Reviews for Hotel Chopin

Review 1:Perfect if you are looking for an one night accommodation near the airport. I wouldn't recommend the restaurant, too expensive for what it offers.

Review 2:The location was reasonable for access to the main rome airport. There air a few local places to eat within walking distance if you do not want to eat at the hotel. Shuttle to the airport is ok but a little over priced. Not a place to stay if you wish to visit rome city

Review 3:I think that the staff is full of wonderful, caring people. The owners are very special, friendly people who show appreciation and provide a great service to tourists. The hotel is marvelous, comfortable, convenient, and the food is fantastic. Flavia is quite a chef. I highly recommend staying there.

Review 4:The male receptionist when we checked in was rude, the young ones who replaced him were were nice and polite. We stayed at the annex which is located around the corner. The building was wide open with no staff present.

Review 5:The lady at the breakfast place was helpful. The room was clean.

Review 6:The bed was extremely uncomfortable (I don't know if this is true for all rooms though). very basic, a bit sleazy, not for leisure in any way.

Review 7:location near the airport, relatively easy to get there at night. There is a fine shuttle from the hotel to the airport (6euros).

Review 8:Location on the side of the highway to Rome Fiumicino airport, very noisy even if the rooms are well isolated.

Review 9:Close to the airport but shuttle is not free. Amazing place.....the most kitsch I have ever seen with the owners classic car collections and Chopin's time massive antique pieces in the middle of the dining areas....very nice and helpful man at the reception....

Review 10:Location wasn't great as there weren't many shops nearby so that could be a downside if u are looking for places to visit, you will need to catch trains or shuttle buses.

Review 11:Staff were brilliant, hotel was gorgeous they had amazing vintage cars, statues and ornaments. Room was very big, clean and the facilities provided was very good too. Breakfast was good too

Review 12:Bed was nice and clean Staff at breakfast was very, very polite and helpful also dilicious breakfast. Free wifi Problem only with shower getting blocked.

Review 13:We stayed here just one night, because Our flight arrived late at nightand only on the next day, could we pick up our rental car. Arriving atnight to this place is scary. The Hotel is a little dark, and with allthat old furniture and statues and old cars inside the hotel.. It'screepy. When entering the room, it look like an old canteen, with theflorescent squared lamps and squared plafond ceiling, old, with mold insome parts and some squares where broken. The douche has plasticcurtains, with some black spots. There was an electric connection nextto the douche. The bed was awful and luckily, after an examination forbedbugs, I only found 2 spiders. Breakfast... Well, I won't talkmuch about this, because there is just one word to define it...Horrible. And it was horrible served on plastic everything, plates, knife, cups.

Review 14:There was absolutely nothing to like. The location was probably the pluspoint of this hotel due to the proximity to the Fiumicino Airport.

Review 15:There is no swimming pool, despite what the website says. Breakfast was very poor. Hotel is near the airport, but otherwise nothing close to it. When we arrived on Sunday evening, there was no food. They directed us to a bar round the back which was full of smoke and had a very limited menu. We didn't eat.

Review 16:Room was clean and comfortable

Review 17:The room smelled like cigarrette smoke even when I requested a non-smoking room. The breakfast is really basic, and the hotel is a bit expensive for the type of hotel it is.

Review 18:I really like that they are really close to the airport. They have an effcient transportation to it, although they charge for it (just 6 euros, it's not that much).

Review 19:Hard to find hotel and entrance. A lot o noice, the hotel is close to a large road with a lot of traffic. Also in the room you could hear the neighbours talking etc. All of this made it hard to sleep. The elevator smelled really bad!

Review 20:Nothing but the free parking.

Review 21:Many details in the hotel speak of a lack of proper management. The attachment to the hotel is a perfect example of this (the non-functioning pool and whirlpool). In the main building, there are spots of dirt, loose parts in toilets, a lift that fails... Limitations to the buffet quantity and pricing of wine make little sense when compared to other hotels of the same category.

Review 22:I like the artistic objects spread around the property. Really charming. The closeness to the airport, while not being too far from Rome, is the major asset of this hotel. The management could do more to take advantage of it.

Review 23:Empty pool, bed, bathroom, location. Reviews didn't seem too bad, so we booked it, not sure who is reviewing but this place was a dump! The off site building was built around an abandoned, rusted sailboat. Not the staff's fault but rally races down the alley and the Italian womens' screaming contest must have been on the street's agenda until about 5 in the morning.

Review 24:Gave us a good laugh.

