Reviews for Best Western Hotel Rome Airport
Review 1:Price of the shuttle of 6 EUR per person a little bit expensive if travelling in group ... Difficult to find a local taxi from the airport to the hotel ...
Review 2:Nice breakfast ...
Review 3:Even though the fee included breakfast for two persons, the hotel doesn't provide a breakfast pack in case of early check-outs. The hotel neither gave us a discount for that. Even worse, we had to pay extra fee for airport shuttle bus in both directions, arrival and departure (6€ for arrival and 8€ for departure / person). So you are warned about it :-)
Review 4:Modern, clean and comfy rooms
Review 5:The beds were not very comfortable, they were very stiff and left my back sore. The thermostat in the room was not working properly and we ended up turning off the heater and opening the windows in the evening to sleep because it was too hot in our room.
Review 6:The rooms are smaller than what I had expected, but they were comfortable enough for our stay. However, it was very clean, quiet and the staff was wonderful.
Review 7:Rooms somewhat run down, partly shabby furniture, unsavory stains on carpet and walls, malfunctioning air condition.
Review 8:Appealing reception area, very friendly and professional staff.
Review 9:It was hot and no ice in ice machines. No place to get a quick bite for breakfast or light dinner after traveling all day and into night. Not adequate restaurant services.
Review 10:The front desk staff was fabulous at getting us oriented to Rome and helping us locate the correct transportation to our destinations.
Review 11:no bad experience but it is a bit noisy, but then it is an airport hotel
Review 12:all the staff were friendly and cheerful and if you go to the front of the hotel, turn left and walk about 10 mins go past a bridge and there are some quite nice restaurants on a little fishing harbour, a nice break from a hotel room and a bit of exercise
Review 13:Booked queen bed,but did'n't add a second person so they charged 30E more for the second person. In the States it doesn't change the price. What can you do?
Review 14:The shuttle to the airport and into Rome were not free as advertised. Also, the shuttle to Rome only runs twice a day, which was not clear either. Also, being next to the airport and located in a neighborhood there was a great deal of noise from planes taking off, as well as dogs barking.
Review 15:The room was clean and the breakfast had extensive options.
Review 16:We stayed here because of its proxmity to the airport. This is a great hotel for that, but it's quite pricey. Clean, good amenities, good location.
Review 17:Quick check in. Clean rooms. The staff helped us coordinate getting into the center of Rome as well as getting to the airport. They were excellent. The buffet breakfast was very good as well.
Review 18:I asked for a sm0king room [possible according ti Booking.com site] - all rooms are no smoking [it is possible to amoke in the balcony]. The restaurants is expensive.
Review 19:The shuttle from the airport to the hotel does the last run at 10pm and if your flight arrives to Rome after 8:30pm between the time it takes you to pass immigration and to get your luggage you will probably miss it. Shuttle should service until 11pm at least.
Review 20:Perfect hotel for an overnight stay near the airport. Very nice and helpful staff, clean and comfortable beds, free wifi, and a shuttle that runs to the airport every 15 minutes. Breakfast starts at 7.
Review 21:You need to pay extra for the shuttle and the bathroom was a bit claustrophobic
Review 22:Located near the airport and has a great breakfast buffet included in the room price
Review 23:The rug in our room was disgraceful !! It was so dirty that I dare not walk on it without my shoes. The hallway leading to room was dark and dreary and the room was small. I requested a double bed and got a room with twin beds. Lighting was poor. Room was far from appealing.
Review 24:Cllose to airport since we were flying out next morning to US, staff pleasant and helpful, shuttle bus convenient , dinner in restaurant was very good and wait staff friendly
Review 25:Beds where to hard. Confusing to get to airport from hotel by car. Local signs not clear
Review 26:Staff was helpful. Hotel was clean. Room service was very good
Review 27:I think it was a little "cheasy" to charge to use the scale for the suitcase weight in the lobby when we paid a very fair rate for the hotel stay. Furthermore there were no change meters in the hotel to get change to use the scale. The staff at the desk did not have any change?? ( no 1 euro coins??) That is not very good service. Thankfully another traveler had change.
Review 28:facilities were ok. Breakfast was very good.
Review 29:Airport shuttle was a bit full and over loaded even though we booked it. Handy for airport but expensive, also need to factor in shuttle costs and bed tax as end result would mean a five star plus cost but certainly not that standard.
Review 30:Restaurant food was good although a little pricey when including the drinks.
