Reviews for L'Orto Di Panza
Review 1:Could not have picked a better place for our first trip to Tuscany! The entire staff was so warm and inviting that we felt like family for our entire stay. Great suggestions from Elena for day trips and Sandra helped w last minute dinner reservations on a Saturday night. Breakfast was amazing everyday w local delicacies and jump-starting coffee!
Review 2:Where to begin about this lovely place! It is family run, and hosts Elena and Sandra were wonderful - friendly, helpful and accommodating. These sisters-in law are both chefs and operate this inn as well as a restaurant, La Botte Piena, in nearby Montefollonico. Breakfast at L'Orto di Panza (included!) is fantastic - a gorgeous, abundant spread of traditional Italian sweets (the torta di nonna is outstanding), and savories (pecorino cheese, olives, cheese pie), and fruit juices, cappuccino, latte, espresso. The place is perfectly located for exploring the wineries and medieval hilltop villages of Tuscany, has gorgeous views of Montepulciano (a 10 minute drive) and beautiful, spacious, clean rooms and bathrooms, with big fluffy towels (warmed on a heated towel rack). There is also a huge swimming pool (we were visiting in October so did not use). Our friends who are from Rome joined us here for a night and loved it as well. We can't say enough and plan to return!
Review 3:Everything was amazing!!!! Sandra is the kindest person who is the most amazing cook! Her breakfast creations were out of this world. She also helped us out of a very difficult situation! Thanks again for that!
Review 4:It's not really a criticism but the address isn't on the gps so just keep a lookout for the handwritten wooden sign along the road. Or just use google maps.
Review 5:A perfect place to stay. Great hospitality of Sandra and her family. The very clean pool and its surrounding garden, great size air-conditioned rooms, one of the best home style breakfasts we've ever had, the hammocks (lol).. I could go on. Highly recommended especially for families with children. It isn't the cheapest but you will definitely not regret spending the money.
Review 6:The owners are most welcoming. Anything you need - is cared for with a smile. The brakefast they serve is faboulous. We like vegies for brakefast - from day 1 they served cucumbers and tomatoes.
Review 7:Nothing.
Review 8:My husband, daughter and her husband, their teenage daughter and I spent two nights at L'Orto di Panza. The setting was beautiful; the rooms were stylish and comfortable; the breakfasts were unmatchable! My numerous e-mail communications with Elena were delightful, and I wish I could have seen more of her, but she was at their restaurant that week. We were, however, very pleased with the time we spent with Sandra, cook and hostess at the L'Orto di Panza for the week. What a helpful, sweet, and warm person she is. Alfredo, the little pooch, brightened up our mornings, too. I hope to return someday for a longer stay.
Review 9:We had a wonderful stay in Tuscany, thanks to the beautiful and well-cared for terraced apartment at L'Orta di Panza. Our breakfasts were better than we have ever experienced in our lifetime of traveling! Elena, who managed the B & B, was exceedingly helpful and down-to-earth. She got us reservations near Pienza for a classical concert in a small, intimate farm setting - her instigation!! Our only regret was that we wanted to stay longer than the three nights that we booked. This property is great!!!!!
Review 10:Nothing
Review 11:We like Elena, her mother in law, her mother, her father, and her husband's amazing restaurant in the hill top town of Montefollonico. We very much enjoyed Alfredo their cute little dog. It felt like being with family. So comfortable with great views of the Tuscany hills.
Review 12:We just came out of season so everything was not ready for visitors. We were the only visitors.
Review 13:Nice staff. very good room. They try to make everything to help us.
Review 14:Breakfast! Many have already mentioned this but it's a very welcome exception from the 'traditional" (almost non-existing) breakfast in Italy. We were lucky to be treated to pancakes in the morning! It's a perfect location to visit Montepulciano, Montalcino and many other villages in the area. Do have dinner at their family restaurant. It's wine menu is amazing and the food is really good. The rooms are comfortable and clean. We were welcomed with homebacked pie in the room.
