Reviews for Dormy Inn Gifu Ekimae
Review 1:The facilities were excellent especially the onsen with 3 pools and sauna. Hotel is new, clean, serve free drink/coffee at lobby and they provide good shaver, tooth brush, comb etc. The hotel is very near to the train station and you can see the beautiful Gifu night view at Forty Three building which is just opposite of the hotel.
Review 2:the only thing i wasn't so thrilled with was the fact that there was no restaurant for evening meals. i probably misread the information and there are hundreds of eateries within 5 min walk toward and parallel with the main street.
Review 3:freindly staff who tried very hard to please and assist in any way they could. i speak no Japanese and they made every effort to help. The Japanese bath was excellent and everything is provided right down to cotton buds, tooth brushes, razors everything. the breakfast is very comprehensive and plentiful. rooms are small but very modern and clean. the hotel is 5 min easy walk from Gifu JR station and a little further to town center. you can rent a bike for 100 yen by the station and this is a good way to get up to the river and castle.
Review 4:Smallish beds (compared to Super Hotels) Non-connecting rooms Room layout doesn't make best use of space
Review 5:Location very convenient for train, buses
Review 6:Staff get very nervous when dealing with foreign clientele (like me!) I want tell them to chill out; it's not that big a deal to have foreign customers... it is a hotel, after all!
Review 7:Excellent indoor/outdoor Onsen bath. Wear your provided pajamas throughout the hotel to go to the Onsen and to eat breakfast. Excellent buffet breakfast. On-site massage service from 5pm - Midnight Late-night noodle bar (Free!)
Review 8:Very convenient to JR station, easy flat walk from station to Hotel 2nd floor. Staff very pleasant. Room small but reasonable size for Japan. Very nice onsen with excellent sauna. Very good breakfast.
Review 9:First of all, this place although tiny, is designed to maximize theefficiency. It's got everything that any business hotel should have, and I surprisingly didn't feel claustrophobic in it.The building and hotel itself is very new, that helps. Bed is like any other Japanese hotels, quite a bit firmer than what North American hotels have. If you have large luggages, there's still a bit of walk to go to the hotel, and there are elevators on the way there, so don't despair. Lobby is on the 6th floor, and your stay usually comes with free use to the public onsen. I didn't use it but my friend was happy with it.
Review 10:Double bed is not that big and pillow is really really hard
Review 11:Their service is excellent, room is not big but clean and confortable, onsen is for free with increditable water
Review 12:Convenient stores and restaurants not around hotel
Review 13:The staffs were helpful and polite. The location is just 8 mins walk from Gifu station and 80% sheltered with no stairs needed.
Review 14:1.There must be an English news channel. Shower area must be spacious as a 175 cm tall person feel difficulty while taking a bath.
Review 15:Mostly everything
Review 16:Despite there being a free public onsen, there was no bath in the room, just a shower.
Review 17:Nice breakfast, good location, clean rooms, public onsens and nice public seating areas with reading materials.
Review 18:Wrong Chinese name from booking.com. Wrong location in GPS. Wrong detail in Google website and wrong location in Google map (both English & Japanese) version. Tried to call the hotel but not able to help in English. Finally staff in convenience store helped us to talk to hotel and figure out the detail. Hotel claimed they have changed the location without updating all the internet information. This spent us over an hour more to find the hotel and miss the night show plan. Staff were trying to avoid all the issues.
Review 19:The onsen (spring bath) is good.

Review 49:Breakfast is until 8:45 only. We've booked double but bed was quitesmall (I'd say size of semidouble - maybe we've been given thewrong room?). But it's a small 'issue' - we had a good sleepanyway -onsen works like magic.