Review 31:Very small room, nothing to do with the nice pictures of your presentation! My strong impression, while checking-in, was being a second class customer! "you made you reservation thru booking.com " so your BW card can't be used...You should have booked thru BW website... " extra small room...
Review 32:The breakfast was ok and the room was clean.
Review 33:There were no shuttle to pick me up , it only runs up till 2215! My flight was late , and everything was closed at the airport , when finally I found a phone to call them I was told to take a taxi and it cost me 30 euros !
Review 34:Although not bothersome it's on the flight line to one of Fiumicino's runways. As with most Italian hotels, there are no wash cloths.
Review 35:Clean, good sized room. Available transportation to airport. Great restaurant.
Review 36:Airplanes overhead due to proximity to airport were a little loud.
Review 37:Like an American hotel! We were in an updated room with a huge shower, comfy bed, and lots of space.
Review 38:Dinner at restaurant was average
Review 39:Clean, comfortable hotel near airport, front desk staff accomodated our request for room on first floor where we could park our car directly in front of room.
Review 40:Very close to the airport and thus a great option for early flights as the hotel also offers shuttle service all day. Friendly staff and easy in-and-out service.
Review 41:location is right under flight path of landing airplanes, lots of noise. Little of the used side about 30 minute drive to Rome
Review 42:Friendly staff, good food best wi fi in italy Nice size rooms
Review 43:The beds were very hard and breakfast was awful.
Review 44:The room was very small and the beds were very hard. The breakfast wasn't very nice it seemed to be very Americanised food with very dark orange colour (artificial looking) scrambled eggs. Yuk. The reception staff were friendly and responded to our needs.
Review 45:1.the carpet is very very dirty which I didn't feel very comfortable staying in the room. I saw some red dots on the carpet which looks disgusting. 2. The shuttle bus from the airport to the hotel only runs till 10pm and if you take taxi they charge you about 20 euro. 3. I couldn't close the curtains because They are not the right size for the big windows.
Review 46:It's easy to get to the airport with early morning shuttle bus.
Review 47:You must read the fine print. They charge for the shuttle service, which increases the cost of the stay. How one is expected to get to the hotel without using the shuttle is beyond me! In any case, if I have to spend overnight at Fiumucino again I will take this cost into account when comparing prices with other hotels to which one can walk from the terminal and avoid the shuttle. In addition to the charge for the shuttle, it does not run to the hotel from the airport that often, so one can be stuck waiting for quite a while, especially annoying after a long flight.
Review 48:Decent airport hotel.
Review 49:If you arrive at a time, where no shuttle service is available, you are doomed. No taxi will bring you to the hotel for less than 30 Euros, because they are not interested in short distances.
Review 50:Nice staff
Review 51:The air conditioner was not performing well, Have to change a room. Charged us 18 euro for the shuttle bus which seems higher than taxi, 3.5km, one way.
Review 52:The location is closed to the airport and good for the transfer. Have an outdoor swim pool which is clean. The Wi-Fi is good. The restaurant is good but the service is quite slow.
Review 53:we booked a triple room and were brought to a double one. The room was super dirty (cigaret buts on the floor that our baby tried to eat), very small, very expensive. We had two plates of carbonara pastas, 18 euros EACH, honestly the worst pasta I had in my whole life... Worst hotel experience you could have
Review 54:closest hotel from the airport
Review 55:The cost of the taxi fare from the airport was too much. 20Euro for a 10 min ride. We couldn't find the airport shuttle. Return was good though.
Review 56:The pool was a nice area but we never had enough time to spend there. Also liked the tea making facilities.
Review 57:The shuttle service only starts at 5:00, which may not be early enoughfor early flights. This is not the hotel's fault but the local taxiservice charged me 20 eur the 2.5 Km ride to fco airport, which is wayoverpriced (a fair amount would have been 10 Eur). This may indicatethat the locals may be taking advantage of tourists and you may have toconsider this when booking.
Review 58:Very convenient location. Friendly staff. Excellent gym.
Review 59:I have no complaints
Review 60:The location is well suited for an overnight and back to the airport - either by taxi (circa 20EUR) or using the hotel shuttle if the time table suits (6EUR). Ostia Antica is only 8kms away (hotel rents bicycles) - Rome city centre is 50/60EUR by taxi or metro from airport. The gym at the hotel is functional. The pool area is clean and towels are provided. The staff are excellent and friendly. The food is good. The Wifi is faultless. Fiumicino village - take a left out of hotel and walk 1.5k has bars, restaurants and a long marina for walking / jogging enthusiasts. Plenty of local shops and so on for what you need. Highly recommended.
