Reviews for Hotel Villa Fiesole
Review 1:The bath is so narrow that it is impossible to have a shower without the shower curtain wrapping around you. Most unpleasant. A glass screen is required, but it will still be very narrow. Tile grouting needs a good scrub with bleach. You need a car at night if you want to eat in one of the restaurants in Fiesole town as it is a steep walk along the side of the road.
Review 2:Nice quiet room with some view to Florence. Breakfast selection was good. Good bus service into Florence.
Review 3:Little bit difficult to find the parking lot (once you got it its ok). The plugs - have a special one, so none of mine were good, had to ask a converter. ?? -make no sense to me-
Review 4:Loved the view from the rooms! Loved to wake up and see Florence
Review 5:Lovely old-worldly hotel - lots of charm and a great view. Breakfast was very good too and the staff were helpful and pleasant. Fifteen minutes on the bus takes you into Florence. Ample parking available. Altogether a positive stay
Review 6:The location is amazing and the views from my room was superb. You can see the whole of Florence. The staff were great everyone I encountered spoke English which was a great help and also they were very accommodating.
Review 7:We thought the older gentleman in dining area was delightful, but the young fellow was very slow...not good service at all...even when nobody else was in there and needing service! Especially for such an expensive hotel rated 4 stars...!
Review 8:The breakfasts were excellent! And I was pleased to be able to get an espresso earlier than the breakfast schedule!
Review 9:The washroom was a bit dated and needs a spruce up (the grout around the tub needs to be redone). The hairdryer was broken but the front desk quickly supplied a hand hairdryer. The bed was hard and uncomfortable with two small beds pushed together (creating a break in between). At times this foul odour would come up from the washroom. This may have been a sewage smell. Hopefully the Management will act on our feedback that we gave them when we were staying there with regards to the above.
Review 10:Location, location, location. The view is spectacular overlooking the City of Florence and the surrounding valley from the top of the Hill. The location is such that you can visit Pisa, Via Reggio, Siena and many other towns by driving 1 1/12 hours by cars. The bus is 1.20 euro's per person and it will takes you to Can Marco Square in the heart of Florence in 15 minutes. We had intention of using the train to visit different towns but we ended up driving. The view is priceless from the patio and property generally. The cuisine in the morning and in the evening were top notch in food quality and in service. The front desk was very helpful throughout our stay. We enjoyed quiet and peacefulness and were in a central spot to see many sites in and around Florence.
Review 11:Our particular room was on a noisy corner by the road. Italian breakfast mostly cakes
Review 12:Excellent spot for visiting Florence as the bus stops right outside. The hotel looks down on the city and you are away from the heat and noise of the city
Review 13:There are a lot of steps. There is a chairlift at one point but steps to get to that point. An elderly lady staying in the hotel was struggling. Nice to have a pool but photography is great. The pool, albeit clean and pleasant is very small with only 12 loungers so it is a case of luck as to whether you manage to get yourself a spot or not. We did but the hotel was not busy.
Review 14:Very pleasant stay. Great staff. We stayed one night at the beginning of our break then returned at the end. The first night was bought on booking site but when I said we may return they offered the same rate even though the hotel was busier. They also upgraded our room. Breakfast was very good. This review is based on the price we paid for the room. I do not think that the room is worth the full rack rate.
Review 15:The pictures of the pool on all booking sites are completely misleading. It is tiny and one cannot possibly swim in it. When I pointed that out to the reception staff, they casually responded that there was a picture on the internet so I should not be surprised. Not the kind of response you expect from staff at this type of establishment.
Review 16:The estate is pretty and there is a bus stop right next to the hotel
Review 17:The Location is not so good, because of the main road to Fiesole, is close up to the hotel. Surprisingly the swimmingpool was very small, and it does not show at the hotel-photos.
Review 18:The wieu, breakfast, and the room was fantastic.
Review 19:We found open complimentary beauty products (shower gels, soaps) in the bathroom.