Review 15:Eleanor and Sandra were fantastic hosts, this gorgeous property was perfect for my mother and I to end our holidays in Italy. Beautiful apartment, amazing food, lovely pool to swim in and love the company of their pet pug Alfredo. Highly recommend coming here. They are also able to recommend some lovely restaurants in the area. Nice private location out of the town centre, You will need a car to get around
Review 16:Nothing. But if you don't rent a car, it's hard to reach there. Everything was perfect except absence of refrigerator in the room. And maybe you need a mosquito-killer.
Review 17:It was a very nice place~~~ I wanna visit this hotel again with my parents and child.
Review 18:Our room had a bathroom with a glass wall/door. It was obviously beautifully designed, but not exactly the ideal mood enhancer for the honeymoon. Also, the wifi was touch-and-go making it tough for us to research/map where we needed to go for the day.
Review 19:Sandra was a wonderful host, she not only recommended restaurants, but even made us a reservation at one our first night to save us the hassle. Every day, she brought us fresh water to the room and a little plate of desserts were left by the bed after the room was made up. The room was beautiful, the breakfasts were unbelievable. The location is a 10 minute drive to Montepulciano which is one of our favorite places in Italy. The pool was spectacular (cleaned every morning while we were there) and the grounds were kept very nicely.
Review 20:The rooms were very comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. They made our young family feel very welcome. The breakfast was great, and the pool, and gardens were relaxing. Beautiful views from the property. We felt very at home, and our stay here was a highlight of our trip.
Review 21:We absolutely loved L'Orto di Panza. Our room was beautiful and spacious, with a jacuzzi. The gardens and the swimming pool area are lovely. Breakfast consists of home-made products, fresh-baked every day. Their cakes are to die for! We stayed in several hotels and agriturismos during our stay in Italy and L'Orto di Panza was the best.
Review 22:I might consider softer pillows but this is really a detail as overall Excellent.
Review 23:Very friendly, Rooms are well decorated and excellent breakfast.
Review 24:Nothjng... it was perfect
Review 25:Everything, staff, food, view... Alfredo!!
Review 26:Hosts are just amazing, Sandra made us feel at home
Review 27:Breakfast was wonderful
Review 28:The hosts were perfect. The place is wonderful Breakfast is great
Review 29:Eleanor and family make you immediately feel at home in the heart of Tuscany. Montepulciano is a must visit.
Review 30:Warm, personal hospitality!!
Review 31:Staff, breakfast, Pool, Montepulciano
Review 32:Not the easiest place to find but then our out of date sat nav map didn't help (~5 years old!!). Just look for Abbadia de Montepulicano and you can't go wrong.
Review 33:Staff were great. Weather was superb and not far at all from Montepulciano (~10mins by car). Very peaceful and scenic area with beautiful sunsets. The breakfast was excellent and they also asked if we wanted something extra other than the wide selection of fruit, cold meats, bread and cheese. The rooms are also very spacious and were kept extremely clean. I would highly recommend to all.
Review 34:Great Tuscany Location B&B Owner Best breakfast of anywhere we stayed Extremely helpful in planning trip and making reservations Excellent B&B with all the amenities Pool! Views
Review 35:I became ill and was personally taken to the hospital by these very caring hosts. Also their breakfasts were bellissimo--special pastries and fresh fruit in addition to pancakes or eggs. The room was exceptionally clean and the shower was the best.
Review 36:Breakfast was excellent, they even gave us foil paper to take the left over with us since it was really too much, specially because we had had a large dinner at a recommended place by them.
Review 37:Our stay at L'Orto di Panza was absolutely wonderful. Elena was an amazingly hospitable hostess. My husband and I arrived on a very hectic day when the car we were supposed to rent was not available. Elena was nice enough to drive us from the train station, into Montepulciano one night, and to the family restaurant in Montefollonico one night, as well as to the train station the day we left. The apartment we stayed in was immaculate, and had everything we needed - plus a shower that doubled as a steam room with a radio! We had a lovely hammock that overlooked the Tuscan hills, and a private patio. The room was stocked with a fabulous selection of wines which we took advantage of. We were able to spend some time by the immaculate pool and enjoyed playing bocce ball in the grass. Alfredo, Elena's darling pugg, was also a great host! The breakfast was absolutely delicious with a lovely assortment of homemade cakes, donuts, made-to-order cappuccinos and pancakes, eggs, meats, and cheeses. We will absolutely return to L'Orto if we have the chance to visit Tuscany again.