Review 25:When our group arrived the bedrooms were not ready. The staff was shuffling through what they had available. I reserved 3 rooms in the main building and upon my arrival they only had 2 available. The control remotes to the T.V and A/C did not have batteries. The staff was not cooperative and unfriendly. I rented a total of 11 rooms which they charged a deposit for yet I only used 10 rooms because it was unavailable. And a refund was not issued to me. Makes me question why there is an option for reservations yet this was not ready upon my arrival. I am very discontent with their services and I will never again book through this hotel. A refund should of been issued. Very poor quality and horrible service!

Review 26:Nothing.

Review 27:The Wi-Fi was a bit slow and would disconnect and reconnect repeatedly.

Review 28:The breakfast options were great ! The women who helped us check out on June 20th was extremely pleasant. We were able to leave our luggage at hotel free of cost even though we checked out. We had to see a few more attractions that day but were leaving later during the night way past check out time to go back to the airport. When we returned to collect our bags, the process was painless. The attendant at the time was very professional. That's what customer service is about! The shuttle to the airport was punctual too! The rooms were extremely spacious which is definitely a plus when traveling with a group of friends! I requested an extra bed and it was there when we got there! The shuttle to the airport is a convenient service.

Review 29:Location is not great, you'd better rent a car to stay here. Airport shuttle is expensive (might be free) and schedule is not very convenient.

Review 30:Close to airport - convenient for early flights. Very warm atmosphere and nice and attentive personnel. Good kitchen. Airport Shuttle.

Review 31:Mattress sagged in middle. AC didn't work and shower head broken in children's room. Some bugs crawling on floor.

Review 32:Location and free breakfast. Staff spoke English at check in.

Review 33:I reccomend organising a shuttle with the hotel, its easier and cheaper than haggling with the over priced taxis at the airport. Did come a bit late but the hotel is so close to the airport it was fine.

Review 34:24hr service desk. Prompt morning wake up call. Stayed for one night near the airport to ensure I would not miss my flight. Breakfast in morning was good.

Review 35:Nothing!

Review 36:Best hotel I've ever stayed at! Clean room, comfortable bed, good price, good location - close to the airport with good connections. Staff were absolutely wonderful, couldn't fault them what so ever. I wouldn't be lying if I said they were the kindest hotel staff I had in the whole months I'd been travelling around Europe. I'd had a really tough night, missed my flight & used the last of my money on a new flight & the hotel. The staff were so kind to me, completely turned my night around & made me feel so comfortable. Can't thank them enough. The only one thing I did notice was the Wi-Fi didn't work in my room, but that didn't particularly bother me that much. It does state in the description it works in some not all of the rooms. There are some really comfortable seats in the lobby where there is a good connection. Would definitely recommend this hotel! :-)

Review 37:Broken electrical sockets, which maybe dangerous for young children

Review 38:Quite near Fiumicino airport, good breakfast, quiet area although near a busy street.

Review 39:The bed sagged, there was no shower curtain in my room so taking a shower was a mess. It wasn't very clean. Just all around not worth it.

Review 40:Staff were friendly.

Review 41:Old and not taking care. The "pool" was not clean, very small and not taking care. The milk at break fast was expired and my kids amost got sick. The restaurant inside very expencive for the quality of food. Room big but dusty and the beds old. Lots of junk around.

Review 42:Nothing

Review 43:the staff were too bad,i think you need to think about it more they made problem about mony !! and we said you must send us email whats hapined and what the prpblem but no body answer !

Review 44:Every thing was clean and comfort

Review 45:The restaurant was closed on Sunday and the shuttle only runs after 1630 do I had to catch a cab was overcharged 30 EURO way too much. They have wi fi but it is slow

Review 46:The location not far from FCO..nice older design in quiet area.

Review 47:Close to the airport. Liked all the bits and bobs. Hotel has a lot of character.

Review 48:location

Review 49:Staff very courteous and helpful.

Review 50:It was close to the airport

Review 51:The rooms are not very clean

Review 52:I got bed bug bites from their beds ! So disgusting !

Review 53:the crazy collection of items around the hotel.

Review 54:No curtain in the bathroom.

Review 55:Hotel is very beautiful and close to the airport. Hotel is comfort and nice, service is excellent!

Review 56:Old gods

Review 57:Everything

Review 58:It really needed cleaning and updated.

Review 59:Close to airport and comfy bed.

Review 60:nothing,, rooms are not comfort, staff is not cooperative, location is

Review 61:Staff were incredibly kind and caring and such a cosey hotel. Really feels like a home

Review 62:nulla

Review 63:Too much noise around . . Long walk to rooms . .

