Reviews for Austria Trend Hotel Ananas Wien

Review 1:There is no electric hot water. And we need to put a deposit for that kind of thing. Normally it is already set in the hotel. There is no amenities inside the hotel.

Review 2:The location of hotel is strategic. Closed to public transportation

Review 3:the door to the toilet in the room is a sliding door and it does not provide any privacy (since it is not soundproof at all); we had troubles connecting wi-fi in the room sometimes; however, if one manages to connect, it works pretty stable

Review 4:the location is excellent - right near to u-bahn station; the cheapest descent offer close to the city centre; a lot of restaurants around; breakfast is good.

Review 5:Great lociation, just two metro stops to the city center and the metro is in front of the hotel. Great value for the money, nice room with very comfortable bed!

Review 6:Poor breakfasts (just one type of eggs, fruit mix and some cheese and ham, müsli, also too crowdy - around 9:30 was hard to find a place)

Review 7:Great staff, perfect location - just few meters to station

Review 8:-Wifi was really bad in the room -I understand bottled water in Europe aren't free but there were only 2 bottles of water and nothing else in the refrigerator so it lead me to think they were free (in other hotels they would actually be many things in the minibar/fridge). However, they were not and quiet pricey as well. They should have mentioned it somewhere at least.

Review 9:Location was really good

Review 10:glass door in the bathroom (doesn't close - highly uncomfortable) quite tight shower cabin needs some refurbishment (especially corridors) breakfast could be better

Review 11:TV channels didn't really work, the AC system made a squeaky sound when turned to the max.

Review 12:Everything was as expected and a little more over. Great price, great staff, great rooms. Would definitely repeat the experience again.

Review 13:Poor facilities, old interior, but good it was clean. No robes, no slippers, no cotton sticks etc. in the bathroom. Zero English Chanel's on tv, only austrian.I think the hotel was overpriced!!!

Review 14:Good location, very close to metro station, two stations to the center streets. 20 min walking from the railway station. Not bad breakfast, but nothing special.

Review 15:The staff recepion was a little bit arrogant and did not seem intersted to our stay. But for me is not a relevant problem.

Review 16:Wonderful position just in front of the Metro station ! Good position with many shops just around the corner.

Review 17:Very nice hotel, breakfast very useful and everything was good. Stuff, they are friendly and open to help you with any problems. Good location of hotel:)

Review 18:there's no electrical kettle in the room - so after long city walk in the cold weather you don't have an option to drink hot tea or coffee

Review 19:Good location, only few subway stops from the center; good staff; for few days breakfast is ok

Review 20:The bathroom's door is the most unpractical I have ever seen. It is a glass door which doesn't isolate at all the bath from the rest of the room. You don't feel comfortable in the bath because every "noise" you make is heard in the room, the same with smels, steam from the shower etc. But a better door could make a good difference.

Review 21:I believe the hotel provides breakfast to many tour companies and this makes the lobby and breakfast area extremely crowded. The lobby also smelt slightly of cigarette smoke. The hotel just seemed a little beat up, for example the scuff marks on the floors and walls in the room. Also, there is no wifi in the rooms and while I knew this when booking the hotel, it seems very odd that this isn't available, especially for such a large hotel. Lastly, the bed was very firm.

Review 22:The location of the hotel is perfect. There is a metro station across the street so there is easy access to everything. The staff were all very helpful. The local area also provides many options for meals and shopping.

Review 23:Shower a bit small, many loud and impolite guests, both at breakfast as well as during checkinn. checkout etc.

Review 24:Perfect location; easy to reach Vienna places Clean hotel, bed ok. Breakfast excellent

Review 25:Small room, no slippers even if you ask, ac doesnt work even after one time repairing, so happy we stayed just for two nights

Review 26:Just the location is good

Review 27:Staff were very rude and not taking care of anyone, from the parkingvallet to the reception staff and the breakfast staff. The room wasdirty and there was no soap, we asked to be fixed, we went for a walk, came back after 1,5 hours and there was no change. Hotel Managerdidn't want to speak to us, a guy from reception tried to help onthe second request, but apparently the cleaning staff was already home,we were told! It was 11:00 pm and this is not possible to happen in anetwork hotel. Will definitely not come back to this place

Review 28:We could hear everything in the adjoining rooms! The holder for the shower head was broken, so we had to hold the nozzle during the entire shower, which was not very comfortable. The scrambled egg in a glass served at the breakfast buffet was tasteless and dry.

