Assisi Garden

Assisi Garden descritpion
Pretty Assisi Garden, once a monastery and now a little oasis of peace providing comfortable accommodations, is located just a 15 minute walk from historic central Assisi.
Surrounded by trees, olives and tall pines, this impressive property with its typical pink and white stone façade has recently been restored and offers a lounge bar, a traditional restaurant, private grounds and a large, free parking lot.
Located on the path followed by pilgrims towards the Basilica of San Francesco d'Assisi, the hotel is between the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli and the town. The well-equipped rooms have beautiful views of the ancient medieval buildings, the surrounding green plains or the basilica and most have their own private balconies.
A beautiful, quiet base for exploring Umbria, from the hotel buses run into Assisi itself and by car you can be in Perugia or Foligno in just 30 minutes or charming Spoleto in 40 minutes.

Reviews for Assisi Garden
Review 1:No wifi in room only in foyer.
Review 2:Beautiful accomodation. Friendly hosts, good breakfast. I would recommend at least two nights in Assisi as there is a lot to see and a lot of step climbing but this is the perfect place to retreat to for a rest. It is a ten minute walk up the pathway (quite steep) to the edge of the walled town. We didn't eat at the resturant but if we ever come back we will do as it looks lovely.
Review 3:Nothing
Review 4:First room had a problem with air conditioning. Within 10 minutes we got a new room with good air conitioning (and with better panorama). Quite and beautiful location in walking distance to Assisi Hystoric area.
Review 5:Advertised as having an onsite restaurant. However, the restaurant was only open if there were 'enough guest' who wanted food - i.e. it wasn't always open. This was slightly disappointing.
Review 6:Helpful staff, peaceful setting
Review 7:Wi-fi was only accessible in the lounge. Family rooms like a dorm...but very nice.
Review 8:The view was exquisite! Restaurant was really good. Very enjoyable meal. Location is perfect. Staff were superb!! Very accommodating and very nice and professional!
Review 9:The beds were very uncomfortable - seemed more like cots than beds. The location was hard to find and on the entrance is located on a parallel street rather than what's shown on the map. Especially difficult at night. No wifi in the room Very thin walls - you can hear all the noise from the hallway. During our stay, there was a large group of teens staying on our floor, and I heard them in the mornings and hanging out in the hallways at night.
Review 10:Great views from the location. It's not the cleanest or the newest (you can tell it's been around for a while) location. while they do offer free breakfast, the breads and pastries seemed old and stale. However, they have fruit, yogurt and other things to eat as well.
Review 11:very hard beds and staff checking in wanted to hold onto our passports. the internet didnt work and staff unresponsive about this. rooms very dated
Review 12:breakfast was good
Review 13:Nothing to complain about
Review 14:Perfect hospitality from reception staff, food home cooked freshly prepared in the kitchen, first class service with friendly staff.
Review 15:It's difficult to drive to the place. All car navigators can not guide you there. there are total 3 entrances and 2 of them are blocked by stone. I spent almost 2 hours to find this Asisi garden, finally I found it's a restaurant.
Review 16:1. Everything fine 2. Friendly staff 3. Play ground can make baby calm down. 4. extremely good food in their restaurant with average price. very satsfied.
Review 17:Assisi Garden is a beautiful little inn right by the entrance of the city center of Assisi, at the base of the mountain. With a very nice view of the beautiful countryside. The staff is very educated and helpful. The room we stayed was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast is also very good. While it doesn't have a very huge selection, everything available was well made. One of the best aspects, however, was dinner. While it must be purchased separately, not only was the food very good, but the price was affordable as well.
Review 18:Wi-Fi only works in the lobby and breakfast rooms. Ok in hotel room if you are close to either of the public areas.
Review 19:Easy walking distance to Assisi. Very helpful staff. Great breakfast.
Review 20:We stayed for one night so we had no time to explore the hotel. Something I didn't like is that the wifi only worked in the reception/restaurant are only!!!
