Reviews for Misia Resort

Review 1:The minute we pulled into the parking area we knew this place was going to be wonderful. Just the look of the property was beautiful. We were greeted by Giorgio with a glass of prosecco and made to feel very welcome.

Review 2:wonderful room-- quiet and removed from the busy area!! Staff very helpful in recommending place to eat. Welcoming with a lovely glass of wine of the region!!

Review 3:Helena, the owner and hostess, could not have made us feel more welcome there. She was an all star resort owner. Everything one could think of wanting was already there, waiting.

Review 4:I enjoyed everything about the Misia Resort - the owner was so accomodating; interior decorating is her passionl; cleanliness; small village was enchanting; overall highly recommended.

Review 5:If you want to be in your own hilltop town, Misia is perfect. You can walk up the mountain for spectacular views of Orvieto which is about 10 minutes drive. Giorgio is helpful with directions. Room was very comfortable, fabulous bathroom, charming and very quiet tiny hilltop town with its own beautiful little church. Good breakfast and excellent restaurant about 3 minutes drive. Great value

Review 6:We loved the setting and the small village feel of this exceptional property. It was like having our own villa in the hills overlooking the best of Umbria. A comfortable bed, good linens and towels, ample space and a commanding view made for an exceptional experience. Georgio, our warm and charming host gave us great advice about the local attractions which enabled us to get the most from our stay in beautiful Orvieto. Simply a perfect place to be, you won't be disappointed. You will need a car, but ample parking is provided. We are delighted that we had the good luck to find it.

Review 7:Be aware that you will need a car to visit Orvieto.

Review 8:The attention to detail was amazing. Hotel was beautifully presented and the staff could not have done more to help us enjoy our stay.

Review 9:Rooms are spacious and very well appointed. Tastefully furnished with lovely bed linen and modern very nice bathrooms. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. I will definitely stay again.

Review 10:From the picture on Booking you would suppose the existence of a public lounge with fire place, but this is a bit illusive, as there is no such place. The same is the title "spa", as it is just a hotel. Breakfast is in a underground room with no daylight, which s a pity in such a lovely surrounding

Review 11:Position, a bit outside of Orvieto in a quiet hamlet, beautiful views of Orvieto. Nice and cosy rooms furnished a bit "american country style".

Review 12:I must thank Georgio because he went above and beyond for us, as we arrived very late. He made us feel like family and shared his personal Umbrian experience with us. This is much more than a hotel, it is a small village were the houses have been converted into rooms. You can walk to the top of the hill and see a panoramic view of Orvieto. The rooms are stunning, with the perfect combination of modern boutique type comfort and old world charm.

Review 13:We had some difficulty finding it. There are signs in Orvieto, but we had to stop to ask for directions twice. BUT...it is worth the search! You must have a car and you wind up a steep, curving road to find Rocca Ripesena, which is about 10 minutes away from Orvieto. We hope to return!

Review 14:Gorgeous, updated decor in a medieval setting. Owner Elena has done a marvelous job with these old buildings and you can tell she loves being a host!

Review 15:We loved everything! No complaints! Well worth the trip to feel more connected to Italy than the hustle and bustle. A must stop for those who want a peaceful retreat!

Review 16:This was a restored stone farmhouse that was beautiful. Wonderful facilities in the room and the breakfast room These people have spent a lot of time and effort on this location; summer would be the best time to stay.

Review 17:Finding the place was a little difficult at night, and you definitely need a car, but that's not really the fault of the resort.

Review 18:Misia is tucked away on the outskirts of Orvietto. The resort has tastefully appointed rooms, and the staff are absolutely wonderful and friendly. The views from up the hill, just nearby, over the town of Orvietto are magical.

Review 19:Georgio was so personable and kind. The room was large, comfortable and had so much attention to detail. The breakfast and coffee were fabulous! The location was excellent as well.

Review 20:tough to find, especially at night, but host and owner was wonderful to help out.

Review 21:Loved the congeniality of host/owner and the room was very comfortable and spacious.

Review 22:Such a quaint beautiful little town. Perfect for a short getaway from all the hassle and bustle. Giorgio was super helpful and the breakfast was excellent.

Review 23:Misia resort was nothing short of amazing. The hotel itself is modernand gorgeous, and the owner was gracious and helpful. We attended awedding in Orvieto and scoured the internet to find a hotel thatdidn't have the 'old European charm' style and theaccompanying small uncomfortable bed and cold shower. We were thrilledto find misia and the other wedding guests had to ask us to stopbragging about our accommodations while they lamented being tired, cold, and stuck with wet hair. We can't say enough great thingsabout this hotel.

Review 24:There was no food near by or in the hotel. As a "resort" it really should food.

Review 25:Beautiful room, excellent bedding and linens. Great night's sleep

Review 26:The bed was the best ever. Hospitality was out of this world. Giorgio was the best host. Loved the décor and the attention to detail. Location was good. Real value for money.

Review 27:Rustic on the outside, beautifully decorated inside. Elena was lovely. We liked staying just outside the town rather than put he hill in Orvieto itself - it would have been a bit claustrophobic. There were bikes we could have taken to ride around the area, but we had a 6 year old with us. It was easy to get up to the town. We just parked outside (2 euro?) and then took many elevators up. Plenty of restaurants to choose from. La Pergola looked great and was recommended to us, but was booked out, and Vinosus, which was right beside the Duomo was closed. We easily found another restaurant though. We wished we tried the wild boar which is apparently a local speciality. The Cattedrale di Orvieto was spectacular - probably our favourite, even after having seen St Peter's and many churches in Rome! The well on the other side of town that they used to use for water was well worth it. We travelled about 20mins southwest to see Civita di Bagnoreggio, an amazing tiny Medieval hilltop town (Etruscan origins) not accessible by car. 6 or 7 permanent residents and many cats! Had some morning tea there, but found plenty of restaurants.

