WiFi was good too! We stayed one night after a long flight and it was perfect for that. It's a seaside town and view from the hotel.
Review 25:Rooftop breakfast room has strange access. Have to exit elevator, go outside, down some steps, and then back indoors to breakfast area. Breakfast itself was ordinary.
Review 26:Good quality hotel close to Leonardo Airport at Fiumicino. Secure underground parking a plus. Seems to cater mainly to business travelers. On-site restaurant was just OK.
Review 27:Staff were friendly enough but definitely didn't go out of their way.
Review 28:Good location, with restaurants around and a nice place for an evening stroll.
Review 29:The pool rules require guests to wear a bathing cap. This bad fashion statement would deter most people from using the facility.
Review 30:Tiber is a really modern hotel located on a working canal used by fishing boats. There are many cafes along the canal serving cheap fresh fish meals. The hotel is minutes from the airport and historic Roman sites and a much better option for a couple of nights than staying in hot tourist-ridden Rome.
Review 31:It was all pretty good. I had to get used to the automatic lights in common areas though. When you get off the elevator it can be pitch dark until the motion sensor picks you up.
Review 32:Hotel is a quick shuttle ride to the airport. The hotel restaurant is surprisingly good. In fact, they served the best pasta I'd had on this trip to Italy.
Review 33:Diner was rubbish , and it's expensive , not in tourist area Pay £80 to update the room end up with the smelly room cos the toilet fan not working
Review 34:the restaurant experience was not positive. Our party of 4 had a long wait-I received the wrong menu item-our waiter never asked if we would like another glass of wine
Review 35:the hotel was very clean and located right on a canal -which made for a pleasant walk opportunity. The airport shuttle was eficient and easy to use.
Review 36:We did not have any bad experiences. The shuttle service was nice but maybe a bit expensive regarding the short distance to airport.
Review 37:We liked the bed and the balcony with sea view. Good location, short walk to beach and restaurants and shops.
Review 38:Breakfast has limited variety, Fresh orange juice in breakfast costs 5 Euro!,
Review 39:Nice room, Good WiFi, Friendly staff, Balcony, Sea view, Near by bus station to Parco Leonardo shopping center for only 1 Euro
Review 40:Had to work to elicit warmth from Night staff at front desk. There's no porter in the evening.
Review 41:View of boats. Super breakfast choices. Pleasant wait staff. Porter's help with our bags in the morning.
Review 42:Location; distance to public transportation
Review 43:Breakfast, room, people, everything was very good, and we had no surprises! All together, very pleasent experience.
Review 44:Price-quality ratio is unbalanced. Equipment is not comfortable and room cleanliness no miracles.
Review 45:The staff was friendly and food in restaurant located on 5th floor was excellend.
Review 46:Terrible bed, a bit noisy from the street, very poor breakfast selection - eggs and bacon both cold, too many cakes, no fruit.
Review 47:Close to the airport, helpfull lady at the reception, helpfull bar staff
Review 48:Nothing
Review 49:New hotel in Fiumicino. Close proximity to airport. Hotel kindly arranged transfer to airport very early in the morning to catch a 7h45 flight to Greece. Friendly, helpful staff.
Review 50:Patio door broken. No guidance at check in regarding using the door key to turn the lights on in the room.
Review 51:Well appointed room, good location, quiet, nice view. Excellent breakfast in spacious and sunny room near the pool with great view. Timely airport shuttle.
Review 52:You had to wear a swimming cap to use the pool (everyone). Roof restaurant is a little noisy.
Review 53:Clean and cheap. Close to some dining options. Free car parking Close to airport. Quiet room.
Review 54:Bed a little to hard for my preference
Review 55:Excellent location for Rome air departure. The Hotel is always very clean, staff helpful and a great breakfast. I have stayed at this Hotel two times now and would stay again.
Review 56:Great location with lots of places to eat out. Great watching the fishing boats next to the hotel. Room was massive with two balconies. Shuttle bus into Rome and close to airport but not close enough to feel like an airport hotel.