Review 61:No bad experience had.
Review 62:Great location close to airport. I'm a gym fanatic so this place had it's own gymnasium which was great. The restaurant was great. B'fast was great. Everything about this place was just great.
Review 63:There was a marvelous included breakfast (adored the coffee/cappuccino machine and the fabulous croissants especially) and good dinner options. There was an exceptionally helpful staff!
Review 64:Refrigerator didn't work. Clerk said it could not be fixed until the next day and we could not be moved. Morning clerk said we could have been moved and kept asking why we weren't. The AC stopped working in the middle of the night. Very uncomfortable night. Left for early morning flight with little sleep and no breakfast because it wasn't served until 7 AM. Morning clerk acted like it was our fault that we were not moved to another room but finally took 10 Euros off of room price after 20 minutes of discussion. Not very friendly for traveler's.
Review 65:Good Bed
Review 66:No shuttle when I arrived at noon so I had to take a taxi despite phoning ahead from UK & being told the shuttle runs all day....maybe because I was a solo traveller staying only one night?
Review 67:Great security. The pool as it was very hot in June Free WiFi was excellent. Breakfast was excellent.
Review 68:The hotel is nice and clean. Very close to Fiumicino airport. It is reasonably quiet. Has a good restaurant. Good Wi-Fi, maybe a bit slow in the evening as everybody is using it, but still good for general working (emails, skype, etc.). A special mention to Mr. Pierino of the breakfast bar. A person worth meeting during your stay. Very friendly and very funny!
Review 69:The bathroom was extrememly small and for a very tall man this was rather tricky.
Review 70:The hotel was very close to the airport which is exactly what we required. We had dinner in the restaurant which was delicious and the service was friendly and prompt.
Review 71:Shuttle service was inadequate. Air conditioning unit was poor quality. Rooms are cramped.
Review 72:The croissants are alright. The pool area was adequate. The breakfast service staff Peroni was very welcoming.
Review 73:Nothing.
Review 74:We stayed three nights and went into Rome each day on the shuttle bus. Roberto the bus driver deserves a special mention for his excellent manner and service. Location was good for us as we did not want to drive into Rome. There are cafes nearby and hotel has a nice restaurant. Breakfast was an excellent buffet and the breakfast staff very helpful with the manager being an excellent host. All the staff were very helpful.
Review 75:Bathroom was tiny; carpet in room could use an updating.
Review 76:The check in area was modern and the process was efficient. Inexpensive shuttle to/from the airport. Room was comfortable and extremely quiet.
Review 77:The entrance to my room was right off the sidewalk which didn't feel, totally comfortable, but turned out to be fine.
Review 78:My priority was a good hotel near the airport for one night. This hotel worked for that purpose. It was clean, staff were accommodating, the restaurant was fine and there was a reasonably priced shuttle to the airport.
Review 79:At the end of a two week adventure, it was just what we needed. Reliable shuttle, restaurant on site for dinner and breakfast, pool and pleasant outdoor seating condusive to relaxation. Husband liked the shower! Rarity. Nice staff.
Review 80:The rooms were very small and the shower was so narrow that I could not bend to wash my feet. The air conditioning was poor on the lowest setting and you could hear everything in the hall and the adjoining rooms. The restaurant was ok but there were small spiders on the wall behind me.
Review 81:The proximity to the airport was great but the neighborhood was sketchy
Review 82:Light bulbs had to be unscrewed due to faulty wiring of the light sockets - very strange experience
Review 83:The staff at the check-in desk was great and exceptionally friendly and professional.
Review 84:Room rate was expensive for quality of hotel. Front office staff were hopeless - ignored my initial request to book the (overpriced) shuttle when I checkled in. I then booked the shuttle from my room. Showed up next morning to take the shuttle and no booking! The only reason they get away with this poor and overpriced shuttle service is because the taxi fares from the airport are outrageous.
Review 85:Good size room, comfortable bed, excellent en-suite. Restaurant had good value and selection. Handy location to airport.
Review 86:Breakfast was not included and was expensive for what it was. Hotel bus is nice, but stops in multi places on its route.
Review 87:Comfortable,serviceable place to spend thenight before an early flight out of Rome. Pretty good restaurant,v nice staff. Has parking, too.