Review 29:The accommodations were meticulously clean. The breakfast was ample and tasted fine. The underground was only a few steps away; how wonderful!

Review 30:Bathroom had a sliding glass door with no ventilation or window inside, and it didn't shut down properly. The breakfast is good but we never set on a clean table. Lack of waiters.

Review 31:Location is perfect, very close to the city center, one minute away from the Pilgramgasse subway station which is 2 stops away from the Karlplatz. Friendly stuff. Ok for the money we paid.

Review 32:Although a genius customer of booking.com, I couldn't take advantage of this facility, and even at normal check-in time one of the room was not ready. No toiletries, not even shower cap, not acceptable for a 4* hotel. Heating system not strong enough, it was cold during the night.

Review 33:Good wifi. Alright for breakfast.

Review 34:THe hotel has a perfect location, very close to the centre (1,5 km) and metro stop right in front of the hotel ( metro U4 - pilgramgasse). Also very clean.

Review 35:Nothing

Review 36:Location, just two train stops away from the centre and station was opposite the hotel. Nice comfy rooms, quiet, very helpful staff who provided maps for you and to finish off excellent breakfast in the morning.

Review 37:They gave us a room, then we had to move to another at 11 o'clock at night. They apologized, but we were very tired and it was not a pleasure. Breakfast identical! eight days to eat the same omelette is to much....

Review 38:The location right next to the subway station Pilgramgasse, very clean, good beds

Review 39:The rooms are big and very clean The hotel is by the underground. We booked B&B and we enjoyed good food and fresh coffee .On the last day they made brakefast in bixes as we checked out early

Review 40:Hotel is marked as 4* but if I compare with other 4* hotels there are some things missing : in the room there are no small shower hair gels, only two big bottles placed on the wall ( 3* hotel thing), minibar ( only 2 bottles of watter, nothing else, again sound of 3* and I don't understand why in this case cc taken as a guarantee), no other things in the room as had to be in 4* hotel. Also, several times asked to check AC in the room - was bit cold in the room but nothing changed.

Review 41:Very clean, fast Internet, friendly personal, room service on high level, good breakfast, location of the hotel just perfect,5 min, and you are in the center of town, by subway)

Review 42:It's not a bad experience as such but the hotel clearly mainly caters for mass tourism. We mistakenly used the tourist breakfast room on our first day and it was pretty basic (no tables laid, we had to ask for decaf coffee, croissants were a strange consistancy a large buffet to negotiate.) However the next day we found the "Executive " breakfast room which was much better. We prefer smaller hotels.

Review 43:Location right by Pilgramgasse station was very convenient. Good rates by Viennese standards for the standard of the room

Review 44:Good value for the money we paid. Good location, walking distance to center, train station very near to hotel so you can go fast all over the city. If you are used with good hotels dont go to this hotel. it is a hotel where you dont spend too much time in.

Review 45:Internet did not work at all (even complaining, they don't give ashit) Exhauster did not work Smelly room Very small dishes in breakfastAwful bathroom

Review 46:Very well located

Review 47:WiFi didn't work at all Housekeeping lady was too noisy before 08:00 on Sunday morning and woke me up wrongly :(

Review 48:Location is perfect - just a few steps outside U4 Pilgrimgasse stop; Breakfast organisation Staff at reception (nice trainees)

Review 49:Some rooms have English Channel on TV and some do not. Air worked sometimes and sometimes not. Electricity went out for about 5 hours so no AC,light, Internet or recharging of phones.

Review 50:When Internet and AC worked, and when we had English TV all was really nice. Go early to breakfast in order to get good fruit etc... They do not refill when food gone.

Review 51:The air conditioning was on and off which was really annoying. An electric kettle in the room would have been nice.

