Reviews for Hotel Punta Barone

Review 1:Great location - beautiful surroundings and right next to a lovely swimming spot with wonderful, clear waters. The staff were a joy - very helpful and friendly right from the start of our stay. All in all, I would recommend not just the hotel but Salina itself - a fantastic, welcoming, warm and tranquil venue.

Review 2:This is a great, classic 3-star Italian hotel - quite comfortable, nothing fancy, always delicious cakes at breakfast - but the location is spectacular. Within easy walking distance of Santa Marina Salina, a hop, skip and a jump from a swimming beach. Our room had a juliette balcony overlooking the sea, and the hotel has a common balcony with exactly the same, extraordinary view for hanging out with a drink and watching the moonrise. Add to that the hospitality of the host, Angela, and you get an experience that was one of the highlights of our stay!

Review 3:The view, the friendliness of the proprietress, the peace and quiet. It's a piece of paradise. Clean and well kept, bountious breakfast, convenient to town, swimming.

Review 4:I thought the breakfast was poor compared to other 3 star hotels I had stayed at in Italy. On arrival we were "encouraged" to go to dinner at a restaurant owned by a relative of Hotel Punta Barone was one of the worst meals we had im Italy.

Review 5:The location was great.Looking out over the water and hearing the sea at night. Friendly helpful staff

Review 6:Leaving!

Review 7:Angela's service was sensational. She went out of her way to help us with so many hints and connections. Language is no barrier when it comes to meeting Customers needs. Closest place to paradise on earth. Grazie Angela, see you next time.

Review 8:There is really nothing to dislike unless you are looking for something that it does not pretend to be.

Review 9:One really cannot fault this small hotel. It is not luxury accommodation but then that is not what one has booked. Everything is immaculate, the owner Angela is a friendly and attentive host, the location is superb, the views amazing, almost every request will be answered with a 'yes' and you will sleep like a log with the sound of the sea in your ears. I can hardly fault this little place and had a very happy four nights.

Review 10:Nothing

Review 11:I first thought this hotel was a bit far from town but once I realised there was a path though the town it was great. The lady running the hotel was very kind and did all she could to make our stay enjoyable. She does not have much english and we only have a few words of Italian but that didn't matter. The swimming just below the hotel was good. I would recommend this hotel to others.

Review 12:There was nothing negative.

Review 13:We stayed 5nights great views, excellent service, friendly helpful happy caring staff, delicious breakfast and would definitely stay here every visit.

Review 14:Room was next to sea so it was lovely sleeping hearing sea waves. There was a mosquito netting on the window so it was fine to keep windows open. Room was spacious as well. Location is good, a bus stop just outside and not too far to walk to the port/ centre of city. Angela the owner is lovely but she does not speak English. It was easy to understand the basic stuff though and she is very friendly

Review 15:Punta Barone was a beautiful place for a relaxing holiday. Angela was a friendly and helpful hostess. This was our first trip to the Aeolian Islands, and we were very happy that we chose this as our main base of exploration. We would definitely return, and recommend it to our friends.

Review 16:The hotel is in a great location just out of the town centre, but lessthan a 5 minute walk along the sea front. The room was spacious with agood shower, and lovely sea views (you could hear the waves at night!).Angela was very helpful, but didn't speak any English, a possiblebarrier to some travellers. The views of Stromboli at night from theterrace were perfect!

Review 17:Breakfast could have been even better with some freshly baked pastries (like the sicilian tradional croissants con crema).

Review 18:We spent 4 nights in this charming hotel. The room had sea view and a veranda to listen to the sound of the waves and to see the stunning eruptions on Stromboli island in the evening. The staff is nice and open, ready to offer explanations about places to visit and most beautiful beaches. The cleaning is exceptional. We recommend this excelent hotel to tourists of the Aeolian Islands.

Review 19:Angela was a great host! Amazing room and hospitality. Spotless place with amazing views!! We loved everything about it!

Review 20:Patchy wi fi

Review 21:Terrific view of sea

Review 22:The incredible view, and the fantastic terrace.

Review 23:A view to die for-great villa looking over water-excellent breakfast-a great family owned motel willing to help in any way

Review 24:The only trouble was mosquitos.

Review 25:About a 10 minute walk from the port. Quiet and serene. Excellent breakfast. Beautiful spot.

Review 26:Only Italian breakfast, no international No easy access with heavy luggage

Review 27:Sea panorama Quiet location Small hotel Friendly owner/staff

Review 28:We had an incredible time in Salina at Punta Barone. Angela was an excellent host. The room, overlooking the ocean, was certainly large by European standards and everything was very clean and fresh. Breakfast was great and when we had to leave very early the last morning to catch a boat to the mainland, Angela actually set out breakfast just for us several hours before the breakfast time. We would absolutely go back. Thank you!

Review 29:Rather difficult to access the pebble beach if you want to swim.

Review 30:Angela is an excellent and very helpful hostess. The hotel is situated on the edge of the little town so it's peaceful and there are beautiful sea views from the rooms.

Review 31:Wifi only available in breakfast room area (though accoording to the site it should be in the rooms too). Staff doesn't speak any English, which I think is a basic service to your guests if you work in the tourist sector.

Review 32:Great location (5 min walk from port/town center). Several communal terraces with sea view. My room had in fact a private terrace. Excellent breakfast with home made pies. Friendly staff. Highly recommended!

Review 33:mosquitoes was the only thing I didn't like

Review 34:everything Angela is lovely the views/location - stunning ambience, peace