Review 88:It's a comfortable hotel for an overnight stay if you're between flights. Good value shuttle bus to/from the airport every 45 minutes costs $6. Pierino in the breakfast cafe makes a very good coffee
Review 89:Absolutely no soundproofing of the windows. I could hear a dog bark on the street. And when the aircrafts took off it felt 100% as if your bed was take-off runway. It was scary not to mention the inconvenience. Also the shuttle bus was 7 minutes late. I know that it's not the hotel's service but should think of partnering with someone more reliable and punctual.
Review 90:Nice design of the room, good bed and pillows, welcoming staff.
Review 91:Difficulty of finding any local taxis at Fiumicino late in the evening for the short journey to the hotel. Rome-based cabs weren't interested in a short ride and cheap fare. Did not stay long enough to find out full the facilities, so difficult to comment.
Review 92:Convenient location near Fiumicino airport.
Review 93:The room had a nasty smell, the hallways were dimly lit and the elevator light was out. Not a nice place to bring my family.
Review 94:It was close to the airport and it had a small grassy area and a pool for kids to play.
Review 95:Have already reviewed so not sure why I have been asked to do it again.
Review 96:Roberta at Reception and the staff at the restaurant. Handy for the airport and good to be by the sea.
Review 97:Strangest bathroom configuration I have seen. Industrial area, nothing to see. Surprised that Bookings.com room did not include breakfast.
Review 98:Convenient to the airport
Review 99:shower head was too big for shower stall I felt like the late night airpllanes were landing in my room--ear plugs were provided but only one pair.
Review 100:This hotel was within 10 mins at most of the airport, easy to find and close enough to Fiumicino for us to walk into town.
Review 101:The hotel is not in walking distance to anything interesting and the shuttle does not run from the airport that often.
Review 102:The hotel is fine, nice room, clean etc, and it is a short shuttle ride to the airport.
Review 103:That my early flight left before I could partake of their wonderful breakfast!
Review 104:Desk staff upon arrival was wonderful, fast, easy registration for tired customer (me), and upon departure at 05:00, the same, excellent service, simple quick, for what more could you ask? Room was spotless, comfortable, and all I needed...... Great value compared to Euro 280 for nearby hotels at the airport....! Shuttle bus to FCA starts at 0500 sharp!
Review 105:We stayed too nights, the first night it was really cold in the room. The next day it was perfect. They charge separately for the TV channels.
Review 106:The restaurant was the best, excellent breakfast, dinner and very kind people. Try spaghetti with clams, it is great! It is an amazing place if you want to stay near Fumicino airport.
Review 107:Taxis try to cheat always in Fiumincino, like this time. It would be good to have fixed rate or clearly use the taxi meter.
Review 108:Modern, close to the airport. Reception staff was competent and helpfull.
Review 109:shuttle extremely poor and expensive. 6 euro per drive, collects and drives people and "friends" to different location. So if you are in a hurry take into account up to 20 min to get to the airport. The hotel it self is spread over 3 buildings. In one you sleep then you walk outside to reception then you walk outside to restaurant. Not convinient
Review 110:staff tries their best
Review 111:Poor Breakfast No shuttle bus after 10.30 pm A bit too pricey for a simple airport hotel
Review 112:Location Rooms Free Wifi (not common in Italy) The staff very friendly and helpful. Free printing and PC available.
Review 113:The hotel was to be none smoking, but the room had a very strong smoke smell!
Review 114:The staff were very helpful, especially with helping us as we had our laptop stolen earlier and they assisted us with our airline boarding passes, etc.
Review 115:Airport staff saying no Shuttle Buses at 20.45 ! Taxi drivers wanting 20 - 35 euros for 3.5 km distance ( ! ) ( Take the Shuttle instead ! ) Wi difficult to open ( unable to corrent check-in date, so didn't ever Connect ! )
Review 116:Room, comfort, food and People Shuttle bus to / from airport morning and evening for only 6 euros per person. Also transport into central Rome for daytime visits.
Review 117:Not clear how to get the shuttle from the airport to the hotel; schedule not reasonable (learned later after checked in), made me take a taxi from the airport to the hotel which cost me E$25, for such a close distance. I also learned at the hotel that taxi from the premises to central Rome would cost me around E$68, which is much more than the E$48 standard fee charged from the airport to anywhere downtown. Considering a round trip this would make a real difference. Another downside was the shower, just steaming hot water, no blending. Impossible to shower. Had to call maintenance which did not solve the problem. Will not take risk staying there again, much better if I had take the taxi and stayed at a hotel downtown Rome.
