Reviews for Alessi Hotel

Review 1:The staff were all very friendly and warm, the location was ideal and the hotel was extremely good value for money. The restaurant food was delicious for both breakfast and dinner.

Review 2:The breakfest should includes more choices.

Review 3:Great decision this hotel. Just few steps from the main square. Lovely place in a thin old street. I can recommend to everybody!

Review 4:Possibly one of the best hotel experiences we've had in hotel stays. Brunno is an excellent host and the atmosphere of the hotel is super friendly. It has a wine bar restaurants and great wine collection in shop opposite which Bruno can advise on.

Review 5:Bruno, one of the managers, was really friendly and gave us a great room with a stunning view and lots of great tourist information. He really is an excellent host andmakes everyone feel welcome. It's a charming hotel, slightly eccentric in its design because it is comprised of three properties together.but it had great character. The breakfast is really good, and the restaurants in the hotel were also of a very high standard and extremely popular in the area,. Staying there was a very pleasant experience, the location is excellent and the staff were so friendly that they made a very positive contribution to our experience.

Review 6:Location for all activities very good. Lake ferries and centre restaurants all very accessible. Staff in Alessi restaurant very friendly and accommodating and we did not find better in Desenzano. Room upgraded for free.

Review 7:This hotel is an amazing place to stay1 Just off the main square, ideal for walking, sightseeing, getting to the railway station etc! It has its own restaurant, the food is great. Breakfast is very good and the staff go out of their way to help you! Definitely would recommend staying here!

Review 8:As the window opened to the narrow street - it was noisy till late night - and early the clearer cars came.

Review 9:The hotel had its own restaurant - which was actually far bigger then the hotel itself. It was a family owned place you felt like going home when going for dinner. Normally I skip hotel restaurants if there is other option - in 100m circle there were 30 but this was really nice. So we stayed in our place.

Review 10:Air-conditioning wasn't the best, but it was still adequate for us, even in July.

Review 11:Excellent service. Especially the host Bruno was very helpful and friendly. Decent breakfast.

Review 12:Nothing - fabulous hotel. There is no pool sadly but that's to be expected at the location.

Review 13:Everything! Comfortable, brilliant location in a charming little street away but a very short walk to the main square. Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Arbin in the restaurant. Highly recommend and would definitely revisit.

Review 14:There was nothing to dislike...

Review 15:Close to all amenities. Owner , Bruno and staff very friendly and helpful. Great breakfast and excellent dinner menu.Room had great view of Lake Garda.

Review 16:Air con was right above my head when I was in bed & I was really cold all night. When I turned it off I could hear other air con extractors on the roof. Not a good night's sleep. Breakfast - no English Breakfast tea! We felt there was limited choice.

Review 17:Venezia room with own 'roof terrace' - really quirky but we liked it. Clean & comfortable. Staff very friendly & helpful. Central location

Review 18:Owner was friendly and helpful. Even gave us a choice of room. English was great, he had very good knowledge of local area and gave us map and few ideas of areas around. Hotel has many restaurants and they are nice for winding down in the evening for relaxed atmosphere

Review 19:On our last night which happened to be a saturday we could not sleep since pizzeria was turned out into a loud bar! Our room had windows to the courtyard. Bathroom and room needs refurbishment

Review 20:The hotel is central.. It has a character. Hospitality was awesome.. Excellent pizzeria!

Review 21:My room on the top floor had a nice view but was a kind of a room for the service staff - the motley furniture, a tiny bathroom, a couple of closed doors in the room going somewhere and a lot of odds and ends on the terrace adjoining to someone else's balcony. A couple of times there happened to appear some kids running around and in the terrace as though that was a common area.

Review 22:Location of the hotel, staff, restaurant

Review 23:The only thing that i could complain about is the breakfast. Other than that really enjoyed our stay here.

Review 24:Very good location right in the center of Desenzano. Friendly staff and good value for money. The food in the trattoria was very tasty as is the restaurant. Our room was spacious and comfortable.

