Reviews for Locanda Palazzone

Review 1:Amazing location, gorgeous views from Umbria landscape! Beautiful decor that manages to preserve the history of the place and give it a modern, sophisticated feel. Because there are not so many rooms (7), it feels very intimate, and in many occasions you feel like you have the whole place to yourself. Ludovico was the perfect host, very lovely and caring. I remember mentioned to him by email that was an special occasion for me and my boyfriend and he gaves us an upgrade at arrival. really great

Review 2:The Japanese chef has left.

Review 3:Beautiful setting within the estate vineyard with stunning views of Orvieto on the horizon. Excellent location from which to explore southern Tuscany as well as Umbrian towns.

Review 4:Nothing

Review 5:A little heaven on earth: superb views, vineyards, magnificent palace, excellent food, great pool, excellent room and friendly, welcoming owners.

Review 6:the bathroom and particularly the shower old fashioned the diner although of high quality- i guess- should be a little bit more open and flexible

Review 7:location winery and breakfast

Review 8:Bit overpriced and the breakfast was shocking (a piece of cheese with some raw tomato and some stale muffins). Avoid the breakfast.

Review 9:The authenticity of the medevial hotel and how it has been transformed to be comfortable. A bit out of the way from Orvietto but great place. Would be very nice place to stay in Summer.

Review 10:Dinner was too formal and expensive - we would have been happier with local cuisine.

Review 11:Elegant spacious room and furnishings with gorgeous views Spectacular grounds and countryside Warm, helpful staff Beautiful dining room

Review 12:Rich culture and history. High quality of well preserved landscape and nature elements. Long term dedication at improving the estate from the owner and staffs. Convenient location and easy access to the main transport.

Review 13:There was nothing we dis-liked.

Review 14:We loved the beauty, the space & the architecture. The simplicity of the room was minimalist yet ample -- and, again, very thoughtful with each amenity.

Review 15:Lack of sun umbrellas by the pool. Some comfortable seating in the garden would be good for sitting and enjoying a pre dinner glass of chilled Orvieto.

Review 16:Stunning views, lovely wine, dinner on the terrace watching the sunset is a must. Worth getting up early for the sunrise and watch the mist rise from the valley below. Great pool for relaxing. Dinner is gourmet style, will not suit young children but ok for us.

Review 17:Location, hospitality, food - all of it!!

Review 18:Breakfast was OK but could be improved in terms of selection.

Review 19:Excellent location with fabulous views Diner was excellent.

Review 22:Breackfast and lack of staff for the cost

Review 23:Location, iews, Villa, Pool, Wine Yards and Winery

Review 24:Wifi need constant re entering of password (bit of a nuisance)

Review 25:Everything! It's perfect - can't wait to visit again.

Review 26:Could not cool down the mezzanine bedroom.

Review 27:Beautiful setting, helpful staff and excellent food.

Review 28:Location Staff Style

Review 29:What a pity that the room did not match the food! We had a suite and thecheapest room in the building but it was really a double room with atable and chair! Hardly any of the lights worked - including the one onthe landing - we had to use a torch to ge down to dinner. There wereseveral things hanging off the wall and it was just not well maintained. The towels were stained. Also it is a working vineyard and, although itis a peaceful location, we were kept awake until 130am by the workersworking on the vats right outside our window and woken again at 7am whenthey turned up the following morning which spoilt our stay. We felt theroom was overpriced - having stayed at some Relais Chateaux hotels whichhave been much more luxurious but cheaper. We would happily havereturned for a longer stay for the food but sadly not for the room.

Review 30:The dinner - it was truly the most amazing experience we have had fordinner in a long while and we have eaten at some great Michelin starredrestaurants. We were the only guests so we had dinner in the main roomwith our own waiter - it was candlelit and romantic. The meal was notcheap at e43 but fantastic - we had sea bass in coffee and peach juice, guinea fowl from the estate, clam risotto with lemons, - it was all mouth-watering and beautifully presented - each course a work of art and thechef is only 20 - surely someone we will hear about in the future. Itwas all accompanied by the estate's wine which was just asdelicious. That night will be something we will remember for ever!

Review 31:Breakfast to be improved - Limited choice of bread, toppings, no croissant or eggs, ...

Review 32:Friendly staff Great dinners on the outside terrace, view over Orvieto Relaxing pool with great view over countryside

Review 33:I loved everything about the Locanda Palazzone. It's beautiful, charming and quiet. Every morning we woke up to stunning views from our suite of rooms. The food was wonderful and the staff made us feel like family. My young children really believed that they were staying in a palace.

Review 34:The shortness of our stay!

Review 35:Loved the holiday. Staff were fantastic, setting stunning, and food and wine beautiful