Review 38:Beautiful setting, felt like we were staying with a Tuscan family, in fact we were. Home cooked breakfasts every morning, gorgeous gardens and close to vino Nobile wineries and World heritage Unesco towns. What more could you ask for in glorious Toscana?
Review 39:My husband, and my elderly mum and dad and I had a wonderful week at L'Orto Di Panza. We stayed in the beautifully furnished 2 bed apartment and the en-suite facilities suited their needs perfectly with a very spacious bedroom. The rooms were very clean and we just loved the rustic wooden furniture. Our hosts Elena, Sandra and the rest of the family were so hospitable and friendly and very helpful when bikes had to be hired or restaurants to be booked. The breakfasts were exceptional with a huge variety of home made goodies each morning, a highlight for my Mum. Very central to all of the regions fabulous sights and the pool was very welcome after a day's sightseeing, we even made it to Florence. I thoroughly recommend this little paradise and we hope to return very soon.
Review 40:The staff, the two sisters who owns this place was SO nice and helpful. The pool was okay, and the facilities were good also. Its not Luxury, but very comfortable. The breakfast was one of the best I have ever had - and I have stayed are many different hotels!! The place was close to Montepolciano, and close to Pianza and Montalciano (by car). If you go there, YOU MUST visit the sisters restaurant in an nearby town. Ask them, and they will reserve a table for you!!
Review 41:We loved our stay at L'Orto di Panza, it's a beautiful andpeaceful bed & breakfast with a fantastic view of Montepulciano. Werented one of the apartments which was spotless and has everything youneed. It's beautifully decorated and has a little private gardenwhich was wonderful for our 1 year old daughter. The property isamazing, the entire family looks after it, all is very clean and wellmaintained, especially the beautiful and large garden. Elena and her sister-in-law Sandra take very good care of their guest. It's a place withfamily history and you can feel that, everything is taken care of with alot of passion. You will not forget the breakfast, a lot of it bakedfreshly every day (vegetable cakes, sweet cakes, biscuits, pastry, pizzabread etc.) - amazing, we miss it every day! Great and very cleanswimming pool. The rooms include daily cleaning. The family also runs arestaurant in the pretty little village Montefollonico: "La BottePiena" which we can also recommend, lovely food, nice atmosphere, you can also buy wine and other little bits and pieces. There are a lotof pretty villages surrounding L'Orto di Panza for day trips. Weenjoy wine so we also visited a few wineries in the area. We stayed atL'Orto di Panza for 8 nights and we would always go again. Thank youElena and Sandra for a memorable time!
Review 42:L'Orto di Panza is a slice of heaven nestled in the hills of Tuscany. Sandra is a gracious hostess. My husband, 21 year old daughter and I spent 2 nights in one of the apartments. It was gorgeous! Immaculately clean, well equipped kitchen if you chose to prepare your own snacks, meals or just coffee. Lovely selection of local wines to enjoy while sitting on the patio and gazing at the hill town of Montepulciano. The beds were exquisitely comfortable. The property is so quiet that we slept our best rest of the trip there. The breakfasts were scrumptious with a wonderful variety of fruit, juices, coffees, teas, eggs, meats and cheeses. My only regret is that we were not able to stay longer. Also, Sandra's family has a restaurant in nearby Montefollonico that is not to be missed. It was our best meal of the trip. We had a rental car and we able to explore nearby towns and villages easily and return to our haven at L'Orto. I hope to return for a longer stay in the future.
Review 43:Our two-bedroom apartment is spacious, very clean and well decorated. We didn't use the kitchen but it is well equipped. Its surrounding is also beautiful. Breakfast is abundant and delicious. Elena does her best for her guests.
Review 44:We had a wonderful time at l'Orto di Panza. The first day we arrived late, and with our young child we could not go out for diner anymore, so they got in the car to get us pizza. This is one of the many examples of the great hospitality at l'Orto di Panza. The apartments are decorated with great care. Breakfast was absolutely amazing every day again. This all added up to a very pleasant stay. We would absolutely recommend this place to anyone.
Review 45:Great stay! People are really nice and helpfull. Excellent breakfast!!
