Reviews for Hotel Petit Royal
Review 1:Avoid Petit Royale if you could. Staff tried to charge us 200 EUR instead of 150 EUR that we've commited to on Booking.com website stating that it was a different room that was advertised on booking.com from what they have currently available. We've booked the room on the site at that same time whilst we were arguing with the staff that they were trying to overcharge us. They were offering 4 of us to take one room instead and pay 75 EUR per couple otherwise we had to pay first 100 each couple, then 89 euro each, then 1 room for 4 was retailing at 145. Finally they did charge us 150 after we stated that we would complain and that we had a proof that 150 was the price that's being shown on the web site. I was really wound up at the end and whats aggravated situation the fact that they told us that we can't park at the hotel's car park territory as that would cost extra 15 EUR, because all free spots were already taken. Hence I had to back track from the hotel yard. The route was uphill, and led to a narrow street. I was exhausted from all the fighting with staff and damaged the rear bumper and a tail light as the stone wall on the street was uneven, as soon as I've gave it a bit more gas trying to climb back to the street. Hence stay from 150 EURO turned out to be the priciest night out of our two weeks trip.
Review 2:The fact that we could check in at 23:30 after one of our hotels got cancelled.
Review 3:very old hotel, awful smell old, small and inconvenient lift one of two reception men speaks very poor english and is not friendly at all
Review 4:one of two reception men was nice good breakfast nice dining area staff great view
Review 5:We had requested a sea view and got one from our third floor room. This hotel had a really nice old-world charm to it. Built in the19th centuary, no doubt it catered for the wealthy in those days and old framed photos around the hotel bore this out.
Review 6:The second room we had was a double and fairly small.
Review 7:Location close to the centre of Ospedaletti and close to the beach is very good. Everything can be reached on foot. The hotel manager was very friendly and attentive. The triple room we had was very spacious, with balcony and sea view. We could park our two cars right in front of the hotel. The drive way to the hotel is very narrow but manageable. The hotel and its facilities are fairly old, while still in okay working condition. This provides for a unique atmosphere.