Review 20:We have been kindly upgraded to a larger room, because we were traveling with our 2 years old
Review 21:Small pool but still great to have a pool!!
Review 22:Room with a view of Florence. Quiet and beautiful setting. Pool! Great breakfast! Excellent & friendly staff. Free internet. All of it!
Review 23:In contrast to the photos on the gallery two things are worthmentioning: it looks as if the rooms were all open to the court (and thepool) and you are even asked whether you prefer the ground-floor or thefirst floor. But as a matter of fact this applies only to the superiorclass of rooms (which name I unfortunately forgot). Consider booking oneof these rooms because you'll have a nice private little terasse (asshown on the photos). We booked the "basic" room (here again Iforgot the exact name). The rooms are then in an extra building and twoeven in the basement. Still clean, nice and charming but a little bitnoisy since located next to the street with lots of traffic). Second youhave to know that the pool is smaller than what you could guess on thephotos and a little bit off (not in the court as I thought when lookingat the photos). It's only 5x5m or so. Good to cool down but not forreal swimming.
Review 24:Fiesole is a perfect location for a Firenze-trip. The bus to downtownleaves in front of the hotel and takes about 15min. Means: you are notdowntown but therefore you can park your car easily (nearly impossibledowntown). The hotel is very clean, our room was huge and the staffvery friendly.
Review 25:Pool/lounge area was small. Not really a problem, but the lounge chairs were so close to the pool edge other guests were annoyed y our boys splashing around. Also, no bathrooms near pool...had to go through main lobby, up elevator, to restrooms on 2nd floor.
Review 26:Super-friendly, very helpful staff!
Review 27:A bit noisy at night as the road to Fiesole is very close.
Review 28:Loved the views over downtown Florence Easy transport option to Florence or Fiesole town on the No 7 bus. Breakfast on the balcony Helpful and friendly staff.
Review 29:The chance to relax after a few hectic days in Florence. A swim at the end of the day. Dinner on the hotel restaurant balcony, looking down on Florence as we watched the day fade from twilight to night, and the lights of Florence show the extent of the city.
Review 30:Taking a bus every time we wanted to go to Florence. On weekends the buses ran about every 20-25 minutes. It was more convenient to go to Fiesole which was 0.6 miles away but it is a very small town with limited number of restaurants.
Review 31:Away from the tourist crowds of Florence.
Review 32:Lumpy comforter. Time to change. And the entrance by foot from the road is harrowing especially with luggage. There is no sidewalk and then you have to contend with stairs and pebbles. I didn't see any other way in except via the parking lot. Also, noisy right off street.
Review 33:I loved that our room was in the actual villa and I was given, as requested, a room with a grand view of Florence. I loved the painting on the ceiling. The breakfast was very nice too.
Review 34:Hotel is situated on the noisy road. You can hardly see the beauty of Florence from all rooms or terrace. The photos on the booking are quite different from reality… Room is old, exhausted and non clean. Wi FI is not working at all…
Review 35:The food at the restaurant is not bad.
Review 36:The hotel is not easy to find - and you definitely need to have a car. Although the breakfast choices were very good, there is limited space in the breakfast area. There is seating outside but not good if the weather is inclement.
Review 37:There is a bus stop across from the hotel that takes you to Florence - very convenient and inexpensive. The hotel is on a hilltop and the views of Florence down below is great.
Review 38:Some noise from workers right outside our hotel room almost every morning at 8 AM. Seems like they were scraping paint off the wall, wich makes alot of noise. Could probably wait until guest are awake.
Review 39:Loved the location of the villa and the views of Florence. The deck outside was a perfect place to enjoy a drink after dinner and warch the sun set over the city. Short trip with bus or a 10-minute walk to scenic Fiesole. Great marked walking-route thru the forest right down the road for us who like hiking/running. Staff was helpful and polite.