Review 25:The only problems we had were really outside the control of the hotel. By car, it is near-impossible to find, and we ended up driving through pedestrian precincts amongst tables of diners. Make sure you know PRECISELY where you're going, as even StreetView and SatNav can't find it. Don't underestimate this difficulty. Secondly, when we were there, there was some sort of event going on in the town square, with very loud music until the early hours. I think this may have been unusual, and otherwise, the central location is a positive point. Good also for access to ferries. Parking is also really limited. The ever-so-friendly manager even came in the car with us to show us where to park for free, and we managed to do this each day, but if you're not a confident driver, the tiny, extremely narrow and steep access could be daunting. Don't let these points put you off, just be prepared.

Review 26:The location was very central, with only a few yards walk to the town centre. The hotel was clean, and all the facilities, including attached bars and restaurants, were very pleasant. The staff couldn't do enough for us, and although we only had a few nights there it was a very pleasant stay. The room was basic but comfortable, with strong, free WiFi, and the breakfast was again simple but very acceptable.

Review 27:Bruno, who greeted us provided such a warm, Informative welcome. He really does go the extra mile! Excellent location, great base for travelling to Sirmoine, Bardolino and other towns on the shores of Lake Garda. Venice is only an hour and a half away by train. Did not get chance to explore Desanzano itself. Literally a ten minute walk, downhill from train station.

Review 28:Room a little in need of some refurbishment but still very comfortable

Review 29:Perfect location and really friendly, helpful staff - nothing was too much trouble. Went to a great deal of effort to ensure I could have a gluten free breakfast.

Review 30:Breakfast was included, but was of average quality with limited choices. The free wifi was usually slow and sometimes would not connect. Unfortunately, we weren't able to get a good night's sleep. The bed and pillows were old and very hard. The main problem though, was the noisy restaurants and bars downstairs, which were going until after midnight. Even with all the windows closed the voices and music were clearly heard. Ear plugs helped, but weren't a complete solution.

Review 31:The hotel is well located on a lane way just off the main square. The building has character and our room was a good size. The staff were a nice group; friendly, helpful and multilingual.

Review 32:My room was in a different building and a little secluded. The room strangely enough didn't have windows and I had to rely on the A/C for some air recycling.

Review 33:The location is right in the middle of everything and not more than 5 minutes from anything you might look for in Desenzano. The staff were all very nice and helpful when needed.

Review 34:quite a long walk from train station

Review 35:literally in the centre of desenzano. Perfect for a stroll by the lake. Very romantic child friendly - our son was even given gadgets to play with during breakfast:) good wifi. staff extremely helpful.

Review 36:The view from the windows onto rooftops, but you can't have everything! We put a 'do not disturb' sign on the door and got disturbed three times...!

Review 37:The room was amazing; lovely colours with a four poster bed, a huge square bath for two (or more!) people, big windows and a huge flat screen television on the wall opposite the end of our bed that worked really well with lots of channels! The location was fun, beautiful and perfect! The restaurant downstairs was good. On arrival they gave us discount cards for local attractions. The room and en suite bathroom were modern, well looked after and very clean. Amazingly priced. Beautifully decorated hallways outside our room. Thank you so much! :)

Review 38:I found the staff very friendly and efficient, always helpful. My room was comfortable and spotless . You couldn't get a better location in the town. The trattoria's food was excellent as was the service. Highly recommended.

Review 39:Maze of a hotel, very quirky layout, not good for elderly visitors.

Review 40:Excellent central location, lovely street.

Review 41:Excellent location and restaurant. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Review 42:Nothing to dislike.

Review 43:Location. Helpful staff. Clean. Quaintness of the property as a whole.

Review 44:Not a hotel to people with car! Difficult to find parking in the area.

Review 45:The staff was lovely and really helpful. Great food in breakfast

Review 46:Very helpful & nice staff, especially Bruno.

Review 47:Every moment of our trip was amazing. Expectant there wine bar

Review 48:Nadia and Bruno were wonderful hosts. Warm, friendly, helpful and directly involved. The staff were professional.Location excellent. Food delicious.

Review 49:Great location, beautiful room (which was more of a suite)!

Review 50:Bruno the host most courteous, fun and friendly. Great advice with vouchers saved us money for the extra Birla and Proseccos.

Review 51:Well located, great staff & the restaurant downstairs is very good.

Review 52:Nothing !!!

Review 53:Good atmosphere in the hotel and restaurant and the location makes it so convenient for the town and steamers on the lake..