Review 52:The location was great, the staff helpful and the rooms clean. The breakfast buffet offered a good choice.

Review 53:Luckily, the hotel was *right* next to the U-Bahn, which made getting around easy. It isn't in the center of city but it is easy to get around anyway.

Review 54:The hotel was incredibly luxurious and comfortable given the reasonable price I paid. The bed was incredibly comfortable! A great place to come home to every day.

Review 55:Central location well connected with public transport, close to the underground station which is at 100m to hotel. Vienna's main attractions, Stefanplatz Cathedral and Hofburg Pallace, can be reached by foot, 15-20 min. Rich breakfast, friendly staff. Good value for money.

Review 56:Poor room quoality, booked businees class room, was given economy one. When I mention it to a staff in a reception, was told that all the business rooms is the ones like we had. However busines room that we booked looked different to the one we were given at the arrival. Poor customer service. .

Review 57:The deal breaker for us was that the toilet door was made of glass, it didnt close at all and you could hear everything, not giving any privacy at all. Wifi didnt reach the whole room.

Review 58:Location is very good, lobby and personnel was nice.

Review 59:Rooms were very small and breakfast was not included. Wifi did not work in the room.

Review 60:Rooms were clean and the hotel was right next to a subway station.

Review 61:The view was not so good , there was a tall building in the opposite of hotel in the view .

Review 62:the location of the hotel was really good for me , the close train station help you to access easily to all part of city.

Review 63:this hotel was much nicer than the price would lead you to expect! The bathroom was a generous size and the shower pressure was just amazing! The beds were very comfortable and the metro station just across the road made this such a convenient place to stay. The staff were very helpful and gave us some good advice and suggestions for our stay in Vienna. Would definitely stay here again, or at another Austria Trend hotel.

Review 64:A small remark would be just on the cleanliness, on this category of hotel I would expect something even better.

Review 65:Great location, next to metro and on walking distance from the city center. Really friendly staff.

Review 66:Had to change keycards 3 times during 1 week. Cards are obviously VERY sensitive to your mobile-phone. Boring breakfast at low price - but you get value for money in the nearby cafees/bakery.

Review 67:VERY nice beds and great location next to a U-bahn station.

Review 68:WORST breakfast ever. Not at all representative for a 4 star hotel. NO WIFI that worked , we booked a executive floor room and I was not able to work at all. The employees didn´t take the wifi problem serious at all. Our whole trip was ruined.Really out of date and un stylish.

Review 69:I would say that 2 of the employees was really nice and service minded.

Review 70:- Wi Fi - One room twice toilet problem - No TV channel in English. None! - View (back rooms) - We reserved and given an Executive room (costs more) but room was identical to 2 other classic rooms we reserved!!! - Some of the clerks at front desk

Review 71:Location Bed Breakfast Restaurant service Some of the clerks at front desk

Review 72:Very poor breakfast (the worst I had in Austria so far). Low selection(disgusting fried eggs were the sole hot dish), bad quality (E.G. breadand ham were surely not fresh). Climate in the breakfast room similar toa busy railway station. Not worth any surcharge, there are plenty ofbreakfast possibilities around. Internet access not in all rooms. Therewas not a wifi signal in my first room, but the reception changed theroom for me willingly. It was quite ok in the new room, however, theconnection fell down also there several times. No “small facilities”expected in 4* room (toiletries, pencil + piece of paper, …)

Review 73:Location just opposite the underground station. Shops and foodpossibilities nearby. Nice and quite large rooms (double/twin),fridge, safe.

Review 74:Absolutely atrocious WiFi, hardly ever works in the rooms, if at all, unhelpful staff, rudimentary German and/or English language. Buiness services work off 20 year old decrepit Microsoft computers and no longer supported Windows XP!

Review 75:Clean, excellent location, basic but functional breakfast with only scrambled eggs as a hot dish

Review 76:We stayed two night in this hotel. The hotel was excellent. The hotel is situated in a very good location. It's a 10 meters from the metro until the hotel. We would book again and recommend this hotel to friends.

Review 77:Can`t think of anything wrong.