Review 40:We were recommended this hotel by a friend so we knew it wasn't in the centre. We were advised that Florence can by a nightmare for driving in the centre and trying to park there more specifically, so we liked the look of this place as you have great views over the city and its a 20 minute bus ride in and the bus stop is right outside the hotel. All in all the hotel is lovely. Great food and really helpful staff. Would happily stay again
Review 41:breakfast was good during weekend but after in Monday breakfast was worse! Maybe because mostly people leaved..but anyway it wasn't pleasant
Review 42:Everything was good
Review 43:Some road noise. Bed rather firm.
Review 44:Peasant and helpful staff. Regular bus service into Florence close to Hotel with tickets available from reception. Good breakfast which is included in the price. Excellent view of Florence especially from Fiesole
Review 45:We like the hotel and the small rooms, but we did not like the not so clean bathrooms, missing bathrobes and the sticky bathroom door…as there are no anterooms you see through the doorcrack around the door the light of the corridor from the bed all night long…maybe installation of moving sensitive lightning or sealing of the doors against the light at night would help, simple but effective...
Review 46:We had a very nice stay, although the rooms are very small, they are comfortable and nicely furnished. The beds are perfect! A nice small hotel in nice surrounding.
Review 47:Hotel Fiesole was ideally situated for us, being convenient to the city but with a relaxed, suburban feel. The room near the pool was the most quiet hotel room we had ever stayed in! It felt like a garden terrace apartment.
Review 48:Our room was in the house separate from the main area and whilst quiet was a little dark. Try for one at the front with the view
Review 49:Enjoying the beautiful view of the valley from Fiesole down to Florence whilst sipping a glass of wine. Complimentary breakfast was also well catered .
Review 50:Large smelly dog in room next door and sharing the same corridor.
Review 51:View over Florence. Excellent frequent bus service to and from Florence. Very nice panoramic terraces.
Review 52:WiFi didn't work very well with my KindleFire (although it worked fine with my laptop)
Review 53:The view. The staff. The food. Easy access to Florence (quick bus ride) without the hassle of the city.
Review 54:The bathroom! a type of "wet room" with foldable shower screen, between the WC and basin. Floor got wet, not very safe. Badly designed, strange to find this in Italy!
Review 55:It was convenient for our purpose. Easy to get to Florence by bus. Good breakfast, smiling staff.
Review 56:Having stayed at this hotel many times over recent years we felt that the quality of service had slipped this year. The breakfast service especially was slow and poor.
Review 57:The location of Villa Fiesole is excellent, the views from the terrace are really beautiful. The addition of a solarium this year was a bonus as the pool area can be quite busy at times.
Review 58:Small pool which did not look very clean, old fashioned room with noisy door to adjacent room.
Review 59:Excellent reception staff, friendly but distant terrace staff.
Review 60:Air conditioning unit broke and water flooded the floor. Room was a bit dark. Poor hairdryer. Had a pool, but very small.
Review 61:Beautiful view from breakfast terrace, very nicely furnished, room big, bathroom great, breakfast excellent. Easy access to Fiesole and bus stop outside taking you to Florence.
Review 62:There was nothing to dislike, one guest was a little disappointed at the size of the swimming pool but we found it adequate for our needs.
Review 63:Visiting Florence this was an ideal location to stay, away from the heat and noise of the busy city centre. The Villa is situated right on the bus route with only a short twenty minute ride into the heart of the city. Public transport is very cheap and the buses run on a regular basis. Great views of the city from the restaurant terrace to compliment the cuisine.
Review 64:lack of sealant on shower screen leading to water leaking onto the floor
Review 65:views from our room in the old villa and the hotel terrace friendly and helpful staff good food and wine excellent breakfasts excellent air conditioning in our room décor in our room nicely appointed bathroom small pool with beautiful surroundings
Review 66:Nothing to complain
Review 67:1. Checking in - perfect 2. Location - above and overlooking Firenze - outstanding 3. Room - huge and feeling of being royaly 4. Restaurant - wonderful - superb service and good menu 5. Valet parking and free shuttle to Firenze 6. General service - Excellent with all the Italian charm
Review 68:Great location, great view!
