Reviews for Castello Della Castelluccia

Review 1:On first day for breakfast, after my 3 kids had their milk and when I went with their cups for a refill I found living worms in the cup. And then they found that there was something wrong with the cold milk container were it had worms in it. The manager apologized. And on the next day they had changed the container.

Review 2:Beautiful place. Nice staff and delicious food

Review 3:Wonderful place with smiling personnel, dinner and lunch was great, prices were normal. A great place to visit. It was really interesting that even in the outside areas of the hotel the cleaning was tactical. I recommend it to anybody.

Review 4:We had an incredible break here in early September. It was great to be only 20-30 minutes from Rome but still being able to relax in the great surroundings of the castle. We stayed in the tower room and loved having our own private roof top terrace. The evening food was also exceptional!

Review 5:We loved the uniqueness of the hotel. We were with 2 small grandchildren and their parents. We were there only for one night, had to fly out next day. My family stayed for 3 nights before flying home. The staff was amazing, friendly and helpful. The food was very good, service was great. Perfect place to stay with small children, plenty of space to explore without bothering other hotel guests. Not too far from central Rome and airport. The whole experience was wonderful. Absolutely would stay again. Super relaxing and beautiful. Plus who wouldn't want to stay in a castle!

Review 6:Pillows! Restaurant waitresses Garden rooms Wi-fi needs a boost!

Review 7:Pool area Room decor & cleanliness Appearance of property Restaurant food Facilities

Review 8:Wifi was a bit hit and miss.

Review 9:Hotel is beautiful. Great food. Staff were very friendly and extremley helpful. Marie-Stella on reception is lovely and very knowledgeable about Rome and it's ice cream attractions!

Review 10:What an absolute brilliant stay.... luxury retreat and very high standard. Unique location, staff very gracious and attentive. Food in restaurant amazing - will recommend and will go back

Review 11:Pool area could get busy as it is also open to non hotel residents

Review 12:Nice rooms, professional staff, very good breakfast and swimming pool facilities. Highly recommended.

Review 13:Well it was probably a genuine mistake but at checkout time I noticed that someone else's poolside bill had been added to mine. It was removed without question but could easily have been missed!

Review 14:Hotel ideally located to enjoy visits to Rome as well as being able to relax at the pool side. Staff are very happy to arrange lifts to the nearby restaurants or the train station, but a hire car is useful. The. Train takes minutes to reach the centre of Rome and only costs one Euro fifty each way, tickets can be purchased at reception. The pool is first class and great to get back to after a long day at the museums etc. The rooms, restaurant, food and especially breakfast were first class. Staff very helpful and everything kept spotless - all in all great value.

Review 15:The castle hotel was beautiful! Great big pool to swim in. Good place to stay outside of Rome, especially with kids during the summer. Easy 30 minute drive into Rome!

Review 16:Our stay at the Castello was everything I hoped it would be. The Castle was beautifully decorated and clean. The restaurant was five star quality. The staff was professional, friendly and accommodating. The grounds were lovely and relaxing. The pool was clean and refreshing. We spent all day by the pool and had a wonderful lunch during our stay. It was a perfect way to enjoy Rome. I can't wait to return.

Review 17:When we arrived we sat in reception for two hours waiting for our room to be ready and kept being told to wait another 5-10 mins. No offer of a complimentary drink or told where to go and change so we could take the children to the pool. No apology from the staff. If we had been told we would have to wait two hours we would have driven into the town. On our first day the pool was closed for three hours while a TV programme was being filmed. Two very disappoint children. Again no apology from the hotel staff.

Review 18:The hotel, grounds, restaurant, and pool are fantastic.

Review 19:Because there was a hitch with our booking, they upgraded us on the first night to the tower, which was the best experience ever! Staff very friendly and helpful, amazing food and gorgeous castle and setting! Please can I go again soon?!:-)

Review 20:The breakfast was a little poor. No fresh vegetables (tomato, cucumber, salad etc.) and it was not included in the room price.

Review 21:The suite we stayed was excellent. It was in tower and we had private terrace on the highest floor. The staff was very nice and helpful.

Review 22:It was during a heat wave and we had a 3 story room. The room with the bed was 90 degrees. The ac was barely working. We had to ask for a fan. Ultimately we slept with the window open which helped a little but we got eaten up by mosquitoes.

Review 23:The location was fantastic.

Review 24:Leaving!!

Review 25:We couldn't fault this hotel, stunning building in a quiet location away from the hustle and bustle of Rome yet only 25 minutes by train. Food was excellent

Review 26:We stayed in a garden room and found the furniture and general decor a little tired and in need of face-lift. Wi-Fi was temperamental at best.

Review 27:Staff were generally really attentive and helpful, excellent service in restaurant & helpful receptionists.