Review 78:We had a renovated room a bit small but sweet and clean including a nice bathroom with tub and lots of hot water. Location is 2 stops from the center of the city-Karlsplatz with the U4 Metro system but i recommend that you walk there, so that you also visit Naschmarkt .Spar Market nearby, bakery nearby. Nice breakfast, tasty with good variety and fresh fruit.

Review 79:Breakfast is quite limited, no English breakfast. The room we stayed in definately needs painting. We didn't like the mobile glass door of the bathroom. Parking is pricy.

Review 80:The hotel is well located, with own parking. Rooms are ok, bed confortable, funrniture ok. Cleaning is done everyday. Not an outstanding 4 star hotel.

Review 81:Floor lamp is not working. Cleaner didn't clean the floor dust on second night. Wifi sucks!

Review 82:convenient location. Good C/P. The price is matching the service they provide.

Review 83:The dismal view of the blank wall of an adjacent building. Maybe the room could find better use as storage facility.

Review 84:The hotel's location, room had a safe, wifi, excellent breakfast buffet.

Review 85:Executive room in the 8th floor really tiny. Poor wifi in room (but stable in lobby). Broken piano in lobby. Average breakfast,

Review 86:Perfect location Excellent bed

Review 87:Poor breakfast (as for 4* hotel). Wireless internet signal was not reachable in the whole room, only near window or door (5th floor)

Review 88:Good location, metro station is across the street. Friendly staff.

Review 89:We spent 4 days in the Hotel, we asked for earlier check in (11:00) and later check out (14:00) and pleasant staff (especially regards to great Ivo receptionist) ensure us it, free of charge. Prices in caffe are fair too. Beds were really comfortable ensure us nice sleep and good rest. The Hotel has good location too: metro station, Line U4, is 50m away, so good connection with city center, Shenbrun complex. airport and other lines are ensured. Also, in surrounding you can find Billa market, bakery, cafe with brunch servicing, restaurants, cafe for smokers (not so nice, but good for smokers), DM and BIPA etc. So, I think enough positive comments to confirm my recommendation for the hotel.

Review 90:shower doors don't close firmly so water leaks to floor

Review 91:clean room clean bathroom location (just at Pilgramgasse u-bahn station) personnel - helpful and speaks english free water in fridge

Review 92:No amenities in the rooms. Small rooms. Depressing for a 4* hotel. It's more like a clean and confy 3* hotel. During my stay was very crowded and it was February (when Vienna is not very popular for tourism). Big tourists groups are being accomodated in this hotel and it is unpleasant to find all the time the hotel lobby full of people and luggage. The bathroom is very, very small, in some 2* hotels you find better bathrooms. Only shower, no bathtube. And the shower cabin is very tinny, you bearly have enough space to move in it. The bathroom doesn't have more than 4sq metters, maybe less. No slippers.

Review 93:The rooms are clean, parquet floor, refurbised in 2014 (even though, the rooms don't look so bright, they look quite modest for a 4* hotel). Location of the hotel is fine (15min walking to Mariahilfestrasse, the Pilgramgasse subway station is in front of the hotel). If you want a clean hotel in Vienna, for a price of 60-70 EUR per night (superior room) is fine. If you are paying more for it, it looks quite expensive for what it delivers. Staff very helpful. Free non-alcoholic drinks minibar in superior room. Confortable matress. Bathrobes delivered in superior rooms.

Review 94:horrible smell on the 6th floor corridor when we arrived. Poor wifi on the 6th floor. The cleaning lady didn't pass the vacuum on our 2nd day. Hair are everywhere espy in the bathroom.

Review 95:In front of metro, near groceries, restaurants, they gave us triple room instead of double room.

Review 96:Breakfast-poor for a 4* hotel Lobby all style Bar all style Very small bathroom Expensive for the facilities it offers

Review 97:Location-exactly opposite metro sation

Review 98:The cleaning staff wasn't so effective, especially with the toilet, and one year ago that i was travelling solo, most likely a member from the staff was calling to the rooms ex racting information on behalf of a "servey" having as a prize an hour of massage. When i was told i won, but i was late for the time they had indicated me and asked the reception desk, they told me there is no such service!! Two girls, cotravellers, confessed they had a dark-colored guy paying them a visit holding something like a massage oil, and after calling the reception they told them the next time they bother them to call them again. Very important negative for such a hotel i believe...