Review 21:The front desk people are very friendly and helpfull. The waiting staff was good and even the food. The room was clean.
Review 22:Not so many choices for a balanced vegetarian diet for the breakfast. Not so easy to find, as the GPS I rented from the car rentals did not recognize the street.
Review 23:Spacious rooms, comfortable beds, it is only a short walk from the centre of Assisi in a beautiful setting.
Review 24:It takes 15 to 20 minutes to the city , on foot, but it is rather difficult because of the constant slope. So , just go to the city by car, the parking fee is 1,30 euros per hour.
Review 25:Nice place, excellent view from the window, open air area with play ground ,it gives the feeling of the country side, free parking.
Review 26:As so often, the coffee at breakfast was disappointing and the bread wasn't great but overall quite an adequate breakfast.
Review 27:Pleasant staff, comfortable spacious room with splendid view, very good evening meal and nice breakfast except for the coffee.
Review 28:breakfast was poor. It is difficult to find if you are driving there - no signs to the hotel,
Review 29:the location, free parking, free wi-fi, friendly staff, playground for kids
Review 30:Very small room. Nonexistent room facilities. Very poor wifi. In the breakfast i found MOLBY bread and they hadn't other bread to replace it. In breafast they offer us coffee but they didn't tell us that they charge it. Very dificult to find the location.
Review 31:NOTHING
Review 32:The restaurant was closed, because it was Monday (!?!) The interent connection was dreadfully slow and only worked near the reception. The staff were unhelpfull and spoke little English.
Review 33:The private (free) car park next to the hotel. Quite nice location, in the outskirts of Assisi.
Review 34:Absolutely no information in the room, couldn't find a bar, hotel given over to coach parties
Review 35:Location, room size, comfortable, parking, assistance from staff.
Review 36:Great location between old and new assisi. It's a walk up the hill to old Assisi, but you're in Assisi so what else do you expect. Room was quiet and clean and relaxing. My floor had a nice public balcony.
Review 37:Wifi should be extended to all rooms and not just be available at reception area.
Review 38:I booked a disabled room for three people. Room was nice and large and shower facilites was good. Breakfast was nice.
Review 39:The restaurant for dinner, the food was not if good standard, service was very poor with my salad arriving after I had finished eating. Breakfast was acceptable.
Review 40:We asked for room with balcony and were given room with huge terrace, made our stay there. Air co ditioning was great and view amazing, so peaceful.
Review 41:Best place i've ever been
Review 42:setting and location
Review 43:Poor breakfast and no restaurants/ bar when i was there.
Review 44:Good and worth the price for short stay
Review 45:Hotel comodo, tranquillo. Staff gentile e disponibile.
Review 46:No Wifi reception in rooms just in teception area downstairs
Review 47:Relaxing Place
Review 48:Comfortable & convenient Plenty of parking space
Review 49:A little too far out from the town, do need to have a caar
Review 50:Everything that I wanted.
Review 51:For us it was a good visit with nothing we did not like.
Review 52:Food is basic , but good and well priced. Friendly atmosphere. Staff very helpful.
Review 53:The free wi-fi is only in the common areas, and not very reliable.
Review 54:We like the free parking and relatively close to Assissi.
Review 55:Signs are not big enough to find location. Misleading as to location of hotel.
Review 56:I loved the VIEW!!! We had clear site to the entire hill! It was great the staff was also very kind and helpful!
Review 57:It was really great to feel silence in the hotel as well as in the town after living and traveling in big cities
Review 58:Fantastically situated, excellent price and great restaurant. Close to other areas of interest.
Review 59:Meals were just adequate, no bar
Review 60:Helpfulness of staff, comfortable rooms, good outdoor relaxing area
Review 61:Good location
Review 62:It is a little far from the city.
Review 63:The gardens and rooms
Review 64:Wonderful location with great views of Assisi and close enough to walk up the hill.
Review 65:Staff was very helpful and the breakfast was great!
Review 66:Excellent quiet location and value for money. Unlike others we thought the breakfast was great.