Review 57:The staff lack smiles, warmth, and the friendly Italian hospitality. They too tough, and too pragmatic when dealing with guests!
Review 58:The location whithin the city, sea view, proximity to airport, and the hotel interior design are great and impressive
Review 59:Fiumicino Port is a wonderful location to wind down after a busy time working in Italy. It's great to sit on the balcony and watch the fishing boats come and go, and Italians on holiday in a relaxed and easy atmosphere. Good restaurants all around and sundowner on the hotel roof - perfect.
Review 60:The guy at the front desk put us in a small room with a 'king size' bed when we were confirmed with "two double beds". When we came back down he said we would have to wait to get that type of room. We went to lunch BUT he should have told us up front and offered us a better room alternative. Very poor first impressions.
Review 61:Cleanliness and the room we finally got was what I expected.
Review 62:The shower in the bathroom couldn't be used without "flooding" the whole room.
Review 63:There are a lot of good dining opportunities in Fiumicino close to the hotel. We used the hotel as a base for our ferry trip from Civitavecchia to Olbia.
Review 64:The breakfast for a 4 star hotel was very ordinary ... No fresh fruit to have with cereal and the hot items were luke warm at best. Given the amount we paid for the room I think it was poor to then charge you for a pool towel.
Review 65:The rooms were comfortable, the location is perfect and the views are delightful
Review 66:We stayed here for one night because we were flying our of Fiumicino airport the following morning. The hotel is clean and contemporary and very comfortable, there is a super roof top pool too which made a great end to our 2 week holiday elsewhere. What is also surprising is the location is a working fishing harbour and the street the hotel is on is lined with really fab local restaurants serving traditional Italian food and delicious fresh fish. I would recommend this hotel and probably stay here again if I fly in and out of Rome.
Review 67:No bar or cafe available when we arrived after the lunch period. Bit impersonal; staff business-like but not friendly.
Review 68:Location and facilities. Spotlessly clean. 2 requests dealt with promptly.
Review 69:The pool was a bit small and not enough sun beds. It is also s a shame that the superior rooms do not have twin bed accommodation.
Review 70:The location makes the hotel a very good option if you want to stay in Fiumicino. Close the all the eateries and the view of the river and ocean was really relaxing.
Review 71:Have to pay to use pool as a 5euro fee for swim cap and towel. Also another 5 euro to park in undercover parking.
Review 72:Nice rooms, and great location and outlook. Interesting town with great local seafood restaurants nearby.
Review 73:WIFI really poor; you have to wear a swimming cap in the pool, small beer at an exorbitant price of 5 euro
Review 74:rooms as expected, breakfast was the best of our stay in italy
Review 75:Tiny splash pool, tiny bedroom( not 19sqm) more like 12sqm. Poor breakfast: No fruit, packaged stuff, including baked. My husband could not eat scrambled eggs or pasta for dinner, and he loves pasta! Food is bland in the restaurant. Hallway smells of cheap plastic they have on the floor. Poor ventilation in the bathroom (hot)
Review 76:Aircon in the room works fine. Internet is working properly. Friendly staff. Close to airport
Review 77:in spite of having local tour option brochures on the front desk, the clerk was unable to assist me in finding a day trip.
Review 78:staff was helpful and accommodating, even when I arrived early.
Review 79:The WIFi was terrible. It's important to have good WiFi: theirs was not good at all .. intermittent and when connected very slow.
Review 80:Most everything was great.
Review 81:Beautiful fishing village. Lots of restaurants within walking distance but we chose the hotel restaurant and had a lovely dinner. The waitress was awesome. Very welcoming and smiling friendly. We chose Hotel Tiber because of its close proximity to the airport and away from the city and right by the sea. Very relaxing. Wonderful staff. Thank you to the man who made us a lovely lunch upstairs as the restaurant was closed for lunch in July. Also a beautiful hotel in itself.
Review 82:For an overnight before an early flight, can't be beat. Good choice of eateries close by, and we had a nice dinner at the hotel. Good shuttle service. Nice little pool on the roof. Not palatial or 5 star, but infinitely better than either of the airport Hiltons in every way.
