Reviews for B&B La Casa Di Tufo
Review 1:Nothing
Review 2:The accommodation was conveniently located to be able to walk to everything. It was very clean, comfortable & had everything we could need. Very quiet at night & warm.
Review 3:Looked absolutely different from the pictures. Description did not mention that it is only one room with 2 beds.
Review 4:Location was great. Host was good and willing to help.
Review 5:would have preferred a softer bed but hey its just a personal preference
Review 6:lovely location in a beautiful town. good facilities. Jasmin was helpful. good breakfast
Review 7:So sorry we didn't book for more than 1 night..fell in love with Orvieto and our accommodation. ..and Jasmine. ..she couldn't be more gracious or helpful. .we definitely plan on coming back
Review 8:Everything was wonderful there.
Review 9:Location and breakfast are good, the host lady Jasmine is a great lady, she speak great english and she was kind and very helpful make us feels like home during our stay .
Review 10:Only parking was a little tricky. Jasmina will give you a parking permit for 5Euro for the night. Either drive up and collect the pass, then drive outside the city walks and park or park temporarily, pay that ticket and then swipe back in with Jasmina's pass. Only a very small difficulty. :)
Review 11:Orvieto is a beautiful little town. This B&B very central. Clean, very comfortable, good facilities and a lovely host. We'll stay here again:)
Review 12:Parking was quite far from the property, although we could pull up the car to drop off luggage.
Review 13:The property owner lives on the premises, and even though we were delayed in checking in, she was there to welcome us after a long drive. The room had modern conveniences yet was decorated with old-world charm. The owner was so helpful to direct us to various sites to visit.
Review 14:It was extremely hot when we stayed in Orvieto and unfortunately La Casa di Tufo did not have any air conditioning (which we did know before our stay). We were told that the property will get air conditioning soon, hopefully for next year, in which case it will be absolutely superb.
Review 15:The staff were extremely friendly (the owner was away but a couple of her friends were helping out), providing useful advice and recommendations and the room was nice.
Review 16:We had a wonderful stay and would definitely return again when we next come to Italy. Everything about La Casa di Tufo was excellent. The location, the hospitality, the clean, modern and beautifully furnished room, the breakfast; it was all top class. It was a shame that we only had the one night!! Thank you Jasmin!
Review 17:Ludi & Roberto, who were covering for their friend. Their dinner rec was fantastic. And they had generously offered to show me around--an offer which I could not accept.
Review 18:Air con would have made it perfect, but even during the very hot days we were there, the evenings were cool and open windows with a fan were quite comfortable, so it wasn't a problem.
Review 19:A fantastic place to stay in Orvieto. The apartment is enormous, well-appointed, and clean. The owners are delightful, eager to help and full of helpful information if you want it. Breakfast was generous and delicious. The building itself is on a charming side street, but still a two minute walk to Piazza Reppublica and 5-7 minutes to the Duomo.
Review 20:The shower did not have a radio neither a massage device. The parking is a little away from the B&B, but given the kind of town, is understandable. The lack of aircond in the room was a problem, as we did only have a little fan for a quadruple room, so it was tremendously hot at nights. I would not recommend coming here in the middle of July-August if you can not handle sweating like crazy at night time.
Review 21:The location is excellent, size of the room is very good, decoration also really nice and modern. Robert, the owner, is very happy to advice you about places to see and restaurants, even gave us a 10% discount card for a fantastic restaurant (an actual cave-restaurant where food is delicious at a very good price), just 5 mins walk from the B&B.
Review 22:The owners Ludovica and Roberto were absolutely amazing and accomodating beyond expectations. The perfect BnB in walking distance to everything in Orvieto. Really makes you feel like you are staying where the locals are.
Review 23:The bed was really comfortable, the decor had beautiful designs. The owners were very kind and interesting people. The house was amazing and ofcourse the location - Orvieto is a must see, would like to visit again :)
Review 24:The bed was very hard.
Review 25:Quiet place and the town was not so touristy. Our hosts were covering for the owner who was away. They were lovely, very helpful. Breakfast was simple but nice.
Review 26:Had a poor experience upon arrival due to complicated car park procedure. Our passports weren't given back to us leading to a 5 hour round trip the following day after we had moved onto our next location. However, the usual owner wasn't there during our stay and it was left in charge of friends..
Review 27:Location, value for money
Review 28:Parking was quite near, but if you have more luggage, you need to drive closer first. In Orvieto, it's not always the easiest thing to do.
Review 29:Clean and cosy B&B with helpful staff.
Review 30:This is a great b&b in a quiet yet convenient part of Orvieto. Easy walk to historic sites and good restaurants. Our hosts were fantastic and took great care of us. Very good breakfasts.