Review 67:Breakfast menu would benefit from some variety if staying more than a few days.
Review 68:Friendly staff. Very quiet location. A pleasant walk into Assisi
Review 69:Stuff and everything
Review 70:everything
Review 71:Mattress too firm
Review 72:Friendly staff Great location Great value
Review 73:Location, price, room was lovely, excellent shower. Excellent breakfast. Great parking.
Review 74:Children were screaming and playing in front of our room till midnight and till we complaint. Rooms just average.
Review 75:Spacious hotel, really close to Assisi (it.s realli easy to walk to the town). Big rooms, rich breakfast.
Review 76:room did not have any form of table or top.
Review 77:The hotel is very quite, and calm. facilities were to our expectation and value for money was exceptional.
Review 78:We had a lovely stay at Assisi Gardens!..the staff was friendly, very helpful, and provided a map of Assisi. There is a darling chapel on the main floor. Also, there is an outdoor patio to sit outside and soak up the beautiful countryside of Assisi. Our room had an amazing view of the basilica of St Francis. They also served a delicious breakfast with cappuccino every morning, which is included in the cost of the room. We had an amazing stay here--our favorite stop in our tour of Italy!!
Review 79:I can't really think of any. Well, there were no stores around it.
Review 80:I was very happy with this place. It is nicely located in between Assisi and the train station. It was a nice stroll. (Bus stops along the road if you want to avoid walking.) Most inexpensive places I stayed before had a horrible view. Assisi Garden was surrounded by the nature, creating very relaxing environment. Also, the hotel restaurant served very nice food (I had dinner and breakfast there). We chose a small room to save money, but it was comfortable. (Having A/C was definitely nice, too) Overall, it was a big bang for the buck.
Review 81:Nothing extremely interesting, but a good place to stay to explore Assisi. Parking is a great advantage, possibility to reach the city on foot - very good (about 10-15 minutes by nice pedestrian road, going slightly up); staying outside the city, packed of tourist - i would say is also an advantage...
Review 82:The breakfast was mediocre. The location is a bit out of the center, but with some good walking shoes, the walk is quite enjoyable.
Review 83:The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the hotel was fairly quiet, and the views are quite good. The hotel is certainly not fancy, but overall, it provided everything I needed and was a nice place to stay, especially since I spent most of my time touring around.
Review 84:Location wasn't as expected. Also we were expecting to be able to eat in the restaurant which us attached, but it was closed. I think it would be helpful to have this sort of information on the Booking.com website; it was the reason we chose the hotel.
Review 85:The views, the rooms, friendly staff, breakfast.
Review 86:When we booked on line we mentioned we would like to eat dinner at the hotel. We arrived later than expected but the dining room stayed open for us. Having two teenagers, nice to have privacy door between our rooms at one room price. Family friendly, trampoline, play area and gardens nice for younger children. Nice chapel for prayer.
Review 87:Room was pretty simple, small, almost spartan
Review 88:Excellent staff waited for us far after the official closing time (wegot lost) and were extremely kind
Review 89:There was not internet connection in the room. There hair dryer was a fixed to the wall but impossible to plug without outlet !!
Review 90:The surrounding area is nice, the hotel is located between the city and the train station and the main path.
Review 91:Very sweet and comfortable. Loved our room. My husband and I were traveling with our adult daughter so we requested a triple room. They put us in a room with two bedrooms. Perfect. Loved the on site Chapel. Very quant. We only stayed one night and wish it would have been longer. I'll definitely go back. Well hopefully!
Review 92:The feel of the hotel. Even though it was clean and had a playground forkids, it had an institutional feel about it. It could do with some rugsor color to warm it up
Review 93:The location was good, easy to reach Assisi centre either by car (to thecar park) or a short walk uphill. Hotel was clean and staff werehelpful. Breakfast was more international then other hotels
Review 94:Lovely staff and ambience. It felt great to be able to walk the uphill route to old Assisi - made an event each day of exploring the amazingly special ancient city. Beautiful natural setting, and the staff were charming and made a huge effort to ensure my stay was as great as could be..