Review 99:The breakfast was rich, the facilities are modern and it is at an excellent location

Review 100:reception staff was awfull Underground parking is 19 eur Two close from the center to be expensive but still the ubahn is 2.5 per person so it best to stay far away

Review 101:One lady from the restaurant was very kind

Review 102:Worn and soft mattresses, hard pilows. Small sized double bed in "executive" room. WiFi malfunktion in room.Dont take room 701 - close to starway door, bangs at night and early morning.

Review 103:Room and bathroom perfectly clean. Direct at the U-Bahn station + close to city centre. Good breakfast. Own garage.

Review 104:The room is not as large as expected for a four star hotel. This hotel looks like a three star hotel. The wireless internet doesn"t work properly. In fact, there is a very bad internet conection.

Review 105:The hotel is near the metro station. The breakfast is good, with some bio food.

Review 106:From 10PM till next day 8AM...not too much, but ....somehow appeared to be aged a bit. ( good 20 year ago I was there, times elapsed.)

Review 107:As mentioned, good location. Helpfull front desk . Fair internet price. Really fine bed!!!

Review 108:I did not like the breakfast no variation it was the same scrambled eggs every morning and the eggs did not look like fresh eggs scrambled it looked like powered egg. And the fruit no fresh fruit it was tin fruit every single morning the same mix tin fruit (very bad).

Review 109:I liked the location of the hotel and the rooms were not bad

Review 110:The hotel has many bus loads of passengers arriving throughout the day, leading to 800 of the 1000 rooms being occupied. Staff could not cope with the volume of people using the dining rooms at breakfast. The coffee machines constantly ran out of beans and cups were in short supply. Only one word could describe the dining room......it was utter CHAOS! We asked for extra pillows and had to put the pillows cases on ourselves. I asked for an iron, which duly arrived, but NO ironing board.....so I ironed on the bed. The bathroom was very small and cramped. This hotel definitely does not rate 4 star!

Review 111:Check-in staff were friendly. Location was good.

Review 112:non-smoking room reeked of smoke and had cigarette burns on the bedside tables, staff polite but not very helpful regarding the problem; stale bread offered for breakfast and cooked breakfast only on extra charge

Review 113:good view from the 8th floor, fairly central, very close to a tube station, staff polite, room recently renovated, garage easily accessable, breakfast served in a separate room away from the crowd; reasonable prices at the restaurant

Review 114:Everything was perfect! Great place to stay in Vienna! Beautiful and clean room! Great hotel stuff, warm reception (especially Alberto who was very kind and helpful), perfect location (close to metro station and bike rent station, also very close to the center of the town). Ideal!

Review 115:The hotel room TV does not provide English speaking channels (e.g., CNN, BBC, etc.). Neither are there any French, Italian, etc. channels. German and Austrian channels only; I wonder what other international tourists staying in the hotel thought about this.

Review 116:The hotel location and friendly staff.

Review 117:The underground (subway) station is very near, easy to reach the city center

Review 118:A bit noisy from outside the room

Review 119:Very neat and comfortable room and excellent location

Review 120:Metro really closer

Review 121:Parking is a very big problem. There is no reservation on this site, but when you come there they told you that there is no place.

Review 122:Location

Review 123:Internet connection very poor, very poor, very poor, for a 3 starts hotel!

Review 124:Everything good, except the wifi. It was terrible!

Review 125:Perfect location right next to metro station

Review 126:Parking-I paid for two days, when I came back first day,I couldn't find the place to park

Review 127:Hotel is rated at 4 stars. But, it looks like a 3 stars. For instance, no water heater or sleepers were available in the room.

Review 128:Location and staff.

Review 129:Excellent breakfast Excellent location

Review 130:Wifi had problems

Review 131:Clean, nice breakfast, helpful reception.