Review 118:Proximity to Leonardo da Vinci Airport
Review 119:I ate fish at the restaurant on the premises and came back with traveler's stomach problems. I have just finished a second course of antibiotics with 2 trips to the Dr. The second antibiotic was $175.00 for a 3 day course.
Review 120:On our second stay, hotel was near flight path for landing planes. Air traffic can be heavy at certain time of the day. However, it never stopped me from getting a good night's sleep.
Review 121:Stayed at hotel at the beginning and end of our vacation to connect with our flights. 1.5 miles from airport. Comfortable rooms, good wi-fi, good restaurant for dinner. The breakfast buffet include in our rate was fantastic. Very nice staff both for dinner and breakfast. 10 to 15 casual walk to town of Fiumicino.
Review 122:We picked this based on reviews. Unbelievable. The room was old and the rug was ripped. It smelled like they put down tons of air freshener to eliminate smells. The air conditioning did not work and twice we asked for assistance and finally we asked to be moved. But they told us it was working. We just gave up. We couldn't sleep until the planes stopped going over directly our heads. Later I read about the shuttle to the hotel...in the reviews -- the hotel doesn't tell you anything. I mean really -- if you go do try to find space 26 in that airport. It's not easy but otherwise you will get ripped off by a cab...
Review 123:Not much...for the price it was pretty expensive....I was looking forward to a nice stay after a week of traveling in Italy...
Review 124:A bit of a shock to be awakened at 0600 by a jumbo jet landing just 200 odd feet above my room
Review 125:Staff friendly, excellent bar & restaurant and safe parking area
Review 126:Room size: quite small, especially for 3 adultes and their 3 suit cases.
Review 127:Hotel is located on a quiet area, with the possibility of a shuttle service to the airport. Staff is very professional and gracious. Breakfast is excellent.
Review 128:Not the most scenic of areas.
Review 129:Staff were really friendly and efficient, we arrived at 9 am after 2 long haul flights from NZ, we were in our room by 10 am without having to pay any extra for early check in. Hotel was really quiet at night despite being so close to airport. Good restaurant on site, which served an excellent buffet breakfast, plus others a few minutes walk away.
Review 130:We were misled by the evening staff about the cost of the airport shuttle. The early shuttles are 8 Euros per person rather than 6 after 6 a.m. The desk clerk wanted to charge us the 8 euros despite the fact that we had been told 6. With 5 people travelling together it would have been cheaper to take a taxi. In addition, we were anxious about the shuttle departure time since we had a flight at 6:20 a.m. When I asked him to call the driver since the shuttle was not there at 5 he refused but did not explain that the driver was right there gelling his hair in the ladies washroom (while ladies in our party could not use the washroom while the driver was doing his grooming). Totally unacceptable customer service!
Review 131:Location is fine
Review 132:The corridors to the rooms were poorly lit making it rather eerie. The placement of the commode and shower cubicle in the washroom should have been better spaced.
Review 133:The hotel room was comfortable and had all the required facilities. The staff at the reception desk and at the restaurant were very friendly and helpful. We would like to make special mention of Cinzia, Andrea at the reception desk and Pierino at the restaurant for their personalized and courteous service.
Review 134:The room was nicely appointed and very clean. A very good shower. The breakfast was outstanding with a variety of every imaginable breakfast item including home made pastries. A courteous restaurant staff with Pietro the manager making sure everything was satisfactory. A ten minute shuttle ride to the airport made it very convenient.
Review 135:unfortunately even that I booked no smoking room I got room with specific cigarettes smell!!!
Review 136:- location is perfect, - really liked waiter Pierino who is making great atmosphere during breakfast!!! Fantastic guy
Review 137:nothing to note
Review 138:location, breakfast, quiet room (an airport hotel that was quiet), comfortable & clean Over all very pleased Struggled a bit to locate hotel shuttle, it could be me. Make sure you know where and when the shuttle runs from FCO --- 6 euros and worth it
The Fine Print
The restaurant is closed for lunch on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The airport shuttle runs every 45 minutes from 4 pm until 10 pm, and doesn't need to be booked in advance. Exiting Airport Terminal 3, turn right and walk for 500 feet along Via Agello until you reach the shuttle bus terminal number 26. Hotel staff have more details on timetables and prices. All shuttles come for an extra fee.