Review 28:Shower gel and other items not replaced daily. Door handle came off and not attended to after two separate reports. One night in three the bar was locked to guests and it was badly stocked.Steep steps not suitable for elderly guests.

Review 29:Overall design.

Review 30:None, but you need transportation to get here as it's 6 km from Orvieto centre.

Review 31:Owner was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were new, clean and nicely furnished.

Review 32:A little confusing to find

Review 33:It reminds me of Restoration Hardware meets shabby chic. Very tasteful and they have done a wonderful job rennovating. Look forward to seeing the place.again after they have added the additional rooms and restaurant.

Review 34:Maybe the breakfast could have a little more selection.

Review 35:Giorgio, takes care of every needs of his cliens. The design of the hotel is great combination of modern and italian achitecture. Every detail was considered by management. The view from room 4 is amazing.

Review 36:Nothing to dislike

Review 37:Room size Tasteful Decor Linen sheets Views Excellent host ( Georgio) Excellent restaurant 500 mtrs away Wifi Beautiful library

Review 38:The Misia Resort is a perfect spot to use as a base of operations for a stay in Umbria. The rooms are beautifully appointed, the staff is completely helpful. Loved it.

Review 39:The owner was very nice and accommodating. The rooms were large and luxurious and it was a peaceful place.

Review 40:Giorgio is exceptionally helpful and friendly and has done a fabulous job of decorating the rooms.

Review 41:Large beautiful room with a comfortable bed. Giorgio was a delightful host who gave excellent restaurant recommendations; and the view....wow!

Review 42:location a bit far out and difficult to find

Review 43:owner was friendly and helpful

Review 44:On quite a hill making bike riding difficult. Restaurants a ways away.

Review 45:Modern updates.

Review 46:nothing

Review 47:Worth the short drive from Orvieto. Beautiful hotel with friendly staff. The most comfortable stay of our whole trip to Italy.

Review 48:Having to travel down the very dark road to find a place to eat. Once we got there and stopped shaking, the food and service were great!

Review 49:We were welcomed warmly and our room was just beautiful. I loved the linen sheets and the peaceful décor of the room. When we went to the top of the rocca, the view of Orvieto was breathtaking.

Review 50:Walls are paper-thin. Better hope your neighbor isn't on their honeymoon, or doesn't use the bathroom while you're in your room. Misia is really far away from Orvieto. Only stay there if it's a home base for travel and you have a car.

Review 51:Staff was friendly and provided great service. Interior was well-appointed and fashionable.

Review 52:Long, windy road up to the hotel made it a little more difficult to go back out for dinner although there were options nearby

Review 53:Giorgio was very helpful; offered us a glass of wine as soon as we got in the door; nice facilities; quiet; best hair dryer in Italy

Review 54:Misia Resort's location makes it a great respite for sightseeing inand around Orvieta. The attention to detail and design, with theguest's comfort in mind, made it our favorite stay during a 3 weektrip across Italy.

Review 55:The owner was very attentive. His recommendation for dinner at a local winery was excellent. The hotel is tastefully decorated and the locale is beautiful with a great view of Orvieto.

Review 56:Plastic disposable glasses in the room should be replaced daily or preferably a glass cleaned daily.

Review 57:Lovely room with great views. Owners were very friendly and hospitable and helped us plan our daily activities including restaurant recommendations and bookings.

Review 58:A wonderful stay and the perfect base from which to explore beautifulOrvieto. Our host was very friendly and helpful. Beautiful decor andluxurious bedding made our stay perfect. Breakfast was good with all ofthe usual Italian breakfast options and cappuccinos made to order. Weloved our stay and hope to come back again.

Review 59:Giorgio, the owner, was incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel is beautiful - lovely, stylish rooms, a great quiet location with a beautiful hike just behind the hotel. Very quite and quaint, super comfortable and special.

Review 60:We found Giorgio very helpful, friendly and hospitable. I loved the old world ambience combined with state of the art heating and comfort. Giorgio has an eye for interior art and design, beautifully appointed and tastefully decorated. We loved our stay and only wished it had been longer.

Review 61:Locating the hotel was very difficult. Signage was minimal and hard to find. Got lost again trying to return after trip to Orvieto. Much too secluded for us. Only one other guest was in residence. Breakfast was OK but coffee maker broke down and couldn't have any. Had much better experiences at other hotels in Umbria.

Review 62:Rooms were nice and proprietress was very pleasant. She made some expresso for us after we arrived, which was kind of her.

Review 63:It was a bit difficult to find. The directions need to be more specific, citing how many kilometers to stay on which road and perhaps mention afew more landmarks so that you know you are on the right road.

Review 64:The owner, Giorgio, was helpful, friendly and delightful. It was almostas if we were old friends on a visit to his house. The hotel maintaineda traditional Italian feeling complimented by contemporary decor. Weloved it and will recommend it to others.

Review 65:Nice countryside hotel, with nice renovated rooms, parking facilities and friendly staff.

Review 72:Beautiful, relaxing, excellent customer service - a beautiful setting in Tuscany.

Review 73:Lousy breakfast.

Review 74:Nice room. Big. Comfortable bed.