Review 31:Located on a lovely little sidestreet, away from the tourist crowds, but close enough to walk everywhere. Gracious hostess who was available when needed, but not intrusive.
Review 32:Lots of stairs to climb in the house. We were lucky to have strong men in the group to carry all the heavy luckage upstairs.
Review 33:Nice and warm family-like B&B in great location. Really nice and helpful host. We were a big family so the place was really convenient to us.
Review 34:This was a great choice in the nicest part of the town - easy to get to and we walked the length of the town easily. We were really well looked after by such lovely friendly hosts - we wish we'd stayed longer. It was a nice touch to find some gluten-free products for breakfast and we were given great advice about things to do and where to dine. So glad we picked this bnb.
Review 35:The stairs were a slog The movement sensitive light in the bathroom was a pain - if you got up in the night all the lights came on and the light from the hall came through the blind, so we ended up sleeping with eyemasks
Review 36:Helpful owner and good breakfast Good location
Review 37:The kitchen were breakfast is served is not very clear
Review 38:Good location in majestic ancient part of the city. Hospitable owner provides useful information about the city. Major attractions of the city are close to the hotel. The bed is very comfortable.
Review 39:Most people would not even notice this or consider it a problem but I have a big problem with spiders so I was very uncomfortable. In the bathroom there was a skylight and little tiny red spiders came down the walls. No matter how many we killed there always were more later. Like I said most people wouldn't have even seen them but if you have a problem with spiders just don't stay in the apartment
Review 40:The apartment was nice, clean and had a great kitchen
Review 41:Our shower spray system was complex and difficult to use. Be careful not to let it pour down from straight overhead. Jasmine is planning to replace it with a simpler one.
Review 42:Jasmine was extremely nice and helpful. The room was large and comfortable. There is a lounge available to all residents. The breakfast was limited but adequate.
Review 43:Even forewarned we had great difficulty in driving to the apartment. Our advise would be park, walk in and Jasmine will come and guide you in.
Review 44:Clean, modern and comfortable interior which still kept the historic charm. As soon as you set foot outside you feel part of the countryside and it's history, and the views superb. Jasmine was a fantastic hostess.
Review 45:The bathroom in our unit needed a little work but was still okay --- just not as good as it once was. The light over the sink needed repair but there was another light that was good enough. The breakfast was a little limited.
Review 46:This B&B in a 600 year old building is on a quiet road away from the busy section of Orvieto. Our host was very nice. We write a blog with many photos and the wifi was excellent for this.
Review 47:I use a cane. The stairs were difficult to manage. This would not be a deterrent to stay here again. This is just info for people with problems with stairs.
Review 48:Jasmine was a joy. Great hostess, great recommendation for dinner. Terrific location. We felt comfortable from our first meeting. We were able to use the common area to enjoy our meats, wine and cheese.
Review 49:Everything about La Casa di Tufo was as advertised! It was located in a very quiet section of Orvieto with beautiful views and a fantastic area to walk around in. The host is amazing and helped us with directions and getting tickets for the train into Rome. I would return here in a heartbeat!
Review 50:This is a charming, charming B&B. Jasmin is a wonderful owner. The place is clean, well equipped, the breakfast was superb. We loved the location and the rooms. We had a double room and a 2nd room with kitchen and loft. It was excellent. Parking was easy and off premises, plus only 5€ Jasmin will help you with parking and/or all your needs. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Review 51:A bit complicate to find the B&B La Casa Di Tufo in the city... Prepare well before arrival with a gps since there are limitations in traffic inside Orvieto. Make a prior call to the residence for further details to avoid unnecessary walking...
Review 52:Orvieto was fantastic... The lady (I forgot her name) who served us was proffesional and very friendly to give directions... If you are looking for a nice bed to sleep and walk around the city, La Casa Di Tufo is a very good choice. Notice that inside the city you don t need a car... The lady gave us free and safe parking place for our car outside Orvietto which was a very good bonus!!!
Review 53:We stayed 2 nights, a Thursday and a Saturday. Both rooms that we had were nice with plenty of room. I would like to go back and get the apartment and make Orvieto a base for traveling around Umbria and Tuscany. The place was very clean. The breakfast was good. Jasmine was friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Would definitely stay there again.
Review 54:It was very very difficult to locate the hotel. We searched for about an hour. I tried to call the advertised telephone number but received no response.
Review 55:The bed and Breakfast is in a very good location. The room was clean with a good bathroom. The area it overlooks is a small overgrown courtyard. The breakfast was very nice. The communal dining area was handy.
Review 56:It is a bit of a walk from where the bus drops you off.