Review 28:There was nothing to dislike!!

Review 29:From the second we set foot in the door, until we left, it was like living in a Fairy Tale. The smell of the flowers all around the property was beautiful. The staff was gracious and so helpful. The room was beautiful. I would recommend this great place to all!!

Review 30:It's a good distance from the city, so if you go, be prepared!

Review 31:Super fun place to stay - a real castle and an incredible experience! Hotel staff was exceptional and the food was delicious. Awesome complementary breakfast! Plus, the prices for lunch and dinner were a great deal. The hotel shuttle was great and very accommodating. Once we figured out the metro and train system in Rome, getting around was not a problem.

Review 32:We didn't like the breakfast and the food in the restaurant. The rooms really needed a facelift and it was rather old fashioned... We expected more of this hotel.

Review 33:We liked the view in the hotel

Review 34:There wasn't anything we didn't like!!

Review 35:The architecture and the age of the castle; I'm a builder so that part of it amazes me. We love castles and we now have added thus one to our list of favorites. The staff was very nice and very helpfull; the breakfast provided was excellent; I'm glad we found this castle.

Review 36:Second visit, and again our stay was too short.

Review 37:The location. Beautiful grounds. The Castello The food, including a spectacular restaurant. The accommodating staff, always helpful.

Review 38:The staff were all helpful and cheerful. The general manager is an exceptional gentleman. We were pickpocketed on the last couple of days and he went very much out of his way to assist and acomodate us. His thoughtfulness and consideration made it feel as if nothing bad had happened. Highly recommend the place, especially under his managment.

Review 39:Be aware of the numerous flights of steps to the pool. Ok for us but not ideal for anyone with walking difficulties.

Review 40:Quality of furnishings Beautiful building full of character Swimming pool

Review 41:Customers should be informed that they need to call the hotel to get picked up at the railway station after a day in Rome

Review 42:Breakfast,pool,pleasant staff, very relaxing place to stay, shuttle to rail station

Review 43:Hard pillows, which they changed

Review 65:The building, the room, the food

Review 66:Loved it all, we will go back

Review 67:Health club facilities, limited dining options, dated.

Review 70:Rooms Location Pool Food Terraces Gardens Staff

Review 71:breakfast should have more items (fresh vegetables etc)

Review 72:castle and rooms

Review 73:A stunning location with staff who could not do enough for you.A special place and a brilliant holiday.

Review 74:The staff were fantastic couldnt of been more helpful. Excellent shuttle service to and from the train station and very easy to get into Rome. Room was clean - we did ask to change rooms as the attic room where they put us first felt a bit like a prison cell with no light and very small - but there was no hassle with changing rooms which accomodated our needs much better.

Review 75:The location of this hotel is so peaceful and just outside Rome. The service and food are both fabulous and the pool is a wonderful place to relax. The midday checkout made all the difference to our short time there.

Review 76:Limited food selection especially for children (8 & 9 yrs old)- basically just offered breakfast and dinner - no lunch poolclosed at 6pm

Review 77:Staff were very friendly, helpful and hospitable the scenery was veryromantic, quiet, relaxing breakfast was great and free food wasdelicious rooms were clean and smelled nice the rooms were cleanedeveryday had bathrobes and slippers my 2 sons loved the hotel thepool was great and clean it wasn't crowded rooms had working ac,tv, internet access free shuttle bus to train/metro to get tomain sites of Rome had a wonderful stay at this hotel - we woulddefinitely go back!

Review 78:This hotel is only really interested in the customers holding eventsthere. We felt that we were just an irritant. The hotel was seriouslyunderstaffed when they had an event on which was on three of the days wewere there. It was also in the mid 20's and they hadn't botheredto open the pool - probably because they're events guestsweren't going to use it - very, very disappointing considering thethree days there including our food bill was over 1000 euros.

Review 79:The castle and location were outstanding. After a wobbly start on thefood, the restaurant was excellent, when we were allowed to eat in it.

Review 80:We arrived during a conference and everything was very loud and busy. The food at the supposedly Michellin star restaurant was not worth the price. Some furniture was not antiques, but merely old and broken.

Review 81:Beautiful old restored castle. Easy access to the train station for trips into Rome. Pretty gardens.

Review 82:Location and the rooms were excellent. Highly recommend this hotel to all travelers.

Review 83:Awesome swimming pool. Friendly knowledgeable staff. Fantastic rooms. Felt like a Prince & Princess

Review 84:Bar was supposed to be open 3PM to 11PM but there was only one person, he was in the breakfast area.

Review 85:Rooms were nice, every day it was cleaned.

Review 86:Easy location very quiet great room historical place great staff nothing was a bother easy to get shuttle to go into Rome felt safe here..