Review 83:The airport shuttle cost 6 euro person. I thought it should have been included in the price of an airport hotel. Also, due to the terminal fire, the airport check in was pure mayhem for a flight to Canada. The staff at the hotel desk should inform people that they should be arriving at the terminal a minimum of 3 hours prior to departure for a transatlantic flight. They should also let people know that their terminal might be different from the one on their ticket due to the fire. I think that this is a fair expectation from a well-run airport hotel.
Review 84:Hotel Tiber is a beautiful hotel with a great view. Our room was a Superior Double with more than enough room for four people. We had two balconies and a gorgeous view of the water. We also enjoyed the pool.
Review 85:There was not enough staff on hand (only one person) at breakfast to handle the number of people. She was very nice but clearly not able to keep everyone happy.
Review 86:Great location within minutes of the airport. Super clean and very comfortable. Although we didn't use the pool, the rooftop location and views were really nice.
Review 87:Nothing to dislike, but yes they should provide some electric kettle and some tea preperation stuff in room, which was not available even upon request.
Review 88:Hotel staff was very friendly and speak english, very covenient airport shuttle service after every 30 mins.
Review 89:Set shuttle service times start at 6a but our flight left at 6a. However, desk assisted with getting a taxi not hotel fault seems like they use a outside company. Very helpful
Review 90:Although breakfast didn't start until 6a the night clerk offer us some fresh Brioche that just came in as we were checking out at 4am. Had two little ones so it helped a lot. Actually were the best crossants we had our whole vacation.
Review 91:The food is excellent (including the morning breakfast - which is free with your stay). Also the shuttle service to/from the airport. Great value and courteous staff... The nearby restaurants were delicious and the pool is wonderful...
Review 92:The hotel is located near the port and in a questionable area from safety. It does not look safe outside of the hotel.
Review 93:Staff was friendly and the building was in good shape.
Review 94:Well done to all staff especially breakfast girls who always had big smiles and friendly greetings. A huge thank you to Veronika who behaves very professionally.
Review 95:No fruit for breakfast...had to pay for bathing cap and towel to use the pool. Only one towel in our room for two people. No conditioner for your hair.
Review 96:Helpful staff. Good suggestions for restaurants. Great with directions. Had a packed breakfast for my daughter and me because we had a very early flight.
Review 97:I, being pregnant, wasn't happy that I couldn't control the temperature of the room easily. I was disappointed that we weren't given a different rate since we weren't able to take advantage of the breakfast that was included because of the rate we paid. Our plane required us to be at the airport at 5am.
Review 98:We liked the fact we were able to see the Med. We enjoyed dinner in the restaurant on site. Even though there is no easy way to access a beach, it was a nice stay.
Review 99:No iron or ironing facilities in house when requested.
Review 100:Shuttle service to Fuimicino Airport & location with great views of the fishing harbour and coast. Very new & clean!
Review 101:We stayed here as our last night before heading home from Sicily; it was clean and the staff was lovely as was the setting looking at the sea. We also ate at the restaurant which was very good and the service was wonderful! A very nice last night...and after the heat of Rome...it was wonderful!!!
Review 102:Wifi not the strongest in room.
Review 103:Very nice, modern hotel in great location. Staff very friendly and room modern and well equipped. Pool nice with comfortable loungers. Car park very handy too as town gets v busy on weekends.
Review 104:Would have loved help with the luggage, but it was very early in the morning, so I understand.
Review 105:Very new, immaculate, spartan decor but in good taste. Great place to stay when headed for the airport early the next day. Some good restaurants around, fun to watch the fisherman unload the catches and sell right on the pier. Very lovely view of sea and Tiber.
Review 106:The staff was not helpful. They either offered no information or gave misinformation. I think neither was intentional, they just looked clueless.
Review 107:The facility was new and clean and well equipped.
Review 108:Nothing, apart from a slightly dodgy shower bracket.
Review 109:Hotel environment, the excellent Staff, the excellent rooms and of course its position overlooking the working harbour. The fresh seafood and the views of the sea. Plus it is only 10 mins. drive from/to the airport.