Review 64:low quality bathroom

Review 65:- pretty noisy -

Review 66:- easy to reach by taxi/shuttle bus from the airport - friendly and competent staff

Review 67:Close to the airport

Review 68:Everything was excellent

Review 69:Nothing that i didn't like

Review 70:The unique things in the room beside the lobby (such as motorcycle and the fighter pilot's chair)

Review 71:Bad shower head, Small shower stall

Review 72:Friendly staff

Review 73:Travelling was a hassle, shuttle service is expensive

Review 74:Spacious family room

Review 75:Food, lack of soundproofing in rooms

Review 76:Only stayed for a stopover so location close to airport was the only reason for the stay

Review 77:The Spa Pool was not heated. I worried about snakes in the long grass

Review 78:Collection was great and having the Rumanian Restaurant ckose by was very good. Staff were generally friendly and helpful

Review 79:wifi didnt work in the room

Review 80:close to the airport and to the small italian town located by the sea where you can enjoy real pizza and shops with fair prices. Excellent for 1 night before departure. free parking is a big +

Review 81:Staff was not helpful in giving directions. The Internet had poor reception even in the lobby. The hotel is on a busy road, which was hard to cross to get to the bus stop.

Review 82:We could all stay in the same room. The room was clean and the breakfast was delicious.

Review 83:Our room had paper thin walls, we could hear everything from our neighbours. Ear Plugs were a must.

Review 84:The hotel is very eclectic with several antique motorcycles and plane parts. The staff were very friendly.

Review 85:No refrigerator in the room, and no curtain or door on the shower, so water went all over the floor. Not close to downtown, but with research, you can get to the main sights of Rome on local transportation. Pool was very small and unheated; no jacuzzi.

Review 86:Free wi-fi and breakfast were included. Shuttle was available and convenient.

Review 87:pool shut even though we were told twice that it would be open were told that we could check in early, but when we got there we couldn't

Review 88:quirky and interesting lovely room nice reasonable restaurant very nice breakfast

Review 89:Good location for easy transit out of Rome's Fiumicino - Leonardo da Vinci airport. Large room, unique breakfast area complete with airplane cockpit and vintage motorcycles! On-site restaurant with plentiful ice and 1.5 liter bottles of Coca-Cola. Believe me, this was a definite "plus" after 12 days of traveling in a humid heat wave!

Review 90:i want to use swimming pool at night with my girl friend

Review 91:room is very clear and the service is very good. and i think it is very good place for honey moon!

Review 92:We stayed a an annex some 120m away. The entrance door stayed open all night with no security. The matresses were well used with a depression in the middle, not confortable.

Review 93:For the two nights we were there it was all right. It is near the airport and Ostia Antica which we visited.

Review 94:Room smelled funny. Bedside table lamp didn't work. The desk clerkwas Unfriendly. The adjoining restaurant didn't start serving until7pm. We took a taxi to the nearby ruins by the advice of the desk clerk.20 euro each way for a 6 min ride. We were not informed that the ruinswere closed on Monday.

Review 95:A shuttle to the airport was available for 6 euro per person.

Review 96:Location was convenient to airport however the actual location of thehotel rooms were in a questionable neighborhood. The room was notlocated near the reception office. I would consider it more of an off-sight location within walking distance. The neighborhood as you walkedto your room was filled with trash and debris. The area outside of thehotel/rooms building looked deserted, the care abandoned. The roomsmelled of mold. Toilet paper dispenser was empty. Bed sunken in themiddle. Bathroom wood door was warped which prevented it from opening. This made the space between the bed and the bathroom appear tight.Making the space tighter than necessary.PS - I would NOT recommend the restaurant on the on the premises (only one within reasonable distance). The food was reasonably priced however the food ordered (two different pasta dishes) tasted similar and more like canned spaghetti. Stop for a nice meal before arriving, you will be disappointed.

Review 97:The receptionists were friendly and helpful We received our wake-upcall and taxi was called for us and arrived as scheduled/requestedin the am.

Review 98:Nothing comes to mind.

Review 99:The proximity to FCO airport, the fair price, the fact that it was pleasantly quirky and the fact that the adjacent restaurant served good 'trattoria' ttype food at very fair prices. Excellent value for money all round. I just need one night near the airport before heading to Abruzzo the next day, and I don't like homogenous airport hotels and the Chopin certainly isn't that!