Review 69:Very comfortable, clean and friendly, helpful staff!
Review 70:Extremely rude and incompetent staff

Review 85:Wifi was poor
Review 86:Very helpful staff and very pleasant accommodation
Review 87:Bus stop at front gate takes you into Fisole or Florence centre. Very convenient
Review 88:no view.. near road. smell of sewerage.

Review 90:I did like the combination of a perfect location up the hills of Fiesole with a very pleasant and comfortable room at a reasonable price
Review 91:Nothing was too much trouble
Review 92:Coffee
Review 93:Friendliness and quality of the place
Review 94:Florence and the views from the hotel. The ease of travel between the two.
Review 95:Lack of communication
Review 96:Location
Review 97:The breakfast and dinner was amazing... room stunning..service also excellent.. thoroughly enjoyed our stay only wished it was longer !
Review 98:Gorgeous view and breakfast
Review 99:Everything is fair with cost
Review 100:1.wonderful view in Fiesole 2.Very great cost performance 3.stuff was nice 4.breakfast also very good with champagne
Review 101:Pool area was shaded, service on the terrace was slow, beds not the most comfortable
Review 102:The tranquility of the location and the views
Review 103:Wifi very poor in the room Very small shower over bath
Review 104:Room, staff, location, bed!
Review 105:Swimming pool / solarium disappointing
Review 106:Comfortable room , full of character Stunning view of Florence Superb breakfast Very helpful staff
Review 107:a bit over priced without much of a view - not at all from our room and only partly from the terrace.
Review 108:Terrace Food Wine Large bed Sun deck Service and staff
Review 109:Pretty view, outside the busy city, ease of access to Florence by bus.
Review 110:Slightly over priced
Review 111:Helpful staff, good views
Review 112:Fabulous room fantastic view great restaurant and breakfast.
Review 113:Gravel courtyard and roller bags don't mix. Keep the gravel and add a walkway thru it.
Review 114:Great views. Close to Florence. Excellent dinner and breakfast.
Review 115:Poor attention to detail from a hotel resting on its laurels. Should be amazing but is only average: loud room, uncomfortable bed and given the price we expected just a little bit more.
Review 116:Stunning views over Florence, close enough to the city to visit easily but far enough out to have a relaxed feel. Having a glass of champagne on their terrace was beautiful.
Review 117:If you don't have a car then you could feel isolated. Taxis are expensive but there is a bus which can take you down to Florence or up to Fiesole. There are no pavements so it's too dangerous to walk anywhere.
Review 118:Daniele on Reception was the star of the show - incredibly helpful and efficient. Wonderful views of Florence from the hotel.
Review 119:Restaurant staff slow & maître d' snooty. Pool overheated, like getting into a bath, not refreshing. Not enough coathangers.
Review 120:Reception staff excellent & very helpful. Good bathroom, plenty of towels. Comfortable bed.
Review 121:Location was great, able to sit atop their veranda with cocktails and view Florence! 5 min walk to catch bus into Florence. Room was fabulous as we enjoyed the small suite, price was great and accommodations very clean, and comfortable. Staff was excellent and very helpful whenever we needed anything. Would definitely stay there again and will recommend it to anyone looking for a nice hotel when visiting Florence area.
Review 122:Road was a bit noisy, but easily shut out by double-glazed windows.
Review 123:View and position were fabulous; staff were helpful, professional, friendly and overall, excellent. Room was large and gorgeous. Sitting on the terrace with a caffe or spritz, overlooking Florence - beautiful! Other guests during my stay were particularly friendly too.
Review 124:No elevator, had to carry luggage upstairs, pool nothing to write about. Rooms on street are noisy but very nice room, lots of character.
Review 125:Views, the staff was above and beyond helpful. Breakfast very good. Large room, large bathroom, had a bathtub. Gorgeous ceilings.