Review 110:There wasn't anything to dislike!!
Review 111:Cldnt complain if i tried! Very clean place, beautiful place and views, food was lovely and staff were very kind and helpful! Would defitnately return and would recommend to anyone :)
Review 112:Nothing whatsoever with the hotel but we, or the satnav, had difficulty in finding the hotel but we eventually managed - it was probably us!
Review 113:The location of hotel and Fumencino town made a relaxing stay after the hectic driving standards we endured from Amalfi to the Rome area. Didn't feel like an "airport" hotel, more like a seaside resort hotel - absolutely lovely
Review 114:The meal at the restaurant - not very good. Steak chewy, fatty, not good value. staff were nice though.
Review 115:The location, close to the airport for travel the next day, yet coastal location - wonderful to watch the fishermen selling their fish fresh off their boats.
Review 116:Bed was so bad makes it hard to refer others to this property, however nice it was in other ways. I can usually sleep on anything but this bed was like concrete.
Review 117:Large rooms with Mediterranean views
Review 118:Location,location, 10mins from Terminal 1, bright new hotel with excellent facilities, including own shuttle. Fiumicino itself a great place for food and rest.
Review 119:There was nothing we didn't like.
Review 120:Location! Hotel was beautifully located just yards away from where the historic Tiber River spills into the Mediterranean. Good activities and ristorantes within walking distance.
Review 121:Great location near the airport but quiet, also by the sea with lots of restaurants within short walking distance, lots to see with the fishing boats bringing in their catch just accross the street. Roof top pool and bar, nice party Friday nights
Review 122:Nothing!!!
Review 123:We needed to spend the night near the airport, I searched on line and found this hidden gem on the water, the outside is beautiful with the marble, fountains and trees, inside the lobby it was spacious and welcoming. The front desk staff was courteous and helpful. I new the rooms were small and tastefully decorated. Beds were very comfortable and the stated "soundproofing" was true. The roof top pool, bar and breakfast room was so lovely, we enjoyed a glass of wine at night and a lovely breakfast in the morning, excellent cappuccino. Very pleased, highly recommend, ciao, e
Review 124:Shuttle to/from airport very pricey for the distance.
Review 125:Great location to the airport and very convenient to several good restaurants. Staff very helpful and friendly. Clean, comfortable rooms. We had to leave early for the airport and missed breakfast and the gentleman at the front desk gave me a bag of snacks and drinks to go.
Review 126:There is carnival/fair right in front of the hotel , so you'll hear all the annoying noises from there till midnight. If you are looking for peace and quiet after or before your flight this hotel is not your best option. Check in process did not go smoothly - key card did not work on the first try and we had to go back to reception and fix this issue. Hotel parking is not that easy to get to. We parked on the street first then asked reception where the parking entrance is located. At the parking entrance you have to get out of the car and call reception so they will open the gate. If reception is busy with other guests they won't respond immediately. We had to run back to reception and ask to open parking gates.
Review 127:Hotel is new, modern, clean, close to the airport and has parking
Review 128:Location was a tacky seaside area and the restaurants in the area were disappointing. The Taxi and shuttle service were pricey enough that you might as well stay closer to the Airport. We had an early morning flight and no shuttle service was available. Ideal is a hotel you can train or walk to.
Review 129:The Hotel and room were very clean and nice.
Review 130:Hotel Restaurant in the evening was expensive and the food was poor quality. Local restaurants in Fiumicino much better value and tasty food
Review 131:Comfortable and good sized bedrooms
Review 132:We would have used the pool but found the requirement for a hair cap very strange and having to pay to use the pool and the hair cap very odd. This probably explains why no one was using the pool.
Review 133:Cleanliness, location and friendly staff
Review 134:Hard to navigate with rental car because of unpredictable one way streets. Terrible wifi with very narrow bandwidth. Checking out can take a while if lots of people.
Review 135:Location, great shower and bath, ample hot water, good breakfast, beautiful swimming pool, superb view over harbour and sea, close to lots of fish restaurants, lovely sea breeze.