Review 100:Controlling staff: our passport was taken at check in, and we were told, that it takes 20 minutes. It was strange already. After that, as wewalked down to eat, we saw two police man at the front desk. I found itvery unusual. We were the only guest arriving, with children. In therestaurant the choices were poor, mostly pork and beef. No fish orpoultry choices, not even pasta or pizza, considering it was in Rome,Italy. We left the restaurant, and decided to order a nice Italianpizza. We asked for some flyer, but we were told, what place we can onlyorder from, no brossure were provided, like in everywhere else. The"pizza" arrived, but it was a large pita bread, with grocerystore sliced ham, and the everything was mushy. Our nicely decoratedroom balcony faced an old, broken out window, worn out building. We wereto tired to leave that strange place, since our plain were leaving earlynext morning.

Review 101:We spent only a night to connect a flight. I liked the the museum stylefurniture and the comfortable room.

Review 102:We arrived to find the hotel had booked a film shoot and sent us to a room in a hotel around the corner. It was in a back lane, dark and unfriendly. Floor was damp, room damp and bathroom terrible.

Review 103:shower stall was VERYsmall. hotel shuttle does not run 24/7 we had to take a cab to the airport.

Review 104:the staff was very friendly, spoke English, very efficient, our wake up call was on time and they had the taxi waiting for us when we came down stairs.our room was upgraded.the décor was very quaint.hotel located close to airport.

Review 105:No tea/coffee making facilities in room

Review 106:Great location near airport. Good restaurant next door. Friendly helpful staff. Efficient service. Good breakfast and interesting display of old motor bikes.

Review 107:other quest and there inability to be Adults and succumb to others likes in the hotel, in short they didn't care that they keep us awake !! it was all about there adolescent ways of me, me, me!

Review 108:the staff was good , we had some problems, but they worked to fix with haste. thank you very much all of you for all that !

Review 109:The light in the toilet was switching with the movement sensor, it shutdown automatically after 10 seconds, so you had to move constantly whilein the shower which is not very convenient. Also there was no curtain inthe shower, so the water was all over the place.

Review 110:The hotel is located in Fiumicino which is rather convenient if youleave or arrive to the Fiumicino airport early in the morning or late atnight. It is furnished and decorated in retro style. The rooms arespacious clean. The staff is friendly and available round the clock. There's a very nice little restaurant next door to the hotel whereyou can have a delicious meal for a very budget-friendly price.

Review 111:Absolutely no facilities in rooms, no cups, glasses, cutlery etc. Restaurant next to hotel not part of hotel, no Visa accepted and food only ho hum. Pool very cold and not on the hotel site and no hot pool.

Review 112:Good free breakfast, staff spoke good English and very helpful. Rooms clean and I think good value for our family. A couple of things to note, catch a "local Fiumicino" cab from airport, outside tower building "D". Also small supermarket across road out front of hotel good for drinks and food incl dried meats and Cheese etc.

Review 113:after 2 weeks of staying at some nice places we were kind of disappointed

Review 114:close to the airport, and for a budget friendly hotel it was what one would expect.

Review 115:Room over 100 meters from reception Shuttle hard to find at FCO AND costs too much

Review 116:Close to airport Good restaurant adjacent Complimentary breakfast

Review 117:Big clean room, friendly helpful staff special mention to Emmanuelle,David,Franco(Nero),Valter & Juliano. Bus stops (Cotral 1.5euros)toFiumicino airport -> Vatican City(8euros return by Terravision coach-40 mins ride) and Ostia (Cotral 1.5euros) is just across the hotel butrequires careful crossing the dual carriageway. Buy bus tickets at thetobacco shop opposite the bus stop. Needs a bit of patience waiting ifyou miss the bus otherwise timetable is available. Hotel also offerstransport at a good price, we've tried it, before we found our wayto getting the buses. We enjoyed our 10 days stay and used most of thetransports available. Shuttle bus from airport (station17) to hotel 10min. Away is 6 euros pp.

Review 118:Needs shower curtain in bathroom otherwise perfect.

Review 119:Awesome value for money, we were upgraded to a triple room free ofcharge for our young daughter, good clean room, breakfast room has somebrilliant memorabilia , friendly staff. We stayed in the complex roughly100m away, very easy walk, train close by in Ostia to get to Rome, hotelexceeded expectations. Excellent base if you want to explore Rome.

Review 120:The hotel is very clean and next to the airport. A shuttle is avaliable every 45 min.

Review 121:Breakfast, no toaster, lad seemed unfriendly.

Review 122:Receptionist was extremely helpfull and pleasant.

Review 123:near the airport.

Review 124:very poor breakfast.... not fresh...

Review 125:stylish room

Review 126:Unbelievable decor which was truly ugly but good for many laughs

Review 127:Unfriendly staff. Rumors at maximum level from one room to another. This was my first time here and NEVER AGAIN!