Review 95:We rented a car and were able to visit other sights- Grotto di Frassasi- and other towns in the area- Orvieto and Civita di Bagnoregio- all worth a visit
Review 96:Minimal English spoken..great for trying my Italian
Review 97:Amazing room with view of duomo. AC was great staff lovely and very helpful. Looked things up on computer for me. A steep climb to town but lovely to not need to take car and find parking. Very safe parking Excellent food at good prices
Review 98:reception and restaurant (breakfast) staff inefficient and rude; breakfast very poor; air-conditioning not working properly; disco close to the hotel, bad music audible in the rooms at least until 1am
Review 99:location within easy walking or driving distance from Assisi; free parking; good-sized room
Review 100:Good hotel at a walking distance from the old town and churches. Quiet, clean, good facilities, good reastaurant, parking place at site. Good breakfast.
Review 101:May be understaffed during peak hours of the day.
Review 102:Convenient location from Assisi main points of interest. Free parking, free Wi-Fi and breakfast included. The hotel had plenty of activities for kids of all ages. Perfect for a quiet relaxing nights after a busy day around Assisi.
Review 103:The hotel has no character at all - it feels like a dead motel. This is fine if you just want somewhere to stay while you visit Assisi, but if you want to spend any time around the hotel, go soemwhere else. It is extremely difficult to find if you are driving there - it is hidden in small country lanes just below Assisi, but there are no signs to the hotel and the road it is on has no sign with a roadname. Although we had the map printed from booking.com, it took us an hour of driving in circles to find it.
Review 104:The only good thing about the hotel is it's location. It is an easy 20 minute walk up a pedestrian walkway into the heart of Assisi - very convenient.
Review 105:Television on when eating meals. A bit petty but that's all I could think of!
Review 106:Location, twenty minute walk to the center, constant slope. Price and good quality.
Review 107:We had a spacious and clean room with bathroom and a magnificent view to the San Francesco basilica. There was also a lovely loggia across from our room with a pretty view to the countryside to relax in with a drink in the evening. Staff were friendly and helpful. A good spot from which to visit Umbria.
Review 108:Situated outside the city of assisi. Great if travelling by car- 15 minutes walk to assisi. Staff were attentive and helpful. Hotel use to be a monastery so one would expect anything luxurious.- For us it was enough.
Review 109:Need better signage at main road to find hotel.
Review 110:The location to the center of town was excellent and within walking distance. Breakfast great and the red wine served with dinner super.
Review 111:Breakfast not so impressive; very standard in terms of types of products, no local specialties; some low-quality items if you include coffee, milk jams and pastries. It is not so good in an area well known for its gastronomic tradition
Review 112:Location; courtesy of the staff
Review 113:Beautiful inspiring hotel. Lovely views, excellent restaurant and breakfast. Located between the city and the foot of the hills and the older city above. Peaceful respite.
Review 114:A smaller hotel on the outskirts of Assisi provided off road parking. It was an uphill walk to the town which won't allow your car. Pleasant outlook to either the town or across the wide valley.
Review 115:This hotel caters for large groups who are sectioned off in their own area of the dining room. For individual diners, this meant sitting in what felt like a corridor. There was a lack of softening decor and well placed screens would have gone a long way to making this area feel more like a restaurant. It was a pity because the food and service were excellent. It would be inexpensive to make these improvements.
Review 116:Friendly and very efficient staff, clean facilities, food inc breakfast.
Review 117:The service for dinner was quite understaffed. The food was excellent; however, we had a long wait and not much communication explaining why. Also, when they did bring the food it was quite staged - cheese - DELAY - bread - DELAY - wine - so we didn't have everything in front of us all at the same time. bummer.
Review 118:Location. Views. Cleanliness. I would book again. THe food was awesome as well. The young girls who served the morning meal were energetic and kind and happy - unlike evening staff.
