Reviews for Hotel San Giuseppe Dimora Storica

Review 1:The rooms are a bit basic and dingy (lacking light at there aren't many windows) and although the building of the hotel itself is very impressive, the buildings around it are not much to look at so you don't have much of a view. However, i have to say we were happy enough here.

Review 2:The building is quite something; it's an old monastery which has been converted, so it's quite impressive. The breakfast was fantastic. The staff were superb - polite, friendly, helpful and couldn't do enough for us. And they hotel has a spa which we ended up not using, but which looked good. It's a five-minute walk from the town centre.

Review 3:The hotel feels tired and isn't as per the impression given by the photos. We had a small room on the second floor and it felt dated - no plugs by the bed unless you unplugged the lamp, poor water pressure on the shower, dark and stuffy.

Review 4:The staff were excellent and breakfast was very good.

Review 5:Did not feel like a 4 star hotel this one, more a high-class back alley bed and breakfast. It was said to be close to the beach, which is partly true, our 5 minute walk to the beach was more like 10 and we were passing a lot of hotels closer to the sea. Expensive when you expect more.

Review 6:Breakfast was nice, staff friendly and helpful when we checked in early and when we need tips for next destination. Clean rooms with spacious bathroom.

Review 7:Too dark in bedroom. Male reception staff lacked enthusiasm.

Review 8:Location. Breakfast and cleaning staff very pleasant and efficient. Comfortable room / bed.

Review 9:Nothing

Review 10:The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was fabulous with just a short walk to the old centre and the harbour. Parking under the hotel if you wished, hire of bicycles and an awesome breakfast.

Review 11:I know it is not Italian to do so, but I missed coffee in my room as there was no night time room service to deliver it.

Review 12:The location was excellent. The room was cool. The reception team was friendly and helpful.w

Review 13:Wifi--having to log on every time was a bit of a nuisance.

Review 14:Comfortable outside sitting area. Friendly staff. Short walk to historic center of Otranto. Large choice at breakfast, including homemade cakes.

Review 15:Room has no windows other than glass door, and felt a bit claustrophobic

Review 16:Good location (but not in old town) WIFI OK Spacious and modern bathroom Decent choice at breakfast

Review 17:The hotel is not exactly cheap (end of August), but I suppose that this has become normal in Otranto during high season.

Review 18:The hotel has everything you wish for: the rooms as spacious, clean, and comfortable; there is a little terrace in front of the room to sit outside and relax in the evening (or hang your towels and bathing suits); the hotel is extremely charming (stone building, palm trees etc.); the staff is very friendly and helpful; the location is good (10 minutes walking to the centre and the beach in the centre and 15 minutes walking to those beaches that are located a bit outside of the centre); breakfast is good and also includes some local products (for example local fig jam and bread that seems home-made); the hotel also has a very small but very nice spa (they only let 2 people in at a time). So altogether: a great experience.

Review 19:Reception staff didn't know about the jazz festival going on that night in town and initially couldn't be bothered to find out. Eventually they offered to phone tourist information which they had said they were sure was open when telling us to walk there, but still chatted to each other before finally ringing and telling us it was shut. We walked to the nearby castle to find tourist information open and very helpful with info about the free jazz festival.

Review 20:Stylish decor. Nice rooms. Very clean. Good position near old town and castle

Review 21:Fantastic place to stay just outside the old town. Very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff. The hotel is a restored fortifiedfarmhouse which is full of character. Great relaxation area on thebalcony too, and a basement garage (10 euros/day) for keeping ourhired Fiat 500 nice and cool during the day. Easy walking distance tothe town beach and old town for evening dining.

Review 22:Thee staff was very friendly and helpful, We loved the style of the rooms and also the high ceilings in the breakfast room

Review 23:Spa overpriced for what it was

Review 24:Handy car park

Review 25:camere non insonorizzate

Review 26:cortesia, pulizia, prima colazione

Review 27:friendly staff, convenient location to the historical old town by walking

Review 28:Wi fi very spasmodic, despite attempts by the staff to rectify it.

Review 29:The room, the terrace and the treatments.

Review 30:Shower needed updating!

Review 31:Friendly and attentive staff!...Quiet location, freshness of breakfast!

Review 32:I wish the front desk team were more prepared to attend non italian speakers. The parking is extra charged and this is not clear in the reservation page.

Review 33:Location The hotel is beautiful The breakfast is amazing

Review 34:Very clean and sufficiently spacious room with good facilities, nice rooftop terrace, good breakfast - all very close to centro storico of Vieste. No problems at all.

Review 35:Beds were a bit hard, but that seems to be the norm in Italy.

Review 36:Excellent location to explore city of Otranto. Lovely staff and attractive historic building.

Review 37:Some rooms (the classic ones) are rather small. The sitting area on the terrace does not offer enough shade to be used during the day in summertime. It also doesn't offer any nice view, as surrounded by buildings. The breakfast: not great, bad coffee, mainly sweets (which are good), some fuit and plastic cheese

Review 38:Nice rooms, tastful and very functional (good closets, space for wet beach towels etc. outside, nice bathroom). Little private space with table for each room, and large terrace with sofas in common area. Good location, outside but close to old town, means: no noise from the bars!

Review 39:A beautiful hotel with superb standards of service and care for guests. The breakfast was the best I have ever even, at least eight different kinds of cake, fresh fruit, cereals, breads, etc. the room was elegant and relatively spacious. Very impressed with the thoughtful and friendly staff.

Review 40:- English of the staff average-poor but you can get by - Same breakfast everyday, so a little boring if you are staying more than a couple of nights - A few hidden charges such as parking (10 euro a night) and entry to the spa!

Review 41:- Nice, helpful staff - Clean & comfortable hotel - Beautiful architecture of the building - Tucked away on a nice quiet street

Review 42:Otranto is a good location at a budget rate to see the surrounding areas such as lecce Rocca Vettchia etc...The old town is interesting to visit with a few good restaurants

Review 43:Love it! It's our second time there and we'll go back for a longer stay.

Review 44:just a suggestion: please add some hook to hang towels and wed swimsuits

Review 45:Great location, beautiful rooms, friendly staff, great breakfast

Review 46:A new a refurbished farm. Beautifully re-done. Lots of comfort and located with walk distance to the town and beach areas.

Review 47:Good location close to the old town, free parking (ask for a pass at reception, they don't seem to automatically offer them)

Review 48:Staff very helpful, close to old town, excellent breakfast and wonderful ancient building and rooms.
