Reviews for Pension Pai Land
Review 1:Smoking inside and to be honest the reception area could be tidied up for guests.
Review 2:Tomo and her family were lovely and accommodating. I had three outstanding delicious authentic Japanese dinners with them for 1,000 yen - incredible deal. Great coffee and milk in the morning on the house. For what I paid this was the best deal!!!
Review 3:The equipment is very simple, old and a bit battered. It's a bit messy and not so clean compared to other pensions in Japan. Room service for us was only irregular (not every day).
Review 4:The pension has an excellent location in the middle of Ishigaki city where you find a lot of restaurants, shops and everything you need. It is close to the bus station and seaport so it's easy to make trips from here. It is run by a family that's very friendly. And not very expensive.
Review 5:Perfect location (5 mins to bus and port, close to good restaurants and shopping). Basic, clean, comfortable room with ac. Best of all was the family - they are such wonderful people and made me feel at home for the week. I will be back!
Review 6:Pai Land is the perfect hotel if you're planning a holiday in Ishigaki-jima. 5 minutes to the harbour where you can board ferries to all a the islands surrounding Ishigaki, and 5 minutes to the bus terminal where you can take buses and explore the main island. The hotel is located in the city center giving you a wide selection of places to shop, eat and drink. The staff is friendly and very welcoming and facilities are nice and clean.
Review 7:There are not enough words to describe the honesty, good will, helpfulness and warmheartedness of the host, Mrs. Tomo and all her family who's actually living on the premises and is willing to give necessary support on a 24/7. The rooms are relatively small but lovely. They are simple, very clean, and include everything required in top shape such as a/c, separate toilet with bath and shower with hot water, comfortable bed, wardrobe, drawer, even a mosquito repellent. The room is cleaned and arranged, and towels and toiletries are changed and replenished daily. If you're alone, you'll absolutely want to take the single room which offers a very comfy size. You might even want to consider that if you're a couple and willing to squeeze in one bed or use a tatami, as the twin room is more or less the same size. Don't be overwhelmed by the eclectic ground floor, where the office, kitchen and living room are - you're soon find yourself playing with one of the family's traditional Okinawan musical instrument, or invited for a dinner or at least a round of Awamori while using the free WiFi. (If nothing, seeing grandpa playing with his super-cute baby granddaughter will absolutely melt your heart :)) The overall atmosphere in Pailand is very homey and warm, and so it's my favorite stay in Ishigaki, even if my destination would be the north beach. Thank You Pailand - Absolutely Recommended!!!
Review 8:place looks a bit old
Review 9:The staff was very friendly and polite. The location of the hotel is in the city center with an easy access from the airport with a direct bus. The port terminal is also very close which make it convenient to travel to other islands nearby. There are also many shops and restaurants close to the hotel. The room and sanitary facilities were clean.
Review 10:No one was at the desk when we arrived. Room on the second floor doesn't block out sound from the first floor. Smoking Hair on the blankets Old room furniture and bath tub
Review 11:Friendly older woman who helped us check in Location to bus station and ferry terminal
Review 12:Place seemed a little old, definitely not luxury, but it wasn't expected anyway. No real complaints.
Review 13:Really close to the port so if you want to see the other islands, staying here makes it easy. The staff was great, they invited us to drink with them one night, and we received Okinawan doughnuts as a gift when we left. Bathroom was clean, A/C was strong. No complaints here
Review 14:No TV in the room. Had a few large tropical creepy crawly visitors on the final evening. Despite good cleanliness, the general state of the room was very shabby and in need of a paint job. The outside of the bathtub was broken and rusty, and the air vent was full of dust.
Review 15:The room was clean and comfortable with good air conditioning. Good central location near the ferry port and local shops and restaurants. Very gracious and hospitable hosts who tried their best with their limited English. Received a gift of homemade cakes upon check out.
Review 16:Owner is very friendly, helpful and kind!
Review 17:Facilities are old, only one bathroom on each floor, the air conditioner was not functioning well
Review 18:Location is convenient
Review 19:need to be clean
Review 20:fun
Review 21:Small family driven place in Ishigaki. Perfect for one night. Very friendly staff.
Review 22:Great staff with a great atmosphere. Very resourceful if you speak Japanese. Close to the bus terminal and harbor.
Review 23:excellent location friendly people
Review 24:Nothing! Excellent food, service and price.
Review 25:This family-run pension is so friendly and welcoming; I was treated like a family member! Always so helpful and kind almost to a fault. Will definitely stay again. Thank you Tomo-san!
Review 26:The entrance is trashy and unkempt. House slippers are worn out andshould be replaced. The entrance carpet should have been changed yearsago. In our room, no television was provided, and no servings of tea, asis common in every other Japanese Hotel we've stayed at. No ice isprovided. In the bath, the soap dispenser was out of soap. The wallswere dirty and badly in need of paint. Just plain dirty walls - not evena picture! The hallways were used to store abandoned furniture. Aminimal effort by the owners could greatly improve this hotel. Cheaperand better hotels are easily available. At least the beds were clean andcomfortable!!!
Review 27:The Japanese style western beds were fine, and the linens wereespecially clean and crisp! The air conditioner worked very well - yay!
Review 28:When you book budget accomodation, you know what you're probably in for. But cleanliness is not a matter of room rates - in six days our room was cleaned once (!), towels were provided practically only upon request. There is much better budget accomodation even in Ishigaki.
Review 29:This is a cute family-run pension. They don't speak English but helped my friend and me with all our questions. Dinner is also family-style and cheap so be sure to join in the fun. The bus station is about a 3 min walk and the ferry terminal about 5 min.
Review 30:The tatami of the tatami room is old. It is somewhat musty.
Review 31:A host family's hospitality is wonderful. Though simple, volume and originality of cooking are good. I want you to stay for consecutive nights by all means as a sightseeing base in Yaeyama Islands.
Review 32:Wifi is not good at room, but good at ground floor. Any other? None.
Review 33:Stuff is friendly, local family, and the place is so comfortable. Breakfast and dinner is amazingly good local food, and at midnight you will enjoy local music. Ishigaki island is one of the most relaxing place in Japan. And I am sure this pension would provide you such unforgettable memories. I'll be back!!
Review 34:The view is fantastic and the food is traditionnal and tasty!
Review 35:The hotel very dirty, stinked, dusted.
Review 36:have good location
Review 37:Very homely pension, familly super kind and charming, excellent cookingfood. In the top center of the town.