Review 55:Staff are friendly. Restaurant excellent food, staff and decor

Review 56:Really like the character of the place) this is my second visit but have been to the bar area and the courtyard restaurant many times

Review 58:Location was great, excellent staff, restaurant and bar. Quiet and comfortable room, some stairs, but a lift takes you must of the way.

Review 59:No bathtub.

Review 60:Great location, excellent staff, clean and comfortable room, and generous breakfast.

Review 61:do yourself a favor and book alessi

Review 62:Nothing.

Review 64:All likes- personal, place, room.Beautiful view to Garda.

Review 65:View from bedroom windows

Review 66:Very comfortable. Excellent facilities Close to town

Review 67:Location was excellent and also hotel's restaurants served very nice Italian food. Privacy and the size of the room was perfect for us.

Review 68:the room, the location and hospitality/ also ood brekfast and exelent bar and restaurants

Review 69:the service

Review 70:fantasti location

Review 71:Right in the center of historical part of city and only 1 km from train station. The room was spacious and perfectly clean. We were offered to have welcome drinks as complimentary. Bruno was so helpful.

Review 72:Nearest parking was 500m away - need to plan carefully for luggage drop off!

Review 73:Central location. Quaint hotel set up - like 3 old houses joined together. Cleanliness of rooms. Choice of 3 restaurants - terrace, pizzeria or wine bar - in the hotel, all of which looked very good. We ate in the wine bar - it was full of atmosphere and the food and service were excellent!

Review 74:Wi-fi rarely worked in my room, and was always weak and slow even when working.

Review 75:Location, layout of the hotel and its restaurants, the walkway outside (where you can also dine)

Review 76:Ummm... well we liked everything! I guess our room was pretty rustic although this didn't bother us - in fact we preferred it, and we didn't spend much time in the room anyway. The only thing i would have much preferred is a better shower. So some people may expect a less basic room for their money.

Review 77:Amazing hotel. Literally the friendliest welcome I've ever had. Lovely room with a stunning view from the roof terrace. Incredible food and service at the hotel's outside restaurant. We were highly impressed and decided to stay extra nights. We were impressed by how efficiently the hotel is run by its owners. They were always working alongside their many staff. We never waited for anything. I highly recommend this place.

Review 78:The staff is very friendly and helpfull! The rooms are very nice and the location is great. It's a 2 minute walk to the lake and 5 minutes to the beach. The breakfast is also good. It's in the middle of the centre of Desenzano, so no parking nearby the hotel but the staff is very helpfull to indicate (free) parking spots.

Review 79:location in the centre of town 100 meters from the ferry terminal, lovely restaurants (there are 3, one pizza, one trattoria, one more formal) value for stay and food.

Review 80:No negative coments

Review 81:The owner welcome us with glass of champagne. Our 8 days stay was very delightful. The room was big and the bathroom also. They serve good breakfast and the restaurant is very nice with good food. The staff was kind and helpful. The hotel is in the center of Desenzano with everything in walking distance.

Review 82:- bathroom very dark (only 2 lights above the sink) - bed not comfortable - very old furniture - ventilation very noisy in the bathroom

Review 83:- central - free car park very close

Review 84:It's just the hotel I would like to find in each town I visit for pleasure. Totaly suggested

Review 85:Wine bar, restaurant, nice internal court fournished for a relaxing-pause at each time of the day. Friendly and willing staff Perfect position : close to the city center but at the same time not exposed to uproar since "hidden" in a very narrow street (forbidden to cars and motorbikes)

Review 86:constant loud music until 1 am in the restaurant under our windows, probably there are other rooms not overlooking this restaurant but as the hotel is under renovation it might have been a problem to provide a "quiet" room at this time

Review 87:location of the hotel, kindness of personnel, cleanlyness

Review 88:Complicated way to find location by car, strange solution for parkingplace, slim breakfast

Review 89:Rooms are clean, very comfortable beds, very good position of hotel -just couple of meters from city square, and just 100 m from Garda shore

Review 90:breakfast, refurbished rooms, the location

Review 91:The hotel is really amazing!!!!great breakfast, great restaurant and very helpful staff. My strongest suggestion!!!!

Review 98:No tea and coffee facilities in room