Review 57:Location, large room, quiet, comfortable beds, very clean, nice breakfast, use of kitchen, lovely hostess, nice view.
Review 58:More suggestions - on a hot night, it would be nice to have the option of a sheet, rather than a doona. Also, some additional lighting in the breakfast/common area would have been welcome when using the area for purposes other than eating.
Review 59:Orvieto is a gem, and La Casa di Tufo is great way to experience it. Jasmin ensured we had directions to get there (even if the bus timetable has changed), the accommodation was clean and comfortable and breakfast was good.
Review 60:Finding the parking lot was a bit of a challenge even with the map not to mention finding our way back on foot. Thankfully we dropped our bags off first. Still, I couldnt think of a cooler place to get lost.
Review 61:Our host was very gracious and kind to us. She even called to make a reservation for us when she heard we wanted to take the Orvieto underground tour. Our rooms were immaculate and the breakfast was delicious. My 5 and 7 year old daughters loved sleeping up in the loft. Very charming home and location.
Review 62:Poor quality bath towels are the only negative from our three night stay
Review 63:Great location . Charming hostess.... Happy to give lots of local information. Modern decor, yet still cosy. A magnificent town to visit.
Review 64:It was a bit challenging to get in and out for luggage with a car, but manageable if you have a small car.
Review 65:The owner was delightful and centuries old farmhouse so incredibly nicely restored. Breakfast was great, room bright and clean, and bathroom actually roomy.
Review 66:Nothing.
Review 67:Nice looking and well equipped. Really Clean. Very friendly and helpful owner. Comfortable bed. Really nice location in the old town. Orvieto is not a big place so walking to other attractions wasn't far. Good wifi. A pleasure to stay there.
Review 68:I'm not sure about the couple having sex at breakfast in their room off the common area was a plus or a minus lol older buildings don't have great insulation the poor guy didn't last longer than my espresso. We all had a good chuckle
Review 69:Funky space, great little spread for breakfast with fresh pastries meats cheese ect. Our host even made us fresh espresso!
Review 70:we liked everything! reconstructed old house, large rooms, views to garden, location, city -- and very kind and helpful household Laura. It was really very pleasant Stay!
Review 71:My family enjoyed our 2-night stay very much here. It's quiet and comfortable. Orvieto is beautiful and the restuarants Jasmine recommended are very good and we all loved the truffle pasta there. We definitely recommend this B&B.
Review 72:the owner was very helpful and friendly. we only spend 1 night and had to leave very early. she offered and prepared breakfast for us. orvieto is a wonderful place to visit and sightseeing.
Review 73:What a beautiful place. Jasmine the owner is so helpful, knowledgable and patient! She took her time to explain things and recommended a good new restaurant. The breakfast was excellent and well presented. Her staff is great too!
Review 74:Everything is perfect!
Review 75:Amazing bed and breakfast located in and old town of Orvieto. Lovely old house that has been renovated and turned into a very cosy place with several rooms and all the amenities needed while preserving essential features of the ancient building like tufo stone and intergrating them in a very tasteful manner with modern design. Jasmina is a friendly host, an artist, and a very talented and interesting person! We had a great stay, a healthy breakfast and an engaging conversation with Jasmina at Casa di Tufo!
Review 76:We hadn't planned to stay longer.
Review 77:The friendliness and helpfulness of the owner. It was raining when we arrived by car; the GPS was not working, and we couldn't find the B&B. She walked in the rain to find and direct us there! My grandchildren loved the showers with jets, music, etc. Breakfast was quite nice and filling. A delightful overnight stay! Our family would definitely recommend the B&B!! (Sorry I can't recall the owner's name right now - I do plan on writing her a note.)
Review 78:The bathroom lights were all automatic and turned off if one were not terribly active in the room: lights turned out during our showers, while shaving, and during "sedentary" activities. This was quite annoying. Via email, she said she needed our credit card number in advance but then actually charged our credit card for our stay weeks prior to our time of arrival.
Review 79:Lovely, large room, very comfortable, and an excellent breakfast with meat and cheeses along with more typical Italian breakfast foods. Owner is extremely nice and helpful.
Review 80:The location on a quiet street was lovely. Easy to walk to Duomo and center of town. Jasmine was extremely helpful on the day we left, allowing us to use our room late and leave luggage until time to catch the bus to the funicular to the train. We loved Orvieto and La Casa di Tufo was part of what made our time there so nice.
Review 81:Jasmin is kind, informative and helpful! A wonderful experience being able to walk to all of Orvieto!
Review 82:None
Review 83:Like the property, the room we stayed at, and the town which is utterly beautiful.
